Quattro was by far our best meal in Whistler and really the best meal we have had in a very long time. The concierge at our hotel recommended Quattro and we decided to give it a try on our first night in town. Many restaurants in Whistler have specials if you are traveling in the shoulder season, which is just as winter season has closed and summer season begins. Lucky for us it was shoulder season. The restaurant had a special four course menu in addition to the regular menu. We decided to give the three course choices a try and then we added a wine pairing with each course. The ambiance was comfortable and cozy. We sat next to the window and had a nice view. The restaurant is a bit formal, but not stuffy. We were in jeans and nice shirts and were fine. The restaurant was pretty packed, and our server was still very attentive. So let's get started on the food. We started with a bread basket which is an additional charge. It was served with butter and olive oil with balsamic. The olive oil was incredible, nice and grassy. Mr. B chose the ahi tuna tartare bruschetta. The tuna was perfectly diced and was consistent sizes which is hard to do. For his second course he had the crab bisque paired with a nice chilled rose wine. For his main he chose the house special Tagliatelle with house made eight hour Bolognese. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the Bolognese was rich and full of Italian flavors. The wine pairing for this course was a lovely Rosa Toscana wine. For his fourth and final course he choice the Budino al Cioccolato, a caramelized brown butter chantilly cream and brownie bits. and it was creamy with crunchy bits on top. This dessert was paired with a nice Moscato. I started with the Truffle Arancini. Who doesn't love truffle and fried rice balls. The truffle flavor was there, not overpowering which I appreciate and the rice was tender and it was fried and seasoned extremely well. For my second course I had a lovely crisp Caesar Salad to cut the richness of the Arancini and it was paired with a very nice Barbera wine. For my main course I chose the Fusilli with Truffles which our server said is the most popular dish and I understand why. The fusilli was tender with a bite to it, the sauce was creamy and truffle was there. The Rosa Toscana paired nicely with this dish, and for my dessert I had to go with the Limoncello Panna Cotta. It was perfectly set, with a really nice and fresh Limoncello flavor to it and the Moscato paired perfectly. We are still talking about this meal and how much we loved each dish. No it wasn't inexpensive, our meals with the wine pairing was about $200, but I don't regret it, it was amazing. read more

Came here for a group dinner of 8 ppl with a fixed menu. We had a private room in the back. First impressions: the restaurant is old school but classy, not too formal. Food: meatballs - 3 tiny bites in a bit of sauce. Very very mediocre and tiny portion. 2.5/5. Halibut - fish nicely cooked, sides were too salty and were not a good pairing with the halibut. Tiramisu - flavourless and too sweet. Big portion though. Value - considering their pricing of these items, it's outrageous. WAY overpriced for this very mediocre quality of food. Service - superficially nice but too many mistakes. We asked for chili flakes - they forgot. We ordered a side of Asparagus - also forgot. They also got lazy with refilling our drinks after halfway through the meal. Bathroom - clean enough, nothing spectacular. I would not recommend or ever come back here. There is much better food available at this price point in Whistler. read more

going downhill i'm afraid....where do i start? turn down the lights...try ambiance, it works....walked in to find front desk turning away a party of 4 from seattle to another restaurant...meanwhile restaurant was 1/2 empty for 90 minutes we were there...huh? "bar backed up"....if i owned this place and anyone ever uttered those words they would be gone...get drinks on table asap...very high margin and one drink leads to another and more ordering....restaurant mgmt 101... food ridiculously overpriced....$35-60 entrees...pasta has little to no meat in it.....bland...al dente so hat tip for that as its rare even in highe-end places.....bread $12 for 6 slices, bread on cold side....dollop of butter....oil w/ eyedrop of balsamic... service....slow, glum-faced.....why?....waiter disappears until check (late in coming).....had to ask for pepper....not one employee asked if we wanted more wine...again, as owner, i'm firing people for that. 3rd annual visit tonight will be my last....place has potential but squandering it. read more

