a flight of beers on a table

I've always loved their beer so I knew I wanted to visit when we took a trip to whistler and it did not disappoint! We got a flight so we could try some we weren't familiar with and our server was so helpful and very well educated on the beers and the brewery. We found some new favorites like the chestnut wheat ale. We sat on the patio and luckily they are dog friendly! The restaurant has more of a homey warehouse feel which is super cool. Love how it feels more of a local gem rather than touristy. We also ordered some appies and we really enjoyed them. How could you go wrong with potato skins though! They have a little market so you can pick up some cold beers to take home as well. Overall highly recommend stopping by. We will definitely be back next time we are in whistler.

Great ambience, beer and bites! Stopped in for a snack and a beverage after a morning biking. The server was super friendly and helped us select a flight of beer. We ordered nachos with guacamole to share and sat on the back patio. Loved all the pups that came in with their humans! A great location to grab a brew.

I love visiting spots off the beaten paths. This is a great spot with a super chill vibe you would get from an old school skiing town (obviously not Whistler anymore). Our server was really great and helpful. Our food was amazing and super fresh. I can't wait to go back.

Came here with my fiancé for a couple of drinks & this was definitely a 5 star experience ! Huges (sorry if we spelled your name wrong !) was awesome ! He is super personable and so funny !We had such a good time and had some great beer recommendations for us ! The flight was a good selection - highly recommend trying the purple beer butterfly flower lager ! P.S he handled the entire packed place himself ! Incredible service !

Overall it's a fun place for aprés ski, especially if you're getting out of Whistler for wherever your night accommodations are, but I wouldn't say it knocked my socks off or anything. The beer was a bit limited with only 1-2 IPAs on the menu. I did appreciate the waitress making a point to tell us to get a pitcher as it was happy hour over spending on 4 beers between 2 people. The nachos were good, maybe not for the price point, but again good in an aprés ski kind of way. I would go back but would level set my expectations as it feels more like a bar than a true brewery.

If I could award 10 stars to Whistler Brewing Co., I would! We were really looking forward to our visit to Whistler Brewing Co., due to the high rating on Yelp, the glowing recommendations of the bar staff at the Firerock Lounge and due to our experiences with their brews that we had already sampled during our stay to date in Whistler. Seems like every bar and restaurant in Whistlers serves at least several of their brews! We arrived late one afternoon about 5:00 pm and the place was rockin'! They had a DJ "spinning" tunes. So the place is a bit raucous - in a good way. We each ordered an entire flight of brews and then went to sit in the area right by the entrance. Anna - the extremely cool assistant manager of Whistler Brewing Co., brought out our flights and explained them to us. We sampled in the following order: Powder Mountain Lager (American Pale Lager) (5.0% ABV) Bear Paw Honey Lager (American Adjunct Lager) (5.0% ABV) Whiskey Jack Ale (English Pale Ale) (5.0% ABV) Black Tusk Ale (English Dark Mild Ale) (5.0% ABV) Valley Trail Chestnut Ale (5.0% ABV) Grapefruit Ale (5.0% ABV) Big Sky Honey Lager (5.0% ABV) Lost Lake IPA (6.8% ABV) Cheakamus Chai-Maple Ale (5.0% ABV) I'm not typically a fan of lagers - but the Powder Mountain Lager and the Bear Paw Honey Lager were really good - I was surprised at how much I liked both of these. My top three faves of the day were: - Black Tusk Ale: it's almost like a Cascadian Dark Ale - but not quite. There were definitely some coffee and chocolate nuances present in this Ale. Very good. - Grapefruit Ale: Their web site cites: "dried grapefruit rind along with Sterling and Willamette hops" as the primary ingredients. And WOW does it ever deliver. The result is an astonishingly refreshing grapefruit aromatic with a crisp citrus finish. I almost cheered the first time I drank some of this over at the Firerock Lounge - it's that good! - Lost Lake IPA: An outstanding IPA! Hoppy, Citrusy, Piney, crisp, bitter finish! Amazing! The only brew I tasted that I did not enjoy was the Cheakamus Chai-Maple Ale. Was to cloyingly sweet for my taste. Anna was an awesome host. She came by several times to check on us, chat for a bit, and retrieve empty glassware. Anna has some amazing plant-based tattoos and she has a gorgeous Swedish accent. We very much enjoyed chatting with her. Check out Whistler Brewing Co., you won't be disappointed!

