Overhyped and under-delivered. Drinks were good, not great. There are way better spots in town for creative cocktails (head to Chinatown, don't be scared!). Server was super kind, but they explained basic ingredients to us, perhaps revealing the customer whom they typically cater to. For the price and the hype, I expected it to be a better experience than it was.
This downtown bar with a bit of a speakeasy vibe is certainly a happening place at happy hour. I was there on a Wednesday night, and the music was cranking from a live performer. The place was packed to the point where I ended up standing at the bar. I guess even the bar seats require a reservation. There's a lot of creative cocktail making going on here, and I enjoyed the drinks, but both of the drinks that I tried seemed simpler in actuality than their complex descriptions implied that they would be. Certainly, the Kelpie was well-named because it was like drinking ground-up nori. If you don't like seaweed, you would not like this drink. The other drink I had was the Run Wild, which turned out to be an excellent espresso martini, but again not as complex as the ingredients might imply. It was perfectly assembled, though, and the float of cream on top of it was sublime. There's a nice menu of happy hour bites that I hadn't seen online, and also a food menu for sharing that I hadn't found anywhere either. In addition, during happy hour they were passing around various small bites, including their chili chicken and a truffle flatbread. Both were quite tasty and appreciated. The bartending was precise, but the volume level in the place precluded any form of socializing, so I can't comment on the friendliness of the servers.
Friday night here is definitely the hottest vibe. People were standing by the bar coz there want enough table for everyone. Drinks are overall too sweet, even the one that Server said "not sweet". They have nice presentation but not very good taste compare to other bars.
Profecy is a nice cocktail lounge. My only complaint is that it is quite dark in there. The cocktails are very interesting with unique features. There's even a chart at the end on the menu to check where you drink stands: "refreshing", "herbaceous","lush" or "spiritous". Each cocktail has a short story and some illustrations. Fancy looking menu. It is a bit pricey but they do have some nice offers during happy hour. My favorite cocktail was the Radio Saigon.
This is one of my favorite places to go out with my friends! Their cocktail menu is huge with so many creative and thoughtful drinks. The server was very helpful with helping us to pick drinks that matched our preferences and tasted amazing. The interior is dark and moody, it felt like I was in New York or Chicago. I would recommend everyone to go if you want an elevated and fun night out.
Had to find. Google maps did not have the front door in the right place. Look for the bunny sign out front! Only 20% busy Sunday 6PM. Nice atmosphere. Bar tenders were very friendly and welcoming. Kitsune: 8.5/10 very wine-tasting Barefoot Dancer: 9/10 it is more ice than drink. Flavor was fine, not too strong. Microcosm: 10/10 our favorite drink of the Whole night. Even better it's cheap if you go before 6PM. Jelly Worldwide: 9/10. Mostly giving it a high score as it is an upscale Jello shot - very fun but very bland. Gender neutral single stalls bathrooms available - very clean.
Service: when we first walked in there were at least four hostesses standing at the podium who all looked at us like "what are you doing here?" And it felt like a lot. Very overwhelming. They took us to our table right away, even though we were early to our reservation. Our server was very kind, but must have been the only one working so she was VERY slow and the bartender even slower. So, when she was at our table she was fantastic, problem was she just wasn't there. Ambiance: This place is very dark and screams cocktail bar. It has interesting artwork and feels very trendy. It is decorated like a place you should dress up to go, but you aren't required to. Food & Drinks: we started with an overpriced charcuterie tray. It was pretty good, the Bri cheese was delicious, but I would've liked it to have been served with some nice crackers instead of over toasted bread. my husband got the steak frites and a dirty martini. The steak had great flavor, but was supposed to be medium rare. Even in almost complete darkness we could tell it was undercooked. The red wine reduction it's served with was good, but a little salty. I got a lemon pappardelle pasta and it was really yummy! Pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. If I had to change anything I would have liked more of the basil flavor to come out and for there to be more zucchini. I also tried a the second nature margarita. It was pretty good, but they garnish it with mint. Odd choice for a marg and I hate mint. I took the mint out, but I could still taste it.
one of the coolest cocktail bars i've been to. the logo itself with the bunny is enough for me to give them five stars, but the cocktails and appetizers were really good. our server was super knowledgeable in helping us pick drinks. the decor and set up was just super cool. would highly recommend!
Very good drinks that were well-balanced and easy to drink. The bartenders are very experienced and know what they're doing / talking about. Yelp fail -- wish I remembered the names of the cocktails we ordered, but I recall they were more earthy tones. I'm sure the bartenders could give excellent recs based on your preferred flavor profile. If in town again and want a good solid drink, would definitely come back. :)
Fantastic cocktails with a night club vibe, Prophecy is the subterranean bar at the swank Rosewood Hotel Georgia. During busier hours, there is a bouncer/doorman and when you enter the space downstair, it feels like a club. I opted for a visit at 4:30pm so it was empty, but I liked the quiet. The cocktail menu is very creative, and my cocktail (the Tesoro) had mezcal and a cricket! It was awesome, and for my second drink, I had a black manhattan with a Canadian rye whiskey which was smooth as butter. Service was pleasant and attentive. Not sure what this place will be during peak hours, but I totally enjoyed my experience during the soft opening hours.
