Place was busy, and loud, on a Saturday afternoon, we sat at a table at the window with a great view of the foggy inlet and Morton Park. One waitress working the whole place made delivery feel a little slow, but we had our drinks within 5 minutes of order and food within 12. Sign at front door CLEALY said they have drink specials, then when I ask why I didn't receive the advertised price the waitress just tossed down a handbill saying 9pm-12am Sun-Thurs, and she then flat out REFUSED to honour the advertised price, even after I pointed out that it's quite clearly advertised at the front door, she could care less, absolutely disgusting and dishonest! Such a nice place to hang when the weather is nice. The staff are adequate and the beer is fine. We didn't try any of the food, and I'm sure it's good. I've tried to come to this pub a couple times, but they're VERY strict with checking IDs and I never had two pieces of ID on me (I was usually out for a walk) to go in. Finally I got a chance to try this spot out a couple of Saturdays ago. My group of 4 came around 6:30 pm and there was no wait. None of us were hungry, so we had a couple of drinks and snacks. The food menu here is pretty limited and is standard pub fare (fries, sandwiches, fish & chips, etc.). I tried two of their cocktails ($10 each), the P.S. i love you and stray bullet, and both were just okay. The P.S. i love you wasn't as sweet as I was hoping, and the stray bullet was very tart. For food, I went with the clam chowder ($15), but honestly it was very underwhelming. It didn't even come with bread; I had to pay an extra $2 for some toast on the side. Came here for a late lunch during happy hour. Drinks were fairly priced for a happy hour - my margarita (delicious) was $10 and my partners Pilsner was $5.50. For food we got the Tempura Cod Tacos and the Short Rib Dip. The cod was fresh, the veggies were crunchy & the hot sauce gave it a nice kick. The sandwich was tasty - the au jus was a pretty runny but that wasn't an issue, and the greens on the sandwich were refreshing. The fries were good, a bit on the lukewarm side but still very tasty. Wish the bun was a little more crispy but it overall tasted great. The staff were helpful and quick, and took my peanut allergy seriously (thank you!). If you can, try to get a seat in the window overlooking English Bay. We'll be back! read more

Overpriced and horrible TV's. Not a very good place to watch a game. We paid about $13 for 6 chicken wings! That's more than $2 a chicken wing. They were good, but not THAT good. The burger was $16 and came with McDonalds fries. The atmosphere is nice, the waiters are wonderful, and the view is great if you're on the patio, but other than that, the chairs were uncomfortable and the TV's kept changing colour. Vancouver pubs and restaurants had fairly mediocre service before the pandemic. In 2019 and prior, my choice word for bad service was "weird". In 2020 it was "whatever". In 2021, it was "alright". The choice word of 2022 is "dreadful", and The Three Brits takes the cake. Service 1/5 -- Things were alright in 2021. They were doing their best. At least I think so. Service really was alright. Out of the few times I've stopped by in 2022 (I guess I'm a glutton for punishment) I at first wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The first visit was awful. I didn't know who my server was as a different person took my drink order and food order. When I looked around to get someone's attention for a second round, the two servers were chit chatting with the bartender -- not a big deal. They're not robots after all; humans require human interaction. (Eh-hem, especially when they're paying for a service that hinges on said interaction.) When I finally caught the server's attention, she immediately looked away. Considering I was one of two customers there, I decided I had had enough and threw my credit card on the table. Second time wasn't so bad -- it was actually quite alright. The manager seated and took my first round order which was expedient as you could have guessed. After that, a server took the reins and things slowed down... at least this time it was somewhat busy, though, definitely winding down. Third visit of the year was just dreadful. I went in and ordered a beer, and from the cold reception I decided that if the server didn't make any effort before I finished my beer, I'd grab lunch elsewhere. This time there were three other tables there; a two-top and two solos, both on their laptops and looking pretty settled in... so again, this is not a pandemic understaffing situation. The server didn't ever even come back to the table until my beer was empty. I settled up my measly one beer, and went over to the Park and spent 50 bones. The Park, by the way, was busy. ‍ The thing that really bothers me about the service here is that I want to spend my money! I have good memories of this pub, and pretty low expectations! Tldr; service is dreadful. Atmosphere 3/5 -- the atmosphere isn't that bad. It's a pretty comfortable place with a good view, however the wrap around bar has always bothered me, and I miss the layout from when it was the Calling. The bathroom situation has been pretty weird. Last time I used it, there was one regular bathroom and one more that was pretty much a utility closet. The closet is not really a comfortable place to crown a Duke. Cleanliness 4/5 -- Seems like they're doing a pretty good job keeping things tidy. It does fall into some of the trappings of pubs; litter on the floor, sticky surfaces, but for the most part they're on top of it. Food 2/5 -- I think the food has gotten worse since all the Donelly pubs started carrying the same menu, however it has improved over the last year or so. That being said it still isn't much to write home about. One of the reasons I like the Three Brits as an option though is that they have a decent plant-based selection. Overall 2.5/5 -- All in all, it would be a pretty average pub if they could sort out the service. I don't know if it's just bad luck on my behalf and I keep getting getting the same awful servers, but it almost feelings like entering the Twilight Zone whenever I go in there; you have no idea what's in store for you. read more

