This Good Co Bar is one of the best locations in town. They have a such beautiful view and their customer service is great. If you come early, you will enjoy their happy hour. I was craving nachos so we came for happy hour. The crispy cauliflower was one of my fave appies! The nachos was pretty tasty too but wished they threw in the guac without us paying extra. Overall the food was better than I expected. I also enjoyed the roasted mushroom ravioli and sliders. I was disappointed with the lemon pepper wings. But this is still a great place to catch a game or watch a sunset with a beautiful view! Service improved towards end of the night when it wasn't as busy. Location, location, location ... right!?! Good Co Pub is situated in a prime location in popular Steveston Village. See review for more pix. This pub will help to revive this area by bringing good cheer & exciting games (football, hockey etcetera) via big screen tv's, to this cozy neighbourhood. It's been a decades long struggle for City (aka boondoggle) Council to figure out what type of businesses to allow in, to set up shop in & around Steveston waterfront. One can always be trusted when they come knocking & say - ''I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Run fast if you ever hear those words! I was here at Good Co for the first time to see the Argentina vs Mexico (World Cup 2022) game. Sorry El Tri. My 'Pick me Upscale' cocktail was smooth like dat. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste of my cheeseburger. Great taste indeed. This pub has a nice vibe to it. The layout is on point & the views of the Fraser River are great. We had a long day on the ocean, and were looking for a good restaurant for dinner before Ubering back to Yale Town. The clerk at the nearby whale watching concession said goodco. had excellent food and she highly recommended it, so we went there. The hostess set the tone - we asked for a table or booth in a quieter area of the restaurant and she found the perfect table for us. Our server (Alysha) worked hard to take care of us, - she was professional AND personable. A chicken caesar wrap and a beef dip fit the bill perfectly. The beef dip was served with cold beef in the middle - that was the only flaw in the experience - the kitchen may be cranking out the orders too quickly and not making sure the food is ready to come out to the diners. Alysha made things right for us - she was doing an amazing job as every table was occupied. Looked to me like everyone was having a good time, too. We were more than ready for the classic margaritas when we got there - they were made and served correctly. Some, if not most of the tables and booths have a great view, and there's sports on the tvs so it's a fun place to visit. We'd definitely go back. read more

The location is great - when you arrive near the Steveston waterfront, this restaurant stands out. Before you leave the area, this restaurant stands out. It's kind of hard to miss. There's plenty of seating area and is a good place to bring your friends. The food is standard pub fare with large portions and the service was decent and our food arrived on time. Went in around lunchtime, having not had breakfast. My two friends were in the same situation. The atmosphere was quiet, the staff were professional and pleasant. Each of us were excited by the highlighted Brunch options on the menu and made our choices. The waiter returned and took our orders. Soon thereafter, he returned to apologize and inform us that Brunch is only available weekends. We made our revised choices, unenthusiastically. It is difficult to switch from Eggs Benedict to a Caesar Salad in short order. Fortunately the company was nice but a great occasion was made less so by an arbitrary rule that I suggest be reconsidered. read more

Organized a reservation specially on the patio for 5pm. Was not ready upon arrival and had us sit at a "waiting" table inside that only had room for half our party. No one came to greet us or see if we wanted drinks or anything, as we sat there for a good 30 minutes Half our party waited outside cause there was no room for them inside. 15 minutes later, they moved us and we all then sat at another "waiting" table inside, but we still had to wait for a table on the patio cause we had a dog with us. Hence why we asked for a table on the patio. 10 mins later they sat us outside Drinks were taken soon after and arrived in good time. We told her we wanted to order appetizers when she came to drop off our drinks, but quickly left and then went missing. So we decided to scratch the appetizers and to just order mains cause we were too hungry and were also on a time crunch, that they were aware of. But we couldn't even order our mains cause we hadn't seen our server in 20 minutes. We had to ask someone to track her down After taking our order, she returned and asked us if we could pay because she was off shift, but we hadn't even received our food yet. We did end up paying, but it was a huge mistake that we did There were 9 of us, and the first plate didn't touch our table till 715pm, and it was wrong as well as missing ketchup for the fries. The second plate hit the table 10 mins later. It was my salad and was incorrect. The third plate came 5 mins later. As the rest of the food came out, trickling slowly one by one, I asked for my salad to be remade because it had black beans, which I specially asked to be removed. As I was explaining my order, the girl abruptly cut me off and basically yelled at me asking me what I wanted. Everyone at the table was shocked! When it came back, it was clear that they tried to pick out the black beans instead of making a new salad because I still found a dozen or so black beans in the salad. Not to mention, the avocado was pretty much on its death bed It was now 745pm and 3 people still hadn't received their food. By the end, 2 orders never even came AND remember...we already paid for everything before the food started coming out! It was very unfortunate that we weren't able to all eat at the same time. We asked to speak with the manager and after everything was said and done, he took care of everything and gave us all refunds. As much as we appreciated it, it was a lot too late From the moment we got there it's was just a mess and no one really seemed to care or take initiative to make it right. There was no communication on what was happening unless we asked. Also, the arcade games were all out of service because they don't have the correct permits to operate them. Simply woeful, went for a beer and breakfast today, breakfast choice was minimal, two eggs with bacon and or avocado, not both, barman seemed taken aback that these two together on the same plate was viable. Breakfast came with no condiments, no salt or pepper, and it took an eternity for him to bring the tomato sauce, I was halfway through my minimal slices of Avocado, before they appeared. I asked if we could sit on the patio, they stated 15 minutes, no update or even an acknowledgement of the request, There was nobody out there! Guy next to me asked for a coaster for his beer, he was told 'we don't have any'...whaaat! I suggest a manager to be present, and staff spend less time gazing at their navels. On the plus side the choice of beers was impressive...don't ask for a coaster! read more

