I enjoy the Bite of Burnaby food event every year. This time, I decided to participate in the event and found out they offer a CAD 42 three-course menu. The plates look amazing on Instagram. We decided to visit the restaurant located inside the Hilton Metrotown. 3-COURSE MENU - $42.00 Duck Prosciutto Salad Cured duck breast, grilled peach, watermelon radish, arugula, toasted hazelnuts, shaved Pecorino, pomegranate dressing -The duck was very smoky and tender. The pomegranate salad dressing didn't interfere with the taste of the duck, and I appreciated the generous portion of salad. I really enjoyed this dish. Grilled Flat Iron Steak Roasted cauliflower and onion purée, fingerling potatoes, arugula, mixed mushrooms, shiraz demi, fresh thyme -Another great dish. The flat iron steak was very tender but a bit chewy. However, the Shiraz demi was very tasty, and the potatoes were crispy and perfect. Cannoli Trio Pistachio cream, chocolate chip, strawberry mousse -Very delicious. The cream was light and flavorful. The cannoli shell was a bit harder than I expected, but still acceptable. We also ordered calamari, chicken wings, and sliders from the Happy Hour special menu. The calamari was a bit overcooked, but the taste was okay. The chicken wing was crispy and moist inside, and the slider was delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meals. The Bite of Burnaby special was CAD 42.00 for these excellent dishes, which was worth more than I expected. It's a great deal. A notable point was their service--very friendly and attentive. They also offer very good happy hour deals, so I might visit for a happy hour meal and drink next time.

The happy hour menu and specials are always a good deal. Place isn't too busy so you could always walk in. The patio is open during the summer which is nice. We've had the platter here several times and it's always been great but the last time the brisket was overcooked & dry! Disappointing. But the Mac & cheese, potato salad and surprisingly... chips were tasty! The sangria is a bit watered down so I don't recommend it. The beer & burger with fries combo for $20 is such a good deal tho!

My partner and I tried Time & Place for our first time and tried the "Taste of the West Coast" menu. This limited time menu consisted of 3 spectacular courses. Every course we had was wonderful, but the star of the show for us was the Maple Orange Glazed Duck Breast. This dish consisted of many different components that were executed well and mixed wonderfully. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was very clean, not too loud, and a great spot for a date night out. I'm eager to try out more of their limited menus going on in the future.

So thankful we stayed at Hilton here and got to enjoy this splendid meal. Do not skip the side options, this green bean side was worth it! Nathan, our server was so welcoming and helpful to our stay. He did a fantastic job multi-tasking and assisting others too. How lucky they are to have him! Wonderful food, hats off to the chef! Thank you Hilton for having such a wonderful spot just an elevator away from us!

New year's Eve dinner before countdown here had a nice and quiet vibe. Service was a solid 4.5 stars. Food was a 3.5. They had a dance floor after 9:30pm and a DJ playing some tropical music. The music might have changed later in the night. They used to offer regular menu during this special occasion. This year they offered a 3-course meal with optional wine pairing in this 2023 New Years Eve menu. The price was more expensive than last year while the choices were less. The food was good, yet I would expect a little more at a restaurant inside a 4-star hotel at this price point. My friend and I had very similar taste. We ordered the better option (we think) out of the 3-choice appetizer and 2-choice dessert. The entrée was different. They had beef Wellington, salmon Wellington or a vegan Wellington. - White wine: Gewürztraminer (fruity and aromatic) - Red wine: Pinot noir (acidic and dry) - Seared scallops with califlower puree, pancetta chips, chanterella mushrooms, chives and chive oil - Salmon Wellington - Beef Wellington - Chocolate crunch bar with caramel sauce, toasted hazelnuts, vanilla ice cream and strawberries The presentation and aroma were appealing for the scallops. Season was on point. The scallops, however, were a tag overcooked and on the dry side. But don't get me wrong. They were tasty with the combination of other ingredients on the plate. My salmon Wellington was surprisingly juicy with the flaky pastry. There was a layer of chopped spinach on top of the fillet inside the pastry. The bearnaise sauce complemented the fish. The generous spring mix and fennel salad was very refreshing in some vinegrette dressing. My friend's beef Wellington looked quite appealing. The beef was tender. Gotta dip it in the bordelaise sauce or it might be a bit dry. They gave a ton of seasoned mash potatoes. It was a yummy dish. We both had the chocolate crunch bar for dessert. The main reason for me was the vanilla ice cream on the side, plus I like chocolate. The crunch bar was not too sweet. It was creamy with the texture in between a mousse cake and a brownie. The strawberries were fresh. The toasted hazelnut added another layer of texture to our palates. They accept cash, debit and credit. They have 3 hours of free parking underground from Crystal Mall entrance.

