Milltown Bar & Grill absolutely hit the spot! We stopped in on our way back into the States and I'm so glad we did. I ordered the burger and a margarita, and both were fantastic. The burger tasted fresh and juicy, and that margarita was exactly what I needed -- perfectly balanced and refreshing. The atmosphere is beautiful, too. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and watch the sunset while enjoying great food and drinks. Milltown Bar & Grill gave us the perfect ending to our trip. Can't wait to come back! read more

Fantastic food. Service is wonderful. Seating, both indoors and out, is great and being by the waterfront is always a plus to me. It can be hard to find but as someone who walks, even taking transit then having a stroll to get there makes it even a greater experience. The Ambiance is very lively and upscale family oriented. Will always recommend it here. read more

Man, this local place hit the SPOT! After a day of traveling and working? I needed a place to wind down and eat some comfort food! I grew up in Seattle- a short drive to the south- and was missing me some seafood! I ordered up a couple local brews (IPA's if anyone is asking) and checked out the menu! I quickly focused on the fish and chips! 2pcs just to be safe! As I started to drink the beer, the fish and chips showed up! With a nice little tub of tartar sauce, and a nice little tub of ketchup for the fries- the way God intended! The fish was lightly breaded nicely fried and tasted absolutely fantastic! Especially with that great tartar sauce! Even the coleslaw tasted pretty epic! Now let me tell you this place was definitely a sports bar because tonight the USA was playing Belgium in the FIFA. World Cup and the place was lively as hell! So did I enjoy it? Heck yeah! I will be back and you should go and try it once too, and I'll bet you would agree. This place is where you want to be! read more

Milltown Bar & Grill - Fish and chips - Canadian (New) Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Kind of hidden restaurant serving typical all American/bar foods. Seating is very nice, there's indoor, outdoor, and semi outdoor patio. Outdoor seating on a nice day so nice, indoor seating is a bit loud and kind of crowded, the patio seating is nice mix of both worlds. We sat on the covered patio and had a good time (a bit spider webby though). We ordered the wings, a cornbread (it's a muffin), the milltown burger and the moroccan lamb burger. The wings, in the hot flavor. Typical hot wings with buffalo sauce. Not spicy, very vinegary and pungent. Nice size, very crispy. Fair price for the amount you get. Really good overall. Cornbread (muffin). Really good. Kind of an odd thing to have as an appetizer, but so good actually with the sweetened butter, both were so good. Milltown burger. Not sure if we ordered it correctly but it's just a very plain burger no condiments or cheese (not sure if these were options, we didn't ask and weren't asked). Cooked very nicely. Otherwise a pretty run of the mill burger. Fries and tartar sauce were really good. The Moroccan lamb burger, nicely cooked, heavy on the sumac a little greasy. Not tons of lamb flavor. Not bad at all. The halloumi didn't have much of a taste maybe it was me? Who knows but it paired nicely with the beet and arugula salad. The salad was very very good. Price wise, very fair I feel, 67 usd 93 CAD for 2 apps and 2 entrees? Staff were very accommodating as well even with a very full restaurant. Nice people nice experience. Would recommend if you have the patience to travel to the location. read more

We had a overall enjoyable time at the Milltown River patio . For me the Best patio in Richmond . The food is quite good . Love their yam fries . The place has a happy vibe with a joyful staff. The only critique was the food took quite a while to get to our table at least 35-40 min . read more

It was hard to choose where to sit because they have three outdoor areas and two inside. All have a different view and vibe. This time it's inside next to the waiters station (not great due to smell of cleaning rags but easy to get attention). Service was attentive and friendly. We shared a main, the Moroccan Lamb Burger with Yam fries and they split into two plates. Very nice. It was very good with the right amount of spice. We both got a dessert. Mine the chocolate mousse made with avocado (very dense and rich). Partner got the key lime on coconut which didn't do it for me but was interesting albeit not a fresh lime flavour. Next time I want to try the Sunday Prime rib on the deck. read more

I was in town for an overnight work trip and came across this fantastic local spot. I sat at the bar and met the owner, Scotty. It's rare these days to see an owner working behind the bar and providing such great service personally. His interaction with both the customers and staff was exceptional and refreshing. The food was good, and the location right on the water is hard to beat. If you're looking for a local place with good food, a great atmosphere, and friendly staff, definitely check out Milltown. read more

Really nice place to grab a burger and drinks with friends! It was a beautiful day with sunny weather so eating on the patio could be nice. The restaurant is a little secluded right next to the river. During a soccer *ahem* I mean "football" match, it's best to sit inside among the multitude of large screen TVs. It also helps there was a heat wave. I went here for a work dinner so there was a sizeable group of us. Service was slightly delayed...but totally understandable. (There was a large crowd for the game and our party had multiple tables.) The Milltown Burger with mushrooms was delicious! My mouth is watering just remembering it. I definitely recommend it. I bookmarked Milltown just in case I come back to Vancouver! read more

