I had the best vegan falafel wrap I've had in my life. The falafel was so good, soft, the wrap was huge, and the greens on the side were also delicious. The potatoes were good too. Fast service, friendly staff and good prices. Thanks for the great vegan options! read more

Visiting whistler and found this restaurant on google. It was the Granfondo weekend so the restaurant was very busy. This restaurant has a country restaurant vibe with all the wood decor. They also offer beer on tap. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and Hunter's chicken. All the potatoes items were made from local potatoes. We liked the hunter's chicken. the meat of the chicken breast was juicy and the mushroom sauce was flavorful. The mashed potatoes at the bottom was buttery and tastes great with the mushroom sauce The pulled pork sandwich flavor was good. However the pork was a bit dry even with bbq sauce Overall, recommended if in the area. Worth a visit read more

The food looked good and the service was very friendly in this restaurant, but unfortunately what I had was kinda mediocre. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was dry and overcooked in the batter was thick and not that crisp. The crisp potatoes were a bright spot, but could've used to some salt. It did come with a nice coleslaw, but there wasn't very much of it. I also ordered a side of wilted kale, which was pretty flavorless and needed salt and some garlic would've been nice. The poutine was also just OK with the same crispy potatoes with a gravy and cheese curds but the cheese curds were kind of cold, which didn't mix well with the hot gravy and potatoes. My friends had the chicken Shawarma and seemed to enjoy it and the burgers looked good from other tables. Kind of disappointing unfortunately. read more

Menu is varied and good. Felt like bbq so I ordered baby backs which came with coleslaw ( no taste at all), pemberton potatoes ( very good). Ribs tender but lacking in flavor and a bit fatty. Pulled pork sandwich very good. Bowls looked excellent. I'd return but pass on the ribs for sure. read more

One of my former staffers now lives and works in Whistler and when we came up to visit her, she recommended we meet at Hunter Gather. So glad she did because this place is awesome! First, there's plenty of seating. You come in, get a menu, seat yourself, and when you're ready, order at the counter. They will bring your food to you. We got a table outside in the sun. We ordered the Grants Platter for Two and shared it between three hungry adults and we still had a lot of leftovers (which were super tasty later)! My favorites from this platter were the brisket (so tender and just the right amount of smokiness) and the chicken wings with dry rub (fried to crispy perfection). The ribs and pulled pork were also really good, but since I prefer my barbecue without sauce, these didn't appeal to me as much as the brisket. I also liked the fresh and tasty mixed greens salad that we got as one of our sides--very balanced and delicious. The staff are super friendly here. Our waiter checked on us several times and even the chef came out to see if we liked the food. It was a wonderful lunch. If you're looking for a great meal in Whistler, definitely check out Hunter Gather! read more

We were visiting a friend at Whistler and she suggested Hunter Gather. It was a great choice. We got the Grants Platter for two - which was more than enough for the three of us plus leftovers. All of us thought the brisket was as good as any we've ever had. Their fried wings were incredibly savory. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. I also enjoyed the cornbread and the mixed greens. The staff was friendly and the chef chatted with us too. We'd definitely come back again the next time we were in Whistler. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating. read more

I definitely knew I wanted to check out Hunter & Gather during my time in Whistler for the weekend! This place had so much seating we were seated very quickly walking in! We were greeted with smiles, and the manager let us know that everything was made in house including the bread! The staff were all so kind, frequently checking in on us to see if everything was okay! For the food we decided to go with the Classic Breakfast which was delicious and everything was cooked to perfection! We also tried the Maple Waffles which were great and had some delicious whip cream on it. The perfect place to go to with affordable pricing if you are staying in the Village or visiting Whistler! 8.5/10 recommend! read more

We had brunch at this local eatery and tap house. Upon arrival, grab a menu, choose a seat, order and pay at the counter and your order will be brought to your table. It's very spacious inside and ideal for big groups. I was impressed by the service. The manager came by a few times to check on us and the chef even came by to say hi and clear our plates. Chicken & waffles: this is their signature dish and it's Instagram-worthy. The dish is dripping with hollandaise sauce and the chicken is nice and crispy. To make it healthier, it comes with a side of fruit. Breakfast bowl: this bowl tasted very healthy but was also delicious. I really liked the thick slices of mushroom. The creamy richness and chewiness of the halloumi paired well with the veggies. read more

Ambiance- really enjoyed the space, spacious, chill. Dog friendly (in the patio) Service- order at the counter and food gets delivered to your table. The servers were all really nice and helpful. Food- Pemberton Salad - was delicious! Grant platter for two + 2 sides - volume was equivalent to its value CAD $82. Quality of bbq- mediocre. Brisket was good. I really enjoyed the beans and sides. Fried chicken 3 stars. The ribs and pulled pork were not my style. Drinks- appreciate the variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic. read more

Hunter Gather - Fish and chips, their home made ketchup YUM - Barbeque Near Me - Whistler, British Columbia

Shrinkflation has hit this place hard. Food was good but portions were small. The photo attached is a full order of wings. People are friendly and service is quick. Ample seating and the location in Whistler is wonderful, so no complaints there. I wish they either had half portions or said the number of wings you would get. 1lbs of wings for $21 + tax and tip is like $3.50 a wing. read more

