Lounge in the 2nd floor of the Westin, right by the entrance to Grill & Vine. Parking here is available but horrendous. The lounge has the typical yuppie feel. Dim lighting, fancy looking bar with a couple of TV screens, and a fireplace. There is also a large outdoor patio. Staff were friendly. No complaints. Had the Caesar here. Decent but nothing spectacular. I also got a cup of snacks (mixed stuff with pretzels etc.) which kind of nice. Overall a decent place to chill and chat with friends. There are other options out there though. read more

In whistler for a ski week. Tried several local places and was good with the limited menus but wanted something substantial. Had the chicken and it was awesome. Service was prompt and very friendly. There was a live jazz band playing so after dinner we sat at the bar. Band was really good, did Stevie ray vaughn justice. Bar tender was from Croatia very friendly and knowledgeable. Pretty mid in our opinion. They should rethink the "Crispy Cauliflower" which sounds amazing but was so deep fried, it could have been anything on the inside. We didn't eat food here so I can't comment on that - but our last day at Whistler would have been our third Epic powder day ... and it was a Friday ... so we opted to not deal with the lines and catch up on work with our laptops at the bar instead. For this purpose, it suited our needs perfectly. The bartender was attentive, friendly, and helpful. He pointed out a manhattan (I think it was) that they kept in a barrel "on tap" right behind the bar. I had that. This is a bar inside the Westin. It's up on the second floor. Lots of couches, comfortable chairs or seating at the bar. We went there on a Saturday evening and surprisingly it was about 1/2 full of kids. Felt more like a kids birthday party rather than a bar. Once I got around that I ordered one of their delicious scotches. They have quite a few on the list and the bartender was helpful picking one for me. Of course they can make any mixed drink you can think of. I should have looked at the wine list but will have to do that next time. We are staying at the Westin so we decided to pop downstairs for a quick bite to eat. This place gets two stars only because the service was excellent. The food was trash. We got the queso as an appetizer, it came out lukewarm and congealing with stale chips. We decided to skip the entrees and order dessert which was also incredibly disappointing. The basque "burned" cheesecake wasn't a delicately flambéd dish, it was literally just overcooked cheesecake. One of the raspberry garnishes was moldy, and a macaron had an oddly sour taste to it. To top it off our bill was over $90 by the time we tipped, that was for 1 appetizer, 2 small desserts and one old fashioned with well whiskey. read more

I finished off the night at Firerock after an absolutely rad day in the bike park and boy lemme tell you there is no better way to end a Whistler bike park sesh than with a Negroni from Firerock (imo the best I've ever had). We stayed at the Westin for one week and so the Firerock Lounge was our default hang out place late in the afternoon in between stuff, or late at night after we were done going out. Also it was our intended drinking destination for the evening on a couple of occasions. I had lunch here on two occasions, plus dinner a couple of times, and a late night snack another time. I've had the Nachos, the Chicken Wings (ordered them extra crispy), a burger with cheese, bacon and sautéed mushrooms (no bun), and two salads: the greens salad with grapefruit (minus the grapefruit) with grilled salmon added, and the Greens and Roasted Golden Beets salad - again with grilled salmon added. All of the food was pretty good. The chicken wings were especially tasty. I asked for a side of the wing sauce they were coated in - in addition to the side of Blue Cheese. Hit the spot. They carry more than two BC craft beers - as one reviewer James H. wished for when he wrote his review. I know, I drank at least five of them (there were also several more local brews that I did not try): - Grapefruit Ale (Whistler Brewing Co., Whistler, BC) - Loud Mouth Pale Ale (Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers, Vancouver, BC) - West Coast IPA (The Old Yale Brewing Co., Chilliwack, BC) - Shipwreck IPA (Lighthouse Brewing Co., Victoria, BC) - Whiskey Jack Ale (Whistler Brewing Co., Whistler, BC) I enjoyed all of them - except for the Whiskey Jack Ale, I'm usually not a fan of Amber Ales - I prefer hoppy American Pale Ales and IPAs. The bartenders and wait staff were really nice and really cool. As we spent a lot of time here, we got to know them a bit. Our first night there we met Jonathan and Matty - two super cool bartenders. We also got to meet and know the manager Jennie, two of the other bartenders including Marlee, and several of the wait staff, including Lucy and Jess. All super nice folks. My friend David and I were enthused when we discovered that they carry Lillet Blanc in their bar stock and also knew how to make the classic Vesper Martini. They went a little heavy on the Lillet, but the next time we request the drink, we'll ask for just a wee splash. We were also ecstatic to discover that they carry Lagavulin Distiller's Edition single malt scotch - a single malt not available in the U.S. While very expensive, it was required that we each sample a couple of rounds of this single malt during our stay. The only beverage I had that I was not a fan - is their Canadian Bloody Mary - the Caesar. It was to sweet for my taste. I've never had one before and so had nothing to compare it to - to know if they all taste like this or not. I followed up the Caesar with a regular Bloody Mary and was then happy once again. There is plenty of seating at the bar, in the inside lounge area, and two outside areas. On Tuesday nights they have an Open Mic night and encourage local musicians to show up with their instruments and perform. Jonathan, one of the bartenders performed a bunch of songs that evening on the acoustic guitar, he was pretty good. Two other performers all played some songs for us. During the day when I needed to sit and chill, I'd come down here and sit at the bar with my MacBook Pro, respond to e-mails and read the news. The only thing I wish for that they don't carry in their bar offerings are: Cointreau and dark Agave syrup (for making our favorite Lemon Drop Martinis), and Blue Cheese or Gorgonzola Cheese stuffed Olives (for use in dirty vodka martinis). read more

