They seated us in the covered patio area which was nice as it's brighter, but it was quite loud and a bit stuffy. TL/DR : Fair prices. Very, very generous portions. 10/10 , WILL return. This will be a very hard review to do on my part. It's so good, I don't want others to know about this restaurant, but that's not fair to the excellent staff and restaurant. It does breakfasts and lunch/dinner. 4 of us went to lunch. The Ladies shared the calamari appetizer (good portion, with a nice sauce, don't worry about the jalapeño peppers) and the guys had the potato skins with bacon (10+ pieces, none of that 4 or 6 pieces) Lunch was Mussels (a huge plate of shells once SWMBO finished), my love had the seafood salad sandwich (with a Caesar salad which we took home). ETB had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and I had the cheeseburger with bacon added (and fries). Portions are very, very generous. Prices are "current" environment ( not high, not cheap eg. The cheeseburger with bacon and fries $22). Scenery is interesting as it's the Harbour Air terminal right on the Fraser river at YVR Airport South. Parking at the site is small but across the road is 3 hour parking that's free. read more

How have I not reviewed the Flying Beaver?! This is close to the south terminal of the airport and quite hidden away (side note: my boyfriend and I had our forest date here and I honestly thought he had invited me to a strip bar hahahaha! Thankfully, it was not ) Decent pub menu and there are very pretty sunsets to behold here. Service staff are young but friendly and energetic. I think management gets away with under staffing, so service may take a while. Food and drink is decent value, but don't expect a lot ; for example, Costco fries and whitefish fish and chips. Popular with families and seniors for their daily specials. Wonderful little bar tucked away hear the airport area. You need to follow a windy road to get here. Free parking lot. This is a wonderful place just off the Frazier river. There is a view of the river and I'm sure it gets busy during the summer. Came here during winter and there's not a lot of people. Friendly wait staff with good solid food. read more

