In the Squamish there's a good restaurant where the food is freshly cooked. I had The Works, the food came out hot and fresh with nice crispy to the bacon and sausage. The ambiance is where things fall flat. With dated furniture and a poor lighting the inside is nothing to write home about. The service on the other hand was fantastic with friendly and quick staff. If you are close by and want a restaurant to start your day then Timberwolf Restaurant good way to go. read more

In town the day after Easter so not many places were open for breakfast. So, we ended up here. It's a hotel restaurant which is why it was open. Trying to eat healthy, I got ordered scrambled eggs with turkey sausage, grilled tomato, and whole grain toast. The eggs were fine. The rest was kind of a greasy mess. The turkey sausages were split links that were dense, tough, and greasy - no flavor. The tomatoes were swimming in grease! Really??? And why, oh why, oh why, must restaurants slather butter on the toast?? Especially, when you are making it a point to try to order something healthy. Oh, and the Diet Coke was flat. This restaurant is attached the the Best Western Mountain Retreat in Squamish and is quite a surprise when you walk in. It's beautifully decorated and very loungey. Unfortunately, this set our expectations very high. We went here for dinner after checking in to our hotel. The menu is quite limited and we felt like our cravings couldn't be met. It seems that this restaurant is having a personality crisis over whether to be a high end seafood restaurant or a pub but fails at both. I had the steak & prawns with fries and a side salad. The maple balsamic dressing was the best part of my meal. Everything else was very mediocre. My date had the chicken curry on rice which he found extremely oily and kind of gross. He didn't receive any bread with it, which I think would have helped with the grease so he just kind of trudged along, too shy to send it back. We would not have returned to this place if it wasn't attached to the hotel but oddly, we're very happy we did... We came back for breakfast the next morning expecting the worst and were pleasantly surprised! The breakfast menu had tons of selection from multiple kinds of eggs benny to omletes. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious! No spare grease here! The food was made with high quality ingredients and cooked perfectly to order. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here! I would highly recommend for Breakfast (obvs) but try something else for lunch and dinner. read more

I had the tomato avocado benny and it was excellent. The hash browns were nice and light. Shredded potatoes, it helped make the meal more filling. Coffee was good. The food is good enough and the place is clean. For a safe haven from the road it is a good stopping point, and I mean stop. The service is on the slower side of slow so when you make a stop here be prepared for a good long rest. This feature is good if your butt hurts from a long car ride, or your still hungover from your night before up in whistler, by the time you leave the Timberwolf you will be ready to drive again. Oh ya, I've always enjoyed my food here, but both times I sed exceptionally hungry and in need of somewhere to rest so that could have made me biased. This is definitely a safe haven for me from many turmoils you may find yourself in. read more

After a few crap experiences here I finally decided enough is enough and had to review. You can really only give a place so many chances... This morning my boyfriend and I were out to breakfast and I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla as I have done many times. Normally it is a safe bet. It is supposed to be a mix of scrambled egg, bacon, cheese, green on and tomato in a flour tortilla which in theory should be quite nice. Well the hot mess I was served today and the accompanying service certainly left a lot to be desired. It was about 3 whole tomatoes chopped in with some eggs and nothing else. When I pointed this out to the waitress she said she would go talk to the kitchen and see why they served me a tortilla and tomato monstrosity, she came back with a plate of bacon and said "Oh they are sorry, here is some bacon to make up for it". Ummmm yeah how about thanks anyway. I told her I didn't want it. She took it and brought me my bill. Wait for it....FULL PRICE NO DISCOUNT OR REMOVAL OF THE ITEM I SENT BACK because it was not edible. This is the same restaurant where a few years a go I asked for a steak medium rare, when it came out well don I asked them to fix and I was told "What do you want us to do, uncook it?" When I asked for them to make me a properly cooked $40 steak the rude waitress brought out a raw steak on a plate and asked me "is that rare enough?" I didn't come back for a few years because of that and now never coming back until they learn how to treat customers. We always remark on why it is so dead in there considering there food can be good, but I think the answer is quite clearly that the service is abysmal. Should have known trouble was brewing when we were told only Medium to Well Done were available. We ordered Medium and got one well done, dried out, 1cm thick slice each, with unseasoned mashed potato and reasonable veggies. Child's order was wrong, sent back with no acknowledgement. Sent back the dried out slices of prime rib, but had to call the server back to the table to do it; she was trying to make a quick getaway. We were never quality-checked at any point in the meal, and had to request water refills from passing servers. Possibly the worst restaurant experience of the last 2 years. No sign of any manager or attempt to address the problems, besides taking a different dinner order. Not recommended. read more