My party was accosted unprovoked upon entry by a drunk at the bar who proceeded to walk over to us at the front door and hurl obscenities, threats and racists remarks. Because we were at the front door checking in with the hostess, she witnessed all of it but did not step in, even when we asked for assistance. What she did do was tell us "don't worry about him, he's drunk". My party and I were seated on the patio where for the next 90 minutes, watched this man continue to drink at the bar. After paying our $200 bill, we left with no apology or comment from the staff or management. I was so upset by this that I emailed the GM the next day to contact me, which she did only after I messaged 2 more times, 4 days later. When she did call, she told me her staff had let her know what happened and that this man had done this to other guests and was banned from the restaurant. Immediately following that statement, she said "next time he's in, I'll remind him he can't talk to people like that". So, is he banned or not? Is this man allowed to verbally assault future guests too? She then explained away the staff's response saying the manager wasn't around and the hostesses were just teenagers so what could they do.The conversation ended with a version of I'm sorry this happened to you, next time you're in "we'll buy you a round or something". I can assure you, I will never be in again. An absolute miss by staff, manager, and General Manager. I hope the ownership team is made aware of how their guests are being treated and how their management staff are excusing and allowing abusive and racist behaviour. Additionally, I posted this review on Google weeks ago but they've managed to keep it off the site. Might explain why their google reviews are much higher than the Yelp reviews. These ones reflect the true experience much more realistically than on Google. read more

I purchased tickets on line for comedy night on January 25th 2024 with 3 girlfriends. The comics were funny and very engaging with the crowd and at the end the comics came over to thank us for coming. We definitely will be back if this comedy night happens again. Yikes. Here's the deal...it wasn't one. An appy & entree each, and 70% of it is in the garbage. I can't comment on service, this was delivery, but look...if this place gets most of its business from tourists, then the food blatantly gives the message that you are expected to be a one-time diner. I paid extra to have it delivered quicker, but it wouldn't have mattered. All of the items were mediocre at best, but brown lettuce? I thought at least I'd be able to eat the salad...but nope, that was the worst. Every piece of lettuce was expired. As for the rest...Ask for no pickles? Got extra. Ask for no sauce? Got it lathered on. Chicken tenders were tough, fries were tasteless. And the unfortunate example that first-timers will have of poutine is bordering unpatriotic. I get it that they probably make their money from one-time tourists, but just ask if we're local and tell us to save our money. This experience was disappointing to say the least. read more

Kitchen looks like a party zone of cooks, servers and friends certainly not compliant with license's code for restaurants. Little to no respect to local businesses nor residents. Entry way is filled with too many people, smoking, drinking, and fighting. How are patrons permitted to walk out of the bar with their glasses and continue into the boardwalk. Goodco, encourages patrons and staff to ignore no-smoking signs and have as good as far as tearing the signs down. Landlord Onni cares only about the lease $$$ and Good Co cares only about the bottom dollar. Some amazing staff, but not enough to encourage supporting this establishment. It wasn't too busy as it was 5 o'clock and there were three servers. I waited 10 minutes at the entrance where the sign said "please wait to be seated". None of the servers walking by came to seat me so I eventually I walked in to the restaurant to ask for a table. Given the wait already I asked if they were busy and if the order would take a while. Went here July 21 2024 at 5 pm. Had a dismal experience, and never even got to food! Will say this at top of review, I live in Steveston Village, 5 min walk from the location. I have eaten there many times. It was my go to place in the village, as they had quite a few options for vegetarians, and the food is good. Took a friend there for a quick bite to eat before he headed home. Restaurant was not super busy, but the patio looked a bit busy. we waited at front for 5 minutes to be seated. I actually made direct eye contact with the waitress who was standing beside the bar texting. She lifted her head, looked me in the eyes, then went back to texting. Finally a young girl came to seat us. we wanted to sit inside. 3 three booths were full, and people at the bar, rest of inside was empty. she sat us and gave us menus.......and then the wait began. 2 guys switched off from the bar, at least 3 waitresses(maybe a 4th not sure). All this and no one came by to ask if we wanted a drink, or place an order. after close to 15 min we just got up and left. not a single acknowledgement at all that we were there or why we left. ii think 2 of the waitresses were too busy chatting with each other just off to the side between the booths and door outside. I will say the young girl was kind enough to chase me down as I forgot my keys. so she got them to me and I thank her for the kindness, but she never once asked why we left. We ended up going to Love, where we were sat right away, and had proper service. We were not looking for fine dining service but just the basic level to grab a drink and food. I ended up spending $40 at Love, not sure what friend spent. We had dinner and couple drinks. Now I know $40 is not much of a loss to Good Co. but I have relayed my experience to 2 of my neighbours so far. Came here to check it out since it just opened in Stevenson. Had to wait 2 hours to get seated even though they told us its only a 30min wait. Finally thought we could get a table for 4, the hostess guided us to our table only to find out that the another party decided that they didn't like their assigned table and took ours. The hostess didn't even bother to offer a solution nor have the other party move back. She just stood there looking confused. Definitely not coming back here. VERY poor management. VERY inexperienced and unprofessional team. If there was a no-star option it would be given. If you don't want your night ruined, don't even bother taking your chances here. read more

