My husband and I had the most incredible dining experience during our trip to Whistler! This was hands down one of the best meals we had during our entire trip. We opted for the three-course dinner, and every part of the experience exceeded our expectations. My scallop dish was absolute perfection, and everything was beautifully prepared. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only about the menu but also about the wine selection. He recommended glasses of wine that perfectly complemented each of our dishes, which really elevated the entire meal. What made the evening even more special was how thoughtful and attentive the team was in celebrating our anniversary. They went the extra mile to make us feel special, even bringing out a dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written on it. While not perfect, it's a darn good experience. The food is always prepared with excellence in mind and the attention to allergies is second to none. The dining room can be loud but if you get the right seating, it's very intimate and perfect for a date night out. Candidly I was disappointed. Such a build up and high praised but in reality it was fine. I don't have any complaints but I don't have any high praises either. Food was fine. Service was great. Ambiance was nice albeit a bit chilly. So while I can't find anything to pinpoint I also can't say that our dining experience of $400 for 5 people (no alcohol!) was worth it. An amazing meal! The hostess was so welcoming, and our server provided wonderful service. The salmon crostini starter was delicious. The standout dish for me was the lobster & saffron spaghettoni (a bit rich and creamy but good), along with the incredible gem lettuce caesar. We were sat in a lovely cozy booth near a fire place which worked well for me as I currently have a broken leg and it was easy to navigate! Service was exceptional throughout as was the food! I came here with my group during my stay at Whistler and the food here was one of the best! We came as a group of 9 so my friend called to make a reservation ahead of time. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful with making my choices. I got the lobster + saffron spaghetti and it was amazing! The citrus note was pretty strong but I think it actually helps with the creaminess of the dish. The lobster was fresh and yummy. My partner got the rigatoni bolognese, and I thought it was just okay. The rigatoni was actually quite heavy so it was difficult to finish. I was in Whistler for conference and so I made reservations at some of the restaurants recently recognized as among the best in Whistler according to Vancouver magazine. It included Il Caminetto. We had dinner reservations for 7pm. We arrived early but they gladly seated us early. It was midweek, so they had space. It's a sleek, modern space. I wouldn't expect less from a Top Table Group restaurant. I had looked up the prix fixe menu on their website before arriving, and I noticed was different than what was presented when we arrived. The online menu was $44 and had four courses, but the one presented to us was $49 for 3 courses. Still a fantastic deal. I noted that the website did update 2 days later to match. I tried the following: - Octopus - Excellent. It was the soffritto and white bean puree that are the real stars of this dish. - Beet and Burrata Insalata - Very good. I'm not much of a beet person, but the vinaigrette made the beets surprisingly good. - Duck Breast - Very good. Duck was cooked just to the right doneness. - Tagliatelle Bolognese - Very good. Pasta was the perfect texture. Sauce was delicious. - Lemon Bomba - Good. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was very happy with it. - Tiramisu - Very good. I could taste a little more liqueur was used than in most recipes Service was solid. No issues. Overall, a very good experience. Very good quality food, string service at incredible prix fixe value. We came in November and tried their Prix fixe menu. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. (Especially the tiramisu!) We wish the hummus came with bread. I had a glass of rose and it was ok. The Caesar that my bf ordered was very spicy. Maybe we should have sent it back. The dinner took rather long as it took 2 hours for us to be served 4 courses. They offered us bread in between courses and we appreciated that. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful and good for couples. It was a little loud but there were lots of families dining as well. Everything we had at Il Caminetto tasted amazing. The flavors really stood out. We sat at the bar and our bartender was great: very helpful and genuinely fun to chat with. Loved learning that some dishes can be ordered as half portions, which is perfect for trying more items or small appetites. We came for carb loading our first night in Whistler. The menu has lots of other options, but especially with kids, we focused on the pastas. They start you with house bread: sourdough or focaccia. The sourdough had a good chew on the inside, and the kids loved the focaccia. Cocktails: - Prosciutto d'or: whisky washed with prosciutto, honey, amaro nonino gran reserva, cocchi vermouth bianco - Casa di nocciola: rum based, with hazelnut and Cointreau - like an Italian tiki drink Food: - Grilled Humboldt squid: with cannellini beans, nduja, cabbage, fennel, cabbage - like grilled squid steaks but with tons of flavor in the sauce, which was the highlight for me - Rigatoni bolognese: good for kids, generous on the beef - Lobster + saffron spaghettoni: we actually doubled up on this one. Local nova scotia lobster, white wine, cream, snap peas, calabrian chilies, lemon pangrattato - Sautéed rapini: some much needed greens They also have a kids' menu, which has stuff like a steak tenderloin, Caesar salad, rigatoni bolognese, and a really hot deal of a gelato for only $5.50 Canadian. The portions were generous for the kids! Service was friendly, and it had upscale but not snooty vibes (the heated outdoor seating area is a bit more casual). Ambiance was great and the service was friendly. Located in a cute village and you have to walk there from parking about a 5-10 minute walk depending which garage you parked at. Food was okay. Honestly I wasn't super wowed but it was still good. I don't believe the price point was worth it (TO ME) but you're paying for the environment and white glove service. Why wasn't the price point worth it? For $39.5 you get ground beef wagyu rigatoni, which in my opinion is not worth it because the point of wagyu is the marbling and steak aspect. What is sold as wagyu is almost certainly just trimmings and other cuts of beef that cannot be turned into steaks. Of course this isn't the fault of the restaurant but the point is just comparing price to what you receive. We did the $49 three course menu for two and ordered a few supplement items, and the bill came out to ~$180. The server did fail to mention that the sparkling water was an extra cost, and we were charged $19 for two bottles of Pellegrino. Also quite stingy on bread. You will receive one square of bread (lol). The service did take a bit longer than usual. We finished dinner in 2 hours for people who can usually leave a restaurant in 30 minutes (we eat fast because we move fast). The dessert was excellent however! read more