Timberwolf. The best restaurant you can find in Squamish. Being the cheap Asian I am, I personally thought it was overpriced but the average meal price on the menu I found was about $20 Canadian. Kinda hidden unless you were in the wonderful hotel that was connected (I booked a room and it was above average) and in the industrial area if Squamish. I ordered the Baked Lasagna with BBQ Ribs. It costed $25. If I could dance in the restaurant without getting looked within a few seconds of having a bite of that Lasagna, I would. It had to be the best Lasagna I have ever tasted. For dessert, I had a Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake. It also had to be the best cake I've ever eaten. This restaurant is great and I will be com8ng back next time I come to Squamish. I would choose this over the Tim Horton's/Wendy's beside the restaurant even though I may have a addiction to fast food... read more

Place was nice on the inside, but it's located in a kind of gritty area inside a motel. Had the eggs bennie with smoked salmon - delicious, great value for the money. They serve actual hash browns instead of breakfast potatoes, which I appreciate. I have visited the Timberwolf for lunch twice. This is a classy place which is great for business lunches (which is why we went there). The food quality is good (we had burgers, sandwiches, and pasta), portions were good sized. Pricing was about $10 for the average dish and $3-6 for drinks. The ambience was very serene for lunchtime. I just walked in and was waiting to be saeted when i saw a server taking an order with a who knows how dirty pen then walk to the back and not wash her hands or anything and completely reorganzided two plates of food with her dirty hands then brought the plates out to the customers. For breakfast - Food was good. Service was both very good and very, very bad. All of the "real" servers were hustling and doing a great job. But - some man came out of kitchen with a soiled white cooks' uniform and attempted to find us a table. He ushered us to a table and then sent us back in line to wait. Then he cleared a table for six to seat just me and my wife. A real server spoke with the cook/server that seated us and told him not to seat anyone more because they do not have enough staff to service any more people. When another real server came to serve us, I offered to go to smaller table because I could see there were a couple of large group waiting in line. The server was grateful and sat us at a quiet table for two. We noticed that the cook/server was continuing to hustle and seat people. We asked our server if she could tell the cook/server to stay in the kitchen and let the staff do their job. Apparently he was not a cook/server. He was a co-owner/manager/cook/server. Our breakfast took close to 40 minutes to get to our table. But it was hot and it was good. We left leaving our "real" server with a generous tip for expectational tolerance of the work situation. I dearly hope that the staff will walk out and find a less toxic work environment - because that is where we'll be eating breakfast from now on. read more

This place was really disappointing. I asked for a coffee refill (which, if you are a good restaurant, I don't have to ask- the coffee keeps being refilled), and never got one. I got a pretty basic breakfast and my sausage with the meal was actually a hot dog sliced on the bias, and it came with a small serving of hashbrowns. Not the worst breakfast I've had but nothing memorable. I ordered the full plate of pancakes for my kids to share, and all that came out were three small pancakes. I thought it might have been the kids pancake plate instead but on the bill it showed as the full adult meal. We were ignored the entire breakfast and had to ask for the bill. I would not recommend unless you are staying at the hotel and are desperate. read more

The worst service I've had in years. I was very excited to try brunch at the Timberwolf. We are new to town and were looking for a great brunch location. They advertise an all day breakfast with a large selection of Eggs Benedict. My husband and I ordered directly off the menu, each having a Benedict, my husband tried the three Benedict sampler with a side of toast. Our server asked us how we wanted our eggs done (???!!!!). Soft please..... They came out hard with barley any hollandaise sauce. The potatoes that came with the breakfast were bland, hard and cold. My husband never received his toast. Half way through our meal we flagged down a staff member to remind them of the wayward toast. "I'll let your server know," said a snarky young girl. 20 minutes later, no toast was served. With plenty of food left on our plates, I asked for the bill. It came a while later with a charge for the toast we never received. In total, we saw our server once during the meal when she took our order, and once when we paid full price for this awful breakfast. Having said that, I don't blame her; the kitchen staff is obviously apathetic, the other staff members seem to have some weird competitive thing going on that gets in the way of service, and management, if present, has no concept of how to deliver quality service.
