Good pub food and reasonable prices. About 10 years ago they had "10 under $10" but no longer. Still, the food won't break the bank. Our server was cheerful, efficient, and courteous. Visiting Gibsons for the week and a friend came out to visit me for lunch. A local friend suggested we try Gramma's. It was a little tough to access for my friend who walks with a cane - stairs up to the door then another flight down upon entry - but we walked slowly and made it in one piece. Our waiter was lovely and helpful - I asked for her recommendations but I chose to go for the cod and chips which were on special as it was Monday. Michael ordered the quinoa salad and added salmon. I tried his salmon and it was really tasty and not at all dry. My fish and chips were great - super greasy which made me happy! I had asked for extra crispy and it was all done to perfection! Great views and even though it was quiet chilly outside we stayed toasty on the enclosed deck due to a space heater. Walked in the bar afterwards and if I lived locally I would love to hang out here - warm and comfortable and welcoming! read more

Had their brewed Stout Beer here and it was very refreshing. (yes they are famous for their craft beer according to the tour guide). By the way, I am someone who doesn't drink but I actually liked it. It wasn't like crazy strong with that crazy bitter beer taste. It was refreshing and would make an awesome drink on a hot day. I heard how Gramma's pub came about was that the owner (two sons, one was a judge or lawyer and as well one of the son was the mayor at Gibson at one point) wanted his own brewery and bought the pub and because his mom likes to drink so they named it Gramma's pub. A good story behind it. This place has a few outdoor seating. so you can feel relax looking out into the water. THere are two floors. You can enter from the bottom or basement (how you call it) or you can enter from the parking lot and eat inside. But their patio area is only available downstairs. read more

A friend and I travelled to Gibsons, and while shopping ~ were recommended by locals to check out Gramma's Marine Pub. We parked nearby and found the side entrance door ~ had to go down 2 flights of stairs to main pub area. This may not suit all patrons, though there appeared to be an outside, lower, small patio section. This pub was not too busy on a Saturday night, 7 pm, and we chose a nice table overlooking the water. Menu is standard pub fare, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and regular selection of beers on tap. They had some good drink specials, and their lunch special looks like a bargain. Our server was a polite, sweet younger girl, she came over and took our order quite quickly. She recommended the fish and chips over other menu items, so I ordered the 1 pc cod & chips. The fish and chips were quite good, I am rather fussy about my fish and chips. Small fish portion, but nicely battered, tender fish. Lots of fries that were frozen but tasty. Tartar was tangy & excellent and appeared to be home-made with lots of dill. My friend enjoyed her burger and it did look good, though fairly standard to what most pubs serve. Average prices for a pub in the $10-$20 range for most entrees. Service was attentive, and the view overlooking the docks and water was divine. Recommended ~ and I will return to try their lunch menu. read more

It's been around for ages, but recent changes by management and a new executive chef have really improved the place. With it's beautiful view of Keat's Island, the food is better than you would expect. Sure the place could use a decor redo, but who cares, this a pub not fine dining. During the summer they have amazing AYCE seafood and BBQ buffets. Come during spot prawn season in the summer. You'll get all the prawns, clams, oysters you want all for I think 18 bux! read more

Garbage. Absolute rubbish. Don't bother. Wings even at half price on Friday we're over priced. Waitress warned us about the northern hot wings, or whatever they are called weren't spicy, so we got the cayenne ones and they were also not spicy at all and they were super dry. The cod and chips were shit. They do not even look appetizing. I think the batter had dill in it maybe but it looks gross and the fish was soggy and I almost barfed. Like pureed fish. Fucking gross. When I told the waitress it was crap it seemed like she's heard that about it many times. Like, get a new chef. Girlfriend had the fish tacos and I tried some cause I didn't want to even want to try anything else off the menu after the fiasco with the fish and chips, and I wasn't sure if I had taken a bite or not cause I couldn't taste anything. This place is like on the ocean and they kill fish just to have it thrown into the garbage. What a waste of life. Pathetic. Can't post with out giving a star. Great local pub. They've got a wide variety of choices for anything you're feeling. Great atmosphere and great views. Their burgers are all organic which is fantastic and you wouldn't expect it there. Service has always been pleasant. I've tried the burgers, salads, fish tacos and chicken fingers. All delish pub food. I have yet to try the war wonton soup but I keep hearing rave reviews about it. One time, we were just heading in and a man leaving stopped and told us we had to have the wonton soup. We didn't know him at all. It must be good! No complaints here. read more

Your standard pub but this one is right in the heart of Gibson's and right on the water. Great view from the balcony and from their take out area below. I found the service to be slow here especially when there was only a few tables of people. Maybe they are expecting you to order drinks, I'm not sure. They have a big selection of beer and cocktails but the waitress had to tell me all of them and I couldn't remember what she said I got so confused so I tried asking for ones I usually drink which are local, didn't have them too bad... It would of been easier if they had a printed drink menu then I would of ordered one. After the meal though I found a chalkboard drink menu but didn't help me after I was finished there...but I thought the chalkboard was pretty cool. Anyways! Enough about drinks... Food! I tried the oyster Rockefeller, I've never had this before so I wanted to try it and it tasted pretty good for trying it for the first time. I also had the seafood chowder, it had good taste but I was kinda disappointed with this one it had mostly clam shells in it and I had to take the shrimp shells off which was a pain trying to get them off in a hot chowder! No potatoes in it but they had shredded peppers and onion which is fine but not a standard seafood chowder. They also advertised mussels in the chowder I didn't see any... My father had the club sandwich he said it was really good, you can't go wrong with a club, and if you do you shouldn't be eating there lol. My mom had the steak sandwich she said it was tender and ok. Next time I come here I think I would just go for drinks and appys. I imagine its a happening place on the weekends. read more

