Straight-up, I have a mixed review for Acqua and hope they will resolve. Our family of 7 attend to celebrate a birthday. 3 people ordered the Wednesday Prim Rib Special for $39; 3 people ordered from the Spring Featured Menu (3 course for $45 or 2 course for $42); and one ordered from the menu, the lamb shank. Food and portion size are decent for the price point. What boggled me is that 4 dished were served first and the 3 featured dishes took another 20-30 minutes before being served. Our prime ribs got cold while waiting for the rest of the dishes. The server made a mistake on the appetizer for my mother, and it took another 20 minutes. We had to inquire a few times so this means the kitchen was not organized on the output. When we asked for extra gravy for our Prime Rib, we were informed an additional $4 would be charged so we declined even after waiting more than 20 minutes for all our meals. If the dishes all come out at the same time, I would have been happy to pay the extra $4. The server did bring us the very small container of extra gravy and said because it was a birthday dinner, no charge. Thank you for not charging $4 for 50ml of gravy! Our server was friendly and tried hard but often forgetting basic things so this needs to be reviewed. Additionally, our server knew it was a birthday dinner but offered us a dessert menu even though we bought in a cake. We had to remind her again. Overall, my first experience was not a positive one. Would like to visit again but not soon. Free parking outside.

Came here for dine out! I remember having some amazing salmon while helping out at a few events hosted here so was pretty excited for a sit down dinner. On top of the dine out menu, we also added some sides and appeys to share. I really enjoyed my soft shell crab appey! The steak was delicious but the fish main was a bit on the small side in comparison. For the dessert, the ice cream was so yummy but the donuts were a bit too sweet for me. We came back for prime rib Wednesday and had a great time as well! Portions were huge (10oz) so we only ordered one to share and added on other mains and appeys. The little loved his Yorkshire pudding. Such a great deal! Lots of parking available but you need to register your vehicle at the front desk. Service was great! It was nice and quiet so perfect for a serene meal.

Came for dine out Vancouver 2024! There weren't too many restaurants that stood out this year, so we picked a random one. We went with Acqua and it did not disappoint!! First off, their customer service was great! The waitress we had for tentative, patient and personable. She even asked us if we wanted a picture menu because the names of the dishes doesn't tell us much! When I checked in on yelp, I got a 10% off couple that says I could use either this time or next time, but was told that they don't collaborate with anyone so I couldn't use the coupon. I don't have the exact names of the dishes, but here goes nothing. Pre-appetizer (is there a name for this??) - tuna tartare: didn't taste that fresh, but it paired very well with the sauce. The pieces were a bit too mushy for my liking. - appetizer: we both got the soft shell crab tempura over the lamb mini burgers. The batter was much thicker than the crab, and the crab was too mushy. Wasn't the biggest fan. However, the sauce and the salad paired well with it. This was probably my least favourite dish the entire meal. - entree: Fish-- I forgot the name (even our waitress said no one knows what it really is), but it's quite similar to a sea bass! It was super fresh and the lemon flavour was very well infused! Steak-- good portions and tender. I loved this!!! Demolished it in five minutes!! Their sauce.. (cranberry?) elevated the entire dish! I loved the abundance of vegetable they included. Dessert: South East Asian donut paired with mango ice cream: the donut was infused with rose water, which I LOVED. Take a bite of the donut and a big bite of mango ice cream.. you can't go wrong!! Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream: the chocolate cake was a little too sweet for my liking, but it paired well with the vanilla ice cream. It was a good balance. Overall: $45 for dine out was so worth it! I've had way more expensive dine out menus for a fraction of the portion and tastes no where near as good. Happy hour drinks from 2PM-6PM!! I cannot testify for their regular food items, but if their standard is similar to their dine out dishes, I can guarantee it's good! ** don't pay for parking!! Go in and register :) I cannot wait to come back and try their regular menu :)

Nice happy hour with great prices and wonderful cocktails and culinary . The professional service offered by Naang was outstanding . Naang is very friendly and very customer service oriented. Was great to chat with her. As usually the ambience is very cozy and even the manager is very hospitable . All menu is great and prices for wine and cocktails are very affordable .

