Yorkshire Pudding
Tia C.

First off, the views are really what made us decide on this place while waiting for the ferry. The service was ok we asked for a spot out on the empty patio, and we were sat by the bar. We asked again to be on the patio, and the person rolled their eyes while they moved us finally to the patio. The menu is pretty decent but can be on the pricey side but then remember the neighbourhood you are in. I fancied the Yorkshire Pudding, and it was gigantic. I was not expecting that portion size, and I certainly could not have finished it in one sitting. It looked more appetizing than it was, sadly. It lacked flavour, and I'm talking just basic seasoning like salt and pepper. That is no way it would make up for the lack of flavour, but at some point, I would have taken it. Overpriced for the food. The only real reason for the two stars is the view from the patio was enjoyable until the ferry arrived. If it wasn't for that then it would have been 1 star.

Ordered Yorkshire Pudding to share, the kitchen kindly pre-cut and plated them nicely for us.

The seating might be stained and weathered, but the food and service are unexpectedly outstanding! I have tried a few items on various visits - Calamari, Coconut Prawns, Fish Tacos, Pulled Pork Poutine, and they were all delicious. My absolute favorite and highly recommended dish would be their Yorkshire Pudding! This stuffed puff pastry is so giant, I usually don't add sides and would always pack half to go or split it with someone. It's full of garlic mash, shaved roast beef, caramelized onions, and gravy, this savory dish makes the perfect comfort food. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy your food and drinks on the patio while taking in the ferry and harbour view.

Such a great cozy pub!! It was our first time, but not the last. We seated at the bar, and Barman was very courteous and attentive . We had a delicious bottle of California Chardonnay and two mushrooms delicious soups and chicken wings . It is a great pub!! With a great culinary !!! Next time we will try the fish and chips , because what we saw for other tables was remarkable well presented and generous portions .

I took my family to Troller Ale House today. We had absolutely amazing food - the Giant Yorkshire Pudding, Grilled Cheese + Carmelized Onions, Chorizo and Tomato Soup, and Chicken Tenders and Fries. We were served by Krystian, who took care of our every need even though it was super busy. The restaurant looks out on Horseshoe Bay and has stunning views of the mountains. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Horseshoe Bay.

Quinoa salad w ahi

Lovely spot. Decent food but little bugs crawling on booths - maybe fruit flies? I had the veggie quinoa burger and found it to be quite dry and a little bland. The salads were good - fresh veggies and a yummy house dressing! The clam chowder was different (more like a chicken noodle cooked in the homestyle way) but definitely good. There were a great selection of drinks here and something for every taste. Our group included a GF person, two IPA drinkers, and one fruit/sour beer lover. Everyone found something to satisfy their tastes. The restaurant has the perfect location across from Sewell Marina and is designed to maximize the small space adjacent to the walkway outside. They have an outdoor patio with heat lamps for sunset dining and the inside portion of the restaurant is cozy.

Cod Fish and Chips

Tried this pub for a change on our stopover after a difficult hike. We both ordered Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder soup. The restaurant was not busy so were seated right away. The staff are friendly and the place was very nice. The Clam Chowder was good, the coleslaw have a bland taste due to lack of dressing. Fries were okay but a bit smaller in serving size. The Cod Fish was okay, a bit of smaller in size and bit of greasy. The tartar sauce has a bland taste.

Pulled Pork Tacos

Bottom line, best bar food I've had anywhere. We stumbled upon Troller in the quaint community of Horseshoe Bay and decided to stop in for a quite bite before trekking back to YVR for our flight home. We ordered the pulled pork tacos and BBQ wings. Both were excellent, and the wings were delightfully crisp - would love to know their secret. We arrived to a few tables occupied but by the time we departed around 4 pm it was a packed house with a diverse crowd. Next time we'll hope to explore more of this cute area!