One of those meals you think about for a while after you leave. The lobster linguine is to die for!! Every dish was such a treat to enjoy and a lovely combination of flavors. Servers were attentive and gave great recommendations and insights. Definitely book a reservation beforehand. Small warning that even with a reservation, we did wait more than 10 minutes to be seated but we did go during a busy dinner rush. Highly recommend and hope to visit again. read more

We had a frutti di mare, a lobster linguine, and a mushroom risotto to share and they were all amazing. Pastas and risotto were cooked to perfection and the seafoods were fresh. Incredibly stylish while cozy at the same time. An entire page dedicated to negronis in the cocktail book. Expansive wine list with a very helpful somm (shout out to Quintin!) Lots of variety in the menu; was hard to choose as everything looked amazing. The salmon crudo was one of the best we've ever had, and the lobster fettucine is to-die-for. Veal cheeks and eggplant parm were both prepared to perfection, as were the bomba and bodino desserts. Last but not least, our server Joe was nothing short of fantastic. Came here for thanksgiving (US) dinner with some friends on a vacation together and the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! We each ordered off of the prix fix menu so we could order an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Everything was outstanding. The service was also outstanding. The ambiance was intimate and felt cozy. Me and my man were actually admiring the decor and the design of the inside of the restaurant. We just thought is was really nice and modern. I ordered the gnocchi, mushroom risotto, and tiramisu for dessert. I love risotto, and not every restaurant knows how to properly cook risotto. Il Caminetto prepared it perfectly. There was so much yummy flavor in the food. We had a really enjoyable dinner experience here. I wish the tiramisu was not so large because I wanted to eat all of it/take it home, but I was so full! If you are looking for a comforting meal in Whistler, I would definitely book a reservation here. It seems to be quite popular, and I can see why! The ultimate fancy Italian dinning has a low lighting intimate dining experience. With white table clothes and a high end modern decor one can tell the experience will be top notch. In the middle of all the village it's best to make reservations because it gets very busy and books up fast. Everything on we order was very delicious I truly enjoyed the Bolognese and Lobster Saffron Linguine. The menu has a great variety of options and everything sounds great. Also have a great wine list. I wasn't sure what to expect of the restaurants in Whistler Village since usually these "resort" area establishments are mediocre. I was so happy to have wasted concern here. From the initial warm greeting at the entrance (although the 17 was miffed when hostess immediately asked if she wanted a kids menu lol) to dessert, service was timely. It was a full house with some large parties so I expected to wait a while between our Prix Fixe courses. Teen ended up getting just bowl of Minestrone, and the server was considerate to ask if she wanted it to be served when our mains came out. The food was excellent and the portions are on the large side for a 4 course Prix Fixe dinner. This was an excellent way to end our daytrip ziplining in Whistler. read more

The absolute BEST service i've ever had at a restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. I 100% will be dining again.