I came here several years ago and didn't love it but this time it blew me away!!!! I had the beef dip and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. They've stepped up their food game!!! I had a flight too since why not and the chestnut beer was amazing. I was not expecting to like it but it was delicious. I also really enjoyed the milk chocolate stout!!!!

The beers and food are alright. The service is good. We had the $10 lunch special - the chicken pot pie. The pie was ok, the coleslaw that came with it was ok as well. Compared with other microbreweries, their beers are less memorable to us. Not much else to say...

At the end of October when I went, they're only open Friday and Saturday afternoons. Our experience there was super chill. We rang the door and someone let us in. I forgot his name, but he was one of the brothers behind the operation. He then introduced us to their liquors and we picked which ones we wanted to try. We tried a variety of liquors, including their vodka, ginger and honey, coffee, scotch, apple brandy, and kartoffelschnaps. Our favorite was the vodka, as it's one of the smoothest vodka's I've ever tried. The coffee liquor was also very good if you're a coffee drinker, but I personally am not a huge fan of the coffee taste. We bought a bottle of the vodka, scotch, and ginger and honey liquor away with us. Prices were reasonable. For example, a 750 ml bottle of vodka was $35. You can also take a couple steps into their distillery space. We went in to take a look and also was given a high level introduction to their distilling process.

The distillery tour is well worth the $6 as you get a personal view of where all the potato magic happens. Tyler and Lorien are gracious hosts and are full of boozy knowledge. Oh, and of course there's a healthy sized tasting post-tour at the bar with your very own Schramm's glass. The word on the Pemberton street is that Tyler is concocting a small batch of Organic Single Malt Whisky this summer. But unfortunately, we will have to wait a few more years to sample this barrel of local gold. Damn you Oak Casks!

