Absolutely amazing gem in North Vancouver. Excellent food service, ambience and the highest quality food. Bisque to die for, the scallops seared perfectly and the ponzu marinated eggplant was a hit. Star was the salmon Wellington with the almond crust and pistachio pesto. Portions left us stuffed. Service was so professional and helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Recently revisited Fishworks for dinner and came at a good time during happy hour. We got to try some of their oysters that were on special for $1.75. Oysters were very fresh. They also offered bread that came along with a plate of Humus with balsamic vinegar that was really delicious. For dinner I tried the strip steak and my husband had the Egmont Sturgeon but replaced with halibut instead for the fish. We found the dinner menu cooking and flavours a little dissapointing. The halibut was overcooked and tough. And the strip steak was overly salted on top and with the sauce on the side and blue cheese on the top it just made the whole plate even more salty. I noticed a lot of the tables in the restaurant mainly had their seafood tower so that may be their specialty. Service was friendly and attentative. I would visit again for their happy hour items but would probably skip for dinner.

Wow, had a really great meal at Fishworks during happy hour. This was my first time at the restaurant and we got there right at 4pm without a reservation. Seated promptly and ordered a few dishes to share. 1) Complimentary bread and hummus dip - bread was warm and the hummus was tasty. Had a good acidity without being too overpowering. 2) $1.75 happy hour oysters - fresh and creamy tasting. Excellent with a bit of mignonette and hot sauce. 3) Salmon tartare ($15) - SO good. So refreshing, bright - great flavors and texture. Highly recommend, I can eat a whole plate to myself. 4) Grilled marinated octopus ($16) - pleasantly surprised by this dish. Octopus wasn't too tough and tasted great with the chimichurri. Squash purée was a nice texture addition and a little sweet. 5) Caesar ($7) - pretty sure my server forgot my order since it came after the food. Drink itself was good with a kick. Appreciated the delicious chocolates at the end of the meal. Will definitely come back!

Decent food and pretty quick service. I would have liked to love this place but I ordered my dish with a couple alterations and it came without the requested alterations. When I pointed this out, the server laughed it off. While my requests were preference based, I was dining with a friend who has allergies and it made me uncomfortable that patron requests weren't being taken seriously.

Had a fantastic dining experience here. The quality is top notch. Absolutely loved the octopus dish, and would recommend it to anyone.

Dinner for 4 at Fishworks & every meal was perfectly prepared & loved by each of us, seriously good and we aren't easy to please. Salmon Wellington is a difficult dish to get all the elements right but they did it. Hokkaido Scallops perfectly translucent, not over cooked - delicious. Prawn linguini carbonara, another difficult dish to get right was done right! Staff are experienced, they know the menu and what they're doing. This is a neighborhood gem that never disappoints.

Worth the drive across the lions gate bridge! At the time of this review I would probably say this is my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is nothing but exceptional and the service is 5*. Definitely make a reservation as even happy hour had this restaurant fully booked on a weekend. My top recommendations are the salmon tar tar and the salmon Wellington.

Came here for HH and some seafood, which Vancouver is known for. The oysters tasted like the ocean, a nice salty and brine taste. The mussels were ginormous and prawns were absolutely delicious. The paella had its own unique flavor and twist from your typical recipe, which is something to consider. The service was fantastic. I highly recommend stopping here to get some fresh Vancouver seafood.

Can't say enough about this place! The service is top notch- the servers are very attentive and made us feel welcomed. Since it was a pretty sunny day, we opted to eat outdoors. It's a nice set up with heaters for cold nights and a wheelchair ramp. The main road was right there with all the accompanying traffic noise but it didn't bother us because we were focused on the delicious food! Happy hour is 1600-1700 so we took advantage of the prices. The appetizers were about $15-$16. Warm bread came out with what I thought was sweet potato hummus in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This was followed by our choices- we pretty much ordered everything on the happy hour menu except the ahi because bring from Hawaii, we can get ahi all the time. *Oysters on the half shell was $1.75 each with a 6 per person max- sweet meat. Made short work of those *ceviche $15- chunks of fish with roasted pine nuts and huge corn kernels. Perfectly marinated and the nuts added flavor *1 lb of clams $18- the broth was very good- we asked for more bread to sop it up. Clams were tender *seared scallops $16- four oh so tender scallops on eggplant strips. *crispy shrimp (2) and squid breaded in a light batter. Crispy not greasy or tough. Clam chowder $10- wasn't part of the happy hour menu but the 4 year old is a clam chowder fan. Judging by the way he ate, it was good. The grownups did manage to sample few spoonfuls and yes, it was creamy but not too thick. Lots of clams in it. * We also sampled the happy hour lager $5 for 16 oz The feast fed 4 adults and a preschooler and for what we had- well worth it! On top of that, we got complimentary dark chocolates in shape of fishes- house made. Oh so good-not too sweet and the dark chocolate was the perfect end of an amazing meal! Mahalo from some very happy diners from Hawaii! We will definitely come back when we're up here again!