Have been coming here a few months now even though it's touristy, still love the English Bay view. Usual and expected protocols in place and like everywhere likely a bit short staffed. It's not McDonalds so be patient and enjoy the view. It's cozy, and comfortable with a decent HH during the week and features and brunch weekends. The surprise has been the food! Nestled next to English Bay Beach, you will find The Three Brits on Davie street. It's a nice location for a catch up and that's why I was here. After that awkward entering 'do I wait and get seated or is someone coming to greet me?' moment, our group of three chose a hightop table to sit at. We were greeted by the warmest server and soon ordered drinks. All in all, service was slow. We had to flag someone down to put in a food order, and retrieving the check and paying was a whole other deal of trying our patience. The fish and chips were notably good, with a nice serving of fish. My all-day-breakfast was a basic breakkie for $13. Drink prices were pretty bomb though, and there's a rotating tap of craft beer. Happy hour is from 3-6pm with $4 craft beer, $5 wine, and $4 liquor. The Three Brits is a good place to come if you have time and nowhere else to be. I wasn't all that impressed by my first visit BUT I wouldn't yet give up hope for the other Donnelly Pub group venues. read more

Was there last Saturday and aside from the food being pretty good (appies) I would not go back. Our server (blonde girl) was not very nice. At first we were told to pick a spot, which i thought that's great! When we realized we would be at the corner with no airflow, we looked around and 2 guys were about to leave so the middle table with better airflow and a view was becoming available, they told us we are leaving go ahead and take it, i asked them if they would mind me putting my bag there, they said no problem. I went to lean on the bar across while I waited for my husband to be done from the bathroom and while the table would be emptied and cleaned up. The waitress said "i still have to clean the table so find a place to sit" i said "i am waiting for my husband to come out from the bathroom, no worries. But she seemed upset to the point of going to her bartender colleague to complain. Oh well. Then we are seated and she says "just so you know this table is reserved so you have to be done by ...., we were just there for a quick bite and a drink, so yes, you can have the table back by then. Needless to say the attitude received was not appreciated and will definitely opt out to go here and will definitely go to Cactus club across the street where i have never had bad service in over 15 years. We were walking around Vancouver on a cloudy afternoon looking for a place to eat. So naturally we resort to YELP. There are a ton of restaurants on this road. This place was right across the street from the park and the road that we needed to walk up to get to our destination - it was a natural. Keegan was server - I guess he is the manager as well and they were shorthanded that day... We sat by the window and ordered our first course. Crispy Cauliflower. I really like cauliflower and was intrigued. It was really good and I especially liked the sauce that accompanied it. Next up was the Buffalo Wings - after all - it was Wednesday and they are on special. I am a big-time buffalo wing eater and like to consider myself an aficionado of them. These did not disappoint. They were meaty and tasty. Next was the Special of the day - Toasted cheese with meat. Sounded very interesting...taste awesome. It was a nice combination and very "Home Made" style. We were excited to try what appears to be a new menu item at this restaurant, a short rib beef dip sandwich. When the sandwiches arrived, they were small, not enough meat to fill the sandwiches, but worst of all not sure what the watery substance was in the little bowl on the plate. We assumed the thin watery substance was meant to be the "dip" but it was like water with a little salt and pepper. These meals were not cheap, priced at $20 each. The "honey and gold" cocktails, we each had, were $14 each and said to have 2 oz of liquor, not so we believe, very weak and unappealing. Won't be back here anytime soon.. read more