A tasty counter order place for a busy night in Whistler. We dropped in at prime time on Saturday and were able to get seated right away. Order at the counter and they bring food to you. O to the M to the G What is not to love ? The warm olives, the soups, Sammie's that will make a man want to marry the chef. The craft beers, the cool staff, great service and casual vibe make this place shine. Came in with a group of 8 about 7:30 PM. There was a wait for seating at a table. So we went ahead and opted for the bar seating. You can grab a menu and the order at the counter when ready. There are quite a few options and things to share. This is definitely a meat forward option. I tried the spicy chicken sandwich. It was yummy and a bit sloppy but what can you expect. They packed the sandwich. For my side I got the potatoes. They were super salty and came with a sweet sauce. I'm not sure about these I would have skipped. My friend had the soup of the day and said it was good. Heavy portions which is great after a ski day. read more

I went to Hunter Gather during their happy hour 3-5pm (daily I believe) and it was 20% off their menu with some special pricing on alcohol. I got the beef burger and it was so delicious. Love the selection of beers and great customer service. Staff js very nice. Very much enjoy the happy hour that has a hard electronic cutoff at 5pm. Smashed potato is a standout - think Big Foot type of fries. Everything tastes as it should... and what you would expect of a BBQ / bastropub. Tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, and Babyback ribs. All were great! The BackCountry Pale Ale was a wonderful complement to our food. Portions very filling and had to get a box! read more

Hit up Hunter Gather in Whistler and ordered the fried chicken sandwich with a side of beef brisket & holy smoke, that brisket was absolutely amazing, so tender it basically surrendered on contact. If you want a healthy, quick, and delicious meal in a low key setting in Whistler, Hunter Gather is the perfect spot! I got a chicken shawarma, along with a side salad. We visited for dinner with our family of 5 and were able to find quick seating available. They have a kids menu and high chairs available. The fried chicken is perfectly flavored and HUGE. We also tried the gyro wrap and loved the spices and sauces. Overall, would definitely recommend for an option in Whistler that isn't right in the village area. We wanted dinner but didn't want to walk very far from our Airbnb and Hunter Gather was right across the street. Score! No wait to get seated. It's a walk up (after you've been seated). We chose the pemberton bowl, brisket sandwich with the soup of the day (ginger carrot) and some drinks. The salad came out first - I loved all the components and dressing but wished the pemberton potatoes were served warm, not cold. The brisket meat melted in your mouth and the carrot ginger soup was a really nice flavor profile, surprise for us as we haven't had that soup before. Staff was quick and bussed tables after eating. Super lovely vibe, hockey was on, lots of jubilant conversations! read more

Hunter Gather exceeded our expectations! We came on a Wednesday morning for late breakfast and found a seat outside on the patio. Ordered at the counter, and our food was out almost right away! This place was an absolute treat for my taste buds. Their smoked salmon and Chinook salmon are, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. The smoked salmon was perfectly balanced, with a rich, smoky flavor that didn't overpower the delicate, buttery texture of the fish. Each bite melted in my mouth, delivering that perfect blend of savory and subtle sweetness that only expertly smoked salmon can achieve. The Chinook salmon was equally outstanding! Cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the fish really shone through. Paired with their rustic sides, a beer and a really nice outdoor patio with mountain vibes, this was a meal I won't soon forget. Hunter Gather is a must-visit in Whistler, offering a truly exceptional experience that highlights the best of local ingredients. Best of all, they are dog friendly! read more

We tried the Brisket, the Shawarma, the Pemberton Bowl and the Fried Chicken. The Brisket was probably the best I've had, fall apart tender. The service was top notch, everybody was very helpful and friendly! read more

Love coming here. Food is always been great. This time had the beef brisket. Flavourful and very easy to eat lean beef. It is a little dry, so suggest paring with salad or soup (cones with meal). We went for breakfast since there was not a wait and we needed to get going to head out of town. As a gluten-free person, it was really limited since I cannot have cross-contaminated food. They did not have alternatives for the potatoes or toast so all I could eat was eggs and bacon and ham and fruit. If you are GF, I would eat elsewhere. The eggs and meat were very good though. Since it is Oct, the fruit was out of season and subpar. My hubby had the potato croquette and said it was neither here nor there. Not mashed potato inside but not like other potato things- just weird and not even flavorful. Very clean inside, including bathrooms Staff very nice in helping understanding food for allergies. Probably best to just skip it though based on food read more

Great little spot in Whistler Village. It's a bright, modern space and there is plenty of seating, but it gets crowded in the evening. Staff is incredibly helpful and will walk you through the menu. Loved the brisket sandwich. Tender beef on a brioche bun - it's everything you could want after a long day on the slopes. The shawarma wrap comes in a beautifully soft pita. The jackfruit was tasty, but not my favorite jackfruit sandwich. All of the sides are great. If you're looking for filling, I highly recommend the pemberton potatoes. Make them poutine for +$6, but I think they're great all on their own. read more

They have THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER EATEN!!! Nice and crispy exterior that deceivingly appears dry, but the chicken meat is very moist and tender. The first flavor hits you with a sweetness that has a tinge of many spices. My first bite literally made me pause, and yell "these are the best chicken wings I've ever eaten!!!"