We were looking for a place to have a nice small lunch. This place popped up and we were like, let's go try them. This was not a mistake, looked like we were going to a sleazy place when paying attention to the drive. But when we got closer, we realized we picked a popular locals place. We ordered the truffle fries, honey garlic wings and the wild mushroom flatbread. We were astounded by the presentation and flavor of everything! Wouldn't have changed anything. If you are in the area looking for really great food for a decent price and nice ambiance, then Milltown Bar & Grill is a must for you! Enjoy. read more

Why is it impossible to find decent fish and chips in GVRD??? I went here last night and got the worst fish and chips in recent memory. I have never had Rockfish but I thought what can I lose? The staff was friendly but the food was a 3 out of 10. First off the chips were frozen and overcooked to the point they were inedible. I could have broke a tooth on some of them. Nice pub environment on the river watching the planes land. Great food service and location!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE So it's certainly out of the way, but good eats at a reasonable price await in this hidden gem! === 2. FOOD I ordered the Milltown Burger ($18) and it came with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and a slice of pickle; adding sautéed mushrooms for $1.50 made it better. What's nice is that your side can be half fries and half house salad for $1.50, making the meal a little lighter or more guilt-free :) === 3. SERVICE Nothing special per se but it was good and professional. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's definitely a bar of course but what's neat is the "sun room" area where you can sit and get lots of natural light. Likely better in winter as in the summer it gets a little warm. Wheelchairs and baby strollers are no issue here, as are groups of any size. The parking lot is tremendous, so parking should not ever be an issue! read more

The food was absolutely delicious, we had great service, and the ambience is very casual. They've got outdoor seating when the weather is nice. They've got indoor seating when it is inclement. The price is reasonable for what you get. The food tasted fresh and it came to us hot. They have a large parking lot so plenty of room for you to get in there, and not walk too far. They have different themed nights like trivia nights, pizza night, taco night, whatever you want so I say check it out. You will not be disappointed. read more

Food 3.5/5 Service 3/5 Ambiance 4/5 Prices 3/5 Parking 5/5 Went for brunch recently with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. I love the scenery of where the restaurant is and there is so much parking here! The food is good but a tad overpriced for what you get. I had the burger with salad and it was delicious but way too small for my preference. I was still hungry afterwards and my bill came to $25.50 after tips. Thank god no tax for now. Way overpriced for such little food. I probably won't be back as I do like bigger portions as I am a very athletic person that can eat lots. But I hope they do well as the restaurant is situated in a very scenic location by the river. read more

Thursday 8 pm = trivia night. Trivia night was GREAT. So fun and well-organized. Milltown is in a really interesting location in this industrial area right around YVR. Plenty of parking. I heard they put out outdoor seating spaces in the summer with lights, which I can assume is very pretty. All of us in the group got burgers and they were fine. Nothing to be mind blown about. It was nice that we could modify the sides to truffle fries or yam fries with a small fee. I think of the all the burgers, the salmon burger was probably the best one there. Service was quick and professional, but nothing spectacular. read more

Been here 3 times had good food and service. Breakfast once and lunch twice. Enjoyed the experience and the location is great.

It had been years since i was here. Even though i just live within walking distance . The surprising think is they are still serving the same tasteless slop they pour out of a prepackaged bag and quickly microwave .i ordered their seafood linguine . It says shrimp salmon crab and cod .Well as soon as i got it i took inventory . It consisted of o e small pice of dry overcook salmon 4 shrimp some unidentifiable fish small pice .No Crab not even fake crab . When i told the owner its false advertising . He said its there even if you can't see it...or taste it . I then paid anyway . After paid he said oh you forgot to tip . I said no i didn't its there...you just can't see it . read more

