More restaurant than pub. Good service and a nice clean place. Great menu and I loved the fish and chips and the bangers and mash. We cleaned both plates ! Then had room for the sticky toffee pudding . Yum. This is by far my favorite dessert and this was done nicely. Just wish they had served uf with custard not ice cream. Still good though. A wonderful Irish Pub! The food here is really good and they have a fantastic menu that includes all the dishes you'd expect is a few more. They have lots of seating inside and outside. I went here to watch a soccer match while visiting for a conference at the Convention Center. Their scotch egg was hands down the best I have ever eaten. They have a nice selection of beers as well. The bartenders are courteous knowledgeable and attentive. They do not play the sound from the televisions but do show multiple sports and a lot of games on their many TVs. I was pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood/British pub vibes despite the place being pretty large. Fish and chips were excellent! Delicious batter, but plenty of actual fish. One piece entree would have been sufficient, but I ate every bite of the two piece entree. Paired well with a Guiness on tap. Would recommend for a casual pub and dinner experience. Service on the patio was pretty slow when we arrived. Maybe a server was on break. She was good once she showed up. Beers were good. Cottage pie was amazing, huge serving, probably can split with 2 people. Short rib grilled cheese was very good. Nice atmosphere outside. For me it was the fish and yam fries. The portions were very decent with pretty good flavoring. The salad and pies my colleagues had were just massive. Most of them had to pack some away. This pub is located in downtown Vancouver. They serve drinks and bar food, such as poutine. During our visit we only ordered drinks, the drinks were very good as well as the service. Stopped in for a quick lunch before boarding our cruise ship. It's located in downtown Vancouver with a nice outdoor patio, perfect for breezy summer days. Saddest nachos I have ever experienced. Wanted dinner but was told at 9 pm on a Friday night the kitchen was closed and could only order appetizers. Who closes their kitchen at 9 pm???? Added chicken to the nachos to try to actually eat something for the first time all day, and it tasted like the only thing actually cooked in the kitchen. Everything else was either from a jar or a bag. Chips were exceptionally salty. Guacamole wasn't real. $21 before tax for this. Wow. I haven't been to the Lions Pub in a few years although it is near my workplace. The Covid era has kept me from the office and thus away from that neighbourhood. I was looking forward to going there this evening for an event and man alive I don't think I'll ever go again. I realize that bars and pubs are loud, but going in there you might as well stick your head in a bloody blast furnace. So bad. The kitchen sounds like it's an airplane taking off and goes through the entire space, which is not very big to begin with. Note, I get my hearing tested for my job and my hearing is exceptional, I'm not the problem. I got out as quick as I could after having one drink, which was served to me quickly in a nice iced glass by a pleasant server, who also took my payment quickly. I've never run a pub, but I sure as hell wouldn't be running it like that. read more

I visited Vancouver from Texas. I stayed at hotel near the Lion's Pub. The music was too loud so I chose to take my order to go. I had the Prime Rib Sandwich. It was packaged perfectly. The meat and Aujus were put in a separate container so the bread did not get soggy before I could eat it. The meat was perfectly seasoned. The French fries were excellent. I ordered onion rings but they were not very good. Overall the food was excellent. I'd go back next time I visit Vancouver. read more

Right away we were greeted by Billy the bartender, and who would have thought, 4 hours later we were still there laughing and joking the entire time. I've been to this pub many times but the reason I'll never go back is because, the last time we were there, we were kicked out. We hadn't ordered anything; no one had had any alcohol. But our host, a famous American comedian who I won't name, had us in stitches. There were six of us and we were all in fits of laughter. Lions Pub offers a wide range of tasty gastropub dishes, a decent and diverse beer list, and a more civil atmosphere than most "pubs" in the area. The feel is much more that of an English pub than most of the competition, in good part due to a more sane setting of the music volume. On most visits the music has not thwarted conversation, though it does seem to get louder later. It has also veered into inappropriate "urban music" territory on occasion. We literally popped in here for a beer and snack before boarding a cruise ship at Canada Place. Such a wonderful respite in the rain. First thing at opening and the staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the choice of beer, my new favorite is the Kronenberg Blanc!! We shared a few beers and some apps. Their fried pickles are probably the best I've ever had. Very crunchy, loads of dill, and lightly fried with a great dipping sauce. Oh My!! The smoked green olives were a gigantic bowl of smoky, meaty, green olives. These were to-die-for delicious, but you gotta share. The bowl is enough for 4 people to snack on, trust me. I can't wait to visit Vancouver again and pop in here for a few more bites and another beer. read more