I really like this place! It was quiet when we were here and I liked it that way. Several tables were here celebrating birthdays like us. Staff would bring out a complimentary slice of cake and sing happy birthday. Totally unexpected but appreciated. We were here during happy hours and it seemed like this place still has affordable happy hour drinks. $5 for beer, wine and highballs. Cocktails and daily special are $8. The happy hour food prices have crept up though. I was more interested in the feature set menu which changes regularly. I chose a 2-course for $30 and followed the staff recommendation of getting the salad and salmon. He was spot on. My friend also liked his recommendation on beer. I requested my sangria to be sweeter and they got it right. I also discovered I got sleepy after eating the fruits in the sangria. I was told they were alcohol infused. Duh. I don't drink much after all so this is new to me. The beet, orange and goat cheese salad was refreshing and light. The west coast blacken salmon was superb! The salmon was so tender and not dry or hard at all. It was cooked very nicely and the sides complemented it very well. I am still thinking about the salmon. I also tried my friend's steak frites and the meat very very juicy and flavorful. Again, done very nicely. Another friend had the burger and onion rings from the HH menu and they were equally good too. I think we found our new hang out place, especially for happy hour. It has free parking which is always a huge thing. The staff are friendly and helpful in making recommendations. Awesome place. We will definitely be back often.

A beautiful patio restaurant in a hotel lobby

What got us attracted to this place was there beautiful patio seating! An amazing spot for summer brunch!! This establishment currently has The Bite of Burnaby fest where you can get a 3-course meal for $40. Definitely worth it! The staff were very friendly and made an exception to their menu based on dietary restrictions. The Goat Cheese Ravioli and Chocolate Torte were the biggest highlights of the menu for me. A must try place :)

Really decent and underrated hotel lobby restaurant near Brentwood. Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. Be sure to register one's license plate at the front desk. The venue consists of a dining room as well as a large S facing outside patio. I imagine it would be nice sitting outside as long as the sun isn't shining in one's face. The tables do have large umbrellas though. The staff are very friendly and professional and courteous. Special mention. As of the time of writing, there was 2-3 course feature menu which is constantly changing. Probably one of the better deals. Beet, orange, & goat cheese salad - quite tasty and pretty to look at. Just the right amount of dressing. Steak frites - decent with that home cooked feel. Served with sauteed onions and mushrooms. Fries are the standard thicker type. The cheesecake is also quite tasty. Worth a try if one has a sweet tooth. This place also has some happy hour specials, and unlike the nearby Cactus Club, the evening special runs all 7 days. Had to try those too. Wings - actually done quite well I must say. Crispy yet juice. Most other places are usually one or the other. Nachos - decent portion, though the guacamole and meat are an extra charge and bring the price up quite a bit. Nice layering and a decent amount of meat. Definitely worth checking out if one is in the area. Recommended.

Never noticed this restaurant but definitely a great spot with plenty of parking and tons of sunlight. Great view and very spacious. The food was alright and portions were very generous. We got the duck, while it was cooked more well done it was still juicy. The jus and veggies were good complements but probably they can skip the cherries. While the seafood pasta had a nice creamy and tangy sauce and glad they provided garlic bread to soak up all the sauce. The happy hour food/drink menu looks like a great deal so will definitely check out some of their other offerings.

We enjoyed a great dinner at Acqua Restaurant & Bar! We came shortly after happy hour for a dinner out and we decided to try this place out. It is located inside a hotel. We were greeted by staff upon arrival and we were attended right away. I really like that the restaurant was almost full but it was quiet, which I prefer. The staff here is wonderful, and actually so were the guests, haha!! We had some conversations with the table beside ours, and it was nice! The food was so delicious, but I wish I ordered wine with my pasta, as it would have paired well! I'll be back again!

**HAPPY HOUR REVIEW** Located inside the Executive Hotel, this little restaurant is quite nice for patio and indoor dining. We came by happy hour time and they have food and drinks on special. The service was friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back again.

Nachos

This restaurant was nice and has a good size patio. It was a little chilly so we decided to sit inside. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. We went at 4pm and were able to catch happy hour. We ordered the lager on special as well as nachos and calamari. The nachos were just ok. I don't like it when there's on cheese at the top and nowhere else. Also, I found the toppings sparse. The guac was not thick, it was an odd consistency. The calamari was very good. The dip it came with was so good. It wasn't tzatziki but a garlicy mayo. I wouldn't mind coming back but I'm not going to go out of my way.

