    Portobello salad with chicken
    Natalie J.

Lunch here was pretty filling and tasty. We tried three things the poutine with pork, portobello salad with rotiserrie chicken, and 4 cheese grilled cheese total came out to like $62 Canadian dollars. I think the poutine was our favorite followed by the salad, we didn't love the grilled cheese. This a large place with lots of seating options.

Calm atmosphere compared to many of the other restaurants we were considering. The meats and sides were all visible as we walked up to order - the brisket looked tasty! We ended up ordering the porchetta and roast veggies and jalepeno cornbread to split because of the price. We found a seat and put up the number we received at the register. The food was out within 5 minutes and was plenty for the two of us. The interior pork loin of the porchetta was dry, so it was sauced with the ok original sauce. The pork belly was nice and juicy with a crispy exterior. The vegetables were cooked well but a bit too oily. We had celery root for the first time! The cornbread and honey butter were a nice sweet touch. Overall good experience as we watched the Seahawks game! There's one tv for viewing.

The porchetta sandwich is a MUST get whenever you're in whistler. This is located outside the fairmont hotel. There is no free parking so my suggestion is to have someone go order it and the driver to circle around and order for take out. The bread was so good! It is what a baguette should taste like! The crust was nice and crispy and the inside was soft and pillowy. The pork was crispy, not dry nor was it overly salty. The aioli added a nice creamy flavor to it as well. I also got the poutine which was a tad different from your normal Canadian poutine as it was smashed baby potatoes. It was a huge portion and it was also delicious! It was definitely a nice side to have with your sandwich.

Before our hike we stopped by Portobello. It was delicious and so many options! We struggled with parking since everything was valet and paid parking. Instead we had drivers stay in the car. The breakfast burrito was amazing! It's so large. My issue with this restaurant is I came back for lunch since breakfast was so good but 1 friend's chicken was so dry and other seasoning issues happened with other dishes

Amazing pastries that were not as expensive as I expected them to be since this bakery is in the Fairmont Hotel. The hotel is elegant and the pastries are just an extension of the ambiance of the hotel; decadent and upscale.

This is like the best restaurant it has such a cozy vibe to it and the avocado toast is my favorite. I do recommend!

I went to Portobello in the morning for a coffee and a chocolate scone, and both were excellent, however, not all that different from coffee and scones at other places. I'd love to go back to Portobello for a lunch or dinner. With plenty of seats inside and outside, it looks like a great setting for a meal together with other people.

Nice cafe with plenty of seating! Everything was delicious!! We had the creme brulee donut, custard filled dossaint, the chicken pot pie, braised short rib chili, and roasted orchestra ciabatta! Update: we really enjoyed the food so had to come back the next day for breakfast!

We ate here twice during our visit to Whistler and hands down, the food is spot on! We had watched some videos on Whistler prior to our trip and Portobello was mentioned in all of them as a must stop. I agree. We had the poutine with mushrooms and onions and the Rosemary gravy. One thing to note, I have always had poutine on fries, but here they use deliciously baked red potatoes. At first my wife preferred fries, but I mentioned I liked the potatoes because I could determine the ratio of potato to gravy, etc. By the end, she agreed. We also had the Perfectly Perfect Porchetta sandwich. I don't know what to say about this because the name says it all. It is a perfect sandwich. The pork is seasoned perfectly and they have their own pork rinds and a sauce. The bread is fresh made and...well, like the name says, it's perfect. The people that prepare your food to the people at the register and those who help clean up are all courteous and attentive. This is a lively place during meal times so it can get busy, but it is worth the wait! My only reason for a missed star was they make the food and do not always wear gloves. To me, I prefer you wear gloves during food handling, especially when I can see you. Think of the number of times a day we touch our face without even knowing we do.

We dream and salivate about the maple bacon donut at Portobello. They bring them out at 9am daily. We look forward to visiting Whistler because of these donuts. I think it is the best donut I have ever had. Yum! We also had a good turkey sandwich and fresh salad. The lunch was so good. Portobello is a must visit for donuts and lunch.

Recently had lunch here, one of our go-tos when we're looking for a leisurely meal with much better quality than what you'll get at Rendezvous or Roundhouse lodges. It's cafeteria style and the line doesn't move very quick, so for lunch expect a significant wait, but the food is great. Breakfast and dinner are shorter waits. Great lodge-like vibe, separate area for coffee and a bar but you can pay for everything together.

Back again and again this place rocks for good good food, great Fairmont service all without the craziness of the mountain lodges, always worth the 20' ski down. Now with the new gondolas getting up is a snap

Amazing cafe where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open until late. They also have daily specials. We took cuban sandwich and poutine. Both were very delisious. It's a nice meal after working out whole day. The portions are very generous, me and my husband we shared it otherwise it would be too much. This food kept us full whole day. Also I highly recommend to try their Belgium hot chocolate it's pretty good! They have very cozy outdoor patio with fire-pits and plenty of space inside, with tvs and bar.

First, there's plenty of seating. You come in, get a menu, seat yourself, and when you're ready, order at the counter. They will bring your food to you. We got a table outside in the sun. We ordered the Grants Platter for Two and shared it between three hungry adults and we still had a lot of leftovers (which were super tasty later)! My favorites from this platter were the brisket (so tender and just the right amount of smokiness) and the chicken wings with dry rub (fried to crispy perfection). The ribs and pulled pork were also really good, but since I prefer my barbecue without sauce, these didn't appeal to me as much as the brisket. I also liked the fresh and tasty mixed greens salad that we got as one of our sides--very balanced and delicious. The staff are super friendly here. Our waiter checked on us several times and even the chef came out to see if we liked the food. It was a wonderful lunch. If you're looking for a great meal in Whistler, definitely check out Hunter Gather!

We'd definitely come back again the next time we were in Whistler. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating.

All that's really being done is the chef is grilling your food - that's it. So if your food sucks, it's your fault. You will be given a silver bowl to load up with your choice of meat & veggies etcetera. You're server can explain all this to you if it's your first time here. Keep in mind current pricing today - $28 for up to one pound of food. One member of our group was real hungry & went slightly over one pound & that bill came to $67! To be honest, there's nothing wrong with that, so long as you're completely satisfied with what you ordered. The shrimp, microscopic scallops, noodles & everything else I mixed into my bowl, made it all delicious. I was extremely satisfied. I have been here in the past & recall not being so happy about my food. That was probably my fault & I wasn't thinking when I picked my options. I tend to normally stick to one type of meat & cannot handle mixing up beef, chicken & every other available meat. The beef today was excellent. Blended in nicely with my shrimp & scallops. Hot Tip Alert - I recommend eating here then going over to Bar Oso for dessert. Get the Basque Cheesecake. #yummy The cocktails are splendid as well. Cheers.

We couldn't find our server for the rest of the night so we ordered from other random servers. We ordered a few buckets of beer and two poutine's. We did order the regular truffle fries and they were much better! We also did a round of green tea and tequila shots, all shots were $12.
