Went here on a Friday at 9:30pm and surprisingly, we got a seat in under 5 mins! A few years when I came here we had to wait for like an hour for 3 people so I'm glad we got in so quickly. It was pretty busy inside as well. Their menu is always changing and they always have cool themes. I tried 2 different types of baijius this time.

Came here after going to the other speakeasy down the block. Our waitress at Bagheera told us about it since it's their sister location and cued us on how to get in. Dumpling storefront and beautiful bar in the back. The waiter was very nice and gave some recommendations. We ordered drinks and dumplings bc I had to try all the yuminess. Drinks - faulty equipment, head over heels, Shanghai noon, fury road, and good old ol fashioned. I did not like my drinks and my bf was not impressed with his either. I didn't like his and he didn't like mine. They are beautifully presented but the taste isn't my thing. Although he enjoyed his old fashioned. We drank them bc that would be alcohol abuse but not the tastiest. The dumplings were good. Bison was meh. Chicken and chive was delicious. I'd recommend and go back. The place is super cute with a great vibe.

This is a pretty cool speakeasy bar in Vancouver Chinatown area, with the literal translation of the place being "foreigner" like "gwei lo" equivalent haha. Parking is very limited and paid, and it is not in the best part of town, but despite that, the bar inside looks upscale and pretty. We made reservations same day which were possible on a Sunday, and even though we showed up 10 min late, they still accommodated us. We ordered number 7 and in a few minutes, the person at the front of the dumpling shop took us in to the speakeasy bar. We were a party of 3 and got 3 drinks total - Via Galaxie, Brown Chicken Brown Cow, and Faulty Equipment. Each drink is dedicated 2 pages on the menu, with inspirations of the invention of an item by the Chinese. The Via Galaxie was fairly strong and placed in a cute astronaut holding cup. The Brown Chicken Brown Cow is placed in a mushroom, and the waitress was nice to add the paper syrup to burn on it since I was intrigued by the ingredients of the Brown Chicken Brown Cow but also wanted the paper burning presentation of Burn After Reading, so instead of having to order another cocktail just for it, she was nice to add it to the drink I wanted. The Faulty Equipment is sparkling and easy to drink. All the drinks have complex notes and ingredients, which demonstrates the complexity and craft of each cocktail. Service was good, the person outside was nice, and the waitress was nice and accommodating. We had very positive experiences of this place, and even though some reviews say there is bias against Asians, we were welcomed as 3 Chinese customers and had no issues. We did walk confidently to the front knowing what to do, say the password, and had no issues.

Stunning bar, the drinks were just ok. Super creative menu but the two drinks we tried weren't very impressive. The bartenders were friendly and we wanted to like it more. Next time hopefully drinks will be better.

This place was recommended def to us by our bike tour guide. I always love a good surprise so we ordered off the menu ;-) The cocktail menu is beautifully crafted and thoughtful. I love that they give you a detailed description of the flavors in the drink and what type of glass it's in. We liked it so much we purchased one as a souvenir. We went after dinner so were mostly full but we tried the bison dumplings which were good. Service was friendly. I would recommend for a nice romantic date night.

Came here on a Sat night. Enjoyed the speakeasy environment, live music, and spacious seating. They offered a wide range of drinks including many variations of baijiu. We ordered the dumplings and stinky tofu to accompany the drinks. The drinks were good, but the food was too salty and not authentic. The staff was very friendly.

Really cool concept. Needed a secret passcode to enter the bar through their "refrigerator". Came on a night with live music so they charged us 7CAD per person extra. Really cool concept with a unique theme. Drinks are pricey, but worth the experience. Great service!

went here last night with my daughter! it was amazing. the drinks were so delicious, ambiance was beautiful. It was a Thursday night and relatively quiet - there was a pianist and singer that really made for a luxurious lounge feeling. Willow our server was so welcoming and nice. we had a couple cocktails and an order of the pork dumplings. very fresh and delicious. i loved the speakeasy entrance. will definately recommend to everyone!

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

This was fine with us since the goal was to have a couple of drinks and stuff ourselves with some burgers and fries from Hundy (the burger joint we needed to go through to get to Stock Room). I started with the dangerous liaison cocktail (beefeater gin, peach, lemon, sugar, butterfly pea flower). This was a solid drink, refreshing and hit the spot. My second drink was spreadsheet (beefeater, st. germain, lime, strawberry syrup, green strawberry bitters). I enjoyed this drink better as it wasn't too sweet and the flavor profile was more to my taste when it comes to cocktails. I'm happy to have found another bar to add to my list of places to grab a good drink in Vancouver.