This review is done under - Whistler - but encompasses the drive up, the beautiful scenery, the mountains & forest that are all part of an amazing nature built province ('State' - for all those in Merica) of BC. And no, BC does not belong to Britain but to Canada. Don't laugh I've been asked this question before! I won't get into the whole Commonwealth technicality but yes if one is leaning towards that angle I guess you could say - the Queen does own the whole of Canada as we pay mega bucks as in millions each year to the UK - to be part of the British Empire! Oh how lucky we are!? So Harry & Megan got tired of this British royalty life & escaped to a quieter environment in ... Hollywood!?? Ok then!!! The big draw to Whistler is in the winter - skiing & snowboarding. The Blackcomb & Whistler mountains are world wide renowned & super popular! Hiking & mountain biking takeover in the summer. Whistler is mighty expensive so bring all 5 of your credit cards! There are a few good restaurants as well but please make reservations ahead of time or you'll be left hopping around to find whatever's available. Of note & in no particular order but worth trying, Oso Bar (Spanish) - make reservations this spot is fire (thank you manager for the complimentary dessert), Lucia Gelato (try the Ginger flavour), Fat Tony's Pizza (open till 3am so could be a real life saver), El Funiture Warehouse aka All Food @ $5.95 Everyday - that's like $3 bucks US right!?! Avalanche Pizza, Splitz Grill (can be pricey but it's the burger you design so blame yourself for the hunger causing your mind to go crazy with so many toppings) & finally tacos at La Cantina. There's a few more spots including fine dining but that will be for an update after covid-19 ends. I'm real hesitant to go inside & prefer to stick to patio dining for now, as much as I can. The Whistler Village area is real easy to walk around in & you'll only need to drive if you have to go further up the mountain. I have been coming to Whistler since the early 90s & have stayed in many hotels & condo rentals. Definitely shop around & prebook your stay before coming up here. However, today's trip was just a day trip escape from the big city & was thoroughly enjoyed. The drive from Vancouver takes 90 minutes or less depending on how fast you drive - longer if you stop along the way & or make a pit stop in Squamish, a beautiful town & worth the stop - see my Squamish review. Whoa got the shock of my life while walking about! Five years ago on a cruise in the Caribbean, our group met the super charismatic, charming, & so awesome Cruise Director (entertainment) Matt! Check him out on Instagram @ mattcruisedirector. Merica many of you might be very familer with him from the Carnival Cruise Line!!! Couldn't believe he's now living here - currently on the Sunshine Coast of BC but will be relocating to Vancouver. It was a pleasure to run into him & his wife! I had vivid fond cruise flashback memories while chatting with him. That awesome cruise back in 2015 on Carnival Breeze was phenomenal!!!!! It was a total awesome riot! I discovered my island paradise - Curaçao! Side note - Vancouver & Whistler hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics! I can tell you from first hand experience with actually being involved in the Olympics as a volunteer - it was so spectacular an event!!!!! Vancouverites today still speak highly of it! Super natural Whistler is highly recommended if you've never been - so do check it out! Come experience Whistler & be wowed!!! It feels not so much a question of if, but when, you'll finally be consumed by them. And then, often by accident, life takes an unexpected turn and you are provided an opportunity to choose to push the eject button (that's been right in front of longer than you realized) and propel yourself into what feels like an alternative universe. A place that allows you to unplug from the breakneck pace of today's society, take a deep breath, and finally linger in the bliss of just being present. No chirping cell phones, no calendar reminders, no bills to receive, no health concerns to ponder, and no need to make plans for the future. An all too brief respite from what emotionally entangles you and seeks to rob you of your peace and your purpose. Without planning it, we fell into such a rabbit hole while floating down the River of Golden Dreams (its actual name). A little rowing (and a lot of just floating) later, we arrived at Green Lake and just allowed the wind to help us drift across glacial waters so green we felt like they can be seen from outer space. We dipped our hands into that water, splashed it around a bit, and pondered just how much time and attention it voluntarily sacrifices to the stresses of today. It whispered its response back to us, "None." So what to do if Green Lake doesn't happen to be in your backyard, and yet an escape is exactly what you need right about now? Good question! We're on this journey right alongside of you, so while we're pursuing our "Green Lake escape", we wish you good fortune in discovering yours! During our off-road buggy tour those days came flooding back to me as there were many times that we found ourselves eating the dirt of those riding with us (which didn't subtract from our enjoyment of freely roaming the Canadian wilderness even a little bit). I couldn't keep myself from loudly expressing my excitement just like a kid enjoying a roller coaster for the first time. I think Dana may have laughed the entirety of the ride and for the longest time I kept thinking to myself, "Wow, I am unusually funny today because she just can't seem to stop laughing. I should probably write this material down!" (It took me longer than I'd care to admit, but I eventually realized that Dana was laughing because she was having so much fun off-roading and not because my comedic material was all that good. ) Joan served as our jovial tour guide and did a great job with the safety orientation before we left, provided excellent instruction about how to safely navigate each section of the course, and timed our river crossing perfectly for the end of our ride (since we happily got drenched!). The course itself was always engaging, provided some spectacular vantage points, and included a great variation of sections to test your technical skills and also give you an opportunity to open up that throttle (at times exceeding speeds of 60 kph). If this were a hiking trail I'd rate it as moderate in difficulty, so be aware you will be jostled around quite a bit and you will likely feel just a tad sore the next day as you're describing your adventure to others with a smile that you're unable to wipe off your face. While the course presents a worthy challenge, the buggies they provide are well suited for the task (and an excellent helmet and goggles are provided to all adventurers).
