The service as mixed. We had a great waiter but our actual waitress was hardly around and honesty kind of snarky. The live singer was excellent and the surroundings very old school vibe. However the food was awful! We had the lobster pasta and the crab cake. The lobster pasta came with an empty tail shell like it had provided the meat. However there were only 5 tiny pieces! Less than 1/2 the lobster tail! It was obvious it had been harvested for the meat for other dishes leaving nothing for the pasta. The crab cake was worse. It smelt like imitation crab from a can and it was sitting on a tasteless slop of avocado that tasted like it also came pre packaged as guacamole from a grocery store except tasted worse. The starters were average as well. The Oysters were fine but that's tough to mess up. The charcuterie board however was awful. Old cheese that tasted left out on the counter with fishy smelling prosciutto on a plate not a board. Nothing like the photos. For the price I'll take my business elsewhere read more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Really enjoyed having breakfast here every morning! Very relaxed and classy atmosphere. Well made food w/ high quality ingredients used. My favorite would have to be the avocado toast. Soft, a little bit of saltiness w/ furikake and warm bread. This is my the 3rd Rosewood Hotel I've stayed at, the other 2 being Rosewood Phnom Penh and Rosewood Kona Village. The service at this restaurant exemplifies and demonstrated the Rosewood brand. From Michelle bringing me to my table every morning and greeting me to the warm smile and excellent service from Leanne. We walked in on Valentine's Day on Friday night and the place was packed. We got lucky as seats opened up at the corner of the bar and we were seated there. A live singer and accompanying pianist were playing beautiful ballads all night. Best of all, however, was the superb customer service provided by Joe, as well as Lou, behind the bar. Is your favorite kinda' hotel lobby bar one where you might have rubbed elbow with Hemingway or, say, an English king?Do you like dark paneling, velvet chairs and marble tables? If the roaring 20's (the 1900 kind) is your vibe, this is your pace to chill. I've loved this place for more than a decade but my last visit was pre-pandemic. Apparently there's a new chef who has never heard the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" because he broke a beautiful signature dish. Can you imagine adding sweet pickle relish to AAA quality beef tartare? Me, neither. Apparently, however, he can. The oysters weren't shucked properly but the bi-valves, themselves, were super fresh and mineral'ly. The burger was exactly as delicious as I remembered. That one? No sweet pickle relish. The drinks are amazing. Their signature cocktail has won all kinds of worldwide recognition and the service is immaculate. This is also a perfect place to curl up with a good book, a snack and a glass of wine or cup of tea, mid-afternoon when the hotel is pretty quiet. The Signature Georgia Hotel drink is a must try as is the Charlie Chaplin. The Spanish G&T with the local indigo gin is also a sight to behold. And did I mention they have food? Really good food. Not only is Vancouver a unique and wonderful city, maybe the best of all worlds in North America, but the Lobby Lounge in the Georgian Hotel (The Old Name) is quintessential Vancouver. Elegant, sophisticated, but so damn down to earth, with no false pretense, the Lobby Lounge is a fantastic bar. Joe was our bartender, mixologist, story teller, and teacher. He made us feel so welcomed, and he showed his appreciation for our patronage. My martini was ideal, and the white Canadian wine dry and crisp. We stayed at this hotel and loved it! I was so excited to try the lobby bar since it had such great reviews but I was disappointed. Both my partner and my drinks were just ok. I ordered an espresso martini that was ok but nothing special and that that came without garnish which I thought was just lazy since the table next to me drinks all had garnish. My partner had an old fashioned that was just ok. I expected so much more from this bar and it was just ok. The ambiance is great and the service is average. The 1927 Lobby Lounge is located in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. It was refurbished two years ago and is a very old skool feel. We came here for an after dinner drink and dessert. I ordered the Van Gogh Smash - Absinthe, Boomsma Genever, Aperol & St, Germain: $12, and yuzu hazelnut ice cream: $8. The licorice flavor of the absinthe was not too overpowering. The seasonal cocktail was nicely conceived, and was refreshing on a warm evening. However, the ice cream as we Hawaiians say, brok da mout!!! The yuzu flavor came out right away and was a good balance to the richness of the hazelnut: A very well thought out combo! Both 5 Stars. Vanessa is an awesome waitress/bartender and she will take very good care of you. She was very attentive and friendly. You felt at home as you relaxed in one of the many seats in lounge: 5 Stars. With all the modern restaurants and cafes around town, 1927 Lobby Lounge brings you back to in time. It's located in the Rosewood Hotel in an open lounge up 4 or 5 steps overlooking the lobby. My friend and I decided to have lunch here and we're glad we did. The service was excellent and couldn't ask for anything more. Their drink list is extensive and you'll be able to find something to your liking. I wanted something light so I went with their Moscow Mule and it was refreshing. We started with a couple of shucked oysters, which had a bit of shell in it, but otherwise, fine. The Grilled Moroccan Lamb appetizer was medium rare, flavored well and had a bit of spice to it. My Smoked Steelhead Salmon entrée was seared perfectly with crispy skin and had a hint of maple vinegar. I was surprised I liked it as much as I did. The kale underneath the salmon soaked up the juices and was delicious. For dessert, I had the Black Forest cake, which wasn't anything out of this world, but I still enjoyed every last bite. read more