$5.50 Caesars on Sunday brought me in, from the chalkboard sign, other than cheap drinks, I was not that impressed. Why I was walking toward here was the fact of some pictures from friends sights on Facebook talking about the caesar with bacon, and they did not serve it on this day. As I had another caesar at Merlin's at the Upper Village, I had something to compare to from the day before, if I want this drink I'm going back to Merlin's. We walked in, and it felt like no one worked here, as we just wandered about, right to the patio and sat ourselves down, and it took a few minutes for the server to notice that we were the new table waiting to get served. The server also asked what we would like, without offering a menu, and assuming we were here just for the chalkboard special. I would dodge, unless they offer the caesar with bacon, as there are so many other places I could go in Whistler! read more

A great place to sit outside with a glass of wine after dinner away from the busyness of the village. The patio seating is very spaced out as well if you're wanting lots of space from other guests. Old Fashioned For Days! I accidentally stumbled into this place after a big day of apres. Met a lovely bartender Aaron, Anthony, Alan or Azza and he was a very nice guy. Best cocktails bar in Whistler!!!! The bar staff and servers are both friendly fun and very welcoming. They have a great choice of cocktails and also paired with good drink knowledge. The music is always set right to the bars atmosphere at the time. ( good old skool jazz hip hop playlist is a personal favorite) Cool location with in the western hotel with front and back patio for the sunny whistler days ...back patio has great view and nice tune playing too. They also have strict covid 19 rules that made you feel extra safe being there during these times. Overall I had a 5 star experience at fire rock enough to write this review and I'll defo be back soon read more

Positives: beautiful lounge, quick prompt service by friendly waitress.The fries were hot and on point. Opportunities: I stopped for lunch while waiting for my room to be ready. There were 3 guests in the lounge. I couldn't find a clean table. Looks like they took the dishes away but didn't wipe the tables. Nespresso latte was warm not hot. Maybe the machine's fault. I ordered the bison burger. Presentation was fabulous. The burger was doused in a slurry of ketchup mustard sauce which over powered the burger. This place needs a good vacuuming and cleaning. I'll come back for wine in a few hours, hopefully they wipe the tables. read more

