We stopped after visiting the Mountain Gallery who recommended this restaurant. My wife ordered the pulled pork and I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken . Both were delicious but especially the Rotisserie Chicken. A great place to take kids as the prices are reasonable for the area. Very clean and neat inside. The food also comes out really fast. We ordered a combination of the chicken and waffles, the turkey BLT, the quarter chicken and the pulled brisket sandwich. I'd rather them get shit. They were saying their mac & cheese is quite famous, but I didn't think it was anything impressive, and the green onions were really not doing anything on top of it. It was nice. They had breadcrumbs for a textural change, but I don't think the cheese tasted like anything. The quartered chicken was actually really delicious and very moist, it came with a pickle, a barbecue gravy, which I did not eat. And the biscuit that was really good with the honey over by the concessions. I probably wouldn't stop here again for lunch, but it was a nice on the way and the prices were reasonable. read more

The porchetta sandwich is a MUST get whenever you're in whistler. This is located outside the fairmont hotel. There is no free parking so my suggestion is to have someone go order it and the driver to circle around and order for take out. The bread was so good! It is what a baguette should taste like! The crust was nice and crispy and the inside was soft and pillowy. The pork was crispy, not dry nor was it overly salty. The aioli added a nice creamy flavor to it as well. I also got the poutine which was a tad different from your normal Canadian poutine as it was smashed baby potatoes. It was a huge portion and it was also delicious! Calm atmosphere compared to many of the other restaurants we were considering. The meats and sides were all visible as we walked up to order - the brisket looked tasty! We ended up ordering the porchetta and roast veggies and jalepeno cornbread to split because of the price. We found a seat and put up the number we received at the register. The food was out within 5 minutes and was plenty for the two of us. The interior pork loin of the porchetta was dry, so it was sauced with the ok original sauce. The pork belly was nice and juicy with a crispy exterior. The vegetables were cooked well but a bit too oily. We had celery root for the first time! The cornbread and honey butter were a nice sweet touch. Overall good experience as we watched the Seahawks game! There's one tv for viewing. read more

I really hate to write this but I was incredibly disappointed. I looked up top places to get a hot chocolate and this place was on the top of the list. It's a cozy atmosphere with a fast casual vibe. The staff were friendly and incredibly quick to bring out our order. I got a Belgian hot chocolate, which tasted really watered down. My fiance got the maple flavored hot chocolate. Both were cold... also we asked for it to be for "here" vs "to go" and got it in to go cups (not a big deal). Not the biggest deal, but was really wanting a cozy warm mug to hold. We ate here twice during our visit to Whistler and hands down, the food is spot on! We had watched some videos on Whistler prior to our trip and Portobello was mentioned in all of them as a must stop. I agree. We had the poutine with mushrooms and onions and the Rosemary gravy. One thing to note, I have always had poutine on fries, but here they use deliciously baked red potatoes. At first my wife preferred fries, but I mentioned I liked the potatoes because I could determine the ratio of potato to gravy, etc. By the end, she agreed. We also had the Perfectly Perfect Porchetta sandwich. I don't know what to say about this because the name says it all. It is a perfect sandwich. The pork is seasoned perfectly and they have their own pork rinds and a sauce. The bread is fresh made and...well, like the name says, it's perfect. The people that prepare your food to the people at the register and those who help clean up are all courteous and attentive. This is a lively place during meal times so it can get busy, but it is worth the wait! My only reason for a missed star was they make the food and do not always wear gloves. To me, I prefer you wear gloves during food handling, especially when I can see you. Think of the number of times a day we touch our face without even knowing we do. read more

This is a an interesting place in the restaurant landscape of Whistler Blackcomb. Located adjacent (part of) the Fairmont Hotel in Blackcomb, this is a more casual offering. We walked in through a gift shop (okay, unusual) then there is a counter where we ordered. Food ordered first, then realized we needed drinks, too. Second order placed for drinks. We sat in the seats facing the promenade, big fat flakes falling. Our food started to arrive. These were homey and warming foods. Cornbread, pork belly, roast vegetables, and a quarter chicken. The food was good, for some reason it just seemed a little off. Maybe it was the food being ordered first then delivered? The restaurant was largely empty, so that felt off for Whistler. This place was recommended to us by someone we rode the gondola with, it was a good recommendation, but I think we need to return and try it again to be sure. read more