I came here with my colleagues for drinks and appies after work and we were very impressed. First of all, their staff are absolutely amazing. Everybody whom I spoke to at this hotel & lounge were all genuinely nice and happy while accommodating us to our every need. The 1927 Lobby Lounge is actually quite small, and only slightly larger than the Hawksworth bar. The seating here is quite comfortable and when we went, it was pretty much completely full with people relaxing and having a great time. Their cocktail menu is actually shared with the bar up on their patio (Reflections) and I particularly liked the Hotel Georgia and their signature Moscow Mule (I've never tasted such strong ginger beer before!) Food was also very good and I honestly have to say that I've never eaten such delicious giant pretzels before. I normally don't even like mustard but it actually perfectly complemented this dish. The grilled Moroccan lamb with flat bread was also a crowd-pleaser but my favourite dish was probably the spicy chicken wings with sriracha mayonnaise! Anyways, our server was very attentive and we had a great time. Even though the lounge isn't quite on Pacific Rim's level, I still feel that they deserve my 5 stars since this lounge is more for relaxing rather than to party and to be seen. ;) read more

Had originally set out to go to Prohibition, but they had standing room only. Forget that! I knew this place existed but had never been, so why not? The atmosphere was classy and intimate. Loved it. The service was fabulous, as were the drinks. My favourite drink was their signature cocktail, "Hotel Georgia" which was apparently created in the early 50's. I had originally asked our server if they could make it with vodka as opposed to gin, as I really don't like gin. He recommended that I stick with the original recipe, as the flavours work better with gin. He pretty much guaranteed that I would like it, so I went for it. He was so right, it was amazing. By far my favorite lobby bars in Vancouver, if not in North America. The plush, sophisticated vibe is a mix of decor and white glove service. Just like the perfect cocktail, everything is well balanced. Food options also look like a cut above the pedestrian, although I can't comment on them because I didn't try any of it. As for the drinks - they are the very definition of hand crafted, made with both precision and skill. Their celebrated Hotel Georgia cocktail is worth trying at least once. It's one of my favorites for sure. I had a total Goldilocks moment when I had it for the first time - not too sweet, not too bitter, not too sour - juuuuust right. And don't worry about the egg whites and nutmeg, they work work in unexpected ways. I can't describe it...so I guess you are just going to have to try it. :) read more

Go back in time to the 1920's, while you unwind and melt into the cushy sofas of the 1927 Lobby Lounge. Located inside the Rosewood hotel on Georgia street, the 1927 Lounge is a perfect option for dinner and drinks in a laidback, but utterly classy atmosphere. I would highly recommend this lounge for an impressive first date, an anniversary, or a classy girls night out. Both the food and wine list are extensive with lots of options to tease those tastebuds. Corner couches and cozy spaces set the perfect mood for romantic flirtation on date night. Unlike Prohibition downstairs, this lounge is brighter and quieter. The lights are still dimmed and candles elegantly placed throughout, but it's not so dark that you have to watch your feet when you sneak away to the washroom. 1927 is much more quaint than Prohib, so I would suggest arriving earlier on Fri/Sat or simply try it out during the week. SERVICE was spot on, as you would expect at this top notch hotel. Our server was Vanessa. Vanessa was both social and helpful all with a big, genuine smile! Complimentary snacks were provided and they were gobbled up quickly. Seasoned Almonds and skinny bread sticks displayed beautifully in a fancy holder. FOOD We ordered the Chorizo pizza and the Rustichella Pappardelle pasta. Pizza was flatbread style and cut into long thin pieces. The cut was weird, as the pieces of pie where flopping over the edge of my plate. The pizza itself was yummy with mildly spiced organic chorizo, arugula and mozzarella. I enjoyed it, but felt it would taste better with a stronger cheese to compliment the meat. A Parmesan or goat perhaps. The Pappardelle pasta was okay with very tasty pancetta, but only if you had pancetta in each bite, otherwise I found it a little bland. I prefer my pasta sauce and this dish was on the dryer side. It also seemed a little low on the ingredients. I felt the food was more 3.5 stars, but with the service, the ambiance and the wine list I gave 5. Bathrooms are located outside the lounge down a hall wall on the lefts hand side. The bathrooms are beautiful and spacious and even have a cute vanity with a chair to sit check your make up. :) The COCKTAIL and wine list is very expansive! Some excellent choices for both glasses and bottles of wine. I had a wonderful Bordeaux!! Truly a disappointing evening. We live close to the Rosewood Hotel and hadn't tried the 1927 Lobby Lounge. We sat at the bar and we have to say that the bartender was exceptional. We ordered cocktails in advance of having dinner which should have been an easy food order - two hamburgers. At $26 per burger - they should have been exceptional - comparable to a burger at say Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar or Bacchus Lounge (same price) where you can order ground chuck cooked to your specifications (medium or even medium rare). That was not an option at the 1927 Lobby Lounge. This was a run of the mill, over-cooked, burger served on a cheap soggy bun and it took an hour and a half for it to arrive! We had already consumed our cocktails and a bottle of wine waiting for the food to arrive - which by any measure - was substandard. We could tell that the bar staff were hugely embarrassed and tried to compensate by sending out a big plate of fries in the interim as we waited for our food which was inappropriate as we received another huge helping of fries when our food finally arrived. Neither my wife nor I finished our burgers - they were close to inedible. We will not be returning to the 1927 Lobby Lounge. read more

