Terrible photo, but the decor is so cute!

This place is a VIBE. The decor is adorable. The music is perfect. It's like being at a beach club, but elevated. It could very easily be tacky, but somehow, it isn't. The cocktails are fantastic. They are perfectly mixed, and they have a variety of flavors as well as mocktails. I got the Pasilla Later, Pal, which was perfectly smoky a with a balanced sweetness. The food is also outstanding. I got the duck, which comes with rice (cooked like paella), mushrooms, and carrot purée which was so tender and flavorful I couldn't stop eating it! We tried both the tres leches cake and the frambuesa. While both food, the frambuesa was incredible. It's light, lightly sweet, and so fresh. It was like biting into an airy, fresh berry. The service was great. Our waters were refilled many times, which we needed after a long day on the slopes. Our waitress checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. Definitely try Balam. It is so good, I have no notes.

It was a busy Friday night in the village but we still got so lucky with getting a table outside since it is first come first serve. The vibe was EXCELLENT and we were very warm thanks to the heaters. We decided to go family style and get a few plates and I'm very glad we did. Starting with the truffle ceviche was such a good call. That was so unique and fresh - I'll be thinking about this dish for a while. The food was so so good. I have had a lot of authentic Latin food, and I'm very shocked and how I found a great spot to my liking in Whistler. Definitely pricey but a must try if you are in the area.

Pricey, but always such a unique and flavorful culinary experience. The foods here are always delicious and interesting with amazing presentation. My friends weren't able to get a reservation as they are so busy, but we were able to get on the waiting list around 5pm and got two separate tables for 4 ppl each in less than 30min! Idk if that's the norm or we got very lucky. We got outdoor seats but there are heaters to keep you somewhat warm. But seats farther from heaters can be a bit chilly. I had the squid ink pasta which was amazing, and we tried a bunch of appetizers for the table to share that were all delicious - see photos!

Loved this restaurant! From the moment you walk in, the decor is on point. It is absolutely beautiful from the ceiling greenery to the textures used on the walls to the booth seating to even the outdoor area. Then, the food was incredible - loved everything we ordered from the guacamole to the tacos to the arepas. The service was excellent and our server was so energetic and welcoming. Everyone was very helpful, including those who kept our water glasses full after a dehydrated ski day. Would absolutely recommend.

Excellent latino-american restaurant in Whistler. Balam has a great menu. I can recommend the prix fixe curated feast for 40 $. It is a 3 course menu where you can add dessert for 8 $. The first two courses are pre-set, you only get to choose the third course. All was very tasty with lots of different flavours. Our cocktails were very nice as well. Clearly a place we will come back too next time when go to Whistler.

Very vibrant and colorful interior. My friends and I visited Balam for lunch on a weekend and it wasnt busy. The service was fast and attentive. Truffle ceviche was packed with flavors- tangy with a little kick. Peruvian corn brioche was also phenomenal. Bisteak a la parrilla was amazing as well and it came with 3 different dressings and they were all equally good. My only complain with the steak dish is that it was served lukewarm/cold. The Brazilian creamsicle was very refreshing as well.

Balam Whistler is Latin American restaurant with great ambience, it was nicely decorated with amazon rainforest type. We sat on patio table and enjoyed view of Whistler village. What we ordered: Nikkei ceviche - Tuna scallop calamari ponzu rocoto tiger's milk, Columbia beef arepa - flaky corn dough, frank steak , chipotle, avocado sauce, Burnos aires churrasco - 11oz Canadian bavette medium rare, arigentinian chimichurri, Loche squash puree, Picarones - Peruvian donuts made with pumpkin and sweet potatoes with chancasa syrup. Cream Mate(Non alcohol) -Brewed yerba mate , cardamon and salted cream. Ceviche was very very spicy. After First bite , the spice came later which last very long. It was a bit too strong for me, Seafood was good. Arepa was delicious! frank steak and avocado chipotle sauce paired so well, corn dough was great, too. Highlight was Churrasco!! I had this steak at Mexico and could not forget how good it was. The difference was squash puree. The texture was so light and paired with steak and chimchurri so well! so good! So delicious! Peruvian donuts was good, I like it with syrup. Dough texture was a bit chewy and a bit dense. Cream Mate(Non alcohol) was mate tea with subtle cardamon flavor, nice to have it mixing well with salted cream. So delicious! Oveall, I really enjoyed their meal and ambience. I will recommend this place and will revisit !

I don't know why we haven't gone here before. The menu pulled us in but the decor was its own feast for the eyes. I loved all the attention to detail and feeling like I'm eating under a beautiful tree with colorful lighting. The food was amazing. Arrepas, truffle ceviche... we had beautiful and delicious cocktails that were art on their own! Service was attentive and so proactive. She watched and then just seemed to know what we were thinking. We will be back for dinner next time!