We had such good food here. The service was excellent and people were very friendly. The outdoor dinning area was fantastic and spacious. Even for a hot day, there was a lot of shade on one side of the deck. The food was the highlight. It was so so yummy. The rotisserie chicken was juicy. We liked the beef brisket that was so juicy and tender. The corn bread was okay. The vegetables were good too. They had pretty large portions. Everything was really tasty and fairly priced. For Whistler, it was pretty affordable for the amount of food we got. We loved coming here and definitely look forward to coming back here again. read more

We dream and salivate about the maple bacon donut at Portobello. They bring them out at 9am daily. We look forward to visiting Whistler because of these donuts. Amazing cafe where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open until late. They also have daily specials. We took cuban sandwich and poutine. Both were very delisious. It's a nice meal after working out whole day. The portions are very generous, me and my husband we shared it otherwise it would be too much. This food kept us full whole day. Also I highly recommend to try their Belgium hot chocolate it's pretty good! They have very cozy outdoor patio with fire-pits and plenty of space inside, with tvs and bar. read more

Portobello at Fairmont Chateau Whistler is large, spacious & very welcoming. The wood decor is typical Whistler & there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It speaks opulence & luxury in a very well laid out surrounding - a woodsy massive cabin type feel. Portobello completed a massive renovation in 2017. Makes me ask myself why I didn't eat here sooner!?! I haven't stayed at this Fairmont yet, but hopefully sometime in the near future. It's a gorgeous hotel with a cosy welcoming lobby made all the more spectacular with this excellent restaurant. The menu here at Portobello is great, so choose accordingly to how loud your stomach is grumbling. From made to order sandwiches, to a soulfood Mac N' Cheese, smoked brisket & pulled pork or rotisserie chicken, beautiful pastries, tasty salads to delicious soups - you can't go wrong eating here. Not trying to be overly negative and picky but I was not overly impressed by this place. Found their service incredibly slow to say the least, for food that was perhaps average in quality and overpriced. One of my personal pet peeves is around cleanliness, so despite their main dining room being well kept, be warned that their men's bathroom has an overwhelming smell of sewage, that was very off putting to say the least. Cannot understand how this remotely meets the typical standards for any Fairmont property. Unlikely to return, nor do I recommend. read more

What a stroke of luck. We found this neighborhood gem on way back to airport. From now on we'll make Portobello a destination when visiting BC. The restaurant is intimate and warm - a true family affair from the hostess to the chef. We had a Burrata so fresh I could hear the cows singing. The house made bread was light and airy and perfect for dipping. Neither of us could decide which was better / the Vitello Marsala or the Spaghetti Carbonara. Suffice it to say they were both exquisite. We finished up with Tiramisu which was equal parts light and rich. What a great find in Burnaby! read more

Absolutely love this place! The first time we came here was a couple years ago for a gf's bachelorette. We didn't want to go to a super fancy place or pay an exorbitant prices for minimal amount of food. It was almost closing time but they were still willing to accommodate us AND the chef's generously gave us extra portions when we couldn't decide which entrée to get. This time we came for lunch and ordered a Chai Latte, Porchetta sandwich, ultimate smokehouse and 2 donuts. - Chai latte - nothing too special, I think they use the premixed chai and I have been too spoiled by the East is East freshly brewed chai - Porchetta on baguette with chimichurri - juicy pieces of pork with perfect crackling pork skin in a fresh baguette. I also tried this the next day with the herb bread and preferred it cause it was easier to keep the meat in the sandwich with each bite. - Ultimate smokehouse sandwich on herb bread is a mix of pulled beef and pulled pork, crispy bacon, pepper jack cheese, banana peppers, BBQ mayo. Incredibly flavourful, cheesy and meaty sandwich. Not sure if the herb bread is made in house but it sure tasted like it! - Maple bacon donut and creme brulee - both of them were custard filled and heavy so they're definitely not one to each right after a meal, maybe better after a solid hike. read more

Ordering meals to go here takes a bit more work than normal because they don't take orders over the phone - just via their website which is confusing when adding more than 1 item and also requires more than average credit card information in order to place an order ... but once it is inputted and ordered...we gold. The food here, from the coffee and maple bacon donut (had a good amount of creme filling and just the right texture and sweetness) to the porchetta and bbq chicken sandwiches (these are just on the lunch menu which is good til 4pm) is very good. The bbq chicken sandwich was cold and the least favorite of all we had but still hearty and the broiche bread was very good. The star for me was the porchetta sandwich.. it was amazing. Cracklings, tender pork, well flavored, yummy aoili and crispy bread... it was very filling and so so delicious. I already know this is going to become a staple to order in the future for sure, especially for the drive home or a snack after a day on the slopes!! read more
