I recently hosted an event here - the General Manager and Events Coordinator were very welcoming and easy to work with. They were flexible with our room arrangement needs. On the day of the event, everything was done well - we preordered food and that came out fairly quickly, the server they had assigned for our group (Irina) did a wonderful job making sure everyone had their drinks. The setting is incredible as one of the organizers wanted to showcase that beautiful Vancouver views. Food was a good representation of the multicultural fabric that is Vancouver - Beet dip with Naan, Beef sliders, Fish tacos. It is pub food and it was great. We also ordered drinks and there was a surprising spectrum of drinks available for less than 15 dollars covering all categories (beer, wine, zero proof and cocktails). The restaurant helped us stay within our event budget and the server regularly coordinated with me to make sure I was informed. We were also able to get an itemized receipt easily after. If you're planning an event consider Mahony's as they did a great job all around making it a success. Our participants really loved the convenience of the location which allowed them to take public transportation like Skytrain, Seabus or Rideshares/Taxis home easily after. read more

Prime Location, Terrible Service Stopped in at 8:40pm on a Friday night. Sign at front says please wait to be seated. Waited 5 mins for a waitress to seat us. About 10-15 other patrons inside. "Just to let you know, we're closing our kitchen in 5 minutes". Business hours listed open until 11pm on Fridays - Happy Hour starts at 9pm..... But you want to close the kitchen at 8:55pm? We asked if they were willing to even cook anything more or honor a large happy hour order of food and drinks since they're cutting it off. Manager came over to tell us no, they're shutting down early. We responded that we'll just leave then. He said, "Ok great!" We grab our things and head out at 8:55pm and several mice scurry past us. Not being a huge fan of live music in bars , it was way too loud and we couldn't even have a conversation at our table. Food was decent. We ordered too much. Fish and chips were good. We should have skipped the cheese bread. Salad was very good. No unsweetened tea available. A lot of places in Canada lacked unsweetened tea as an option. Service was alright not great not bad. A huge bar with an equally fair size outdoor patio located perfectly on the waterfront overlooking Vancouver Harbour, and the beautiful sulphur pile across the bay. Staff are friendly and attentive, without being too pushy or intrusive. We didn't order food, so can't comment on that other than the menu seemed to have all the usual items you'd expect from a bar. However we were shocked at the price. Two drinks each for two of us came to over $60! I get it, they're a business in a prime tourist spot, but that still was too much and enough to make me consider going elsewhere next time I'm in the area. read more

Went to Mahony's on a sunny afternoon on a Saturday by waterfront and they had lots of space available. They have two patios and an indoor space. We sat outside to get some vitamin D. For drinks I tried their zero proof hibiscus margarita. It was very refreshing!! I got their spinach artichoke dip with pretzels - it was pretty good! The portion was big, can probably share it amongst 3 people. Their crispy chicken sliders were also pretty good, definitely crispy and sauce was stellar Lastly, we got their veggie burger with fries. We ended up here by mistake and Im so glad that we did! We were expecting diner quality of food, but we're pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food is. The service was nice even though we were expecting beratement from the signa on the Wall. There was a lovely jukebox which had a really diverse set of music. I recently went to Mahony's Tavern by Canada Place downtown in Vancouver for a Women in Business Lunch & Connect. I got their delicious seafood chowder. Flavour was great. There could have been more seafood in it though, and would have been nice if it came with some sort of bread (not just croutons). Service was fine, and it's a great location. Found Mahony's based on recommendation from Visitors booth in the convention center. We chose an Outdoor table where we were able to watch cruise ships, sea planes, helicopters, ferry boats and more! My chicken sliders were crispy and delicious! The pretzel bites were a nice app to share. Our server was friendly and helpful. This was one of those situations where you turn chicken you-know-what into chicken salad. We woke up early to go watch the Arsenal game at the local supporters pub.. but they were closed. So we walked through the cold rainy streets of Vancouver desperately looking for a place to watch the game. Enter Mahony's Tavern. The location couldn't have been any better, right next to the beautiful Coal Harbor on a chilly cloudy day with the fog over the mountains in the distance, it was picturesque. We go inside to a mostly empty pub and lo and behold, a large assortment of screens showing my beloved Gunners as they dismantled West Ham.. lol. We sat at the bar and had the absolute best experience with Ryan. He was incredibly friendly, upbeat and charismatic. Made sense that the lad was Irish. We split a breakfast burger and were pleasantly surprised at the great quality of ingredients. The burger was well put together and tastier than any food I've ever had at a bar/pub before. Not to mention the crisp Stella Artois that just completed the experience. Maybe I was just so happy to be in Vancouver, next to beautiful sights, watching my favorite team and throughly enjoying the moment.. but Mahony's is the kind of place you want to go every weekend with your friends to escape. Just had appetizers, but the calamari was very good, we asked for them to put the cilantro on the side they did. The dipping sauce had a nice flavor to it. The serving size was very good. Stopped for a beer and a mixed drink. The local Amber beer was very good. Nice crisp taste to it. Friendliness of the staff 5 out of 10. I found some of the staff very unfriendly, if they bumped into you, they did not say excuse me or apologize. I realize that may not be a custom in Vancouver, however, it's a human courtesy to be apologetic and to say excuse me. I gave our server 8 out of 10 because he checked on us. We went here on a Monday for lunch. It wasn't too crowded or loud. We were seated quickly and sat inside since it was a little chilly outside. Mahony's had a good atmosphere. Our server was nice. She was friendly and polite. Our food was delicious. The burgers tasted much better than most tavern/bar burgers. The Philly cheesesteak was a knock off. It wasn't Philly style. It didn't have the correct toppings or the correct type of meat. Overall it was a fine sandwich, just don't label it as a Philly cheesesteak. I recommend coming here. This place is right next to the water and you can watch the seaplanes land and takeoff. The view is priceless. The food is delicious. I ordered a Bloody Caesar with Clamato juice. My favorite way to drink Bloody Mary. I also got the ahi tuna poke bowl which had rice sesame miso cucumbers grilled pineapple salsa and crunchy onions. They have a decent happy hour menu. I have been to this location a couple of times. Great for groups and even has a nice patio with a view. I usually get an old fashioned as it is my typical choice of poison. I like the old fashioned here. We were in a large group and ordered several appetizers. The nachos are fully loaded and decent. It's on the waterfront. You there after a day of hiking, get to sit outside, enjoy the beautiful water; you are going to feel pretty good. I would love to give the Tavern a 4 or 4.5 but the food is underwhelming. We went to watch the Euros at MahonY's and got great service, great ambiance and very accommodating staff. unfortunately the food was terrible, we had nachos to start. A pub with a exceptional view. Chances are you've probably walked right by Mahony's when trekking the vast sea wall or taking a gander at the latest cruise ship to dock by the Convention Centre. I came in a large group for happy hour and the service was great. Niamh was looking after us, and she was very attentive at making sure everyone had the correct order. In terms of Happy Hour, make it an early one, because Mahony's is from 2-5pm. And I'd pass on the Aperol Spritz's here, they are on the watery side. The chicken sliders came in a set of three and were great to accompany drinks. All in all it's a casual place to come for an early happy hour and enjoy conversation as you take in a nice view. For a bonus, they have both indoor and outdoor covered seating. read more