We were there this afternoon for lunch. To our delight, Flying Beaver continues to have the Dine Out Vancouver event extended to Valentine Day. We ordered the DOV menu & had a 3 course lunch for $29 plus tax. You cannot beat the prices. The food was good, we found the dessert a tad sweet, it was rich! If you have a sweet tooth... that's the dessert for you. There was 3 of us & we each ordered a different appetizer. Spring rolls was fresh & crunch with pieces of duck meat in them. Their signature clam chowder has been my hubby's favourite. The salad was good with crunchy roasted walnuts & feta cheese. Overall an excellent lunch. We love coming hear anytime we are close to the airport. Fun watching the seaplanes go in and out and take off or land. Service is super friendly and even the bar staff greeted us upon arrival. There is always a wait time here so come prepared to wait patiently. We went on Father's Day June 2025 and it was packed. Initially they told us 45 mins wait but we ended up getting a table in 20 mins as the staff managed the crowd really well. We snagged a table in the sunroom and our view was beautiful. We saw the sea planes take off and land it was a nice touch. Food was great. We had nachos, lemon pepper wings and fish tacos (no picture as we gobbled them in a second). Lemon pepper wings were fantastic and so were the fish tacos - so light and fresh with the mango salsa. Nachos were very sparsely filled so it was just chips so that's a thumbs down. For mains we had salmon burger, seafood linguine, sunshine chicken bowl and everything was lip smacking! Loveeeed it all. desserts were apple pie with icecream and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Both were top notch!! The service was attentive despite of being so so busy. We got our food quickly but desserts took time but they were worth the wait. The only thing we didn't like were the super small tables. No place to keep the food and plates and glasses together. It is a hidden gem!!! A little far from us, but easy to go using public transportation: Skytrain and buses . The service offered by Breanna C was excellent, fast, friendly, courteous and the best, very professional!! The culinary is very delicious and well presented in generous portions!. Prices a very affordable and the menu has a great variety of options . We started with cider and Caesar and appetizer a delicious mushrooms soup . It fills the stomach, pairs well enough with a cold beer, and won't make you think too hard about it. Burgers, wings, nachos -- the usual suspects, all perfectly fine, all immediately forgettable. But you're not here for culinary enlightenment. You're here because it's easy -- because your buddy can pull up after a floatplane hop from Nanaimo, or because you've got an hour to kill before a flight out of YVR - and airport food sucks the proverbial life out of your wallet for a mix bag of crap they call food. Inside, it's a melange of off-duty pilots, Richmond locals, and people who've seen enough airports to appreciate a place that doesn't care about pretence. No influencers taking selfies, no cruise-ship hordes, the tourists usually get lost trying to find this place - thank the lord! It's Just beer, laughter, and the occasional cheer when a seaplane skims across the Fraser. The Flying Beaver is the kind of bar I end up in my travels -- not because it's great, but because it's real. A place where time pauses between departures, where the conversations are better than the food, and where the view out the window -- the water, the planes, the gold wash of a Pacific sunset -- is worth far more than anything on the plate. Was charged for every pop refill , I was extremely disappointed how hard was it for the waitress to communicate Talk to Mike the manager he didn't care all they talked about was the view in the scenery and the location that wants to say anything about reimbursement or sorry to happen or I'll get the waitress to keep better next time we will never come back. Went to this pub/restaurant for breakfast. I have been there before and it has always been good. For breakfast it was just as good. This is on the river front at the south part of the airport. Harbour air flies out of there. I had the beaver chorizo hash and it was very filling and worth the money. One was the smoked salmon benny and just as good. Next up was the beaver omelette. I have been here 7-8 times. Always sat at the bar as I usually go in the evenings. I go on Wednesdays for their great wing deals and I always order too much. They wings are great. The Steak and Shrimp special is also a good value and the green beans are especially tasty. It is more than enough food for this oldtimer. I always enjoy a good Crabcake Benny. I have found few places that serve them. The ones that do have mediocre crabcakes. usually mostly filler. The Crabcake Bennies at Flying Beaver are way above average. I could barely finish everything. I would recommend Flying Beaver on the food alone. On days when the sky is clear the view is also great as well. This is a very out-of-the-way restaurant that doubles as a check-in for Harbour Air seaplanes. It's right next to the airport. However, it is a spectacular restaurant in its own right and worth the trip to visit it! They have boatloads of seafood choices of which I chose the Grilled Wild Salmon. It came with seaweed salad, jasmine rice and Szechuan green beans. It was fabulous! I also recommend the Wok Style Calamari which is topped with puréed jalapeños. Also superb! They have an outside deck right on the water and the ambience is completely casual. It's worth the drive, believe me. I wish we had something like this in Chicago! I'd be a regular! read more

I visited Flying Beaver Bar for lunch before my Seair flight, since it was conveniently located within walking distance. The interior had a rustic, cabin-like ambiance - lots of wood, stone, and fun beaver-themed decor. I sat at the bar and ordered an Iced Tea, which was tasty and not too sweet. For food, I chose the Seared Tuna and Steak Bites, both off the appetizers section. The Seared Tuna was really good and came with avocado slices and soy sauce. It wasn't filling at all, but great as a starter. The Steak Bites were also a smaller portion size, but way more filling. Some of the pieces were a bit chewy, but overall well cooked, and I liked the chipotle aioli dipping sauce a lot. Service was fast and friendly! read more

