Crème brûlée and toffee pudding cake

We had a fantastic experience at Red Door Bistro. We enjoyed the Bistro Salad and Cambozola & Mushrooms appetizers, BC Salmon and Steak Frites for mains, paired with Pinot Grigio, and finished with Crème Brûlée and Toffee Pudding. Every dish was cozy, tasty, and perfectly prepared. Our waiter, Sean, was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. A truly memorable meal... we'll definitely be back!

I really enjoyed the food here during my visit. The plating was beautiful, the flavors pushed my palate and worked together all at the same time and the selection in the menu was brief but provided the right diversity. The pricing was about average for this area, although this entire area is going to be pricier than your normal place at home. It had an element of fine dining and wine bar as they have an extensive wine menu. While the wine is good, I wouldn't recommend getting anything outside of that from the bar as the cocktails were not great here. If you come here, expect to get a wine and a great dish. The service was friendly and they approached us a good amount of times. But with appetizers and entrees only our dining experience took over 2 hours, which felt too long for a dining experience where you are t doing multiple courses. I probably would visit again for the duck spring rolls

An absolute gem of a restaurant - we're so happy we booked a table here for our last night in Whistler! First off, the food was all amazing. The appetizers were perfectly balanced and very unique. We had the calamari and the cambozola & mushrooms, which were both delicious. For mains we had the short rib and bouillabaisse. The short rib was fall-apart tender and the seafood in the bouillabaisse was cooked perfectly. The key lime parfait was a perfect end to the meal. Only minor downside is that my virgin mojito was a bit weak (definitely could've been muddled more), but they have an expensive wine menu that more than makes up for it. The restaurant is small and cosy. In the summers most diners prefer to sit on the patio to enjoy the breeze but they also have indoor seating for the winter. A reservation is recommended due to the size of the restaurant. The staff are friendly and very helpful with menu recommendations. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough if you're in the area!

Cute and cozy little restaurant with excellent food and service. Our server Sean was very nice and pleasant, and he's very knowledgeable about the menu and gave good advice for ordering. The three of us ordered family style: A Basket of Bread, Duck Confit Egg Rolls (Sean suggested we order three because each order came with two), Nova Scotia Scallops, West Cost Bouillabaisse, New York Steak, and Vanilla Bean Cream Brûlées. Food was excellent, from the main ingredients to the fine details: the broth in the West Coast Bouillabaisse was boiled and reduced for days and was really tasty; the spring rolls had a lot of duck meat in a really crispy and flaky thin pastry; the Nova Scotia scallops came with a celery root purée with little lemon dumplings, pistachios, and pink lady apples; and even the roasted potatoes that came with the New York steak were really good. The Vanilla Bean Cream Brûlée at the end was a nice touch to complete the very satisfying meal. Prices were not cheap (and they did charge for bread) but reasonable. If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy a fine dinner, I do highly recommend the Red Door Bistro.

It's going to be difficult for me to find all the right words to convey how outstanding this experience was. First, I emailed the restaurant to ask about a reservation for our 20th wedding anniversary. They had no problem accommodating us. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and taken outside to the patio where glasses of complimentary prosecco were waiting for us and we were congratulated on our anniversary. (An aside - when we walked into the restaurant the inside was nearly empty - I assume because it was very hot outside and they probably do not have air conditioning. They had a red awning up over the patio area, which made for a nice outdoor area. After the sun went down enough, the awning was opened up and it allowed even more of a cooling breeze). I will admit I was concerned when they first walked us out because they sat us at one end of a long table, where a group of four was seated at the other end. My initial thought was, "we're here for our anniversary and we are going to be at a "family seating" table?" But not to worry, it was a great spot. We were far enough away from others that it felt private, but also close enough that we could spy what others were eating! Every single person we interacted with at the restaurant was amazing - kind, welcoming, professional. Our server was a total pro. He had been in the profession for decades and it was clear he knew what he was doing! For the rest of the ambiance, there was music playing at a medium volume, perfect to hear it, but no struggle to make conversation over the music. And the selection was such that my wife almost wondered if I had given them a playlist to play for her! Now, on to the most important aspect - the food. Let me first say that I spent hours trying to decide where to make a reservation for our anniversary. I scoured the reviews here, read travel/food blogs and reviews, looked through menus, etc. before landing on this place. I was really hoping all of that work would pay off, and boy did it ever! We had trouble to start with on selecting appetizers we might want. Our server helped us out with some questions. We settled on the Nova Scotia Scallops as one, and after some additional descriptions from the waiter also chose the Calamari. They were both amazing. The scallops themselves were creamy and the rest of the plate complimented them so well. The calamari was not breaded and fried, but pan seared instead and they were the best calamari I've ever had. My wife decided on the Braised Short Ribs for her main after our server's recommendation and I went with the Sakura Pork (prosciutto wrapped tenderloin). The pork came with a mustard sauce (the server gave us a full rundown of the process the chef goes through for the dish and it's crazy how much goes into it) that was unbelievably great. That entire dish was one of the very best dishes I have ever had anywhere. The only downside was that it was such a standout that my wife's excellent main paled a bit in comparison! The Sakura Pork is the highest recommendation I can give to anyone. For dessert we got the summer trifle and peanut butter bombe. Both were excellent. And I mean really excellent. Overall this dinner experience was one of, if not the, best meals I've ever had. The atmosphere, the service, and the food, oh my the food, was all outstanding. I only wish I could go back again and again! The meal was quite expensive, but factoring in the entire experience, it was very much worth it. Thank you for such an excellent evening. Bravo!

