Mill town burger with mushrooms. Side of fries and salad
John B.

Really nice place to grab a burger and drinks with friends! It was a beautiful day with sunny weather so eating on the patio could be nice. The restaurant is a little secluded right next to the river. During a soccer *ahem* I mean "football" match, it's best to sit inside among the multitude of large screen TVs. It also helps there was a heat wave. I went here for a work dinner so there was a sizeable group of us. Service was slightly delayed...but totally understandable. (There was a large crowd for the game and our party had multiple tables.) The Milltown Burger with mushrooms was delicious! My mouth is watering just remembering it. I definitely recommend it. I bookmarked Milltown just in case I come back to Vancouver!

We were looking for a place to have a nice small lunch. This place popped up and we were like, let's go try them. This was not a mistake, looked like we were going to a sleazy place when paying attention to the drive. But when we got closer, we realized we picked a popular locals place. We ordered the truffle fries, honey garlic wings and the wild mushroom flatbread. We were astounded by the presentation and flavor of everything! Wouldn't have changed anything. If you are in the area looking for really great food for a decent price and nice ambiance, then Milltown Bar & Grill is a must for you! Enjoy.

Milltown Burger ($18) with mushrooms ($1.50) and half of each side ($1.50) - awesome!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE So it's certainly out of the way, but good eats at a reasonable price await in this hidden gem! === 2. FOOD I ordered the Milltown Burger ($18) and it came with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and a slice of pickle; adding sautéed mushrooms for $1.50 made it better. What's nice is that your side can be half fries and half house salad for $1.50, making the meal a little lighter or more guilt-free :) === 3. SERVICE Nothing special per se but it was good and professional. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's definitely a bar of course but what's neat is the "sun room" area where you can sit and get lots of natural light. Likely better in winter as in the summer it gets a little warm. Wheelchairs and baby strollers are no issue here, as are groups of any size. The parking lot is tremendous, so parking should not ever be an issue!

Tuna club

An interesting take on a tuna club for lunch today! Seared tuna in the middle of a sandwich with nice fixings, but physically difficult to eat from a bite size and stringy-ness factor. Great location and a lot of tables enjoying the sunshine outside.

This is one of those times I wish Yelp had more stars to give. The drive out to Milltown Bar and Grill is slightly sketch but when you round the last curve you see it was well worth the drive. The restaurant is on a little island and the views are beautiful. There's ample parking in the huge lot. They have a lot of outdoor picnic tables and covered outdoor seating. The service was great. The staff was friendly and our server was attentive. Now the best part...the food. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were pretty good. The Battleship burger was so juicy and flavorful. It was also plated well. The star of the show was the Chicken Freighter Burger. The words I'm going to use aren't going to do it any justice, you'll have to try it yourself. The chicken breast was well seasoned and juicy. Sometimes I end up with a dry chicken breast but not here...it wasn't too thick or too thin and it was seared to perfection. The bacon was the perfect level of crispy. You know just crispy enough that you have to bite through it but not so crispy that it breaks into pieces in your mouth. The pale ale bbq sauce and the gouda cheese mixed together and made the most mouthwatering flavor I've ever had on a chicken sandwich. Seriously you gotta try it for yourself. The caramel appletini was really good but the lime margarita left a lot to be desired. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Beef dip. Don't get it.

Located on what feels like a little island escape from the city, but in reality accessible only from Vancouver but the actual address is in Richmond, Milltown boasts some calming beautiful views along the Fraser River, in a spacious red rustic building. We came on a Sunday evening to watch the Seahawks play but unfortunately had not made a reservation so tip #1: MAKE A RESERVATION on weekends and probably Friday night. I have only eaten here about 2-3 times since this place opened, but have attempted to come probably 5-6 times but this place is always packed! It is convenient located at the very bottom of the Arbutus Greenway so in the summer expect to see many people waiting outside on their bikes to have a cold beer and relaxing scenery. I got the Tug Boat burger which was the mushroom beef burger and it was juicy and delicious. I got fries and asked for some mayo and combined it with the extra horseradish we ordered from the next meal listed below and it was divine! And since we were there on the Sunday, they had a prime rib dinner with Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and mashed potatoes. Horseradish is extra and you can add an extra Yorkshire pudding for a few bucks. Unfortunately... My fiancé got his favourite item: Beef Dip. It was awful. It was supposedly on a fresh baked bread but it literally was like one of those store bought frozen bread "Things" you throw into the oven. It was flat, cold and pale and not like a crusty delicious roll. It was not memorable for any right reason. Great beer choices and of course a variety of cocktails and wine. Remember - make the reservation!

Off the beaten path, this is a fantastic destination whether you get her by car, bike or boat. They have a great full service picnic table area right by the water, covered patio and dine in restaurant. The servers here are also lovely. I came here with my family of 9 and they were happy to accommodate to include a baby as well. I just called ahead to reserve a large table. We came for the prime rib Sunday special and the portion was huge! And the horseradish was no push over. One of the strongest ones I have had in awhile. Our cuts were perfect. Beautiful gummy creamy mashed potatoes and some beans. The Yorkie was okay but I'd still come back for the prime rib any day for only $22!

Features bar seating, booths, comfy chairs with fireplace, and an upper level with large table seating for big groups. Had many a great night here over many years as it provided a nice respite from all the crazy nightclub activity on Granville St. Sadly, they will be closing soon and will be dearly missed. The memories of the Morrissey Pub will live on in those who frequented it, and I will cherish mine.

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