Water view, vibe, breeze, chill and delicious food enjoyable with your friends and family. You can get all the above here. This place is located at such a unique spot. As they say that they're technically in Richmond, but you can only get there from SW Marine Drive (Marpole area). I loved the vibe of this place both indoor and outdoor. They have outdoor seating by Fraser River which is great on a sunny day. There is also enclosed seating with clear covering, and the bar and dining areas. This experience was a 4.5 star overall. My friend and I ordered: - Sesame-crusted Yellowfin Tuna Salad - Steak Frites (10 oz New York steak) - Banana Xango with Vanilla Ice Cream (Daily dessert creation) - Mini Doughnuts Everything had exceeded my expectations. I think partly due to some not-so-good reviews in the past. To be fair, I was quite happy about the food for this first visit. So fresh, seasoned on point and cooked to perfection! My salad was absolutely delightfully delicious. The miso vinaigrette was the soul of the dish. It brings life to all the mixed greens, oranges, watermelon radish, carrots, avocado and quinoa. The yellowfin tuna was also very yummy! Even though it's a salad dish, it is filling if you're not too hungry. My friend's medium rare New York steak was well seasoned and flavourful on every bite of its tenderness. Yum yum! The fries were crispy on the outside to my liking. Even though we were kinda full after the main course, my friend raved about the mini doughnuts, especially the gingery dipping sauce, so we had to order the dessert. The sauce had a hint of ginger yet not spicy or anything like that. It elevates the taste of these doughy sweets with a thin crusty outer layer. The server introduced their daily dessert creation, banana xango. It was very appealing just by its descriptions. Deep fried roll with banana, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Served with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel. So so delicious! They take reservation for a party of 6 or more. I went on a Saturday around 6ish. We only waited for a few minutes for a table for two. The host, the server and expediter we had were very friendly. There are plenty of free parking. I'll definitely go back to try other dishes such as their Sunday prime ribs and be surprised by their daily dessert creation. read more

This is one of those times I wish Yelp had more stars to give. The drive out to Milltown Bar and Grill is slightly sketch but when you round the last curve you see it was well worth the drive. The restaurant is on a little island and the views are beautiful. There's ample parking in the huge lot. They have a lot of outdoor picnic tables and covered outdoor seating. The service was great. The staff was friendly and our server was attentive. Now the best part...the food. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were pretty good. The Battleship burger was so juicy and flavorful. It was also plated well. The star of the show was the Chicken Freighter Burger. The words I'm going to use aren't going to do it any justice, you'll have to try it yourself. The chicken breast was well seasoned and juicy. Sometimes I end up with a dry chicken breast but not here...it wasn't too thick or too thin and it was seared to perfection. The bacon was the perfect level of crispy. You know just crispy enough that you have to bite through it but not so crispy that it breaks into pieces in your mouth. The pale ale bbq sauce and the gouda cheese mixed together and made the most mouthwatering flavor I've ever had on a chicken sandwich. Seriously you gotta try it for yourself. The caramel appletini was really good but the lime margarita left a lot to be desired. Check it out and let me know what you think! read more

Located on what feels like a little island escape from the city, but in reality accessible only from Vancouver but the actual address is in Richmond, Milltown boasts some calming beautiful views along the Fraser River, in a spacious red rustic building. We came on a Sunday evening to watch the Seahawks play but unfortunately had not made a reservation so tip #1: MAKE A RESERVATION on weekends and probably Friday night. I have only eaten here about 2-3 times since this place opened, but have attempted to come probably 5-6 times but this place is always packed! It is convenient located at the very bottom of the Arbutus Greenway so in the summer expect to see many people waiting outside on their bikes to have a cold beer and relaxing scenery. I got the Tug Boat burger which was the mushroom beef burger and it was juicy and delicious. I got fries and asked for some mayo and combined it with the extra horseradish we ordered from the next meal listed below and it was divine! And since we were there on the Sunday, they had a prime rib dinner with Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and mashed potatoes. Horseradish is extra and you can add an extra Yorkshire pudding for a few bucks. Unfortunately... My fiancé got his favourite item: Beef Dip. It was awful. It was supposedly on a fresh baked bread but it literally was like one of those store bought frozen bread "Things" you throw into the oven. It was flat, cold and pale and not like a crusty delicious roll. It was not memorable for any right reason. Great beer choices and of course a variety of cocktails and wine. Remember - make the reservation! read more

Off the beaten path, this is a fantastic destination whether you get her by car, bike or boat. They have a great full service picnic table area right by the water, covered patio and dine in restaurant. The servers here are also lovely. I came here with my family of 9 and they were happy to accommodate to include a baby as well. I just called ahead to reserve a large table. We came for the prime rib Sunday special and the portion was huge! And the horseradish was no push over. One of the strongest ones I have had in awhile. Our cuts were perfect. Beautiful gummy creamy mashed potatoes and some beans. The Yorkie was okay but I'd still come back for the prime rib any day for only $22! read more