We came in for Happy Hour The restaurant is actually inside of the Executive Hotel The dining room is nicely decorated and they can totally accommodate large groups. The items on the Happy hour menu is $5 if you order an alcoholic drinks (the drinks are $4 and up) $4 for a rum and coke is a pretty good price The tacos (2pcs) and quesadilla (3 pcs) were a bit small. If you don't care for the cheap happy hour drinks, they also offer a $10 menu which offers dishes that are larger in portion At 5:30 on certain days (think Fridays or Saturdays) there is also live piano music! There were only 2 designated parking spots for restaurant patrons.

Veal (dine out Vancouver)

Came here for Dine Out Vancouver ($35) If it wasn't for dine out, I wouldn't think the price is worth it for the meals. We got the seared tuna (which was probably my favourite out of the 3 course meal). I liked everything except the cracker. It was hard and stale. Veal was what we all got, they got a big portion which was what I liked. The veggies was a great complimentary side as well as the mash potatoes were nice. But the downfall is how dry it was. As a main dish all of ours was dry (4 people). The bone marrow was good. As for dessert, it was generic and nothing special. I would recommend the strawberry cheesecake over the chocolate (too sweet) Overall, the veal needs to be cooked more tenderly, remove the cracker for the seared tuna and maybe replace it with something else? Nobody ate it on their plates. Dessert was generic, wished they had something not too sweet as an option for the courses. Restaurant vibe: it was a weird location and had to drive around, the vibe of the restaurant felt kinda weird. Quiet and well maybe empty? But just felt very seclusive. It's like in a hotel area, maybe they should put some music?

Calamari was fantastic.

the birthday celebrations continue - this time with my ride or die girls! thankful for the moms in…read morethe group that made time to come - i hope i was entertaining(?) enough to be a nice little breather out of your hectic schedules?! i felt like i was transported to little homey greek oikos when i stepped into the restaurant - it was bubbling with conversations tho i have to admit, it does get a little loud as our evening went on. anywho, i was early - as i sometimes am - and i was seated right away. ofc, obligatory bday wishes were exchanged. our server was very intuitive as she knew i wanted to wait for the rest of my girls to arrive - she did bring water as i was dying of thirst by the time i got to the restaurant. my girls slowly piled in, and our server (javiera) came by to explain the menu and made a few recommendations on food/drinks. both of my drinks were features and not on reg menu - thank you for recommendations, javiera - i loved both of them. there was a little miscommunication at the bar with my 2nd drink - things got busy and my drink was quite delayed but other than that, smooth sailings with the drinks. there is a tasting menu (aka we'll cook for you) but we decided against it and went a la carte. we started with tirokafteri and lakerda. the tirokafteri, with the house made pita, was the perfect way to start our greek adventure. i DEVOURED the pita along with the dip - there is a little bit of a kick with the dish but nothing too crazy. the lakerda was bit fishier than we all expected - i am a seafood/fish person so it didn't bother me but a warning to those that are sensitive! i had to get another order of pita in before the mains came - this is how much i LOVED the pita here. we had the kalamari, mussels and the pasta feature. we all loved the latter two - not that the kalamari was bad in anyway. i have a thing for sour/pickled relish so the fennel cucumber salad that came with the kalamari was perfect for me. the mussels were fresh (even tho it's not rly mussel season), and the green olive focaccia (despite the fact that i dislike olives) was soft and doughy, the best vessel to soak up the spicy loukaniko butter! the pasta feature was a mint pesto rigatoni - the mint added a freshness that cuts thru the richness of the cheese sauce that the past came in. that and i just love pesto lol finally, the desserts - i ordered the mahalepi and javiera recommended the carob cheesecake, which we also got. thank you for the cute little candle on the cheesecake - it is not your usual cheesecake as you don't really taste too much of the cheese. while it tastes sorta like chocolate, it's actually carob - a very interesting dish. the mahalepi was light and delicate so both the dishes complimented each other well. a little loud for girls' night as we were shouting half the time but loved the vibe anyway!

The sauces weren't thick but light and right. The pasta however was not homemadeC except for the ravioli. The carbonara was a good copycat of the Roman carbonara, but with a bit cream. Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for. Hot off the oven and comes with olive oil/balsamic dip. So hearty and good. Service was efficient, although our server seems to be wanting to rush us. Constantly hovering and asking and taking plates away. I get it's the holiday season, but there were so many tables available. I like the location as it's not that far from DT and parking is safe and plentiful. Ambiance is like an old mafia restuarant where Gino is in the back and the soprano is eating right at the table next to you. Yes, i would repeat and try the other entrees. Cheers! Happy eating!
