Went here with a girlfriend to grab a bite and chill. The location is definitely the highlight - it's among the false creek seawall and easily accessible by bike or walking. The patio has great views of science world and Yaletown across the way although the patio area is quite small. I had strawberry beer that was on tap. The menu is a mix of standard pub fare with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and starters. They also have a section with share plates, which is what we ordered. We tried the Mexi-fries and chickpea fritters. Portions were decent, the accompanying salsa and aioli really made the dishes. Service can be slow, but is super friendly. Overall, a great place to check out if you are in the area and looking for a more laid back place than the massive craft beer restaurants nearby.

My bf and I dropped by here on the weekend after being at the dog park. We sat on the patio close to our pups and enjoyed drinks, Mac and cheese, and happy hour wings The wings were pricey even when we went for happy hour but they were flavorful. Bf really liked the Mac n cheese, to me it tasted like home made Mac and cheese, nothing fancy. The service was good, our dogs were hydrated, and the view overlooking the waters was great. Would come here again since it's a convenient place to come with the whole family (doggos and all) with a nice view

One of the dying few gems that is the casual pub. It is non-pretentious with a friendly atmosphere. Great beer selection and solid food menu.

Food was decent for bar food. What saved this review from 1 star is the waterfront view. It's a great view and we were able to seat ourselves on the patio. The service was not great at all as our waitress did not give us any attention and when she did it was clear that she did not want to be there. May come back for a drink on the patio because of the nice view. Hopefully service is better then.

    Surrounding area is beautiful.

Very busy on a sunny Saturday. The birthday group I was with was denied use of the patio based on our numbers and then crammed into an area that made it difficult for the server to access. Inside it was alarmingly loud and very difficult to maintain conversation even when the person was right in front of you. Outside would have been a much better experience for conversation. They really should have accommodated our wishes to be on the patio. The food is better than average pub food and *higher than average in price* My Lamb was delicious! If you order this, it would be best accompanied with fries and or another starch, as it's pretty oily. *Warning* The customer service is not impressive for so many reasons. 3 of our party were Gluten Intolerant and (or) Celiac and one has a seafood allergy. Our server was clearly not well informed about the menu items. In example, 2 of the "gluten free" pastas were delivered with a side of bread. Um--hello? One of our party became sick after he had the Ceviche which was at first forgotten and then delivered after a great delay and arrived with no apologies. Everyone else already had their meals. About 30 minutes later the poor young man got sick from the Ceviche and later had to leave. To exacerbate the issue, the server had to be convinced to remove the item from the bill. That's unacceptable behaviour. Once again unapologetic and even farther, making excuses like "there is no way he would be sick so soon..." She was quickly corrected by the 2 FOOD SCIENTISTS of our party, one of which happens to have majored in food born illnesses! All in all, not a great experience but we would consider a return at some point to enjoy the patio. The view from this location is really nice.

[Waterfront Patio] Location, location, location! There's not many pubs around Vancouver situated on the water's edge with an overlooking patio. We were fortunate enought to snag a table for 6 early on a Friday evening without much of a wait. They had a good selection beer and wine but nowhere near as many as place like Craft or Biercraft. Prices were also very reasonable given the location ($5-$7). I found the food to be a little pricey given the quality. A few of us shared a few appies - a poutine, chicken fritters, crab cakes and wings. It was all very salty (as expected with pub food) but didn't really impress despite being hungry. I didnt particularly feel there was value to be had at $14 each. There wasn't any loud background music which probably has something to do with all the residential buildings nearby. The atmosphere was still lively and fun but not out of control. It was nice to leave a pub without my ears ringing and my voice intact. Wicklow has a great patio with a fantastic view but everything else is nothing to write home about. I probably wouldn't repeat given the number of excellent pubs in Olympic village and South Main areas.

Such a great location. Capturing as much of the Vancouver sun as humanly possible, I settled in with gal pals on the patio for an afternoon of chit chat. Perhaps I've become spoiled with all of the amazing micro-breweries around, and the ability to buy so many amazing brews from local bottle shops, but I have been fantasizing for ages on ordering up an inspired pint here and chilling with the view. Alas, the mainstream beer lineup on tap left me lustful for something more. (I say as I crack open an Abita Strawberry Brew and write this review!) With my friends wanting to munch - we tucked into some standard patio fare: nachos and hot wings. The nachos were smaller in portion than what you'd normally see at a pub and they lacked sour cream (my fave!), but the deep fried jalapenos added something special. (I'd love to see those jalapenos as a dish on their own... could be delectable on a mezze plate with olives, hummus etc.) The guacamole weighed in at a hefty $4 price point, but, on the other hand, it was the guac that made the nach, so perhaps I shouldn't mention price! I'd easily head back again... that patio is just too picturesque to not take advantage of!

Our group (10 ppl) came in during lunch time on a weekday. We had reservations and got seated quickly. The service was prompt, had our waters filled, and the kitchen got our orders our relatively quickly. I ordered the Kobe beef burger with fries and some wine. I really liked the burger. The patty was juicy and had great taste. The bun was also good and wasn't as doughy. Vegetables used was fresh. No real special sauce but overall I enjoyed this burger. The fries were okay. Not as crispy but it gets the job done. Overall the servicing size is enough to fill you lunch. This place is a nice hangout, especially for post work drinks. I'll definitely be back.

Great spot, awesome dog friendly terrace with an amazing view on the marina and the mountains/Yaletown. The staff is friendly, there is a good drinks selection, however I wouldn't go there for the food. It's not awful, but it's not great either...

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
