The kitchen from aloud booth

My dad and I came and got the pork Parmesan sandwich with a side of carrot ginger soup we split it because it was the biggest schnitzel I have ever seen, we both agree it was one of the best sandwiches we have ever had. The service was excellent food came fast kind people. The vibes were great rustic almost very cozy and nice patio I loved how you could see the chef cook right beside you, really recommend!

Sarmale with Ribs

We ordered takeout from this small European restaurant. We placed our orders over the phone, and thankfully, they were ready within the next 15-20 minutes or so. Once we stepped inside the restaurant for our pick-up, our food was ready, and we promptly paid. By the time we got back to our Airbnb, the food was still warm, and the portions were huge. I ordered the sarmale with ribs. It included three pork cabbage rolls, and four barbecue pork ribs with polenta with bacon and cheese and a homemade pickled tomato. I think this dish really hit the spot. I personally never have cabbage rolls on a regular basis, so it was great to treat to expand my palate with this sort of European dish. My friend got the schnitzel, and his was a huge piece of meat. I think it was either the chicken or pork, and like me, he was also unable to finish his entire dinner. I really think that this is a great spot to hit up if you are staying within Squamish. In Vancouver, we really never have European straight food up. It's always a mix of Canadian or fusion or something else, so it's a delight to try this sort of cuisine. One thing I wish that they could improve upon would just be seasoning their food, but overall, their food was on point. The service was great with the short interaction that we got with the restaurant, so if you are lazy to dress up and eat inside a restaurant, this is a great place to order it. We tried ordering at a different barbecue joint about five minutes away from this place; however, they were too busy to even take our order, so at the end of the day, I would go here.

Service was amazing, portions enormous, food soooo delicious Definitely will come back

Classic Benny with a side of homemade sausage

The food wait on a Sunday at noon was pretty slow but the dishes ended up being worth the wait. I love how you can mix and match your Benny or add a third Benny to your meal. The place is pretty impressive with what it makes in-house. They make their own English muffins, sausages, pea meal bacon, ginger beer and ice cream. Homemade hollandaise too but I think that's fairly standard at most places. I'm sure there's probably more but that's the extent of what we tried. I love the personal heated lamps you get on the patio, I've never seen those before and I think they are super neat. Service was friendly and the ambiance was comfortable. The only improvements I could see were the flavouring of the sausage and how dry my hash browns were. I could tell they were on the flat top for a while and had become pretty dehydrated.

Bennies with peameal bacon!

Great place for breakfast & coffee. Service was great! Had the eggs Bennie with peameal bacon and hubby had the French onion soup. Let's start with the Bennie: sauce was a 5/5, egg cooked perfectly; although I did not like the spinach spin on the classic. I'm a classic girl when it comes to my bennies. The potatoes were a 3.5/5. Now the soup: it was a 3 / 5. Not enuf cheese and the flavour was bland...we've had better. The place is very cute / quaint but very small so if going at a popular time, u may have to wait. I would recommend checking out this place for their bennies. Also their coffees were a 5/5!!

Single egg benny, all homemade: peameal bacon, english muffins, hollandaise... spicy potatoes with blackened onions

They pack boxes lunches for river floats... just ingo, nothing to do with me. I just had the best breakfast in the cutest, most organized all-homemade resto I have found since moving to the mainland 4 years ago.

Cubano

PHENOMENAL!!! Not going to lie, we ended up here because we follow them on Instagram. Came in for a late lunch on the way up to Whistler. My wife had the Schnitzel & Spaetzle and I had the Cubano. We split them & still had enough to take for a snack the next day. Everything was made fresh in the open kitchen that's right next to the dining room. Definitely recommend and cannot wait to go back. Hidden gem in Squamish!

Cubano!!!

