Great cozy restaurant. Good service. Quiet and not too busy good for date nights. Food is tasty, and plating is beautiful. Portions are generous. You can tell they spent a lot of heart on the dishes.

Had dinner here on Wednesday night. They had $34 Canadian 3 course option. Amazing value! The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Lots of textures and flavors. Our server was attentive and happily described each item as she brought them to the table. The restaurant was cozy with a nice vibe with a view of the mountains in the distance.

Great food. The taste must be a little sophisticated for me. I did appreciate the range of flavors

I tried out Alta Bisto's spring tasting menu. This had a fairly great value for higher end fare. The highlight of my time here was the bison which paired amazingly with the berries on the plate. The staff was pleasant and the food came out fast. I enjoyed the decor and the wall of preserves fruits and veggies.

Stopped by this place for dinner after a day at the Scandinave Spa. Staff was extremely helpful and passionate about the menu, answering any questions we had and giving us excellent recommendations. The dining room is quite large but feels very intimate and cozy. Highly recommend coming in the fall season, as they have a pretty good prix fixe menu where you can really get your moneys worth. We each tried one of the special cocktails which were delicious and a great start to the meal. My favourite dish of the night was the venison tartar. I was expecting the gamey-ness might be too strong but if anything it was the opposite! The dish was so well balanced and had me wishing for more as soon as I finished. For mains I took a gamble on the Morcilla and it paid off. I was pretty hungry, but this mushroom and rice dish was so rich with nutty and umami flavours it hit the spot. Both desserts were out of this world, but id give a slight edge to the pistachio mousse for the creativity and the delicious preserves served alongside it that really tied the dish together.

We recommend Alta Bistro for any occasion. It's a place where every dish is a unique French culinary adventure. The Table d'Hote menu delivered perfection without leaving us overly stuffed. Each course was a masterpiece. Our table boasted: * Fresh Oysters (my fav) * Caramelized Shallot and Pear Bisque * Roasted Hakurei Turnip * Chicken Liver Mousse (my fav) * Seafood Tartine * Pan-Seared Rockfish, * Smoked Lamb Belly. The presentation was impressive - each plate was a work of art, totally Instagram-worthy! Food: 4/5 Should Try! Service: ‍‍‍‍4/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $50-$100 for two (Dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Tips: * charge for hot water. * can make a table reservation through their website. * recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. * slightly off the main Whistler Village. Would I Return: Yes ‍

Quick Summary Excellent food and service in an intimate but lively environment. Ordered the chef's menu with a 5 course meal. Try to make a reservation, especially on weekends Food- 5 stars The chef's menu came with a 5 course meal, which were all small plates (fine dining style). It was a great way to try out most of the menu and saved a bit of money compared to ordering a la carte. It came with the brandade and white anchovy on toast, rangeland elk tartare, rainbow trout, rangeland elk striploin, and a chocolate dessert. Everything was delicious and well plated. Cocktails- 5 stars Tried the yuzu cocktail and the maple old fashioned. The yuzu was a bit too sweet, However, the maple old fashioned was very well made (especially enjoyed the maple infused popcorn which provided a terrific scent) Service- 5 stars Excellent service as staff were very friendly and attentive. Ambiance- 5 stars Intimate and lively dining experience. Perfect for any dinner occassion Bottom Line Fantastic dinner spot if you're located in the Village. Make a reservation, especially on weekends

Run, don't walk! Make a reservation for fabulous French food in the BC Rockies. Ambience 5* Food 5* Service 5* Combine a quaint location with great culinary skill, fine ingredients, and a charming and knowledgeable staff and you have a Michelin quality restaurant. I am staying at the Four Seasons for a 6 day ski trip and have ate at several Whistler restaurants... this has been by far my favourite! When dining alone, I love a bar/kitchen seating when and AB delivered a great dining experience. My host was Tommy a skilled mixologist and well versed foodie. First course was BC oysters. A wonderful mignonette or a Thai spiced shaved ice with fresh shaved horseradish both were a perfect complement to the sweet and mild oysters. Accompanied by a well balanced Roku gin Vesper was a fantastic start. Second course was Beef Cheeks crusted with pistachios along side crispy parsnips, parsnip purée, and beets. Divine! Paired with a Grenache/Syrah fro Côtes du Rhône which complimented the tender minerality of the beef. I am not a big dessert person, but the chocolate mouse and cardamom ice cream was sublime. Paired with Chartreuse made a heavenly finish to truly 5 star meal. Can't wait for a return visit

Alta Bistro had some fun and tasty menu options. Would definitely like to come back here and try some more. Surprised it was rather empty on a Wednesday night. Home made ginger beer was a bit watery. The pork was outstanding. Like butter.

I'm not usually a fan of duck, but this was the first time I've ever truly enjoyed it perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The duck spring rolls were a 10/10. We also had the braised short rib and the West Coast Bouillabaisse, both incredible. The seafood stew, in particular, was next level the mini crostini dipped into the broth was pure magic. Everything from the flavors to the overall experience was spot on. Highly recommend if you're in Whistler.

Service was impeccable throughout our visit. My rating does not reflect the quality of service we received. Water was always full, servers constantly checked in. If I had just the smallest thing to nitpick, it would be that our server didn't recommend any particular dishes - only saying that everything on the menu is great. We ordered the following dishes: Country Game Terrine, Red Deer Venison, and Five Spice Duck. Everything was just okay. 2.5 star experience. The venison was my favorite but it didn't wow me, just cooked well with a decent portion size. The five spice duck would have been much better with a sauce to bring the ingredients together, overall the dish was just a lot of sweet, with the duck breast on the tougher side. Unfortunately we won't be back. I think this restaurant has been resting on its laurels for too long. For the price there are better options in Whistler.

