White wine flight: Rose, Pino Gris and Gewürztraminer.
    Steve K.

Picked this spot for drinks between lunch and dinner. Couldn't have chose a better spot. Not my usual lengthy review, but it was just for drinks. Had a nice selection of specialty cocktails, wines, and whiskey. My wife chose white wine flight (choose 3 out of 5) and I had the Canadian Whiskey flight (choose 3 out of 4). Everything was great but the star of the show was the service. Our bartender and one of the other staff (presumably waiter) were engaging and carried on a stimulating conversation. These guys were super friendly and really a pleasure. Very classy and modern feel. Not a huge place, but roomy enough. Sits inside the Hyatt Regency. Note they are closed between 2p-3p. Just happened to show up just after 2p. No biggie as we got a coffee StarBucks (also inside the hotel).

This is going to be short and sweet. Go. I'm staying at the hotel it's housed in so super easy location. Staff is beyond friendly and attentive. I had a wine flight of all local wines and the truffle parm fries. I might dream of them tonight. Cooked to perfection and oh so yummy! They have a ton of local beers, wines, bourbons, gin, etc. too!

Stayed at Hyatt and with a long day touring Vancouver, we decided to stay in and have dinner at Grain. Best decision, the food was great and the service was fast and pleasant. The ambiance was also nice with the large windows that were opened to the street. I would recommend Grain Tasting Bar to any tourists!

Nice restaurant inside the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver. We had pizza, which was quite good. Lisa, lir server, was great. The restaurant decor was very elegant, but cozy. Ambiance is relaxing.

The server, Alex, was so accommodating to my needs, even substituted a few things and double checked with the kitchen whenever he wasn't sure if it was what I needed. Very prompt, above and beyond service. The hummus wasn't spicy at all so don't let that stop you from ordering it.

Neat lounge located in the lobby of the Hyatt hotel. They serve both food and cocktails. I went for a quick nightcap, and the bartender was nice and helpful. She also recommended some other late night spots on the area.

Located in the lobby of Hyatt, I finally tried out this bar for a casual weekday catch-ups. They have a wide variety of seasonal and original cocktails on rotating basis, which are pretty good, though a friend complained that they didn't have anything whiskey based. I got a white wine tasting flights ($27), which had a nice combination of BC based winery. The waffle fries ($12) and chicken wings ($19) were also decent, with one caveat of the food taking +30 minutes to arrive.

We stopped into Grain Tasting Bar while visiting Vancouver. Here are my thoughts: LOCATION: Grain Tasting Bar is located inside of the Hyatt Downtown Vancouver, which is one of my favorite hotels in Vancouver. ATMOSPHERE: I really like the ambiance of this lounge. It is elegant and modern, but still warm and cozy. Very well decorated and a fun place to have drinks and appetizers. SERVICE: I have been to this lounge 3 times and the service has always been good. Our server was so sweet and attentive this last time. We asked for some recommendations around the area and she took the time to really help us out. FOOD/DRINKS: More than anything, I love the wine flights coupled with their Charcuterie & Cheese plate. It's a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. The Grain Beef Sliders are also very good and worth a try.

Service is great. Bartenders are chill and friendly. Nice ambiance, modern and clean. However, food is mediocre compared to a lot of other places downtown. The fish tacos were salty (Atlantic salmon) but other than that, not much flavour.

I decided to stop here for a late bite to eat after a late arrival into Vancouver. I have 2 stars because I was underwhelmed by the food/drink and staff didn't really know the menu. I ordered the Kung Pao cauliflower, which was just cooked cauliflower in a sauce and the waffle sweet potato fries. The fries had a good crisp but overall were kind of bland. Not pictured was the pear martini, it was okay. The garnish was too big and I ended up having to take it out or hold it in order to take a sip. As for the bar, it's definitely dim lit and gives a moody/romantic feel. Okay for a nightcap before heading to your room rather than a place to hang out or eat

This place was on the ground floor of our hotel so we stopped in for happy hour. Our server was outstanding and she took great care of us! We enjoyed beer and whiskey flights between us and loved the variety. We loved that we could sit inside and they opened up the large windows to the outside. It was a wonderful afternoon!

Nice little bar in the Hyatt Regency. Superb selection of Canadian whiskies with very knowledgeable staff. Excellent service.

Came I. To have dinner while staying at the Hyatt hotel. Was waiting for the server to come ask me for a refill on my 7uo that was 3.50 never got it. Also asked for a desert at 10:04 and was told the kitchen was closed. That they closed at 10:00 I will never eat here again or recommend it to anyone in town. Stay away from this place there are many other places walking distance with way better service. My service was a man and name k. The receipt is Jenny. F

It's a bit of a hike from downtown, but there is street parking, and we opted to take public transportation. Once you arrive, it's absolutely worth the trip. Good wine list! Hubby switched to a negroni that he liked and I had more wine but this time late night happy hour had started which was a nice treat! We ordered the Dolce de leche dessert and the kitchen was lovely and gave us both desserts on the menu as a bday treat. The rice dessert was incredible - it was like sticky toffee pudding but with a rice base. The caramel sauce was killer! It blew the dolce dessert outta the water. The service was also kind and attentive! The music choices were odd for our night, I love vinyl and collect it myself but just wasn't feeling the vibes that evening, it was a lot of house style music and the same beat over and over with no lyrics. Some folks loved it tho and had asked to move closer to the speaker so to each is own. The tables are also really close to your neighbor so you catch quite abit of convo around you and it's a touch distracting especially when it starts to get little loud as the room is small. It was fun to people watch though.

Ordering style was interesting, after we ordered our small plates we were ready to select our main courses but the staff just took our menu away and we had to ask another server to put in our main entrees. I understand they were busy so they may have assumed we were done ordering but it was a bit of an off putting experience. Overall food was good, the bread was divine. The highlight item for us was the tuna tar tar with chinese donuts, the chili crips totally brought the dish together. Everything else was pretty good, but wasn't amazing as I hoped. The citrus notes in the canton noodles threw me off and the chicken liver mochi balls felt more like a dessert dish than an appetizer for some reason. Highlight was having the DJ also be one of the servers!! Love the vibes that Bar gobo had, definitely a good date spot. Will have to come try it out again next season.

They serve it together with the pasta for Rachel whose flavours were sublime and in its unique shape. The brioche goes well with the pasta sauce. - truffled eggs were really good - crab dip with spiced madeleines was so unique and really good. - hamachi crudo was sublime. Flavours so so good. - roasted scallop was one of the highlights. The crunchy top combined with roasted flavour and the sauce it comes in - just so so good. - crispy eggplant I liked. Especially served with tomato puree. - the seared trout was really tender and the veggies it comes with complement excellently - the ribeye was amazing - the beignets and that chocolate mousse were fine. Actually the mousse was so light and good - and I hate chocolate! The only things I thought were just ok were the croquettes and the trout rilette. Highly highly recommended for all occasions especially special ones.
