Peaked Pies was a wonderful find for us while visiting Whistler. They were the perfect lunch spot for us with all the snow outside. They are located at the north end of the village away from the ski area. It was a little bit of a walk with both my wife and daughter asking "are we there yet" several times. They are a small shop with a few tables inside. It was too cold to sit outside. No sit down service. You order at the counter and get your food at the counter. The pies we ordered were fantastic. Each pie had "pepper" diagram of the type of pie it was. The Hopper (kangaroo) had a diagram of a Kangaroo. The chunky steak & mushroom and chicken, mushroom & leek had their own diagrams. The pies were piping hot and flavorful. The kangaroo did not taste gamey. It was perfect with the cold weather outside. We liked it. Peaked Pies gave us a very good meal while visiting Whistler.

Where else can you get kangaroo in Canada?! I got the Hopper, which has ground kangaroo, and ordered it "peaked" (topped with mashed potatoes, peas, and vegetarian gravy). Kangaroo is a bit gamey, but that didn't dissuade me. I do think there was too much pea though, and having it "peaked" made the top crust soggy. Lastly, the space is tight - probably only fits about 10 people - so be prepared for a quick in-and-out as it does get busy. I will be back to try fruit pies next time I'm in Whistler!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! 10/10 recommend We were walking by while exploring the area and I was intrigued and stopped in- and I'm glad I did! I got the hopper (opted not to get it peaked) and it was delicious! I loved being able to try a unique food. Would absolutely get again when I visit next.

We ordered the Steak and Mushroom Pie and the Kangaroo Pie, with mashed potatoes, mushy peas, and gravy for extra flavor. A hearty choice for cold Whistler nights. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Ambiance: 4/5

My husband recommended we go to this spot for lunch and it did not disappoint. We have a similar concept back in the states and I definitely was excited to try this place. I ordered the chicken/apple/brie pie and my husband chose the steak & pepper pie as well as a sausage roll. They all were delicious! The service was quick & effortless. The workers were incredibly friendly and the food was nice & hot when finished. We both ordered it "peaked" which is a scoop of mashed potatoes, a scoop of mushed peas, and covered in gravy. They were fantastic! They were also incredibly filling and you truly only need to eat one, unless you are extremely hungry! Definitely spend your time here eating one of the pies.

tl;dr the unique cuisine turns out to be more forgettable than enjoyable, yet it's still subject to a Whistler premium Simultaneously affordable and interesting eats are hard to come by in Whistler -- that's where Peaked Pies comes in. This Australian cafe was introduced to Whistler in 2013, specializing in traditional Australian savory pies. Peaked Pies makes it home at the far end of Main St in a shopping complex shared with a hamburger joint and a coffee shop. The front window is decorated with cartoon pies and a Peaked-related word collage. The small space is cozy and inviting. Immediately ahead is a log cross-sectioned counter with a warmly lit, heated pie display. A handful of two-seater wooden tables and metal chairs are pressed against the chartreuse muraled wall on the right. Soft pop and acoustic covers play softly in the background. My partner and I stopped by Peaked for a late breakfast, and we were one of just a handful of customers. We opted for the Chunky Steak & Mushroom pie, which we upgraded to "Get Peaked" (adding mashed potatoes, mushy green peas, and gravy on top). The rich flavor was almost entirely within the pie filling. While tasty, the mix-ins were sparse, and I'm not sure that I had a single bite of mushroom. In contrast, the potatoes and peas were plentiful but flavorless. A Yelp check-in granted a complimentary Minington (a mini lamington, which is an Australian chocolate-and-coconut cake). The cake itself was moist and soft, but the flavor profile was dominated by gummy artificial coconut. The service was friendly and efficient, but prices felt unnecessarily high -- nearly $15 for a single pie. And the portion size was admittedly awkward: too big for a single dinner, but not quite big enough to reasonably split. Peaked Pies may be relatively reasonable in price by Whistler standards, but it's not a spot I would return to if it were routinely available back home.

Came for the pumpkin pie. Should have been a clue on the freshness when I was told there is only one left. The pie we received had the crust just falling off. It was very stale and inedible. We left it mostly uneaten after a couple of bites didn't want to risk getting sick on vacation.

Nut allergy friendly: I didn't have any issues with the pie I had! While it is a little walk to the corner of Whistler Village, it is totally worth it to go to this little savory pie shop! Pies are basically whatever is available at the counter (there's a heated showcase system) and they are made and refilled quick. I got the Traditional Aussie which is a classic ground beef, onions & gravy pie, loaded (or "peaked" - costs extra, definitely worth it for some extra veggies). One loaded pie is a solid dinner, or one and a half normal pies. I got to sample my friend's Beef Curry pie, which was deliciously spiced, and the Hopper, which was interestingly game-y but I would not order it again. They also sell frozen pies to-go! Great for desserts or to heat up so you don't have to make the walk over here if you stay in Blackcomb Village. There are two small tables outside and very limited seating inside. It might not look full, but that's because their service is so quick. Don't be fooled, as the food is great and very affordable for a ski town!