It's very hard to get reservations and there were few opportunities for walk in this season (last season if we came early, they sometimes would let us in). I think they open at 4:30 or 4:45 on one side of the restaurant, and even with that earlier seating, they're still fully booked! I was a little disappointed this year but this place is still one of my more favorite spots in Whistler. Service felt a little more rushed and cold this time, but it was fine. Food-wise: Kids had steak and butter pasta. Both were good - somehow the butter pasta was the bigger hit. Kids minestrone soup portion is huge but kids didn't love it because the vegetables are very hard in it - you can tell it's fresh veggies because they don't cook it down until the veggies are soft. I wouldn't get it for kids again unless i'm with kids who like hard crunchy vegetables. Also, side note, the minestrone soup tastes like it is loaded with cheese. I wish it didn't have so much cheese. Chicken Saltimbocca: WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. THE CHICKEN WAS PERFECTLY COOKED. THE FLAVORS. Wow so good. Even the brussel sprouts with it were so good. This sounds like a boring dish but it was lick the plate so good. Lobster saffron pasta: lobster was PERFECTLY cooked. Pasta tasted a little fishy Rigatoni with pomodoro sauce: perfect, no real tartness, smooth Bolognese: I didn't care for it. Too meaty, very one note meat. Lasagna: I didn't like the clove flavor in the meat and it had huge chunks of spinach to note: I paid to add on black truffles and they were TERRIBLE. It tasted old and stale. There was no truffle essence. I don't know if this was just a bad batch of truffles but I would not order truffles here again unless they could confirm that they got fresh truffles. I have visited a restaurant that specializes in truffles and I always wondered what they meant about they get the best and freshest truffles, but now I know that truffles can be bad. It's very nice inside but not everyone is dressed up and they don't seem to mind. We had kids with us and we weren't the only one. But we did go at 4:45. I'd guess at later seatings maybe there are fewer kids. Oh yeah the maple bacon old fashioned is tasty! I would definitely visit again but if there's no reservations I don't think I'll try as hard as before. read more

The food is incredible. The steak Florine is incredible (and the sides that come with it are so good) and so is the ragù pasta. Their apps with the salami and cheese are both good. The service from our waitress was great but the hostesses are a little abrasive. You also can't even get a drink at the bar if you're waiting for your table. I would definitely go back. read more

Decided to return here after a disappointing first visit last year. Last year the dishes we ordered were a bit bland and overwhelming (cauliflower steak and a pasta dish) but we decided to give it another shot during $43 prix fixe week and am so glad we did. The initial person's attitude seemed to change when she realized we just wanted water vs wine...speaking of, they offer both still and sparkling water to start (wish they would have clarified sparkling water was an extra $9.50 since not all restaurants charge for this). Anyways, the menu had lots to choose from which is great. For 1st course, we got hummus (super creamy but could have used more items to scoop it up with), tomato crostoni (delicious flavors, yummy bread but a little heavy w the green spread). 2nd course: mushroom risotto (soo good with lots of chunks of mushroom throughout!), burrata and beet salad (loved this too. Light, great flavors and good contrast to the heavier items). 3rd course: salmon + octopus (was supposed to be branzino) was delicious and cooked well. I suspect branzino would have been lighter than the salmon and therefore better w the sauce but everything was still good. Chicken and pork jowl w Brussel sprouts was delicious!! Super flavorful and complimented each other in texture and flavors. 4th course: tiramisu (perfect and amazing!!! Cake was soaked in rum with yummy layers of marscapone and bits of crunchy chocolate on the top. So yum) and petit fours (it was nice to try different items but wasn't as impressed with these). I brought two of my friends here based on the reviews! It didn't disappoint and my friends and I left very happy with the experience. Even though Whistler area was off season, the restaurant was packed. Even though we didn't have reservations, we were sat pretty quickly. Our server, Steven, was really awesome. He answered all our questions and was very friendly. We chose 4 course meal and it was definitely a bang for your buck. It was a lot of food for $43 CAD. We were able to choose one dish each Cicchetti, Antipasti, Secondi and Dolci. Loved the interior of the restaurant. It was romantic, clean and classy. The next course we had the minestrone and the mushroom risotto. These both had very good flavor but were so rich. I should have stopped there! I had the polenta and couldn't even finish half of it. Luckily our room had a microwave so my husband was able to eat it the next day. He had the halibut which I tried and was very fresh. For the dessert I made some room for the Hazelnut Bomba. A near perfect experience that took the sting off the price. We walked up without a reservation and got on the waiting list for patio seating. They texted 45 minutes later when a table opened up and we had the most pleasant and lovely waiter. My husband's halibut special was so good he had a difficult time putting his fork down between bites. The real winner was my rigatoni pomodoro. Such a simple dish and executed to perfection. Exactly what I was looking for. A large bowl of noodles with a textbook pomodoro perfectly coating them. The best pomodoro I've ever had in a restaurant.
