We were actually on the pub side - there are two seating area and the menus may be different as well. A friend was coming in from north van to meet me for lunch and I am currently in white rock so we decided to meet half way. He picked the River House as he had been before. We sat overlooking the water and it was a sunny day so it was especially nice. Our server was fantastic and very patient with us. She definitely contributed to our whole experience! I had the mussels / they were great but could have used a bit of a zing in the sauce - a fresh herb of some kind would have completely elevated the dish. I got the fries which I don't normally get and they were cooked to perfection. As was the toast. I would go back just for the toast. My friend had the ahi tuna burger and it looked great. I asked him how it was and nodded and grunted with his mouth full so I think he was happy too. We had the ice cream cake for dessert between the two of us - I thought I would have "just a spoon full" but I easily devoured half of it. SO good. Clean somewhat romantic place. They have some good wines and some nice options for those that don't like seafood. I had the mustard salmon. It was very tasty, and presented nicely. The calamari was okay. Nothing special. They had a 3 meatball appetizer which went over well. I wasn't paying so I didn't pay attention to the bill, but is wasn't cheap or expensive. PUB SIDE We've been here a number of times, and have enjoyed (?) a pretty wide range of experiences. The service is always very good with their servers seemingly long term employees, and attentive for the most part. The view out to the river is always changing, and as boaters we enjoy that activity and action. The ambiance is a bit on the dark side, but they aren't trying to change what they have with stuff that doesn't work. The food is inconsistent from our four or five visits. We've never been there when it's super busy so the inability to keep the food consistently good (and we've had one experience that was excellent for all three of our diners) is a little disappointing. read more

I was in the area helping a friend and stopped by for lunch. I have seen this place from a distance many times entering the George Massey Tunnel northbound but this was my first time here. It is a beautiful setting, right on the river and it also has a pub and a marina. The menu is quite extensive. I was wanting a burger and opted for the bacon cheddar burger with salad. The food came out fairly quick. The presentation was excellent. And the taste was great...the burger was fully cooked and juicy. The cheese and bacon are perfect additions. It was probably the best burger I have had in several years. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend the Riverhouse Restaurant and Pub. read more

Great views on their patio! You overlook the Fraser River, watching boats, paddle boarders, eagles, and the busy of the river! We got in around 1 and were sat immediately. They were short staffed so things were very slow. We ordered a bunch of things. One person got their burger and curly fries which looked amazing and was apparently delicious. I got the Kale Chop Salad (kale, chickpeas, golden beets, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, carrots, roasted artichokes, red peppers, parmesan, lime vinaigrette). There was no beets and there was more stems than should be but it was huge and pretty good. The spinach dip was big but needed salt. The calamari was good! Food and experience were both ok. I attended the restaurant part of this Riverhouse as they also have a pub side. Upon arrival were seated quickly. We made reservations for 9 but 10 showed up. Another table was quickly added so no problem. Our waitress turned out to be Queenie whom we have met before. Try to get her for your table because she is fantastic. I had the soup of the day which was a turkey and rice. Not great, watery and not much turkey and vegetables. Seems like they spooned the top of the soup holder. I had the lamb shank which was tasty, not stringy but met in the mouth. The sauce was perfect for the lamb. The carrots were not over cooked and the mashed potatoes were consistent and real, not the fake box potato flake. As there were 9 others the consensus was everything was tasty and great. The restaurant faces the water which has the same view of the pub. My buddy seated beside me had the breaded oysters and just loved it. All the meals were brought together by three waiters and one had to run back for the last one. I prefer my food hot and that was the only downfall I had with my meal. It came above warm but not hot. I didn't know this pub was here. It's in a beautiful spot by Deas Slough. The atmosphere is perfect, and the view is amazing. I tried their RH Signature Caesar, which had a unique flavor with pickle juice. For dinner, I had the Braised Lamb Shank, and the sauce went perfectly with the tender lamb. Our server was excellent and knew a lot about each dish. Everything we tried was delicious! Our group of 10 sampled all the dishes. We'll be coming back often this summer. read more