Food was delicious, came out hot and enjoyed quickly. Taste is very rich and fulfilling. Inside seating is limited but the food makes it worth it. Perfect to warm you on a chilly day.

Non fat latte (to go via DoorDash)
Mandy C.

While many coffee shops have closed in the evening, Peaked Pies was still open in the Whistler area. We ordered through DoorDash, all 3 drinks were taped well on the lids and non of them leaked. Their latte was strong and the hot chocolate was delicious. We'll definitely try their pies next time!

Spent $40 on two pies (not peaked, just pies) and a sausage roll (not with a salad or anything else, just a plain roll). Since when did these three items cost this much of money???? Did they make a mistake in their charges for these three items? Or are the prices just ridiculous? Felt frustrated because they kept asking my husband to move (5 times) so that they could get in and out of the employee room. So inconvenient and extremely unprofessional! The lady who served us pies didn't give us cutleries and said "in Aussie, we eat without cutlery". I sensed discrimination and unequal treatment here. Others around us were eating without cutlery cutleries, did you say the same to them? I took our pies, placed them on our table and then came back to ask for cutleries but had to wait a good 5 minutes after receiving our food because no one was in sight despite us calling out to them. Again, I sense discrimination here. I used to really like this place and gave them lots of Business over the years by bringing friends and family over but today is the last time I spend money here. On the positive side, their pies are good! We wiped our plates clean as you can see in the pic below. Not a fan of their sausage rolls, too dry and nothing special about it.

I have never had Australian pie before; but I like what I ordered, steak and mushroom pie. It was a counter service. They also sell frozen pies to go. The place has small seating areas with 3 tables 3 chairs each. The back to back chairs touch each others. Come for the pies!

There was a good selection of pie made fresh and tasty. I liked the kangaroo the best we tried kangaroo pie butter chicken and beef and mushroom. The chicken was dry but had flavor. Friendly quick service, we also had a very good salad to balance out our meal and took a fruit pie home for latter. Good spot for a quick meal in the village

I tried the below items - Provision egg sandwich (9/10) the fried poached egg was a nice texture and super yummy, but one egg is a bit little - Crispy Parmesan Chicken sandwich (9/10): amazing sandwich and huge portion, but can get a bit heavy after awhile - passion fruit cruffins (7.5/10) very nice pastry to try recommended by the cashier, but definitely super messy to eat - Truffle fries (10/10) MUST GET! - Lavender matcha (9/10) I really appreciate how they were able to minimally sweeten my matcha because I just like a tiny hint of sweetness - matcha latte (9/10) - chicken salad sandwich (8/10) very refreshing - blueberry sweet cream cold brew (8/10) refreshing and not too sweet Highly recommend this place for the food but it's always packed. Eventually one opened up outside. But there were quite a few parties just chilling at the tables without food or drink. This could be managed a bit better for guests already with food. I tried the maple matcha. I didn't see a regular one. But i Think I would prefer a non sweetened version. I'm site they have it. Otherwise it was super tasty. I also tried the provisions breakfast sandwich with a crispy poached egg. It should come with a warning label because the yolk really pops and can create quite a mess. We also enjoyed a morning bun. It's citrusy, sweet, crunchy, perf morning treat! Overall if we hadn't hit the rush it would have been a perfect experience.

I guess my expectations were a little too high and my eyes ordered more than I should have. Ordered 2 cinnamon rolls and a long John. I was quite disappointed in both. The cinnamon rolls were quite dry and not enough ooey gooey cinnamon, butter and sugar filling. The frosting doesn't quite melt either. It was only when you got to the center was when the cinnamon rolls were soft with filling. The other parts are just dry and flavorless. The long John was also underwhelming. They used the same frosting as the cinnamon rolls inside the long John. I guess I'm used to more of a custard filling. Sadly, I'm still in search of a great cinnamon roll in Whistler.

Inside is cozy and busy. Luckily, we were able to get the last table. This is a counter service restaurant. They will call your name when food is ready. There was no sign but looks like we bus our own table too and place dirty dishes and silverware in a plastic bucket. Although they are famous for their cinnamon buns we opted to try their crêpes and got one each from their sweet and savoury options: "Breakfast" savory crepe which includes egg, Black Forest ham, mozzarella and balsamic glaze. I dunno but it was a bit too salty for my taste. "NSB" for the sweet crepe: Nutella, strawberry, banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Now this was yummy! They also offer sandwiches and waffles, croissants, vegan pecan bars, brownies and other sweet treats. The chocolate croissant was warm and delicious. Being originally from South Carolina, I grew up calling this kind of treat an "elephant ear" -- but this version is much thinner and crispier. In any case, it hits that same nostalgic, indulgent, sweet spot. Not being able to decide and since there was a large group of us, we tried several -- cinnamon & sugar, chocolate hazelnut spread, brownie, and a couple others that got quickly devoured before we could see what they were! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming (well... unless you eat the whole thing solo). Case in point: it was so good that my oldest twin powered through an entire one herself and absolutely paid the price after. Was it worth it? She'd probably say yes. Service was pleasant, quick, and easy, and for a resort town, the pricing felt pretty reasonable.
