    Steak and prawns special
    Mary B.

Good food, casual atmosphere, quick and friendly service. Great selection of Canadian pub food from burgers and sandwiches to fish and chips, perogies, and salads. The Baron of Beef (beef dip) is one of the best I have had in a long time. Really good Caesar salad, just the right amount of dressing. Steak and prawns special was delicious too. They serve all day breakfasts and have happy hour specials. It's a busy place that can accommodate fairly large groups. Always a good choice when in Gibsons.

Went there for lunch. Covid protocol- the interior is big, you get to choose where you sit. Tables are nicely spaced. They have outdoor seating too. Our server was friendly, wore face mask & carry a personal hand sanitizer on her which I saw her sanitizing her hand before she hands the check to the customers in the next table. We ordered the clam chowder, French onion soup & Barron of beef dip to share. The food was ok, fries were nice & crispy, the beef dip was unfortunately tasteless, I had to season the dip with salt & pepper. French onion soup was a wee bit salty. Service was good, our servers kept checking on us to find what if everything was good.

Thank God this place was open and walkable from our dumpy motel ( Sunnycrest ) Anyways, day outside on the patio, much quiet. Shared the Garlic Prawns. Shared the BBQ Ribs. I had French Onion soup, partner had Clam Chowder. Everything was Excellent :) Good menu choices, good options, good portion, good value. Would come back for sure.

Halbut taco (hold the taco), was served on a healthy assortment of fresh veggies, and spiced up nicely. My only complaint was the guacamole, which was made with onions in it and I hate those. So I felt a little bunked out of one of my favourite condiments - however I was too hungry / loaded? to gripe. Mr B devoured the beef dip, and the salmon salads were well regarded by my antique dining companions, with leftovers to boot. Generous portions made for great breakfast next morning (except they weren't packed up with any sauces - just my yummy fishmeat and greens). I enjoyed my Persephone Golden Ale, love having local brews! Back next day, sadly the kalamari was mostly batter and not enough tzatziki, but the garlic prawns were a-ok, potatos skins were potato skinnish and they didn't skimp on the cheese, the burger was reportedly decent. After dinner we walked down, and all the way back up, School....

Great service, very friendly and prompt! The menu has a good variety of items; we tried their breakfast sandwich (breakfast items are served all day), chicken salsa crunch burger and potato skins appetizer. Everything was tasty, fresh and filling. If you pick a quieter area to sit in, you don't really notice the pub atmosphere. We would come here again!

I'm glad this pub reopened during Covid. It never disappoints. The service is awesome & the staff is super friendly.

There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by. They open till 12 midnight or 1 am. Nice sized parking lot in front and back of the building.

We were pleasantly impressed by the wonderful view from the patio overlooking Porpoise Bay. The service was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the fish and chips that we noticed other customers were enjoying as well as a glass of white wine. While waiting for our meal we enjoyed the lovely view of the mountains, bay and boats while sipping on our glass of wine. Everything was perfect! The meal arrived and it was beyond my expectations. I rarely order fish and chips and I would definitely order it again at the lighthouse pub. The fish was delicious and the fries were perfectly crispy. The portions were great for me and my big appetite. The price was reasonable for such a lovely meal and atmosphere. I look forward to going back to eat there again on my next visit.

The menu is quite large, lots of mains and handhelds to choose from. Our group ordered the salmon burger, beef burger, beef quesadilla and pasta carbonara. All was good and tasty. Especially loved the yam fries!! Our only complaint was the wait. It took a while to get our drinks, and also to order the food. For drinks I ordered a lavender coconut margarita, it was quite strong and a bit too salty. The others had different beers so no issues on that side. Overall a good place to have a relaxed meal.
