The bar

Had a wonderful happy hour/ dinner here. We got the mussels which were some of the best I have ever eaten. The broth was incredible. We also got oysters and the charcuterie plate which felt like a pretty good value. The customer service started off excellent. The host was accommodating and seated us quickly. I think we were soon forgotten however and service slowed way down. The interior is nicely decorated. I think it is worth skipping the nearby view at Joeys for the food we had here.

Had a very good dinner starting off with a couple happy hour dishes, the fried chicken bites that were very tender juicy and well seasoned, as well as a nice charcuterie board of mixed cheese, olives gherkins, salami, raspberry compote, mustard and crackers. For dinner the Nicoise salad was a healthy mixture of greens, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, topped with slices of seared tuna and anchovies. The seared scallop mushroom risotto was flavorful and creamy with three scallops nicely cooked. Service was great, friendly and attentive.

We stayed at the seaside hotel and bought the breakfast package to dine at this restaurant. The food looked amazing when it came out. I was surprised by the big portions. The food was good although the two pieces of bread were a bit dry. Overall I was satisfied with my breakfast here and it kept me full for a long time!

Lobster roll (CAD $15)
Sandee L.

Cute restaurant located inside the Seaside hotel at the shipyard. We wanted something light after a day of gluttony and Seaside Provisions delivered. We walked in on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. - Floradora (CAD $15): If you're a fan of ginger beer, this is the drink for you. Heavy on the ginger taste. 3/5 - Tuna tatake (CAD $24): OK 3/5 - Lobster roll (CAD $15): Heavy on the shrimp moreso than the lobster. I could tell by taste and not what it looked like since it was all ground up together. The brioche roll tasted like it was a day too old. I saw in some pics they used to serve it on a buttered lobster roll. That might have been better. The highlight was the fresh arugula salad it came with. 2/5 Both food and drink had nice presentations.

Pineapple Express

Located right at the North Shore shipyard, inside the Seaside Hotel, there's this cute lil' gem. I was on date night with hubs, and made a reso on the morning of. Once we went in, we were greeted and sat promptly. I ordered a Pineapple Express cocktail to start, and we decided to go for the seafood chilled platter. All the seafood is fresh and delicious!!! They used all the East Coast raw oysters, Raspberry points from the Atlantic Ocean. Mussels are plump and juicy, not the dry and small ones. The salmon and tuna sashimi are fine as well. I just wish the prawns had more bounciness and a bit more chew to it. I then ordered a bouillabaisse and hubs ordered the scallop risotto. The portion of my bouillabaisse is huge, and that halibut is to die for! All the clams, mussels and steelhead goodness in not a classic tomato broth, but in a mildly spicy dashi is so refreshing and enhanced the seafood flavour even more. The scallop risotto that hubs ordered, if you just eat the risotto alone, it's a bit bland, but if you have scallop and risotto in each bite, you can taste the ocean, saltiness, butter and lemon all at once. I particularly love their presentation on the scallop risotto, which they made an in-house shell-like pastry to mimick the scallop shells, which I find very cute. Services were very attentive throughout - server would come to fill our water, take away the shell buckets without us asking. We ordered a cocktail, two 9oz white wine, seafood tower and two mains, and the bill came to be $230. With the quality of food, portion and service, I think that's reasonable and would definitely come back.

Fried chicken $9 on happy hour

Had a great first visit to Seaside Provisions which is located in the Shipyards in North Vancouver. They offer seating inside and limited seating outside, as well. From 3-6pm Tuesday to Sunday which includes half off small plates and $1 oysters. We ordered the fried chicken which was so good and the $1 oysters. I think this is one of the few places that still offers buck and shuck! Would definitely return to try some other small plates but be sure to reserve your table on Fridays or Saturdays as they can get quite busy!

Happy Hour Oysters
Maling S.