Two stars because they do have a good selection of craft beer, their happy hour and 'tapped out" Tuesdays. The food is decent if not spectacular but the menu is far too small. The ambience could use some work too. As for the staff, with the exception of 2 or 3 people, 1 of whom gets hardly any shifts, it is probably the least friendly bar staff I've ever encountered. They are aloof and seem to have very limited social skills and always appear lifeless and morose without a spark of energy. I've pretty much stopped going there altogether because I prefer a bar where the staff lifts one's spirits as opposed to the "woe is me" vibe I get from them. Food was ridiculously gross - I was worried about getting sick while eating it. A salad + a drink was $40. Seems like their entire staff is untrained. Save your money during these times of inflation and bring it to a proper restaurant where you will be treated with more professionalism. What a waste of money. Went there for lunch; it was very quiet in term of customers volume. Two hostesses came to get our order, we were just two, so it felt a bit funny. The food was decent, not amazing, but it was what you would expect from a "pub, sports bar" place. One hostess checked on us just as the food was delivered and no one checked on us after that. My partner was thirsty and he had to drink my water for lack of better option. This was very surprising because the place was not busy. When I asked for the bill, it was brought promptly but then no one came to our table with the Credit card machine, although I asked for it. I ended up going to the main hostess hub by the bar, the hostess apparently assigned to our table handed me the machine and left, before I could even get my card out. I felt like "here is the machine, pay and leave". The place was really not busy and I wonder how it must be during rush hour on the weekend because the service was terrible. Although I am a local, I will not go back there. There are plenty of nicer places in Steveston and the next time I want a pub-like environment, I will rather spend my money at the Flying Beaver which never disappoints. Done! Dined there five times on my own and twice with others since the Steveston Good Co. opened . Went early this evening for dinner on my own. Like every other time I've been there on my own, I first was asked if I want to sit at the bar, which I politely declined. Two of the previous times, I've been forced to wait up to ten minutes to sit at a table anywhere else when there have been multiple empty seats at long tables where I've seen multiple people share, not as one party. Almost never have I been able to get a seat at an empty deuce outside. Tonight, when I declined a bar seat, I asked if I could sit at one of the three open high-top tables along the window that have six or eight seats-- all of which were empty at all tables. I was told I would have to put my name on a wait list for those. I politely asked why. I was told there was a wait list for those seats but I could sit at the bar. There was no queue. There were a few other empty deuce tables both inside and out. I asked again why I couldn't be seated at those tables and was told there was a wait list. I believe this property has 290 seats. I counted at least 31 empty seats before disgust got the better of me and I left and visited another Steveston restaurant close by. Over the years, as a local citizen activist, I lobbied long and hard for the City to approve zoning that would permit the property owners -- Onni Group-- to be able to tenant these buildings with retail tenants who operate the kind of businesses Blueprint operates, such as Good Co. I've spent over $350 at Good Co, which is located a block from my home, just over the last few short weeks. I won't ever spend another penny or another second in the place and I will recommend to all my neighbours, as well as friends who visit Steveston, to avoid a place that is so insensitively managed. I know some of the people behind Blueprint. They're experienced operators. I'm surprised they don't have better trained staff. read more

Went when it first opened. Havent gone back. I dont think it will survive the winter. Wine list is non existent and what they have they serve in a tumbler? Impossible 2 get staff in steveston as not a tipping kind of place so all restaurants suffer. Patio has no heaters so will be closed as soon as weather changes. I have been three times now in the evening past 7pm. Our party didn't order food each of those times as we were out for drinks and the kitchen had been closing anyways. For a place to go for a night out the arcade games are a nice touch, but the servers are inexperienced and a little unprofessional which hurts more than helps the vibe. Our drinks came much too slow. In terms of the energy, it was clear from the crowd in there that people wanted to make it a good place to party and be a little rowdier than what it was allowing because the lights were bright (we asked them to turn them down which they thought was a good idea) and the music bass is was too loud and you couldn't even make out the songs which is a shame! I'm willing to come back because it has endless potential but it has lots of room for improvement. read more