I would call this a "mini-getaway" for anyone living in the area but had never been ...for commuters of the George Massey Tunnel you will always pass by when you exit the south end of the tunnel, the Marina & buildings on your left is where this "Hidden Gem" is... We booked online, got our Marina side table. Food is above average for this type of establishment, staffs are friendly. Highlight: Seafood Club ... oversized filling of baby shrimp & crab in a creamy mayo, the sourdough bread compliments the whole experience and how can you go without bacon in a Club, all in all a great sandwich that was done the old fashion way!! So if you ever wanted to "escape" and have a bit of tranquility and don't want to drive for 2 hours out of town, this maybe a good venue for you to explore! This place is SUCH a GEM! Although, it's a bit hard to find at first but once you arrive, it's worth the experience! It's in Delta but it's only around 10 mins away from Richmond They prob the largest patio which is perfect for the summer and also these super peaceful riverside views of the water and the boat. Next is the food! It's also so hard for me to find a impulsive brunch place during the pandemic but this really is my place to go (cause who wants to wait 2 hours in line at DT?). I enjoy the brunch here a lot and also their burgers! I'm not really a burger person but their patties are so good! The spices, and marination is super good. We had a lovely evening at River House. It is on the Fraser River and has a great view over the Marina. It was a decent day and we decided to eat on the patio. Our server Trevee asked if we wanted the patio or seating inside and we opted for a table outside. It was cool but with the heater right beside us it was fine. As customers at the other tables departed we had the patio to ourselves. It was so nice, especially after the lights were turned on. We shared an order of jalapeno cheese bread and a bottle of wine from the happy hour menu. The wine on happy hour was very well priced. The cheese bread was very good but a bit too spicy for my taste. For entrees my husband had the Caesar salad and prime rib from the specials menu and I had the short ribs in a sesame honey garlic sauce with potatoes and vegetable. The food was good. The lettuce on the Caesar salad was limp and wilted but overall the food was good and the prices fair. The service from Trevee was very good and the setting is beautiful. It's half restaurant, half pub, tucked away in no man's land between Tilbury and Ladner, looking over to Deas Island. You'd never expect solid pub fare and service, but there it is - and with a view to boot. A regular haunt for the employees of local businesses and meetings alike, the RiverHouse is one of those places that you pay a little more for to experience and a slightly higher food quality than other spots, but it's worth it because there's something about the environment that has you feeling like you're not in the odd geographical location. We proceeded into the pub and were stopped by a server who asked us if we didn't have reservations they were not taking walk ins. There were several empty tables- none with "Reserved " signs. Went here for a family brunch. We were a large party so I definitely understand what it's like to serve a large group of people-it's not going to be as fast. However, although service was friendly, it was really slow. Had to ask for water, had to ask for coffee, had to ask for refills, had to ask for ketchup, etc etc. I had feeling like I have to bother the waitress every few minutes. The water smelled like the ice cube tray or whatever they used doesn't get washed... For brunch they only had three choices, which seemed weird to me since most pubs and restaurants that offer brunch/breakfast generally have a menu and at least more options. I had the eggs benny, the hollandaise was cold and coagulated, and the eggs were over cooked and hard, not runny at all. My boyfriends were the same. The potatoes that came with it were okay-could have been crispier but that's personal preference. No one came around to check on our food, it seemed like they disappeared as soon as it came. The restaurant itself needs an upgrade, it's outdated, and a menu overhaul. read more