Great cocktails and great pasta. I'd recommend getting their spaghetti because it is different from your garden/regular style variety sauce. Lobster ravioli was ok, but not worth the price point for 6~ pieces. Bolognese was decent but the spaghetti and meatball was definitely the star of the show. Simple yet new and different. Service was great, very timely and responsive staff. Large dining area perfect for large groups and families. We went on a Sunday night around 6 pm during MLK weekend (which we kept hearing is one of the busiest times with all the university students coming up!). We did not have reservations, but the hostess said she had a high top and the bar available to us. We took the bar (we love talking to the bartenders -- they always have the coolest recommendations for local area and at the restaurant!). Our bartenders, Ollie and Lachie were the absolute BEST. They stayed busy but we still had such a great time talking with them; all of our drinks and food were insanely good. Came out in perfect time, and we just had such a phenomenal experience -- was truly a night out and not just "grabbing dinner." HIGHLY recommend getting the AMBER VEIL and make it SPICY!! 10000/10. Thank us later. We had the radicchio bocconcini, murgella burrata, fusilli tartufati, spaghetti Quattro and a 5 oz wagyu, tiramisu and the cannolis. We eat a lot of Italian. And this was not only the best meal we had on or Whistler trip; it is easily top 3 of Italian meals we've eaten. Their spring 4/$44 is a steal. My partner and I shared each course. 1- fried polenta and arugula with Burrata, 2- Wagyu meatballs and Cesar, 3 - bolognese and risotto, 4 - chocolate cup and conolli. Each bite was delicious! In addition she tried to talk us out of the Whistler Dine Out menu, stating it was not much food and only meant for locals in the industry. She recommended strongly that we order à la carte. my main concern is the quality of the steak they state is 'striploin'. Typically this would refer to a NY steak with reasonable thickness and quality. Quattro fails on both. It appears more like a 'hangar' steak thinness and quality. And for 69 dollars, it is poor. Service fine for Xmas time given volume. Sea bass nothing great either. read more

Solid Italian restaurant at Whistler where it was fairly easy to snag a reservation for a large group. This does not mean that Quattro is a second tier restaurant. To be honest, the sampler plate, containing something like ten different items, was considered by many members of my group to be some of the most exciting high-end Italian food that they had ever had. I share this view. Later courses were delayed significantly which resulted in some items being comped, the auto-gratuity being removed from the bill, and a free round of drinks. If we weren't so exhausted on the last night of the trip, I would have said that the staff overcompensated. Though the menu looks limited at first glance, there is a lot of variety especially if you attempt to eat a pasta course followed by a protein. I had the tagliatelle followed by the cornish hen and was impressed. My group also shared the large format steak. Quattro transcends "ski resort" Italian and is, plainly, a great Italian restaurant at a price point that anyone from the US will find to be reasonable. read more

This place is very adorable and way bigger than it looks on the outside! For the most part, we had a wonderful dinner! However, it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant! The staff was so kind and could tell we were cold and said the heat was all the way up (mentioned it's an old building and it was very cold outside) however all the other restaurants we went to over the weekend managed to keep the inside much warmer. I had my huge winter puffy jacket on the whole time which made it difficult to eat. For me, the menu was limited in what I would eat but what we did order was delicious! Personally I would probably not come back but that's just because I found other restaurants to have a wider menu variety. Nothing wrong with the food we got. Kind of pricey, we ordered a buffalo mozzarella and crostini for like $25 and got maybe the equivalent of half a slice of bread with maybe 1oz of cheese. The beet salad was good & I ordered the mushroom truffle with a different type of noodle; it was delicious and quite rich. I'm glad we went but likely would not return. read more

The food was good... They seem to cater to Hells Angels on the day we were there... I've had a bad experience in the past, but thought I'd give them a second chance... There were 7 of us and I expect an automatic tip to be added... The automatic tip was 20%, plus another added tax called EHB which was another 2% or something... I was willing to pay an 18% tip and get rid of the EHB,.. I know the server has no say in it, so I asked to speak to the manager... He came and just shrugged his shoulders, dismissing my argument... Needless to say, I will never be back... The food was good, but overpriced, even for Whistler, and then to add on the nickle and dime extras, forget it... I don't really care if it's on the menu, I decide the tip, not them. read more