My best friend H, told me about this place. She said we have to try their Happy Hour deal. So B, H and I came here for dinner. It was to celebrate H graduating and becoming a full fledge P.Eng. We are super happy for her. We ordered the following items off of their Happy Hour menu: 1) Mussels $15 2) Fish and Chips $15 3) Oysters $1.50 Each For the price, it was already a wow deal. Portion size was regular/ full meal size. The food was super delicious. Service was great. Our meal also came with complementary bread. Service was wonderful. The restaurant is not big. So you have to come early or prepare to wait. I made a reservation before hand so we didn't have to wait. At the end, when the bill came, we each got complementary truffle chocolate. We didn't drive our car down here. We actually walked here. Parking can be hard to find especially on a beautiful day. I highly recommend trying this restaurant.

    Fresh oysters...yum!!

My boyfriend and I were in a seafood mood and ordered the following: Seafood Tower: A showstopper. Beautifully presented, overflowing with fresh oysters, chilled prawns, lobster rolls, caviche, and tuna tartar. Everything tasted fresh and ocean-sweet but the lobster rolls buns were getting wet and soggy from the plate to ice condensation - an oversight on presentation logistics. Wagyu Carpaccio: Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The wagyu was sliced paper thin and had that rich, buttery texture you hope for. The shaved truffle garnishe added just enough flavour without overshadowing the beef. Served with a few pieces of sourdough bread, it was one of my favourites. Roasted Chicken: I know--ordering chicken at a seafood-forward spot felt risky, but it ended up being one of the surprise standouts. Perfectly roasted with crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. It was served with a zesty sauce and roasted vegetables and really homey and tasty. Scallops Risotto: Creamy, aromatic, and cooked to that ideal al dente bite. The scallops were seared beautifully--golden on the outside and tender inside. Service was warm and attentive, and the coastal-chic atmosphere made the whole experience feel relaxed but still special. If you're anywhere near the area, Seaside Provisions is worth a visit especially since they have a Happy Hour.

Back to being a 5 star establishment (imho). We ordered the following: Chicken n Waffles Salmon Gravlax Bagel Mushroom Toast Iced Guava Matcha Latte We ordered Chicken n Waffles before on one of our previous visits. I don't remember it being such a huge dish. My memory is possibly a bit shaky, or else it's gotten bigger from before. Either way, the Chicken n Waffles was an impressive serving size. There were leftovers and it's going to be someone's lunch again for at least one more meal if not two! The poached eggs on both the Salmon Gravlax Bagel and the Mushroom Toast were perfectly done. Loved how soft and runny the yolk was. Flavors and texture in both dishes were on point. I could definitely taste the truffle oil in the Mushroom Toast and loved the crispiness of the Enoki Mushroom Tempura. I'm usually not a fan of Enoki Mushrooms but I quite enjoyed them being served as tempura. Also loved the Iced Guava Matcha Latte. I could taste both the Guava and the Matcha flavors. Neither flavor was so overwhelming that it took away from the other flavor. An absolutely delightful meal and I will continue to look forward to coming here again and again! Their desserts are also gorgeous looking. I've never gotten around to buying one yet but I promise myself I will buy one to bring home one day. Usually too stuffed from lunch at this place to sit there and eat a dessert after the lunch, so bringing dessert home seems to make more sense.

I just had an Original Gimbap and a Vege Gimbap for myself. It was a hot summer's day so I just didn't feel like ordering hot food. Everyone else ordered hot food though. Other dishes on the table included Seafood Noodles, Pork Kimchi Stew, Soft Tofu Stew, Fried Chicken, and Kimchi Fried Rice. My one gripe would be that they took a super long time bringing out my daughter's Chicken Katsu. Everyone else had their food for quite awhile but she sat waiting and waiting for her Chicken Katsu. When we asked about it, they said it was coming soon. But that's what they always say when you ask about something that's taking a long time to come, right?