I work near Lonsdale Quay and Seaside Provision restaurant that is in Seaside Hotel, well let's say why didn't I hear about this amazing restaurant? Happy Hour with co-workers, the food and drinks were delicious! The oysters well so fresh and good size. We wanted to order another dozen but they sold out during Happy Hour. The Wagyu flank steak with shoestring fries was so tasty. The Kale and Artichoke dip, the dip was a soupy consistency. The Lobster & Shrimp Po' Boys was great as the ratio with bun to lobster/shrimp was perfect. The tuna bites was my favourite as I always enjoy tuna tataki flavour. I would definitely come back and try the breakfast and dinner menu. I have no excuse as it's 5 minutes walk along the seaside from my office.

This is a great option in the North Shore for some happy hour specials. We enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent. Staff were friendly and stopped by regularly to clear finished plates and take more orders.

Buck-a-shuck at happy hour
Mary C.

Buck-a-shuck! What? Yes, it hard to find these bargains but I found it at Seaside Provisions at the Shipyard on the North Shore. My friend and I ordered 2 dozen and the oysters were delicious with an assortment of condiments like lemons, cocktail sauce, mignonette, Tabasco sauce, and freshly grated horseradish. Excellent presentation and the platter was ice cold. For the $1 featured oysters it's offered from 3-4:30pm only while the $2 premium oysters are from 3-6pm. Also ordered Lobster and Shrimp Po' Boys and Kale & Artichoke Dip. Both were well seasoned and tasty. Serviced was great from beginning to end. The inside of the restaurant doesn't have a view of the water or city view of the Downtown Vancouver but the interior is darkish, modern and comfortable. We got a table on their very small patio that is connected to the walkway to the shipyard's covered.

The delicious seafood platter was so fresh and tasty ! I can't remember the last time I had oysters that were this fresh !!

I asked my daughter to search the neighborhood for a full-service restaurant, preferably seafood. Well, what a find - Fishworks was wonderful. Fortunately, since it was late that Friday evening, we were able to get a seat in the very crowded restaurant. Our server, Lucy, was very good. She described the fish dish of the day, and we were both sold. It was a great decision, as the halibut on a bed of polenta with vegetables was delicious. Normally, we would have ordered a salad or an appetizer beforehand, but being on vacation means not taking home leftovers, so we figured the entree would be enough. It sure was. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance too.

We also ordered the seafood tower for 2 and it came with clams, mussels, shrimp, baked oysters, calamari, crab legs, and lobster tail. It also came with a few distinctly different sauces and garlic butter, all of which were delicious and went with whatever piece of seafood you decided to dunk. We ate on the outdoor seating patio located streetside with a view looking down the Main Street towards the water. Stunning!! We came during their slow hours after the lunch rush while they were getting ready for dinner and they were still quick and attentive, very friendly, and consistent with service though out the afternoon.

So we came back and my daughter ordered the Babka French Toast again. She didn't ask me to share it…read morewith her but simply made sure to stop eating after she had finished about half the dish. Much appreciated as this allowed me to order something different. I had The Classic which came with Eggs, mushroom & broccolini, potato rosti, baked beans, roasted tomato and housemade sourdough. We also ordered a Nutelle Hot Chocolate and Matcha Oat Latte. I loved The Classic. While I do enjoy trying new things all the time, I think I'm a Classic girl at heart. I often fight the urge to order the tried and true for the sake of trying new things, but I'm ever so happy on those occasions where I give in and order something more Classic. Baked beans and toast remind me of family trips to England. Havn't gone for one of those in years, but I do have some good memories of them. When they're on sale here, we sometimes like to buy cans of Heinz British style baked beans, and I sometimes make my own homemade version of baked beans to store in our freezer. I don't often see baked beans on brunch menus so this was a bit of a special occasion for me to be able to order something with baked beans for brunch. Personally, I would have preferred the beans to have been just a little bit softer. Nothing wrong with them. They were fully cooked but perhaps just a little bit firmer than I'd have liked. I prefer my beans very soft and I tend to be like that with a lot of foods in general. My hubby prefers his foods firmer, and I like my foods softer. It's a personal preference. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed this dish and am very likely to order it again sometime! Oh, the potato rosti in my dish was awesome as well. This meal was so filling though that I only ate one small corner of the potato rosti and then took the rest home to eat as I was very full already from everything else I had eaten from the plate.