There're some many restaurant choices in Whistler and we chose Quattro as we haven't dine here for quite some time. We had 2 pasta dishes, Linguine Pescatore and Pappardelle Bolognese, they were both delicious and of good portion. It was a busy night and the restaurant was packed with tourists and groups. The only issue I had with our visit was the service. The server assistance dropped off the two entrees and walked off without a word. Typically we would expect to be asked if we required anything else such as freshly grate Parmigiano-Reggiano or pepper. We waited and waited for the server to come by while our pasta dishes were getting cold. Finally he came and we asked for pepper but he didn't offer the cheese. Fine dining restaurant should be about good food and great service but this one failed us big time. No matter how well the kitchen did, it didn't matter as the delivery was poor. We came here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, as my parents had told me it's really good. The lobby is STUNNING and a great place for photos. I had made our reservation well in advance online and indicated in doing so that it was for our anniversary (they ask if it's for a special occasion). We were greeted and seated promptly. They have coat check which is nice. When being seated, the hostess also asked if it was a special occasion so I again mentioned that it was our anniversary. Our waiter, Tristan, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and very friendly and attentive. We were offered still or sparkling water- I chose sparkling. I assumed both were complimentary so was very shocked to see a $9 charge on our bill after the fact! He should have mentioned this is an extra charge. For drinks between the two of us we had: the mint and honey infused sour, the Jamaican snowstorm, and an espresso martini. All were absolutely delicious. For food we had: the carpaccio to start, the gnocchi, and linguine pescatore, and tiramisu. The carpaccio is one of the best I've had- everything it was paired with made perfect sense and we ate every last bit of it. The downside is is apparently it usually only comes with one small piece of toast. Our waiter offered to add extra for us, but this ended up only being two other small pieces for a $7 up charge. Both pastas were very tasty however the gnocchi was quite bland unless eaten with some of the blue cheese it comes with. Both portions were a little small for the price point. For dessert we had the tiramisu which was perfection- highly recommend. Since I had been asked twice if it was a special occasion, I expected our waiter to say something and possibly offer a complimentary dessert or something as is usually the custom at a higher end place. However, it was only AFTER I paid and mentioned this again directly to our waiter that he became aware. Apparently no one had conveyed this to him! As soon as he became aware he offered us each a complimentary glass of Prosecco which was very nice and made us actually feel special- I only wish I didn't have to say something to him myself. I expected the staff to be more on top of that. Overall: the food was decent but not mind blowing, and the surprise up-charges and lack of communication between staff left a bad impression. However, the cocktails are delicious and the atmosphere is unique. So when deciding whether to come here, it depends on what you value most. read more

Our first dinner at Quattro as we have heard of its fame as the best Italian restaurant in Whistler. Food was good, especially the wild boar which was cooked to perfection with plenty of crusty finger potatoes and some veggies as a complete main course. Another good dish was the Carpaccio with quail eggs soft boiled and aesthetically presented. The disappointment came with the Beet salad with Ricotta cheese which had only 6 tiny bits of red & yellow beets. We understood it's appy salad, but really expected more at $27. Another hiccups came with the bread basket which the server dumped the basket at our table, and bread was cold, not room temperature. My order of a glass of Rose took 20 minutes and actually I reminded the server to bring the drink, not sure if they would do if I haven't asked. Finally, the desserts of Budino and Panna Cotta were a bit too sweet, but the presentation were good. Our waiter was a senior gentleman who was professional and experienced. We brought our in-laws to Whistler for the weekend. We had never been to Quattro but thought we'd try it. It did not disappoint. We had the prosciutto, bread/pane basket, and the burrata with tomatoes to start - they were all delicious. Then we had the linguini vongole (daily special), the gnocchi with pesto and the pappardelle bolognese. Linguini and gnocchi were excellent. Sorry but the pasta dishes here are pretty terrible. We came here for dinner one night and ordered several pasta dishes to share. 2 of us shared the pasta sampler which included 5 different kinds of pasta dishes. Unfortunately, all 5 were uneatable. First, the pasta was stiff, and obviously bought from some store dried and pre-packaged. I can taste the difference between freshly made and pre-made, and these were ALL pre-made and pre-dried, recooked and served. For the price I paid, that was pretty awful. Second, all of the pasta dishes had no flavor and no sauce on them, it was just like eating plain pasta. There was no substance at all. For $60, I could have cooked it myself for $5. Service was nice, the only thing preventing me from a 1 star review. The food is absolutely not eatable. Do NOT recommend at all. read more

