Cute pub/restaurant tucked away but easy to get to. Definitely recommend for great food, atmosphere, and service! We went while traveling and liked that we saw it was a local favorite which is always a good sign! We started with spinach artichoke dip that came with pita and it was creamy perfection. Followed that with a burger and chicken strips. Both were solid and didn't disappoint. Burger was juicy and fixings fresh. My wife said her chicken strips were also delish! The staff were very attentive and the restrooms were clean. Visitors looking for a fun place with lots of food options to choose from should definitely check it out. Great pub not far off of Sea to Sky Hwy. Our family of four ordered diverse items off of the menu and everyone enjoyed their meal. Lamb burger special was great. Nice draft beer options. Hockey on TV, great service, family friendly at the time were there in the early evening. Will return! read more

Used Yelp to find this cute bar on our way to Whistler. Three vegan options! Mac n cheese, jackfruit tacos, and a kale caesar. We got the first two. Solid dishes. Good beer selection with take home options too. Seating is open and cafeteria style. There is a fireplace and tons of games. read more

Love it! We chose this place because we wanted to try something new. So happy with our decision. All of us loved it. We hadn't been here since they opened and were pleasantly surprised at how the interior had been renovated. It looks great in there modern feel well still keeping a classic pub vibe. Immediately upon entrance they have some nice signage to let you know if their Covid procedures. When you brought to the table they hand you a little sheet with all the protocols that they ask you to follow and they're really simple straightforward leave no room for questions and kind of make you feel safe. They have clearly thought about this seriously and it shows. The menu is not huge here. Normally, I get a little freaked out by such a small menu but although they don't have a lot of things everything they have on it is clearly thought out and appetizing. I think they follow the old adage about doing a few things extraordinarily well rather than a bunch of things so so. We started off with an order of the cauliflower wings for the table. They were so good we had another order of the cauliflower wings for the table which is some thing we absolutely never do. I like that they use small pieces of cauliflower so they weren't gigantic and overwhelming they were nice and crispy super delicious. I ordered the pork tacos and cannot explain in words how delicious they were. I was sceptical because there's a few ingredients that I'm not a huge fan of but I might need to reconsider what I'm a fan of because these tacos were out of this world. I'm not even a huge taco fan and these were amazing.So many flavours yet they were still simple. My husband ordered the fish tacos and was blown away as well. He was a little sceptical at first because he prefers his fish tacos with non-battered fish but he said this may have helped change his mind from that. Full disclosure I am allergic to seafood both fish and shellfish so I could not try them. I believe that they were as good as he said they were they looked absolutely beautiful on the plate and his smile pretty much said it all. Our daughter join us for dinner and is a vegan. They did have a few options here but she decided to stay with the theme of the night and try the jackfruit tacos. She was a little sceptical because she's only been a vegan for a few months and have never tried or knew what jackfruit was but she tried them and said they were amazing and now she's going to try and find some more jackfruit recipes of her own. So thank you backyard for inspiring her. They had an awesome features menu as well that had a lot of mushroom stuff on it and I will be back to try some of those items. I don't like to eat a lot of meat and I love that this place has a lot of great vegetarian options. Without a doubt 100% will absolutely be back. read more

Great selection of beers on tap, and yummy pizza. Kids friendly and the pizza was crunchy where it needed to be. The bathroom has a change table. Finally a place that serves a great beer & burger! Ambiance is a little cold but kind of reminds me of an Après Ski place. Service is good, attentive and quick. Mind you, it wasn't too busy at the time but still appreciated the servers attention. Best burger in town!! read more

We were driving to Whistler BC from Vancouver and decided to stop in Squamish. So I whipped out my trusty phone and asked Yelp where to go. "The Backyard" said Yelp and Ill even show you the way. A few minutes later and we were enjoying a Whistler Brewing lager, a bourbon lemonade and some really good poutine and street tacos. Weird though, because It seems that the further I get from SoCal, the better the tacos. Anyway, the place was clean, the service was excellent and the food and drink made me a little jealous that The Backyard isn't anywhere near my backyard. read more

We waited one hour for our food ,received the appetizer with out entrees,which had sat under heat lamp 10 min. Wings had no flavor and were oily . My burger was undercooked my fries looked like the bottom scraping of the fryer . For 60+ $ WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN! Our waitress did not ask us at any time how our meal was and when another waitress took our plates she was told how terrible the meal was she replyed with those are the ends of the fries she said sorry for undercooked half left burger..... peppermint tea ( after 10 mins of her looking for sugar)and beer were food pork tacos also good . All in all it was not an enjoyable experience. For a place not that busy there was no organization. read more

The Backyard is a great addition to the pub/brewery scene in Squamish. Their beer selection is really good, and they even have other drinks like wine etc. I am now officially addicted to their bourbon lemonade. The food is good too. I usually have a veggie burger, and my husband has the regular one. There's another review with mention of the poutine. This alone is worth the detour into Valleycliffe! Plenty of places to plug in if you're "working from home" too. read more