We stopped into this place on the Vancouver waterway while exploring the area for first time. What is very noticeable is the friendly staff and the food is excellent , served good portions and came out hot and fresh. Although we would like to give this a five star , we stopped by the next day again ... mostly to see the games and get another bit to eat. Overall, food and staff was great. Cactus club was empty but a 45 min wait(?) so we came here. As soon as we sat down Cactus was ready for us(by text 15 mins later) but Mahony was friendly and taking ppl for their empty tables. They were seating people at their empty tables right away(imagine that!) service was great but the nachos.. were wet. They have a pico de gallo and salsa verde.. we got the beef add on. This place is just amazing to hang out, order drinks and enjoy the big screen or just gaze out at the water. Its a favourite among many of my friends and just a lovely atmosphere to hang out in after work or over the weekends. We've been to both locations but prefer the one at Canada Place because of the convenience of accessibility to other things in Downtown. Stamps landing location is beautiful and preferred over summer days, where you can sit on the patio and have drinks and eat fish & chips! Their burgers, platters to share and fish & chips are fantastic! We especially love their platters to share - easily affordable for 3-4 friends who just want to go over and chill with a few drinks. Their staff are extremely friendly and does regular checks for drinks and more food. They are never in a hurry to clear tables, I love this about restaurants! They are quite full on Friday and Saturday evenings so reservations are probably the best. Even if we just walk in without reservations, they are still very accommodating and will give you a warm welcome. I can't remember the name of this waiter at Canada Place but he is Australian and just wonderful ! We've had him serve our table twice and he was engaging, funny and just exceptional to have a conversation with. It's a pity I can't remember his name but I suppose when you've had a couple of margaritas and mimosas, you're a little impaired to remember things! read more

We came here around 5:30pm on a long weekend, and we were seated at a patio right away. I ordered the pacific seafood chowder, and my partner ordered the beef dip with a side salad. The beef dip had great quality beef and it was very tasty, but my partner was still hungry after his meal. My seafood chowder was also quite small, and the waiter forgot to bring a spoon. He said he'd be back to bring me a spoon, but he never came back. I looked over and saw him clearing other tables so it seemed like he completely forgot. We eventually had to get someone's attention to obtain a spoon. The view can't be beat. Took one star off for the lack of spoon for my chowder and the smaller portions. read more

Although it seemed like, at least on the night we sat for a while, that we were not part of the younger crowd (we are late 40s).... so could be that we were just the old cooters at the bar? There are lots of beers and whiskey, we didn't stay long and didn't eat anything. Pretty cool bar fixture, very wide open and large, a bit impressive. This bar kind of reminded me of being in Boston for some reason. Festive enough but maybe not the kind of bar that makes our hearts go pitter pat. Great views though and right on the harbor.
