Really happy with dinner at this place last night. Ordered the shady burger and some potato skins. The burger patty had really good flavor and everything seemed fresh and made with quality. Worth the price of the food to me. Great selection of booze and beer. Also loved the decor inside and out. Not sure who the photographer is of the wild animal shots inside but they have captured some great moments. If I was a local I would come here as much as I could afford! Also FREE POOL

Had a Caesar in addition to what is photographed. Everything was solid. I'd come here again. Portion sizes were HUGE. We were 2 and what we ordered probably could have fed a family of 4. Watch out when ordering. It was a Friday night, busy and bustling. A little loud. Looked like a good neighborhood joint.

Stopped in on a Friday night and was pretty busy. Service was friendly and didn't take too long. Not a fancy spot but it got the job done. We had a beer and split the mushrooms and poutine, both pretty good. Wish we would have tried the wings after seeing the sign outside, pretty cold statement :).

    Good feeling!

While setting up for a gathering nearby, we got hungry and i had heard about this place so we decided to check it out for that in between time after lunch but not quite supper... Nice selection on the menu and super friendly staff but after 50 minutes still had not received our two burgers and one salmon burger! When they finally did arrive they were charbroiled on the outside yet juicy inside like magic! Nice side salad for me and yam fries for my friend and a decent selection of Drinks. Music is contemporary and there are huge screens around but up high so you can sit on a lower level of this multi- leveled place without being disturbed by the tv's. There is a sunny patio with nice views.

Meh. Go to panago instead. Nothing about these wings stand out. Barely a touch above room temperature. Disappointing.

Disappointing in both service and food. Ordered the nachos wings and mushroom caps. The latter was good but the nachos were microwaved. You could completely tell-cold in the middle inside the giant pile of tortillas and cheese and the cheese wasn't brown. Nacho chips weren't crispy at all. Don't let the size of it fool you but these were likely the worst nachos I've ever had in my entire life. They were barely touched because it was just gross. The mushroom caps. Yummy. Broiled well. The plate was piping hot and the mushrooms as well as the shrimp and crab inside was super tasty! Piled on top was a piece of garlic bread to go with it. Definitely yummy and probably the best dish there. And now for their famous wings. Quite honestly they should be famous for being just a touch above room temperature. Honestly they're nothing to write home about. I'd rather have Panagos. I had the honey garlic (the sauce tasted like it came out of a can). My friends ordered the hot, buffalo, and lemon pepper. They all came out at approximately room temperature. How disappointing. And now doe the service. This was probably the icing on top of a very badly made cake. Our server came around and "memorized" all our orders. Note they tjat was in quotation makes because she came back to have us repeat or. When we tried to correct her, her exact words were "no. Look at me. You ordered a...(listed off the order)." So of course she missed one of the orders of wings. Isn't this what paper was made for? When this was brought up to her, she laughed. Yes. She laughed. And then stayed "oh my gosh my brain couldn't handle all that. They don't take long to make." Not even an apology. My friend also didn't get the glass of water she asked for. Oh and she only came back to check on us and ask how the food was near the end of our meal. I ultimately got up myself, grabbed a glass, as well as a pitcher of water to pour for everyone because she couldn't be bothered to come back. Perhaps I should have asked for a tip from my fellow diners since I ultimately had to do her job. Top rated for wings? Nope. But definitely top of the list for one of the worst dining experiences ever.

I feel sick, lightly battered my ass. The fish and chips were barley edible. Fries were cold and the fish was mush. Extremely disappointed in my meal. At least the rest of my long weekend was perfect. On another note never order a margarita here

Stopped in for a bite on my way to whistler, very nice pub with large windows and views of the mountains and sporting events on tv. I had a good experience, good service no sticky tables and I didn't try the ketchup. I ordered a grilled Salmon sandwich which was rather good, and some beer which was just OK. I ordered some sweet potato fires with the sandwich and they were great, crispy and super tasty.

Where to go after a Sqamish area hike. We found this pub by doing a search on the GPS. for grub in the area. It's a perfect after-hiking pub to reclaim all those lost calories you left on the trail. Everyone was pretty satisfied with the food, and one of our party who had the Salmon burger and said "it was the best one" she ever had! The Buffalo burger looked delicious, the salads were actually huge, which I had with a nicely seasoned chicken breast on top, although the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, and I was not crazy about the fries, myself, but the onion rings looked good. There was something called "Big Bones" which was no exaggeration, being that these are Flintstone sized ribs and it was only an appetizer! it was priced around 11 bucks. The value is really good, even the Beer prices are reasonable. There's plenty of seating both inside and out on the enclosed porch-like room with a view. Of course the setting is awesome, so stars just for the view. We picked the round table, with a large ventilation hood above it and wondered what the heck that was all about. It turns out it was an old bbq. and as charming as it seemed at first, I'd recommend you choose another table, because 3 out of our seated 7 managed to 'crown' themselves with that hanging obstruction at one point or other. The decor is pretty campy. Do you know what a troll is? it's not the person who irritates you online, no-o-o, it's a gnome- like character seen in these pic'ts. http://shadytreepub.com/photos.htm Let's just say The Shady Tree is partly a troll museum. You spend half the time trying to figure out all the stuff going on in the diorama's up on the walls, and the other half bobbing your head around to catch all the games going on the multitude of tele's. The serving staff are well informed and obviously fans of the place they work. They're pretty good about special needs diets (there were two Celiac's and a diabetic in our group.) The bus boys were kind of brisk, swooping up plates before you put your fork down so they could catch the start of the Canucks game I assume, but that's okay. It's all good. Now I just realized that I ate at a place called Shady Island, and now I've eaten at the Shady Tree. wh-a-a-a-h? what shade of weird is that?

Oh. My. Lord. This visit was the best ever! My niece's flatbread & salad was gorgeous, my wife's Snapper Fish & Chips was amazing, and my Turkey Club with half-Caesar / half-yam-fries was RIDICULOUSLY INCREDIBLE! Great service. Good pricing. Excellent draft beers. You just cannot go wrong with Shady Tree Pub!

We stopped in for the wings ;)

A friend and I have been traveling through Squamish quite a bit this summer exploring, we had drove past this place many times but never stopped in. (I'm regretting that now.) Last weekend was our first time there as we desperately wanted wings after our trip to whistler. It's decent sized pub, kind of reminded me of back home (New Brunswick) very country. I loved it. The staff are very friendly and always make you feel welcomed even if you're getting food to go! We ordered the honey garlic wings and they were ready in about 10 minutes. Best wings ever! I'll defiantly be coming back next weekend!

This is a really cool stone outside the front door

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

It's rustic in that honest, country way: wood, warmth, and a smallish-town Squamish vibe that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. The location does half the work for the ambiance, the rest comes from the feeling that someone actually cares about feeding you well. This is home-cooked brunch with intention. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and every plate feels thought out, like it's been tested by real people who eat breakfast for a living. The pancakes are the headline act--huge, fluffy, unapologetic, and exactly what you want when you're leaning back in your chair wondering if you should order another coffee or surrender to a food coma. And if the night before got a little loose, the double Caesar is a public service: bracing, restorative, and delivered without judgment - oh my aching head. What really seals it, though, is the staff--genuinely welcoming, on their game, and clearly proud of the place. The Crabapple Café isn't trying to be trendy or precious. It's just very good at what it does. A must-try in Squamish, especially if you believe breakfast should be comforting, filling, and a little bit healing. This is not our first time, and definitely not our last. The cafe has become our way station before heading up to Whistler. CHEERS!!!