A great place, if a little out of the way. Located right on the river just with lovely views year-round. They have a nice patio for warmer days. The decor is comfortable and classy, and this time of year they are very nicely decorated for Christmas. They have a private room would be a fantastic spot for a Christmas party of 20 or so people, or a meeting (free wifi) etc anytime. The food is consistent and great, service is always good but on my latest visit here service was spectacular. I had reserved their private meeting room for a group and we were treated very well, efficient, friendly and attentive. All of the group that was in attendance had never been before and mentioned they would be going back as they enjoyed it that much. Great happy hour specials, $3 beer and $3 off the appy menu. Excellent excellent food. Tast and filling, but not overpowering. Wonderfully conceived and prepared dishes. The seafood crepes I had were creamy and deliciius. And the creme brulee for dessert was the best I've ever tasted. My companions meals were by all accounts appreciated greatly. The dining experience at this point was already memorable. Who would've thought something could be added to it that would be noticed, that would be remembered amidst the culinary delight we were enjoying, and make it even better? But our wonderful waiter did just that. Aimee was superb, a natural, one of the best examples of the profession I have ever met. Engaging, friendly, knowledgeable of the dishes and their preparation, and just a wonderful person. She was the perfect compliment to our fantastic dining experience. And what a perfect setting to have a nice meal on a sunny afternoon. It was my last day of a three week holiday in Vancouver and I couldn't think of a better locale to spend it. I would take family here, friends, business associates. And it would be one of the first places I went if I wanted to spend the afternoon reading a hood book enjoying good food. Went here the other night with our kids (6 & 4), for a bit of a celebration dinner. Our server was extremely friendly and on top of anything we needed. Kids had grilled cheese and fries which were really good. I had braised pork cheeks with pasta and my wife had baked penne bolognese. Both were decent but nothing amazing, what we would expect for the price. The tiramisu was also decent and quite large in my opinion. We were happy overall and will come back. I would say the food is a slight step up from a White Spot but the view/location and relaxed atmosphere make it worthwhile. read more

This is one of those situations where I am conflicted about reviewing a place that I love. The River House, you see, has, arguably, the best patio of any pub in the lower mainland. It's right on the marina just to the east of the Tunnel, but far enough away from it that you don't get any of the traffic noise - just a distant view of the poor schmucks who are heading into the city for a bite to eat because they don't know any better. The food here is great and the staff is always friendly. They show all the Canucks games, too, so if it's hockey season and too cold to sit outside, you can grab a comfy chair by the fire and watch the 'nucks get their ass kicked yet again. I mean, chances are they are going to lose - why shouldn't you be comfy and have a tasty beverage at hand while they do it? read more

We had a private room with a long table and a great view of the water. They had a set menu for us to choose from, there was fish, prime rib and a vegetarian pasta. I had the pasta and it was really nice. Or did I have fish back then? Wow, my brain is turning to mush, I can't remember things from August. Anyway, whatever mysterious meal I had I DO remember that I liked it. The service was great, but I'm not sure what the prices was like, as dinner was generously taken care of by the Groom's Mother. I had a few glasses of wine, they seem to have a nice selection, and I liked both the red and the white that we had. This isn't the type of place I would come to often. It's my birthday next week so my parents decided to take me out for dinner. This place was one of a few on my list that I wanted to try out. As you walk in you are welcomed in by this warm home like feeling. We were seated by the window overlooking the marina. We caught a slight glimpse of the sunset but it quickly dipped below the horizon. I ordered the 8oz prime rib done medium- rare. When we got the food the presentation was very well thought out and looked very delicious. It came with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. The prime rib was very tender and full of flavour. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were very tasty. Overall I was very pleased by the service and food here. You can definitely tell the River House focuses on fresh ingredients. We ordered the calamari, deep fried pickles, kale salad, spaghettini and featured halibut. The calamari was melt in your mouth. Deep fried pickles were breaded, instead of beer battered, and tasted crunchy and amazing. Unfortunately the halibut and seafood in the spaghettini were overcooked. Flavour-wise, the main dishes seemed to fall short. Nothing spectular, but decent enough. Finally, the service was excellent considering how large our group was! The River House is one of those places that you say to yourself..."huh, I had no idea this was even here...". The location is quite nice with a beautiful patio that looks out onto the water. Before we visited this patio pub, we read their posted COVID-19 protocol and were impressed with their plan. On arrival we were seated at a table that the waitress had just "cleaned" with a wet cloth. This was not the cleaning as claimed in their COVID-19 protocol or the health ministry requirement. However, the wait staff were confused; multiple servers would ask at the tables about what the patrons needed and then either more than one staff member would get the same item or neither staff would get the item. No communication between staff; could not tell who was the drink server or the order taker or what their roles where. The coleslaw was flat and rice tasted funny; almost like it had cinnamon in it. The halibut was flaky but overcooked and dry. Great French fries, though. Prices are exorbitant for the food quality and type of food ($26 for fish and chips). If you want a quiet place to have a drink and nice surroundings, then good place. If you want good food or reasonable pricing, not recommended. Too bad; could be great. read more