One of our new favorites. A popular bar located in Vancouver, but technically a part of Richmond. This place is a little off the beaten path as you need to access it by driving around a marina. But, you can't miss it due to the bright red color. At the entrance, the hostess will check your COVID-19 vaccination card. You will be told what seating options are available; in the summer, you can opt for picnic benches by the water. We prefer the booths, which are more comfortable than the bar stools or the chairs at the tables. The menu is accessed via QR code, but paper menus are available upon request. Waitress/servers appear to be high school students, and they often are too busy mingling with each other to take notice of patrons. On several occasions, we'd have to flag someone down as the waitress/servers did not make the rounds, even though there were more staff than customers. When you do eventually get someone's attention, and place your order, the food doesn't take long to arrive. We always order one of the salads. Our favorite is the "Gangway Chicken Salad" which features candied pecans, goats cheese and an amazing honey-lime vinaigrette. It is sweet and refreshing. Our daughter will order one of the kid-sized pizzas which are so large, they could feed an adult. Their chicken wings are good, but we've only tried the hot and honey garlic flavours; sweet Thai and salt/pepper are the two other flavours offered. Wings are smaller and drier than I'd prefer, but acceptable. The burgers here are amazing, and HUGE. The Battleship and Tug Boat burgers are sure to please, and rival those offered at White Spot and others. While the burgers and pizza are fair values, the best bang-for-the-buck is the $20 Sunday Prime Rib Special: an 8-oz prime rib with mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Sadly, there is a surcharge for horseradish (30 cents). Is it as good as prime rib at the Keg? Close, but 2/3 the cost. We've also tried the full rack of pork ribs, steak frites, Jambalaya and Pistachio Striped Bass. Everything is competitively priced, and good if not great. Go on a weekday evening if you want to avoid lineups. But, it is worth the wait to get in. read more

Awesome location, fun atmosphere, excellent service, but not a great selection of food if you're vegetarian. I've been here a few times, and every time I've ordered their margarita pizza. Been here quite a few times. Don't get me wrong, I love the location, I love the view and I love the post-Covid outdoor seating areas. Food's not bad either, so I will visit again...There are just somethings I wish they'd improve on. I'm just going to rate it mostly on my last experience here. In terms of food, my Battleship Burger's flavour was good, but nobody likes a soggy bottom, that just takes away from the whole burger experience and my yam fries was too salty. The prime rib my sister ordered was "well done" instead of medium rare like she asked for. I'm not sure if it's because we were seated outside and only 1 girl was serving everyone outside. But it was hard to get any service. It's not terrible service, just not great. For example, at first before we even settled down they kept coming back to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. No menu was offered until we asked for it and they expected us to just know there's a QR code on the table to scan for a menu without explaining anything. (We do, but at least point it out or make an effort to explain?). You might ask for hot water or a coffee refill, and it takes 20 minutes to get it. Utensils were never given to us until we asked for it. I'm hoping this is a one off food and service experience, cause I used to really like this place pre-Covid. And honestly, food's still pretty darn good despite what I mentioned. And normally, service was stellar. And if you have younger kids, sitting outside is great for them to view all the different modes of transportation. It keeps them nicely occupied and not glued to the screen all the time. read more

Sunday's call for prime rib. Thankfully, Milltown Bar and Grill has us covered! Not part of most people's commutes, Milltown is found in a little known part of Richmond that can only be accessed by a single road out of the Marpole area of Vancouver. The area around the shop is beautiful and picturesque. The place was super busy at 530 on a Sunday evening. Being the first week of the NFL season probably contributed that as well. Our wait for a table of four was about five to ten minutes. Staff was buzzing around, but every table seemed to get taken care of without too much of concern. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The prime rib special is popular. It was at every table and comes with 8oz of prime rib, seasonal veggies, mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding, and gravy. A beverage order is required to take advantage of their prime rib special, but it doesn't not need to be alcoholic. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but would have preferred the yorkshire pudding and gravy to be hotter when served. I can imagine it tasting better if it were freshly out the oven. My only wish is that they'd let you buy a larger cut for folks like me with bigger appetites. However, I suppose they were doing me a favour by not allowing me to over-eat. Would I return? For sure. It's a decent deal in and I'm curious to try some of their other dishes. read more

We've come here a few times and it's always been a solid dining experience. The staff are always very welcoming so expect to have great service. Interesting fact that it's technically in Richmond but located on the Vancouver side. So let's get to the food. The portions are large and reasonably priced. We started off with their loaded barge nachos. Their small order is enough to feed a small army so not sure how many their large could feed. Maybe two armies? My wife had the halibut tacos which were very tasty with the fish being nice, flakey and flavorful. I had the tugboat burger and it was as expected. Juicy beef patty with fresh lettuce and tomatoes on a solid bun. It looks like they have a weekly live band but don't think that is happening now. Overall, I recommend coming here as it seems like you get a delightful marina-side dining experience. read more

So I'm not a huge fan of prime rib, I'll eat it once a year type thing, but my husband loves it! And after eating Milltown's version....I'm a major fan! This is amazing. They do a special on Sunday night for pick up, you need to order by a Friday morning. Two prime rib dinners with Yorkshire pudding, garlic mash, gravy and veg with sugar doubghnuts for dessert, $35!! The prime rib is perfectly cooked, tender, full of flavour and if you like a lot of marbled fat, this is for you. The gravy was thick and full of peppercorn beef flavour and the mash is garlic and super creamy. The asparagus was cooked just perfect, it still had a nice crunchy bite, which I love.