Walked in on a Friday night without a reservation which was great, but the atmosphere felt odd. Extremely busy and the music was blasting (you would think that people would be dancing), yet everyone was just sitting and somehow managing to chat over it. The bartenders were super friendly though, and the Microcosm was amazing, I'd definitely recommend that drink.
The drinks here were 10/10. I love the drinks that I ordered- particularity Northern Lights. Very showy and the flavour was sweet and refreshing. The only downside is the price point- $25 per drink. Was it worth 25? Probably not. Even so, i think the atmosphere and the ambience makes up for it. That and the service is great too. There is live music on wednesdays and i think sundays? Might be wrong but the music was so lovely. I most likely will go back.
Well now what a pleasant surprise to witness when I walked down the stairs into Prophecy! Located underneath the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, enter via Howe St or basically across from the Apple Store. The design & architecture are supreme, accompanied by stunning art & beautiful floor carpet. The burly bouncer at the main door showed me the old prohibition days - sliding wooden window screen - on the door, which was how the doorman would check to see who was who trying to get in & make sure you weren't the Popo. LOL. Long gone are those days thank gawd. Get your drink on! Prophecy has brought on a who's who of industry peeps including Michelin Guide awarded Vancouver bartender Jeff Savage & Nicole Cote to curate some fine cocktails. I look forward to the live jazz music & rotating DJs to come. Stay tuned. Recommend coming in here in a more smart casual attire as this is definitely - a classy joint.
I went to Prophecy for Happy Hour after work on a Tuesday. There wasn't a lot of other customers and the hosts were pretty attentive. The environment was atmospheric and elegant. Their drink menu was extensive with great descriptions and visuals. I tried the host's recommendation "Angel's Share" which is non-alcoholic. It was delicious and spicy. The whole experience was amazing until the manager spilled some liquid on my white pants and shoes. Luckily, the liquid was just water / transparent alcohol so there wasn't any stain. The manager later came to apologize and gave me his card, saying that I can send him a dry clean bill if needed. Overall, it was a good experience, and I am glad the spill didn't make a stain. read more

I had high expectations for this place given that this place earned its spot in the Top 50 Best Bars North America list. We didn't have a reservation in advance on Sunday but found a reservation when we arrived at the bar. We went through the ID checks, the usual. The demeanor of the hosts and management need improvement. Otherwise, the service when we ordered drinks and the quality of drinks were really good. I feel like some negative reviews also voice the same issue. While my issues were resolved via compromise on both sides, I am still leaving this as a 1 star since I was not particularly satisfied in the way this is handled compared to numerous other visits at bars and restaurants of high caliber (as demonstrated in my repertoire of reviews) We got the Kelpie and Northern Lights, both fantastic drinks with good presentation and show. Kelpie tastes like seaweed in cocktail form, with a bit of herbal notes from aquavit. The Northern Lights is presented with a smoke effect and is tangy and refreshing. Drinks were excellent. A few issues were mostly from hosts/manager side which caused pain to the beginning and end of the visit - We walked in, full house, it is busy I get it. Sunday 8:45pm. I found reservations for 9:30pm and let them know and I trust their understanding of waitlist and reservations management. Both the host and I communicated thoroughly throughout the process, so credit is due here. - However, we were perusing the menu within earshot of the host table, and a couple without a reservation social engineered their way to bar seats. So I asked what the situation was and they said they were at standing tables for drinks, but they were lying since we saw them get the 2 seats at the bar - So we decided to not wait any longer and were at the standing tables. Not really a big deal, would have preferred that this was an option to begin with since we were there for drinks and they did not even communicate this option to us (I'd imagine Saturday would be busier and given they supposedly do a good job with waitlist and reservations, they should've communicated this as an option for us) - We enjoyed our drinks. 9:35pm comes around, they apparently double booked and prioritized someone that had 9:30pm reservation too, that came after us, and left us still at the standing tables. It made no sense like we would've seated and finished our drinks and have those bar seats free. - Finally, they tell us the bar seats are available at 9:45pm and we were already done with the drinks. We didn't plan to order more so we wanted to speak to the manager who did not want to comp the drinks (I understand the POV but at least be more apologetic and side to the customers. Food and beverage usually side on the customers to appease them, but here the manager 100% sided on the host without wanting to hear our side fully and even if he listened, he still does not change the stance). Instead of comping the tab (which this situation at least warrants a discount), the compromise was to give us enough short stories (small cocktails) that somewhat equal to the cost of the 2 cocktails (which was about 60 CAD). Which is fine, I would've preferred drinking less but given the stubbornness I didn't want to get a worse deal so we sat at the bar and enjoyed the mini cocktails). So the issue is resolved via compromise which could have left a 3 star review but the way the whole situation is handled sadly pushed me to write a 1 star review. read more

Came for a friend's birthday, they had live music until 8pm on Saturdays and then a live DJ. Great vibes. I really recommend a reservation, you will be turned away if you don't have one as they are pretty full. Cocktails and cocktails are great, they food was not good value. We loved the margarita pizza but thought the ravioli portion was way too small for an entree. Chocolate cake was mostly tasteless. Service was amazing, staff is friendly and attentive. read more
Recently reopen bar in basement of hotel Georgia rosewood. Was there many years ago before they close. Few people on weekday happy hour 4pm. Three HH cocktails selection 12 bucks each. They are good price and taste good. Good food selections too for HH including $100 waygu sandwich . Nice environment. Good they open now another choice beside hawksworth. Will be back read more
