Well now I was pleasantly surprised about how good this Steveston Village gem was. Located upstairs - take the elevator if you want - Catch Kitchen & Bar, offers excellent quality food & spectacular water views of Steveston Wharf. How have I not been here before!? I have now come out of the dark & entered into - the Catch. A spacious restaurant - will easily accommodate large groups, parties etcetera. Will satisfy those on 'date night' as well. Rebeca, our sever was magnificent. She was pleasant, friendly & outgoing. I had the Prawn & Scallop Linguine - it was very good. In fact, everyone was quite pleased with what they ordered - so thumbs up to eating here. Dessert was so-so ... my Lava Cake was tired - not up to Cactus Club Cafe level or a cruise. The Sticky Toffee - not as good as the one at Britannia, also in Steveston Village. So hence, I would not recommend the dessert here. Regardless, I'd definitely recommend eating here. Come early before sunset for the view.

The most impressive thing about this restaurant is the ambience and most beautiful views in Steveston bar none . Their restrooms are spotless . We came for brunch and the food and service were lovely . Coffee is with free refills and the birthday person can request a free dessert . A nice touch . Prices will be a bit higher due to the location .

Perfectly cooked burger with a juicy patty. The staff were great and allowed me to sub for shoestring fries instead of the thick cut. Great service too

I was craving for seafood and my friend recommended this restaurant as one of the best in town!!! Well decor with a beautiful view. Their customer service was amazing and their food were so yummy. We started with a delicious #Calamari accompanied by #prosecco my main dish was #fishandchips and my partner had seafood fettuccine puttanesca!!! Both of them were incredible delish!!! Love the food and love the experience! Hopefully you will enjoy this place! #

Our friends from Richmond suggested this restaurant in Steveston Village to meet for lunch. It overlooks the south arm of the Fraser River on the second floor. Place is spacious and bright- a pleasant vibe. The big boys ordered each a crabmeat chowder, fish+chips and fried calamari. Chowder has no crabmeat only corn and potato but quite tasty, not salty at all. F&Chips has 2 pcs of small sized fish wrapped in decent batter(not too thick, not thin crust neither) Chips not crispy, normal soft like the ones from England. Highly recommend the calamari--very lightly breaded and not overcooked, melts in da mouth. The big gals each ordered the tuna poke with a lot of vegetables-- plenty of veggie and rice ok; but the handful of tuna cubes are heavily marinated with no sweet taste at all, not as fresh a tuna that I expect being a 'seafood' restaurant! Again forgot to take pics but you can see the Split bill for the prices!

We came on a Saturday night for dinner. We ordered the steak Mushroom salad and the mussels and clams. The steak Mushroom salad was okay. The steak was chewy. Portion of the salad was good. If you don't like blue cheese don't order this. There is a lot of blue cheese. The fried onions were not crispy at all. If this was changed it would have been much better because of the added crunch. The mussels and clams were okay. Flavour wise it was a bit lacking but the portion was pretty good. The focaccia bread was nice for dipping but the sauce from the seafood didn't have much flavour. Overall service was really good. Not overly attentive but very fast. The food is Mediocre but this place is here to sell the view. You come here to sit on the patio and enjoy the sun. The food is the accompaniment. I wouldn't come back but this is a nice place to just enjoy the location and not the food

Catch is located in Steveston. My client picked this restaurant for dinner. The decor was very nice. If you are sitting close to the water, you will be able to get the beautiful water view or the view of the dock. I ordered the Herb Crusted Halibut. The dish was delicious. The seafood was fresh. I did find the portion size of the fish as at the smaller end. I also ordered a non achoholic drink (sprite, passion fruit juice with orange juice). The drink is not on the menu. The service was ok. The server didn't come by until we try to flag her down. The inside of the restaurant has that rustic at the sea feeling. It is a nice restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is somewhat hidden near the back and the signage is a bit confusing. Overall, if you have never been to the restaurant, I recommend coming here to try their food.

Busy during lunchtime on a Wednesday, slight 10min wait for a table. If you luck out and get a table by a window, enjoy the great views of the harbour/water. Only 3 service staff to handle a full lunch crowd. Very fast and friendly service However........ Never ever order the fish and chips Ordered the one piece fish & chips, 2 pieces for an extra $3. Look at the photo, as other reviews have mentioned, the one piece of fish was about the size of my middle finger, fish to fries ratio was about 1 to 3. Very meager fish portion. The accompanied coleslaw was flavorless, just slivers of cabbage with no seasoning. The only redeeming value was at least the fries were hand cut and not frozen. Staff and views are a plus, however, totally let down by the very small fish portions

Great food! All fresh ingredients fantastically flavoured. Good service and a spectacular ocean view. As seafood enthusiasts, we had a great time there and will dine there in our next trip to Steveston.

After walking around the waterfront a bit, my friend and I were super hungry and decided to check this place out after seeing nice pictures of it on Yelp. The hostess was SUPER nice and friendly, acknowledging us from the moment we came in and apologizing for being busy (we didn't even mind). She then gave us a window table at our request, saying how we were lucky as there was only one more seat haha. Even our waiter was really friendly and easy to talk to. Love love loved the service here. We got a couple drinks and a salad and pasta to share. It was a bit pricer but very good. And watching the sunset as we were dining was an amazing experience. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back to this place. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nicer dining experience at the waterfront!

Excellent patio and great oyster selection. Service is always friendly.

Fish and chips (1 pc) and Leek and bacon chicken

Visited for lunch on a hot and sunny day, since most of the boardwalk was packed. When we first came in, we saw that the interior was surprisingly empty. We were seated at a nice booth next to a window when we saw everyone on their small patio nearly packed together like sardines, with different parties almost sitting back-to-back with one another. Mind you, we came when Covid was at it's peak in BC, so this was quite concerning to see, as the restaurants on the boardwalk had people sitting at least 1 table distance apart from one another. We ordered the go-to caesar and Moscow mule, and the caesar was delicious! Surprisingly, it wasn't too salty like some Caesars are (cough Cactus Club) and came with a great tasting pepperoni stick. I found the mule too be watered down and not as strong as other places. For the mains, we ordered a 1 piece fish and chips and the Leek and bacon chicken. The food took almost an hour to arrive, and we watched some YouTube videos to kill time. We had other plans so the long wait time while the restaurant was more than half empty was disappointing. When it arrived, I wasn't too impressed with the smaller-than-expected piece of fish on the mountain of fries. The fish itself was great and flaky, but the ratio of fish to fries was way off. I tried to alternate between bites but in the end I was still left with a big pile of fries. Wasn't a fan of either the coleslaw or the tartar sauce, which just tasted like plain ol' mayo. For $16 and better size, quality and tartar at the many fish and chips places nearby, I'm not sure I would get this again. The Leek and bacon chicken was quite juicy and flavourful, and was very rich so the portion size was just right. Our server was very sweet, but other than that, the food and our overall experience here was very mediocre.

There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by. They open till 12 midnight or 1 am. Nice sized parking lot in front and back of the building.

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!