Valentine's Day dinner…read more location: PidGin food/drink: price: $$$$ review: This was the dinner I was looking forward the most to for my weekend trip in Vancouver. I had a great feeling about their customer service as I was in touch with Silvia via email about the delayed publishing of the set menu for Valentines Day. With the great ratings and look over the menu (especially vegetarian menu for my friend), we decided to book and pay for the meal in advance (deposit). I've never had a 6-course type meal and was looking forward to the nice treat, but my hopes must have been set too high. Overall, the plates were small and underwhelming. There was always one component of each dish that was unsatisfying. From the creamy yet acidic sauce that came with the ravioli, glorified avocado toast, or just a head of cabbage., my vegetarian friend didn't get the sustenance or value in her meal. For me, the duck and beef tartare were the best bites. We both liked the hojicha tiramisu, which we got packaged to go. It was a long service, almost 2.5 hrs, when we began at 8:45pm. The waitress kept it real with us, asking for our feedback, which led her to bring out a more classic dish that the restaurant offers for my friend to supplement her meal. It was okay, but not memorable or making up for the rest of the night. Maybe the menu was rushed, but the ingredients made us excited just for us to leave thinking we definitely could have had a better meal (and for cheaper) elsewhere.

Service was amazing from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. The host was pleasant and there…read morewas excellent communication between front and back of house. When our server poured our waters we informed him of our dietary restrictions and he was already aware. We had a party of 3 and tried the Dine Out Vancouver 2026 8-course tasting menu for $70/person. Each course was served family style but the portions were small. The server explained each course and adjustments were made according to our dietary restrictions. 1) Tsukune chicken skewer: a bit dry, but the egg yolk dip helped. 2) Nori roll: bite-sized and I really liked the texture. The rice was super soft, which was a nice contrast from the crispy nori. 3) Beet tartare (normally ahi tuna tartare but I had the vegetarian version): packed with flavour on a nori crisp. 4) Mushroom duxelle croquette: I love mushrooms so I loved this dish. It tasted like a mushroom tempura and the batter was nice and light. 5) Japanese sweet potato ricotta agnolotti: a bit salty, but we enjoyed the rich flavours. It only came with a few pieces but the pasta was definitely made fresh. 6) Lingcod: this was one of the bigger dishes. I liked the sauce that was smothered in hazelnuts. 7) Bulgogi beef striploin: this was probably our fave dish, served as build-your-own lettuce wraps. I added foie gras for an extra $28 and it was heavenly. The foie was thick, oily and melted in my mouth. They have a foie gras rice bowl on their regular menu and I would go back just for that. 8) Hojicha posset: this was a refreshing dessert and the flavours were well balanced.

It was a long time coming and they did not disappoint! From the warm and inviting atmosphere, and historical heritage house setting, to attentive waitstaff, and delicious menu options, served in the highest quality and with attention to detail, we were blown away. They sat us promptly at our reservation time, pulling the table for us to sit comfortably. Free complimentary crab puffs were given along with ice water, free baguette slices, and whipped butter. We ordered our martinis, which were delicious vibrant, balanced, and themed to the city. They were delicious and the mixture was mixed perfectly. He had the White Rock and enjoyed it; I had the Green Timbers. Our charcuterie was expertly plated and gorgeous to look at, along with fresh and delicious. The cheese, cured meats, and fruits were fresh, crisp, tangy, and perfectly paired with one another for a solid appetizer. We then had our encores. The steak I had (he had the duck) was the most supple, soft, juicy, and perfectly cooked medium rare I've had in my memory. I swear. If you love steak.. you'll love it. Perfectly seasoned, supple and soft... gorgeous. Along with the pillowy, crispy potatoes and veggies? Classic! The waitstaff were friendly, efficient, attentive, and cordial, with a smile and clearly loved their job. Ours, Mike, said he'd been at the place for over 10 years.. clearly, he liked coming to work. It's great to see! We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our experience at the Old Surrey Restaurant and will 100% be back again, as well as plan. On gifting dinner to the in laws. If a restaurant could have a perfect score, in my books, this would be almost (if not) it!

The wine flights were not great. The wines tasted oxidized. The service was OK, the guys doing the table side were excellent. Our waitress I think the table beside us had her running in circles being extremely demanding over a red wine so I'm not sure if that's why our service was not great. I feel that considering it was not just any anniversary but our 25th, they did nothing to make the evening feel special which was disappointing. I'm disappointed as I was so excited to try Old Surrey Restaurant as we were hoping we could come here going forward for birthdays and anniversaries.