I understand the prior reviews. However, we had a good time here. My wife and I ordered the Cod and Halibut with chips. And, we tried a couple of beers from the local Persephone brewer. Fish was super fresh and the batter was just right. Not too heavy with a little dill in the mix. Fries were crispy and paired well with the fish. We also ordered the oysters which were from the region as well. We are biased toward the West coast oysters and these were on par with what we expected. If you want a good place to chill, and you are not in a rush, this is a good place to grab a bite and a brew and enjoy what you really came to Gibson's for...the peace and beauty of a small coastal town. read more

My wife and I came to the Sunshine coast for a day trip today, and stopped at Gramma's for lunch, We ordered two appys and a bowl of wor-wonton soup. The soup was as good as any my wife has ever had and the prawns in it perfectly cooked. The potato skins were delicious and very generously topped. The won-ton purses, which were our other appy, were wonderful and the sour cream that actually acompanied my potato skins was a perfect side for this too. I not only found the cost of the meal reasonable, but because of the great service from their staff, found this meal worth the ferry price as well. My congratulations to a well run house both the front of house for their service and to the kitchen for excellent quallity and perfect timeliness. read more

I've been at Gramma's about a half-dozen times in the past 5 years. I came in a few times because I was told the new cook was good and got one good meal out of it. Everything else is ordinary at best. The waitresses still thrust up their tits to hustle tips. The bartender is still gruff and doesn't give a shit. What an experience. Like I'd like to give it a lower rating, but I really feel that I got the "local Gibsonian" experience here. I came here with some friends for a drink quite late on a Saturday night in August. It was not exactly hopping. When we first arrived it took awhile for our server to take our order (likely due to the huge crowds) so we were able to people watch a bit. Clearly we are dealing with locals. Everyone knows everyone Suddenly, it becomes unclear who actually works here and who doesn't, as people who were sitting at the bar, are now going about their business behind the bar. ...What? So random woman #1 goes and grabs her purse. She leaves for a while, then comes back with bags full of booze from the attached liquor store. She puts them behind the bar. So many unanswered questions- does she work here? is this booze for the bar? Are you allowed to bring booze from the liquor store into the bar? Spoiler alert- when she was ready to go home at the end of the night, she took it all with her. At one point, someone who all the employees (and the lady we suspect to be Gramma) know by name gets kicked out. It's very dramatic. We get the impression that this is not the first time he's been kicked out. But don't worry, because even though Gramma said to never show his face there again, he "doesn't even care." Please keep in mind that this was being shouted across the bar aka being handled very professionally. We got the impression that this is really more of a beer drinking bar- when some of my colleagues asked for scotch, it took no less than 3 employees to figure out if they had any. To be fair, when they did find it, it was decent scotch, and it was really reasonably priced. Getting a 2nd round of drinks was a struggle. Our server was busy with all the other clients/ suspected other employees. I'm still scratching my head about this place... I have no idea if I would go back. read more

I went there a couple weeks ago with a few friends. Had some great fish and chips. Well, fish and salad because I didn't want the chips. It was great as was that of one of the others. The batter was thick, but not greasy; it could have had some more spice in it, but still great. The fish was tender. One of the others had an oyster po'boy or something, I can't remember exactly what, but he really enjoyed it also. The waitress was sweetm but lacked a little training-- my friend noticed a fly in his beer and she apologized, but did not offer to replace it or take it off the bill until he basically asked her to rectify the problem. If you want the smallest portion of fish and chips for the highest price in town this is the place to go. If you must get the fish and chips here at least get 2 pieces to stand a chance of getting full. It wouldn't be so bad but the taste and tartar sauce were mediocre at best. Terrible service here. The wait staff did took our orders without writing anything down which is fine if they get the order correct but they didn't and when we told them so they insisted we ordered it and was very rude about it. We waited for our food for over 30mins but had to ask them to pack it to go in because we had a ferry to catch. It took them over 20 mins to pack our orders and when we bill came they charged us for what we did order. Very disappointed with their service, made us feel like we were not welcome at all. Food was average but we had it packed up so it might not have been as fresh as expected. read more

Great pub. A great weekend trip for us is to hop in our sailboat and head up to Gibson's Marina, specifically for a stop at Gramma's for Saturday night. The food is outstanding for a small town pub. We've never had anything but friendly service. Terrific view over the water too! read more

I love the fish tacos, best thing they've added since I've been going there. It used to have a great sauce that went with it, then they changed it to tzatziki....that part sucks because it doesn't suit it:( Good location. Gramma's is a friendly pub with good food and friendly staff! Johnny the bartender knows everyone by name and always has a smile on his face. The menu is fairly extensive and nicely priced. I am always happy with the food as it is prepared fresh - so much better than most pubs where everything is frozen and thrown in the deep fryer. It can be a little quiet in the winter but Gramma's is the place where everyone feels welcome. (Unlike Smitty's Oyster House - which has the rudest staff and overpriced food) read more