Fish tacos $12 were good

This could have been a 3 star review. But I don't like being lied to. When our food came my husbands halibut was about 2 inches by 2.5 inches and about half an inch high- and with a spare odd piece the size of a quarter thrown to the side. Seriously looked like it may have weighed about 1.5-2 ounces. We all looked at it as if it were a joke. I asked the waitress "there must be some mistake- I have never seen an entree of fish this small- is this an appetizer?" She said "yes-it is- our entrees are 3.5 ounces" (which is ridiculously small portion- but this was smaller than even that would be). I said "oh that explains why it is so small" and my husband then said "I didn't realize I ordered off the appetizer section". We all laughed and offered to share our food with him- with her standing right there with us- Imagine our shock when the bill came and it was charged at entree price of $18! We asked her why and her ACTUAL answer was "we don't have halibut appetizers so that WAS our entree. You must have misunderstood me..." What in the actual heck?!? Service was meh even if that didn't happen. Atmosphere was good. View of the harbor was nice. Prices a bit high for what they offer. We ordered the following: Quinoa with salmon instead of seared tuna- $16-another "misunderstanding" as she said "to make the change it would probably be the same price-but could be $1 more or less than the Tuna". She added $2. Caesar salad bland and over dressed $9.95 Nachos with cheese good and plentiful $12+4+3 =$19!!! A bit pricey for nachos Added chicken $4 Added guacamole $3(!) Halibut over rice $18- for a RIDICULOUSLY SMALL portion that wasn't even good fish tacos good and nice size $12 Clam chowder good $7 Moscow mule (they missed the memo that this drink is served in a copper cup for flavor-and served it in a small rocks glass) $8.50 2 glasses of wine $23

I was intrigued by the location even before I came here in person as I could see on the map that it was in a residential area, away from main streets and other commercial businesses. There was only one lady working here (Monika). I came here with my mom. She ordered a Chai Latte and I ordered a Matcha Latte. Our drinks came out fairly quickly but we had to wait quite awhile for our food. We had each ordered a slice of quiche with a bowl of Potato & Leek soup. Monika realized we had waited quite awhile for our food and brought us a chunk of carrot cake on the house to make up for the long wait. She said this cake was their bestseller. No room to eat the cake as tummy space was already taken up by quiche and soup, so we brought the cake home. The cake was quite good indeed and I enjoyed the quiche as well. Drinks and soup could have been better. I would have preferred my Matcha Latte to have been sweeter and my mom felt her Chai Latte was a bit too sweet for her. I think this place has potential and perhaps might do better with a bit more help. It's a charming space in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I do hope there will be more staff working here eventually. Kinda sounded like Monika had taken over this shop not too long ago so...guess it's in a bit of a transitional stage.

I'm an eggplant lover so when it comes to Persian restaurants, Bademjan has long been my "go to"…read moredish. It typically has meat in it so I've had it a lot less ever since I became Pescatarian. When I read the menu for Miraas online and saw that they had a Vegetarian version of Bademjan, I knew I had to try this restaurant! I came here on a Thursday evening with my mom and we ordered the following: Mirza Ghasemi (Smoked Eggplant Dip) Breaded Shrimps Veggie Mosamma Bademjan The Mirza Ghasemi appetizer came with one piece of bread which my mom and I split into half. It was a warm and tasty appetizer. I was a bit surprised at how quickly it was served to us, but found no fault with the dish and sooner is better than later. With only one piece of bread for this appetizer, there was plenty leftover to bring home afterwards. Mom's Breaded Shrimps dish was super crispy. It was basically like a Prawn Tempura in a Japanese restaurant but a lot crispier than that. I think my daughter would love this dish and will have to bring her to this restaurant so she can order it for herself sometime. My Veggie Mosamma Bademjan was served with a very generous portion of Tahdig (Crispy Persian Rice) and it was the most beautiful plate of Tahdig I have ever seen. I've seen basic versions of Tahdig online. A basic version would be white rice on the bottom with a golden crust on top. This one had the white rice and golden crust on top, along with a sprinkling of dried barberries, something green (pistachio or pumpkin seeds?), and grains of dark pink rice scattered around the edge of the plate. It was so colourful and quite the sight to behold. Service could have been a bit better. Our server wasn't rude or anything like that. Just that I felt like I had to constantly stick my hand up and wave it in the air to get attention. Would have been nice if our server had simply been more attentive to us, without me having to wave my hand in the air. Food was awesome though. We will definitely come back again sometime.

The patio itself is in a beautiful spot and they've added patio heaters, which makes it comfortable even when it's a bit cooler outside. The food was good overall, and the menu is what you'd expect from Earls -- solid options with something for everyone. Unfortunately, the patio cleanliness took away from the experience. When we sat down, there was bird poop on my cutlery and water glass, which meant I had to ask the manager to replace them. After that, they brought out another glass that had bird poop on it. So, I also had to ask for the entire table setting to be refreshed so everyone had clean utensils and glasses. To make matters worse, there was bird poop on the couch cushion as well. I understand patios can be tricky with birds around, but it did feel like the table area should have been checked and cleaned before seating guests. Overall, it's still a nice patio, dog-friendly, and the food was good, but I'd recommend the staff do a more thorough check of the outdoor seating before guests are seated to avoid situations like this. The patio heaters and location are definitely nice perks, though.
