This place is the spot for great brews, tasty food and stellar views. I'll definitely return. We stopped by here for afternoon beer and were happy to get some tacos n jalapeño poppers from the food truck parked on the lot. Delicious! I recommend the food from Luz Tacos...the fish and cauliflower tacos hit the spot. But the winner was the jalapeño poppers. We ordered two rounds of them. Anyway, on to the beer. Every beer I tasted was good, but my favorite was the lemon lavender nitro beer. I'm not surprised it won awards. It's smooth, zesty and light. I got a can to take home, which is without the nitro effect, and i found it tasted even better! The atmosphere is chill, open and comfortable. The views outside are wonderful...those mountains in the. background make ie even more worthwhile.

Flight of beers on the patio.

I came here with a friend to wait out traffic on the sea to sky highway heading back to Vancouver. It was our first time here. The location is not a far drive from the highway, but it is set back from a well known brewery, so probably not quite as obvious an option to non-locals. However, if you do venture here, you will be rewarded with a great mountain view. Service is super friendly and laid back. This is not a pretentious sort of place. There is a super cute patio and even a spot for a firepit where a larger group could sit around. The menu has lots of pale ales, but also a unique black lager and a cream ale. There is a taco truck parked outside the patio where you can order food, although, be warned, they are not exactly speedy. This brewery is my new go-to spot for grabbing a drink in Squamish. Highly recommended if you are looking for a chill vibe.

Squamish was a short pitstop on our drive but we're so happy that we stopped here for a quick, refreshing flight of beer. The actually brewery is done up nicely, with minimalist decor but wooden accents - very cool. With only 5 beers on tap, we initially thought there should be more since most breweries tend to have hundreds of options these days. But after trying them, we realized it's because they're damn good at what they do. We had the following: - OKANAGAN LAKE Cream Ale - SHUSWAP LAKE IPA - SPROAT LAKE Pale Ale - MAGIC LAKE Porter We had another IPA in there that was equally as delicious. What a treat on our quick drive in and around Squamish. So happy to have found this place!

I've never been in a brewery (and I've been in many) that smells so delicious. It's a little spot tucked back in town with indoor and outdoor seating. I had this flight and tried 1/2 of their beers/cider which were all good. The folks who worked there were nice and it seemed reasonably priced.

Tasting flight. Cream ale, Forrest sour, IPA, brown ale.

Great local brewery and a good variety of beer. I was happy there were only a couple IPA's and plenty of others to choose from. I had a tasting flight that included their cream ale, the Forrest sour, an IPA and a brown ale. The sour was incredible and I had to order more! Great job. I also appreciated the design and style, and the food truck attached to the outdoor patio. Also, that the TV wasn't on and pretty out of sight in the corner. I go to breweries to taste beers and have good conversations with friends! Thanks for facilitating that.

Great beer, awesome presentation. Nice big patio for sitting outside. I really enjoyed the Magic Lake Porter and the Framboise (not sure which lake it was named after). The others I tried were good too but those were my favourites. If you're in Squamish and want a quick beer (no food), go here.

One problem- get a mirror in the washroom! It rains constantly; I need to know if I have mascara running down my cheeks. This place is kind of like being in a cabin with Jenga and a tv. Best staff so far. They're real and funny. No food except the potato chips but they welcome outside food. Flights are served in cute little half logs. Great logo. Three IPAs, one cream ale, one stout and a Kolsch. David Bowie on the sound system.

The 5 stars are well deserved, people! Great selection of beer, cider, wine. Some board games; indoor and outdoor picnic benches, high tables, etc. Good space to spread out and relax for a while. Well done, A-Frame.

Found this gem this summer while doing a little vaca in Squamish. We literally spend every evening of our vacation here haha by the end we were friends with the staff. The beer was awesome I totally got addicted to the cream ale. Thank god they host food trucks because I didn't want to leave. The decor is so beautiful and the patio is awesome lots of sun and some views of the mountains. I cannot wait to go back!

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

We sampled five of their beers - Mountaineer Pilsner, Grapefruit Ale, Black Tusk Ale, Llemoncello, and Variable Conditions IPA. My favorites by far were the Pilsner and Llemoncello. Very drinkable and thirst quenching. Our food was an appetizer of Vegetable Samosas and I liked them a lot. Flaky crust, plenty of vegetables and potatoes, and just a hint of curry. We had quite a few pizzas in the dining room -vegetable, pepperoni, and a barbecue chicken and pineapple. I liked the vegetable and the BBQ chicken. Both had great flavor and a medium soft crust. We had a few GF and Celiac folks in our group and Whistler Brewery did an outstanding job accommodating them, so hat's off to their staff and kitchen.