Great location, facing towards Vancouver's famed English Bay Beach. The best seats are against the window, scenic and also for people watching during the summer. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff have always been friendly, with the exception of one bad experience with the person who checks ID at the door. The open area seating for bar/restaurant are one in the same and it can get louder as the place gets busier. The food is pretty standard bar fare and since it is a Donnely Group pub, the menu shares a lot of items with their other establishments. The stand out for me is the Fish & Chips though, huge portions of both, so bring your appetite or a friend to share it with. Breakfast is served all day and is good value. The bartenders craft a terrific drink, personally I really enjoy the Caesar (great garnishes!) and the Moscow Mules. read more

Three Brits is a pretty standard little pub along the waterfront. The have a good selection of local beers as well as bottles, and the food offerings are traditional pub style. We got burgers and I got fish and chips. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the fish and chips! They definitely don't skimp you on the piece of cod, and it is so fresh and perfectly fried. I appreciated the selection of beer and had a local BC IPA. My colleagues said their golden ales were good too from BC. The service was friendly here too. Our girl waitress was pretty bubbly and eager to wait on us. I would visit Three Brits again but there's so many restaurants on this street, I'd want to try those too! read more

While traveling in Vancouver with friends we stopped here for lunch! It was right on the water with the windows open. Weather was perfect so it was a great stop. The staff was great! Becky & George took care of us and both were quick, attentive and super friendly!!! They even split our 11 people check into separates. On top of that great service the food was awesome. We got wings in tons of flavors all great. A little small on the meat, but we are from the states so we are use to large wings. A bunch of us ordered the chicken avocado salad.... So good! Get it! The location here is great with a big window looking out to the west. It is great sport for sunset watching. The drinks here were great. They have many specialty cocktails to choose from. I had a couple. I recommend the Danger Close. I also tried the BK block party, that had too much going on (too much party I guess) but was still OK. My wife had the pine street sour. She liked it but wasn't overly into it. We didn't eat the food but what I saw looked great. My biggest issue with the place is that it is a little claustrophobic in there. read more

This place has so much potential but it's poorly managed. It's a tiny place so space can be an issue, especially, during weekends. They have seating area near the window overlooking English bay, but even when those seats are empty they reserve them for large groups, which is silly considering not everyone comes there in a large group. This happened to us and it a disappointment so we left. Their reasoning for this defied any sensible logic. It's a restaurant, you fill it up with customers who drink and eat...whether you have three people by the window and two inside or two by the window and three inside, you still have a total of five customers! Couple friends and I were staying in Vancouver for a friend's wedding. We found three brits one more just walking out of a Starbucks and thought. It's right in the beach; let's get brunch. In the summer months they open up the window and you can look out at beach traffic and feel a nice breeze from the water. We ordered Caesars (exceptionally well executed), bowl of berries, and chicken & waffles. They also gave out complimentary banana bread - great. i had such a great dinner here a few weeks ago! It was a Friday night and my friend and I hadn't seen each other in ages. The server was right on time with our drinks, and even recommended us some of their new cocktails (Bourbon Insider was delicious, just like she said). She was very diligent to ask us what flavour profile we enjoyed in a drink and I appreciated that because she seemed to know exactly what I would like. We shared some appies, more recommendations from our server, which were bang on and delicious too. I will definitely be back here for summer time. Sorry 3 Brits, but I'm saying this from experience and you know why ;) Lets just say, the table of 5 gays that walked out of here were extremely happy and drunk. Now lets keep that on the down low~ Already been here 3 times with my gays and we love it here. I haven't had a bad thing about to say about this place much, except that some of the seats are not the comfiest. The food is great, the drinks are AMAZING, and the service is FABULOUS. Sundays are the best day to come to 3 Brits and the brunch time of course. Got the Waffles and Chicken, as it is Asian Mild Spicy, so it wasn't that strong. But it just adds a taste to it. The waffles were cute, but not the best because it didn't feel hot, so I was kinda disappointed on that. I did enjoy that whisky maple syrup though, that was kinda a special surprise there. Now imagine that it's in front of you, and then it's taken away. We called to make SURE, that my favorite meal in the entire world, was going to be there on the first day of 2018.