Desserts - trifle, flourless chocolate ganache, peanut butter bomb.

Top notch! Everything was perfectly executed and the service was great. There is a reason they have served duck confit spring rolls for over 30 years. Yum!

Okay, this is a must try if you want some high quality French food! Decided to take my bf here for his birthday. He ordered a steak that came with mushrooms, chino urti sauce and potatoes. Okay I didn't describe that perfect but it was fancier than just that. He absolutely loved it! I ordered the cod and the accompany flavors were amazing. Service here is great. They are attentive. You have to make a reservation ahead of time. Make your reservation a few weeks beforehand. The place is dark but it's part of the vibe.

Service was friendly and food was good. To start, we had the duck confit spring rolls and the scallops. Both dishes offered a unique combo of flavours that worked really well together. For our mains we had the wild boar and the duck breast. The portion for these entrees were decent but i'm not quite sure if it justifies the price. While the duck was tender and juicy, I found the boar to be a bit dry. Overall, we did enjoy our meal, however there was nothing exceptional about the food and our experience.

We tried a variety of dishes across both visits, and every single one was fantastic. The balance of flavors and the way different cultures are blended together is seriously impressive. Some standout dishes: the truffle ceviche was incredible, and the black tiger prawn causa had a sauce that was absolutely fantastic. The tallarín de marisco is a must-order, we loved it so much we ordered it twice. We also had the salmon anticucho and Colombian arepa, and everything was fire. Everything tasted fresh, well thought out, and perfectly executed. You can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. If you're visiting Whistler, Balam is a must-visit. The miso sesame dressing added depth without overpowering the beets, while the puffed grains gave it the perfect crunch. The nori, shiso, and hint of yuzu brought a subtle freshness that made the dish feel light yet layered. A stunning start. The cavatelli with fontina and 5g shaved black truffles was pure comfort but elevated. Rich, silky, and deeply savory, with the truffle aroma hitting you immediately. The focaccia and fresh herbs tied it all together -- indulgent without feeling heavy. The standout for me was the sablefish. Perfectly cooked -- buttery and flaky -- paired beautifully with turnip, radish, and maitake mushrooms. The roasted fish bone sauce was incredibly refined and packed with umami. Every bite felt intentional and balanced. And to finish, the sticky toffee pudding -- warm, decadent, and exactly what you want to end the night. Sweet, comforting, and unforgettable. Wild Blue blends refined technique with thoughtful ingredients. Definitely one of the highlights of dining in Whistler

It was a very disappointing experience. We haven't visited Whistler in years, I was looking forward…read moreto this trip because we had booked what I thought was the top rated restaurant there but boy was I ever wrong. Their geoduck and clam pasts tasted okay but the serving size was laughably small, 2 large bites to perhaps 4 small bites at best. The worst thing was the overcooked geoduck, they're basically large clams and anyone who's cooked and eaten clams will know that overcooked clams turn rubbery and the few bits of geoduck were as rubbery as a rubber duck. The same applies to their Roasted Ling Cod, unless you enjoy overcooked ling cod, avoid at all costs. Amongst our group we ordered 3 New Your Steaks, we ordered medium rare, to their credit they were all cooked a perfect medium rare. Trouble was they were all way over salted. Too much salt to make them enjoyable, frankly I've had much better steaks at Denny's. As part of their prix fixe menu they had smoked black cod which I normally enjoy. Here they mashed the black cod into a chip dip which they served with their house made potato chips, While the dip was okay as far as taste goes, the chips they served last week on Wednesday night were all stale, not yet rancid but definitely stale. If the manager is reading this, I suggest he take a few and taste them himself. Prices weren't out of line since this is a resort area and restaurant pretty much can count on a "captive" clientele. However value wise this place should not be anywhere near the top of your go-to list.