This is located in the Westin Whistler, just next to the Aubergine Grille. This is where they serve lunch, so we ate here once during our stay. Service = 2 stars Food = 4 stars The menu has a small selection but the quality of the food is good. Hubby had a bison steak sandwich with yam fries and salad, and I had the grilled salmon. Both were nicely presented. Prices were reasonable at $16-$20 for lunch entrees. Service sucked though... our drinks ran empty a few times and the young guy working there seemed more interested in chatting to his friend about what he was up to the night before than serving the customers in the restaurant. read more

Located in the Westin Hotel (which also needs a facelift/update) - I would skip this place. Dated decor and a beverage program that seems decades old. Boring spirit brands, cheap shot spirits and general lack luster enthusiasm by the staff (can't same I blame them being stuck with this program) I called it quits after watching the bartender pick up the maraschino cherry bin and use his fingers as a strainer for cherry juice into a cocktail. Not once did I see him wash his hands while handling spriits, cash, cards etc. and then his hand as a strainer dipped into the cherries. Westin Management or better yet Rosewood - get back in this space and remodel it and revamp the bar program. It's impossible to get anything of quality in the entire hotel. I hate to ever write a negative review, but as a guest at the Westin sometimes you just need to hear the truth to make a change. read more

These guys suck. We had gift cards here but we unfortunately left them at home. I got one of my family members to take a photo of the front and back so they could enter in the code on it manually. and I've worked at a restaurant before where they used the same machines as them- I know they can do it but they were shady and said "no we can't do that." we came here for our apres ski and also my cousins sons birthday party and it was awesome. we had about 10 kids and their adults. we sat in the back in front of the fire and had the corner to ourselves. the service was excellent and they went out of their way to accommodate and serve us. i had two bloody marys and they were delicious! i also tried the strawberry mojito too. the food is also not bad. chicken wings, nachos, pizza, and sweet potato fries. awesome place read more

This place doesn't appeal as advertised. Walked in and half the sofas were occupied by one person each leaving everyone else to stand. Place also smelled of heavy bleach. Not like being by a pool and smelling bleach but like sniffing a bleach container. Also, poor engagement by staff. Don't charge $30 for a drink and give no attention. Went in for lunch during the winter craft fair with my family. My aunt ordered crab cakes (1 for $20), and it arrived cold. The server took it back and had it re-made at her request to have it heated. It arrived for the second time cold. When we told the server again that it was cold she mentioned how it is supposed to only be a "warm" item. If this is the case this should be stated in the description because it would probably not have been ordered. It was also recommended by the server! When a customer asks for something to be warmed, it should be warmed. Period. As well my sister and I had cold fries but didn't want to kick up a fuss so didn't say anything. Excuses should not be made. As locals, we would not recommend the customer service at this place. read more

I have to say I was extremely disappointed in this place. My boyfriend and I were staying at the westin the night before so we could ski the next day (we live in Vancouver) and we went in STARVING thinking let`s indulge a little and treat ourselves. We were on Vacation. -He had to get up and ask for the server to serve us. -Drinks took 10 minutes and all we had a bottle of beer and a diet coke -We had to ask if we could order our food - this was a different server this time -Our food took over an HOUR - and this time it was 930 and we were just exhausted so we asked for our food to go when it was ready -We got the food and it was freezing cold - this was clearly a service issue -The food was mediocre but I think it might have been ok if it was served hot and not soggy fries. -to our suprise the bill was $80 and we order wings and two sandwiches with frieds and a beer. You expect a larger bill but for the service it was ridiculous. They never apologized for the service, they never acknowledge the length it took them to serve or why the food was cold. There was no empathy applied. Normally in smaller places it`s kinda what you expect but we were in a very high end hotel who prides themselves on service however this restaurant was more focused on other items at the time - don`t know what because there was not very many people in the restaurant. It was actually a terrible kick start to our vacation. Luckily Whistler is amazing so it`s took the blunt. But we put a big fat zero on the tip. I was very shocked nothing was done on behalf of all the managers and the servers. Unfortunately this place does not always get repeat guest because of it`s location so perhaps not enough people would express how terrible the service was. read more

We ordered poutine as a snack. It arrived cold, and the cheese curds were not melted. When we asked our server, it seemed like a huge ordeal to fix it, so we didn't bother. We left.