Araxi has always been to us - the best restaurant in Whistler - until now - move over Araxi, there is a new best and it is Balam! Located in the former Basalt space, this is an absolutely stunning restaurant with beautiful interior, excellent patio with village views and delicious food. Service was fantastic throughout, we began with cocktails and they have an extensive and innovative list. The it was on to Guacamole and their ceviches for appetizers! All amazing but for me their truffle ceviche is one of my all time top dishes anywhere and we had to order a second ! Granted I will eat cardboard if doused in truffle but this was exceptional!! Everything was fresh, flavorful and just a truly great bite. Then we tried some of their hot dishes - Salmon Anticucho and Black Tiger Prawn Causa - both delicious and we rounded out the meal with their Picarones - a Peruvian donut which was delicious, light and fluffy!! A fantastic meal and I will definitely return here again and again!

This place is beautifully decorated and their food is super creatively plated. We got the guacamole with homemade taro chips to start, which were super tasty. For my main, I ordered the duck confit which fell right off the bone. It was super flavorful and I loved the rice and veggies that came with it. Would highly recommend this dish! We also ordered yuca fries, but they took a super long time to get to our table. They were pretty yummy but covered in a bunch of sauce, that I would've liked less of. We also got the cauliflower dish which was super tasty! It comes with a whole cauliflower head and is perfect for vegetarians. I was quite surprised there were no reservations online, but we were able to walk in and plenty of tables were open - not so sure what's up with that. And it's a bit pricy, but comparable to other places in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot in Whistler village if you're looking for some solid main dishes.

Great bites to share family style. Recommend getting the steak and the duck. Service was superb - they were very accommodating with our table's food allergies and you could tell all the staff were well experienced. Smaller interior with a few booths, tables, and bar seating. Outdoor seating with fire and heaters as well. Reservations highly recommended.

    Truffle Ceviche with Hamachi fish

Interior design was on point, they were also flexible with us and allowed us to modify our reservation to the next day. The iberico pork tacos weren't particularly spectacular, the flavor just wasn't quite there. The Colombian beef arepa was delicious, hard to eat as a hand held so we just scooped from the bowl using a fork The ribeye was cooked well and the pureed squash was very creamy. The fermented butter along with the brioche buns were unexpectedly sweet, the bread was extremely fluffy and delicious. The duck dish had a great combo of vegetables, and rice. The favorite for the table was the truffle ceviche with hamachi fish.

We stopped in here near the end of the ski day for happy hour. Perfect location in the village for a quick ski break for heading back up the gondola. We only tried items on their happy hour menu, but we were very impressed with the drinks (pisco sour and margarita) and especially the small plates -- the salmon was my favorite with the chicken thigh as a close second. Very fun ambiance and their outdoor seating is complete with many heaters and blankets for chillier evenings.

The miso sesame dressing added depth without overpowering the beets, while the puffed grains gave it the perfect crunch. The nori, shiso, and hint of yuzu brought a subtle freshness that made the dish feel light yet layered. A stunning start. The cavatelli with fontina and 5g shaved black truffles was pure comfort but elevated. Rich, silky, and deeply savory, with the truffle aroma hitting you immediately. The focaccia and fresh herbs tied it all together -- indulgent without feeling heavy. The standout for me was the sablefish. Perfectly cooked -- buttery and flaky -- paired beautifully with turnip, radish, and maitake mushrooms. The roasted fish bone sauce was incredibly refined and packed with umami. Every bite felt intentional and balanced. And to finish, the sticky toffee pudding -- warm, decadent, and exactly what you want to end the night. Sweet, comforting, and unforgettable. Wild Blue blends refined technique with thoughtful ingredients. Definitely one of the highlights of dining in Whistler

Their geoduck and clam pasts tasted okay but the serving size was laughably small, 2 large bites to perhaps 4 small bites at best. The worst thing was the overcooked geoduck, they're basically large clams and anyone who's cooked and eaten clams will know that overcooked clams turn rubbery and the few bits of geoduck were as rubbery as a rubber duck. The same applies to their Roasted Ling Cod, unless you enjoy overcooked ling cod, avoid at all costs. Amongst our group we ordered 3 New Your Steaks, we ordered medium rare, to their credit they were all cooked a perfect medium rare. Trouble was they were all way over salted. Too much salt to make them enjoyable, frankly I've had much better steaks at Denny's. As part of their prix fixe menu they had smoked black cod which I normally enjoy. Here they mashed the black cod into a chip dip which they served with their house made potato chips, While the dip was okay as far as taste goes, the chips they served last week on Wednesday night were all stale, not yet rancid but definitely stale. If the manager is reading this, I suggest he take a few and taste them himself. Prices weren't out of line since this is a resort area and restaurant pretty much can count on a "captive" clientele. However value wise this place should not be anywhere near the top of your go-to list.