Not a huge deal, but it felt like a missed opportunity for hospitality. The appetizers were the highlight of the night. The steak tartare was excellent, the foie gras was rich and buttery, and the oysters were fresh and well-prepared. Honestly, the apps carried the meal. Mains were more mixed. My friend wasn't a fan of the short rib, the steak was just okay, but the clam chowder was a hit. Not pictured, but the date cake was the best dessert -- we ended up ordering the full dessert assortment and that one stood out. The space itself is dark and cozy, though surprisingly empty for a weekend. Don't think I'd return but it was a pleasant dinner.

The Hokkaido scallops were tender and lightly sweet, while the steak tartare was fresh, well-seasoned, and cleanly executed. The ribeye steaks were the highlight--perfectly cooked with a great crust and rich flavor. Sides of carrots, kale, and broccoli were simple, fresh, and balanced the meal well. Refined but relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and consistently solid execution. An easy recommendation for a date night or celebratory dinner in Whistler.

Everyone was so attentive and friendly, and it just made the whole experience feel a lot more special. We went all in and got the seafood tower, Pemberton potato soup, elk, some wine, and dessert. The seafood tower was really fun to share and everything came out fresh and well done. The potato soup was super comforting, and the elk was cooked really nicely. Nothing felt like a miss. They also have a wine cellar with a ton of bottles, which was really cool to check out and added to the whole experience. It is definitely on the pricier side, but being in Whistler that kind of comes with it. Overall it felt worth it for the experience, especially with how great the service was.

It's rare to find round table for more than five people that is spacious with lots of room in between tables. We had the fixed lobster menu, which consisted of four courses. Wow, each dish wasn't beautifully presented from the Big Eye Tuna to the lobster and Pistachio Financier. The taste was very elegant. This place is great for couples as well as big groups. There's also a bar area with a real live piano player playing. This place also had the cold Vodka room if you wanted to try the experience.

My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Fifty Two 80 Bistro feels more like a bar/lounge than a bistro, at least during lunch. You'll find comfortable seats/sofas along with some high barstools. It has a laid back/seat yourself vibe. The word relaxing comes to mind as it's an inviting place après ski. 1 Star. Service - We stopped by for a lunch, and they weren't very busy. While our server was quite friendly, she did disappear on us once our meal was out. Not a big deal since we didn't have any additional request, but odd since it wasn't busy. We assumed she was on break, but since this is the Four Seasons, we expected at least one drop in before the bill. 1/2 Star. Food - It's mainly a bar menu that's par for the course. Their stone breads are like flat b read pizzas and were good. Their seafood chowder lacked spice, but it had tons of huge chucks of everything, from oysters, crab, and shrimp. We were satisfied but not impressed. Prices were on par with hotel restaurants, so it's not cheap. But it was certainly a good meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes...with a big asterisk. If I stay at the Four Seasons, no question I would go again. If not for the lunch, perhaps breakfast or a drink. But would I make this a destination if I stayed somewhere else? Unfortunately not. It's a good option for hotel guests, but that's it. 1/2 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score

As many were already sitting outside, on this wonderful summer day, we found a table, near the entrance to the main lounge area. We were quickly greeted by our server, I think his name was Joey, who asked for our names, and everytime he came by the table he would refer to us as Mr. and Mrs., classy I do say. This bistro is enclosed on the Four Seasons property, not as accesible as the one at the Fairmont, so you won't see many of the stragglers walking around right in front of you like you would at other hotel properties up in Whistler, there is a sense of privacy, calmness, which is sometimes needed as Whistler is a tourist trap, good thing there are places like this around. So we sat, under a big umbrella over our table, to cover some of those powerful rays, they brought over some popcorn in a small bowl (I guess this is a replacement for the nuts?) and presented us the menus. We decided on two nice fruity alcohlic drinks, one with a lychee on top (nice weather, tropical feel?). and the other was a berry variety. Our table constantly had two glasses of cold water filled and the cutlery was tucked nicely in the hand napkins. We did order food on our visit, and picked out their New York cut steak, served with salad on the side and also cremed spinach. Cooked, rare, we shared this steak, and the server, without even asking, brought two plates out and an extra cutting knife. The steak was prepared perfectly, I bet they were using the Sidecut in-house rubs, right down to the very end, sometimes you get to the end of a steak, it gets dry, not this thing, every bite, mouthwatering, even the fats in it, every bite, pure goodness. Served with a little sauce on the side, you really didn't need it, sure the steak isn't cheap, but I wouldn't say it was crazy expensive too, with the fresh greens on the side, and the creamy spinach, it was balanced, but also enough for me and my dear on this day. Our server came by a few times to check up on us, and still always curtiously always went by Mr. and Mrs. with the surname, quite impressed, but I guess this is the Four Seasons afterall. At the end of the meal when we asked for the bill, we had some credit from a prior visit we had not used, and we gave it to them, they eventually came back, with a small receipt on top of our card showing how much was on the card. We didn't know if they charged the card or not, and they did not, as they wanted to know what we wanted to do with this balance, to put all of it on the card, or use a partial portion. I find this very respectful, and also not assuming things on their end. For the drinks, the food, and the service, this one is a winner, and the next time I come back to Whistler and need somewhere quiet and relaxing, I'd come again.