Nice casual pub style dining with good view of Fraser River or seaplanes. We had been here before during dine out Vancouver. With fond memories of their pretty sunset views, relaxing ambiance and nice friendly service, decided to return for dinner while in the area. Yes, their servers are still friendly plus the river views truly adds to the cozy vibes. So they didn't take same day reservations on the phone and we had to walk-in and wait for a table. Despite the 30 minutes wait, meal was enjoyable because I really like dining by the water. I enjoy dining with views of the river or ocean and staying at hotels with ocean view are the best. Listening to the waves or waterfalls and looking out to water feels calming and makes me happy :) Also I didn't mind waiting for a table because gift shop next to restaurant was open. This place is right next to Harbour Air check-in counter which manages a wall shelf of souvenir gifts. Shoppers can buy when Harbour Air counter is open and the gift shop was closing around 645pm. Shopping notes - lots of BC souvenir item, some kid's toys, clothing items, and even candy/nuts/gum were available plus exclusive Harbour Air merchandise like teddy bears, pins, mugs and magnets are available. Foods were prepared quickly and surprisingly yummy. Not sure if we were extra hungry after waiting 30-40 minutes for a table but I really enjoyed their pizza and fish taco. We also ordered the Sunshine Bowl and Clam Chowder which were tasty but on the saltier side. Oh they have happy hour specials, a breakfast menu and even a kids menu for $11.99 with a drink and ice cream. So I will definitely return for happy hour or breakfast next time I am by the Vancouver airport. Free parking spots are available and there's also a courtesy phone for Richmond taxi if one needs to call for a ride. Terra Nova power outage in the evening 6pm (it was during cooking dinner time). Cannot cook, thus dine out. Flying Beaver Bar & Grill. Only 10 mins away from home. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost full, but luckily we got a a table near window, can see the river and sunset. We ordered 2 appetizers as Monday the second appetizer is 50% off. We ordered taco, calamari for appetizers, then butter chicken and fish and chips for main. The cocktail was so so, I drank coke. This was a really nice place to visit. As a regular pub it might get fewer stars but the ambiance and the seaplane takes it to the top. I had a burger that was pretty good. The beer selection is small but fits well. The service was quick and friendly. I recommend this to anyone in the area. You will need to wait for the shuttle if you are going to the airport after eating here because although it looks close you have to walk all the way around and that's about three miles. read more

I went here for dinner with co-workers. Decided to get a Cajun prawn linguine. It came with one toast piece, a good amount of tomatoes and shrimp, parmesan slices on top, and some greens. The taste wasn't stand out, but it was good and I liked it! It wasn't spicy overall, but there was one chili that I unknowingly ate entirely and it started BURNING my soft mouth as someone talked to me. I had to pretend to be okay LOL. Be aware of the one surprise chili.. My favourite part of the dish was how many prawns they give you! Oh my goodness.. there must have been 10 or 12. For $22, that's a steal!! You'd be lucky to even get 5 prawn somewhere more expensive. Service was amazing and the ambience is that of a typical bar--really loud in there. Went to the Flying Beaver after not being there for a year and a half and holy smokes has this place slid down hill faster then a runaway freight train, first the food is no where near it use to be as I ordered the chicken strip basket which I ordered for the last 20 years and the "chicken strips" were the size of chicken nuggets and their wings are good but have been under cooked for some time as my friend always has to ask them to cook longer. Now the service we had was not very good as our server asked how our food was and I told him about my chicken strip basket and he just kind of mumbled about making me some more and then left never to be heard from again and then asked the lady who brought us our food for a refill of drinks and she said to ask our server, such bad customer service yet they want tips? This place serves typical bar food, which was quite a departure from the whole trip where I mostly ate Japanese, seafood, or Chinese food. After some thinking, I went with the Black + Blue Burger as I haven't had a burger in a while. A highlight of the burger was the salad. I went for a caesar salad, and damn they didn't skimp out on the cheese! Large cheese slices to feed any hungry person they wish. The burger was fine, nothing extraordinary or memorable. We discovered the Flying Beaver Bar, and it was located 2 minutes away from our airport parking lot. Tip: It's right across the South Overflow Lot for the airport. If we had known, we would have parked here instead of the VIP lot. You can park here if you are eating at the restaurant. It's quite popular for all the cars I saw in the lot. Ugh! We were excited to come here for fish and chips. What a disappointment! We were there this past May. I'm just now catching up on reviews, but wanted to warn others away from this place. There was very little fish under all the soggy breading. It was only a little crispy on the very outside layer. Couldn't eat it. The service was nice and I suppose some people would like the view of the planes however, the planes coming and going spew a lot of exhaust. I don't recommend it. We went for brunch on a nice sunny morning... only thing we didn't account for was the wind which made things a bit colder than we expected. Lucky for us, the food made up for it. We had the waffles with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Exactly how you'd want it! I ordered the steak skillet which was great. Steak cooked medium rare (a touch overdone) but tender and tasty. We also had the French dip which came with a nice au jus that was perfect for dipping the crusty baguette. We actually did order some breakfast and their eggs, bacon, hash browns were solid. This is one of the coolest places to go in Richmond. It is by the old Vancouver airport and right on the river. The food is absolutely exceptional and the pulled pork poutine is some of the best I've had. I've also been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is highly highly recommended. read more