A wonderful looking and tasting stack! The chicken has a kick to it, crunch is done well and very tasty. We must like it, we even bought their cookbook to try some of the recipes, especially the Fondumental, which dragged us back there again and again. It wasn't nearly as plentiful or as yummy as we remembered it, but it's still good. The sandwiches and soups have always been rib sticking and tasty. The ambiance has remained the same over the years, a little dark, but the fireplace and the vintage posters are cool. Our server Gary was excellent, Johnny on the spot with all that we were looking for. Their wine and beer is all local, which is a thing these days. My lobster bisque with the FAB salad hit the spot, and the bread piece was exceptional. The lovely K had the onion soup which she liked although said it could use a little more salt. Make sure you try the lobster bisque as it's one of the meatiest I've had to date; full of that shellfish flavour. Beef bourignon was suggested and I'm glad I took the friendly waitress' recommendation as it was a warm hug on a deep plate. I'd opt to swap for roasted potatoes instead of the mash but the mash does soak up all that delicious stew. The jambalaya is full of different proteins and if you're a fan of that, then I'd make sure to eat this perfectly cooked rice dish. I finished off with a banana bread pudding which was exactly that, banana bread in that bread pudding form; Personally I was hoping for bread pudding that was banana flavoured but it was still ooey gooey goodness. Large green trees, light wood frames and knotted sun umbrellas created the perfect vibe for a relaxed Sunday dinner for me. Our outstanding server, Eva provided fantastic dinner service! Not only was she generally hospitable but incredibly knowledgeable which entrees and sauces were gluten free. Her guidance was especially helpful, not only to me but to the table next to us, who were also seeking gluten-free options. My lamb and beef souvlaki was very good. $32. Both meats were very tender and the Greek salad was fresh and tasty, seasoned better than the last Greek place we dined at. The lemon potatoes were a one weak spot. They arrived barely warm and were missing that crispy edge I love. They did, however, have a beautiful golden color and good flavor throughout. I had a bite of their moussaka and was WOWED! $31 This Greek version of Iasagna was rich, flavorful and silky. I just had an Original Gimbap and a Vege Gimbap for myself. It was a hot summer's day so I just didn't feel like ordering hot food. Everyone else ordered hot food though. My daughter has been getting into Tonkatsu at Japanese restaurants for awhile now. So when she saw Chicken Katsu on the menu here, she decided to give that a try. It was just OK for her. No comparison to any of the pork Tonkatsu dishes that she's been having at Japanese restaurants. She still ate it all up though and it was a huge portion. Other dishes on the table included Seafood Noodles, Pork Kimchi Stew, Soft Tofu Stew, Fried Chicken, and Kimchi Fried Rice. My one gripe would be that they took a super long time bringing out my daughter's Chicken Katsu. Everyone else had their food for quite awhile but she sat waiting and waiting for her Chicken Katsu. When we asked about it, they said it was coming soon. But that's what they always say when you ask about something that's taking a long time to come, right? You certainly don't get that same experience in many other areas of the Lower Mainland. Because it was spur of the moment, we didn't have a reservation. We put our name down with the host and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. The restaurant was a little noisy but not overwhelmingly so. We both had coffee, which was really good. I was having a hard time deciding between the Blvd Blackstone Benny with maple bacon and the Smokey Brisket Benny. I ended up choosing the latter with a side of avocado and my friend had the Huevos Rancheros - he added a side of fried potatoes when he saw how good they looked on my plate. My eggs were overcooked but immediately replaced with new eggs when I mentioned it to the server. The replacements were soft with perfectly runny yolks. She also brought extra hollandaise sauce.