I recently went to the 1927 Lobby Lounge for lunch with my girlfriend and had a great time. We ordered the Oven Fired Turkey BLT and Blackened Albacore Tuna sandwiches, and swapped half of each sandwich with each other. The food was great - both sandwiches were a good size and made with quality ingredients. I really enjoyed the Asian-influenced tuna sandwich, it really highlighted the flavours of the tuna, rather than covering it up with an abundance of mayonnaise. The turkey BLT came with a large filet of turkey breast rather than cold cuts, which was also a pleasant surprise. Aside from the great food, this restaurant has much to offer: Impeccable service, stylish lounge furniture,and mellow ambiance (good for having a conversation). The 1927 Lobby Lounge is definitely a nice date place, but I could easily bring clients here for a business lunch, too. read more

We first came to the 1927 Lounge because it was across the street from our hotel (the Four Seasons), and we were looking for a place that did cocktails close by. We ended up coming back two more times (including for a nightcap after dinner) because we absolutely loved the time here. It's easy to miss this, which is why we were able to get a seat without waiting on a Thursday and Saturday night without having to wait...if you walk all the way to the back of the lobby, it's off to the right behind a strategically-placed wall, which gives it a bit more of an intimate environment. There are usually a couple servers who are taking care of everyone, although when it gets later at night, even the bartender came out and served us a cocktail or two and explained the tricks / secrets of the trade. Given the era being referenced, it's perhaps no surprise that the ambiance is more of old-school elegance of a past era, and with nice, plump leather chairs to sink into, as well as old-school jazz, it's a great spot to kick back and relax at. The cocktail menu is a bit more limited up here relative to the downstairs speakeasy (Prohibition), but I stuck with the Hotel Georgia and the Cavalier - two of the absolutely most delicious cocktails I have had anywhere. Both are a little less liquor-forward, but neither is overly sweet, and both have clear, crisp flavors that really hit the spot (especially the orange blossom syrup for the house cocktail). My wife really enjoyed the tea service as well, and the server was always more than willing to refill her teapot with more hot water. There is also a full food menu if you want to eat a meal, but we stuck with the charcuterie plate, which had a great selection of cheeses (a fantastic blue, a very mild cheddar and brie) paired with a nice pile of prosciutto and sliced soppressata. When we came back the second time, we eschewed the ice cream (which my wife really wanted) in flavor of the scarlet cake...and what an excellent choice that was. The cake is basically a chocolate cake house in a chocolate shell and drenched in a black cherry syrup that is on the sweet end but retains just a hint of that tongue-curling tartness to make each bite divine. Even if you are not staying in the hotel, this is a must-visit when it comes to drinks. Prohibition downstairs is nice, too, but for what 1927 is trying to accomplish, it is definitely the best lobby bar I have been to anywhere in the world so far. read more

The lounge is smaller than I expected from the photos. I came here after attending the Book of Mormon musical. The ambience is quite inviting and seating was very comfy and spacious. Wayne Gretzky was a unique cocktail. Service was also prompt and friendly as the complimentary pretzels were filled three times over the course of a few cocktails. Not to mention that we never requested for it to be refilled. It was good gesture and the pretzel sticks were too tempting to refuse. I was a little disappointed to find out that the kitchen was closed when we arrived as I was hoping to try out some desserts.
