    Pankados
    Sarah P.

We love shift kitchen; every time I'm there I never have a bad experience. Our waitress was the only one working on bar and serving tables and she still killed it. We had the mojito and a lime margarita with an order of pankados to share. The inside looks completely different with the new decor but it's beautiful! Much needed touches and a nice new patio too. Always a good time at shift

I came here for an early dinner, 4+ pm and only a few tables were taken. But it sure got busy after 530 pm. So reservations are highly recommended if you are dining later in the day. The kitchen is also busy with people doing take out. I decided to get the spicy tuna roll, bourbon bbq wings and a Bellini. They were all good. I loved the wings! The bourbon bbq sauce gave a nice flavor. They were also halal chicken. The spicy tuna roll was unexpected. I didn't know it would be fried. It was still nice but not my favorite. I liked the mango salsa which came with it. The Bellini was also good. So refreshing on a hot day. Good service too.

I think seeing some of these flowers would really give this place outside sitting to eat in the sun.

Food flavours are better than tap 22, the service is very friendly but slow at times and Tapp 22 menu is 2x more expensive than their menu, ambiance is really funky and designed has a warm touch to it. Always book ahead and reserve ahead from afternoon to evening it gets very crowded.

Great food and service. We ordered several things including the spicy tuna roll, which tasted fresh and was tasty. A avocado roll which was good, and calamari which we devoured. Good prices and value. Definitely will stop there again when going through seschelt

A cozy spot with great ambiance. We were lucky to get in quickly on a Monday evening when a lot of restaurants in Sechelt are closed. I was pleased to see that the listing for the restaurant specified that they are LGBTQ+ friendly and specifically friendly to trans people. The staff warned us that they were running behind on food and there was a sign outside looking for kitchen staff. But drinks were quick. I had the Frazzled Prawns and it was delicious. A great combination of flavours. The kids had Mac & cheese and fries and were very happy. I would definitely return and might even do so before we finish our week on the Sunshine Coast.

Our visit to Sechelt before travel restrictions included a lunch at Shift Kitchen & Bar. A little small inside but on off hours it was pretty mellow and covid precautions were met. We ordered the Meatball appy $14 (a seasonal feature) and it was delicious! A juicy, meaty pork and veal meatball served on top of a crispy filone bread, drizzled with marinara and mozzarella cheese. Carbs and protein delight! We also shared a plate of Linguine Alfredo $16 House-made Alfredo sauce, bacon, chives, parsley, Asiago cheese on top of al dente pasta. Very creamy, rich and satisfying! Also, to add on the yumminess, the crispy garlic bread was one of the best I had! Garlic and butter and a perfect chewy, toasted baguette! Service was really friendly and the service was pretty quick. Their brunch is all day too! If you're in the downtown area of Sechelt, this is a yummy stop!

Funky hole-in-the-wall cafe/bistro. Good service. Great food, with a good vibe. Sit inside or outside and enjoy a great drink menu and creative food menu.

Settled for the Classic. Yup. And those hand-cut fries!

Surprisingly delighted by the creativity of the pankados (deep fried avocado with panko crust and spicy mayo) and the buns of that burger! Yum! I went for a late lunch so it wasn't too busy but it does get pretty busy during the weekend. They have daily specials and happy hour from 3-5 pm. Staff was so friendly! I would definitely return!

The food was a mixed bag, some dishes great, some not so much. The general consensus was the beer wasn't great. But I did enjoy my cocktail! The DJ/emcee for music trivia bingo was a lot of fun. You got to choose your Bingo card. He played songs spanning the decades, but you're also allowed to Shazam. He also walked around, looked at our sheets, and pointed out any songs we may have forgotten to stamp. People from our table one 3 out of 5 prizes given that night! THE DRINKS * Passion fruit fizz - 4.5 stars Lovely thick layer of egg white that gave the drink texture, sharp citrus flavor. Also, props to the staff as my partner ordered the wrong drink for me at first - they let me swap out that wrong order for this drink! * Coast Sour - 3 stars This drink was not for me - too strong, flavors not subtle at all. The beers generally weren't great; a lot of them lacked body and complexity. The best one was the IPA, the worst was the cream ale. THE FOOD * Bayou Bite - 4.5 stars The bun & slaw were good, and we liked the bbq sauce. The breading had a great crunch but we had 2 thinner slices which leads to less juicy chicken and too much breading. * Beer Battered Cod Batch Soft Tacos - 4 stars The fish tasted very fresh, with a nice balanced thin layer of breading and lots of toppings that worked well. Don't let it sit too long or it could get pretty soggy. * Nachos - 1-2 stars I didn't try this or get a photo, but my friend said this was pretty bad.

She helped him first (white middle aged man) instead of me, (black female). I ordered a sample of the IPA then she never came back again. Also used to be Goofy's pub, so I've been there before, half a lifetime ago. The building is big inside, and out. Post and beam design and quite nicely decorated inside. We were seated quickly, and appeared to just beat the rush, as a bunch of party's came in right after us. Our waters were quickly dropped by the young lady who sat us, and we were then handed off to our server. We sort of got lost in the shuffle, and sat for a bit before she came by. We ordered our beverages and food at the same time, which we typically do not do. Our food came out before our beverages which I am never a fan of. My Togarashi Orange bowl was a big portion, but I got none of the Togarashi nor orange in it. It had a hint of heat which was great. The mango had no taste at all. K's Beef dip was ok, but lacked real flavour and the au jus was just alright. We also felt the fries were a little sparse. If I was given the opportunity to give half marks it would be a 3.5, not a 4, but also definitely not a 3. We'd give it a go again when on Sechelt.

I rarely order fish and chips and I would definitely order it again at the lighthouse pub. The fish was delicious and the fries were perfectly crispy. The portions were great for me and my big appetite. The price was reasonable for such a lovely meal and atmosphere. I look forward to going back to eat there again on my next visit.

Six years later my wife and I decided to try again. Me: I was here years ago and I found the dish I ate too sweet. Is it possible to get my food without sugar? Sweet Waitress What was the dish? Me: I think it was Butter Chicken Sweet: There's no sugar in our Butter Chicken. It's made with tomato paste, ketchup... Me: (after she had finished listing ingredients.) Ketchup is almost pure sugar. I've been eating Indian cuisine for the large part of two centuries and in many cities on two continents. I cook northern and southern Indian dishes. I've taken classes, have several cookbooks and subscribe to the better you tube channels (I recommend Swasthi's.) Ketchup is not an ingredient in Indian food. I asked if there was ketchup in several other dishes and was basically told that the Korma was my best and only choice. There was ketchup even in the tandoori chicken. (There is an exception. There is a little chopped onion salad that is often made with either tomato chutney or ketchup.) Korma is a light sauce usually made with yoghurt and maybe a little cream. This was thickened with flour. So much flour that it reminded me of the time I tasted the paste in nursery school. The best word to describe it is "glop." To the many people who wrote rave reviews I beg you to take the ferry to the city and go to one of the many fabulous Indian restaurants there. Swad in West Vancouver is closest and the best. Vij's is amazing but very pricey. Sula and East is East are both terrific and you will pay the same as Saffron, maybe a tad less. My wife had the dahl. A lentil dish. It had a very strong flavour of...you guessed it---ketchup. We asked and, yes, it was, in fact, ketchup. The service was lovely. The naan bread was very good. Neither of them contained ketchup.