Came here with my colleagues during our team offsite with around 20 people. Got seated in the private room in the back and they took our coats, which is +1 on the service. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating. We had a menu that looked like a prixe fixe, so i ordered the mushroom risotto, beef tenderloin and the gelato. We started with red and white wine and the waitress came into check on us often to make sure things were all okay - i bet it's hardly easy waitressing for a large party. - Mushroom risotto: this dish caught my eye because of the white truffle oil! To my surprise, the dish lacked truffle flavor and was bland :( luckily they added pepper and cheese, which kind of helped. - Beef Tenderloin: juicy and cooked perfectly (medium rare) however it didn't taste any different or special than another place with beef tenderloin. Not a bad pick though, but not impressionable. - Tagliatelle vegano: this was my coworkers dish and i got to try some and it was delicious for vegan. The portion was huge and flavor was great. Highly suggest for vegetarians & vegans. - Spaghetti Quattro: always a safe choice and even has a kick of spice to it that isn't too much. Tasty and also a good choice. Overall, not very impressionable meals, but not bad either; it's safe. Thankful for the patient waitresses and waiters that provided awesome service. read more

Peeps, I'm struggling with this one. I feel like with a few tweaks, this could have easily been a 4 or 5 star experience. At the end of the day, when you're heading out for eats in Whistler, you have a lot of great options to consider and of all the places I've eaten (and there have been many), Quattro hit the "A-OK" but not the Yay! I'm a fan! A few days later, here's my lingering thoughts: 1. Quattro - Just do a proper Italian five course if you're going to do it rather than trying to force your prix fixe into a standard three. The problem with the three courses is that it doesn't feel complete. With a starter and two huge second courses (with no dessert) it didn't feel like it had flow. Usually you've got your starter, primi, secondi, main, dessert. And usually the portions are scaled a little better, timed a little slower, to allow you to linger. In this case, we were positively stuffed after a starter and some pasta, never mind moving to the meat. And it all came out super fast. I can handle five courses, scale it down and follow protocol for these things. 2. Food quality and flavour wasn't bad but I have to say that the Spaghetti Quattro was just.. well, weird. The black beans were awkward to fit with my spaghetti. Interesting idea to bring black beans into pasta (pasta fagioli is a thing, after all) but shape of pasta matters and trying to wrap spaghetti around a bean is tough. Perfect for a Penne, Rigatoni, or Orecchiette, This was very much a quasi-souped up aglio olio that fell short (though I do believe there were some Calabrian chilies in there, quite a nice application I'll steal for myself. If you have to get one thing, get the damn meatball. It's a huge meal on it's own and was certainly a highlight. 3. The restaurant is huge and was mostly empty (eek!) but people were seated on top of eachother. #awkward. I will say that the service and ambiance were an easy four star and you're getting this review from a person who happily prepares fresh pasta at home and is a stickler around it. There's a reason we rarely head out for Italian. So I'm a tough one on the food and menu design. Others would likely have been wowed. read more

Went to dinner at Quattro tonight with my family and friends, and the service was amazing!! They immediately sat us down for our reservation and took our coats. Our server was an angel who constantly made sure we were doing all right and having a good time. The Italian food is good (not out of this world), but I'm giving a 5/5 because of how great the staff was. I also came here a few years back, so it was good enough to come back to. If you want to treat yourself while in Whistler, BC this is one place that will work. Make reservations and ask for a fire place, they have a couple around the restaurant which makes for a total ski resort feel. A thought the same management group as the 4th location in Vancouver... there is no comparison, this location has its own special ambiance, appeal and unique service not to mention the amazing Italian dining. The pasta dishes are not over priced but it is an upper end restaurant. The whole experience here is special and its true Italian, try the tapa platter as well.