Came here for the Bites of Burnaby $40 menu. First impression walking in was that it was super empty and quiet (but more people came as the evening went on). I was very pleasantly surprised because I had very low expectations for a Hilton restaurant but the meat was very very good. And the portion was waaay bigger than I was expecting. Thank god my bf and I decided not to get 2 bite of Burnaby menus! I saw that they have a pretty good happy hour menu as well. Lastly, service was great! I would definitely come back since there's no good bbq meats around Metrotown.

Hidden away in the conference level of the Hilton hotel attached to Crystal mall where your can access 3 hours of free. This space looks like it may have been the catering section of the conferences they worked host pre pandemic as it's quite hidden away with not really any proper signage. The service was really good. Our server was attentive and checked on us several times and food came really fast. We actually came here to try the bites of Burnaby festival menu but decided to try a variety of ales to share and most were pretty good. Lasqueti Island Honey Mussels with chorizo. Mussels were very meaty and was a decent dish but could have had a little more umpf in the sauce Seared Scallops & Candied Salmon Mushroom Ragout - this was not bad if you considered it to be only a scallop and mushroom sauce dish but I thought the candied salmon was out of place here. A little too sweet for the dish and I love candied salmon. Perhaps maybe smoke salmon would be nice? Or smoke trout? Crispy Brussels Sprouts - who didn't love deep fried sprouts?! And they do them well here. A big plate of perfectly crispy sprouts. My favorite of the night. Pound of wings - dill pickle and honey tossed. This looked different and had to dry. Very interesting and tasty flavour combo Duck Confit Poutine - I would hardly call this a poutine. Instead of sweet potatoe fries as expected, it was 3 slices topped with the duck and cheese and gravy. Meh. Truffle fries - these were really yummy!! Made fresh and so crispy. They sure do their fried food.

I really wanted to like this place and was excited to come dine here, unfortunately this was probably the worst steaks I've ever had in my life. You can see in the picture how much fat and gristle there was. Besides having very little editable meat to cut through, I wasn't given a steak knife until halfway through my meal. The only good thing about my plate was the fries were good.. the roasted tomato was undercooked and inedible. The broccolini and sauces was just ok. Luckily my bf's lamb shank was cooked perfectly and he said the meat melted off the bone. Portions of the wings were also very small. Won't go out of my way to come back, restaurant tries to be fancy but failed.

Seafood bouillabaisse. Fresh seafood, ling cod and salmon and tons of mussels.

Went to Time & Place again at Hilton Crystal Mall, this time for Mother's Day. Wow it did not disappoint. HUGE portions, super reasonable prices , great service, lovely ambience with spaced out seating so you don't have to talk over a noisy crowd. Reservations were easy, parking was free. Chicken wings for appetizer was fresh and good - I would try this during happy hour when it's cheaper. Seafood chowder appetizer was so big we swore it was an entree. In fact, we could have eaten that and been full. My mom argued with me about it being the bouillabaisse due to the size. The fries were out of this world. I have not had better fries at Joeys, Cactus or Keg. Or any of the Chains. They were so addictive and crispy and non greasy it was like an elevated version of Costco fries (which you know are DELICIOUS). The steak was bigger than my face. I have a big face. For the same price at Joeys or Cactus you would get 40% less meat. Cut of the steak was fine. They also gave ample amounts of broccolini which made us feel we were having a well rounded meal with veggies. For the price we paid we were satisfied with the steak. My parents are never impressed. By anything. They were impressed with this restaurant. I was shocked. We will definitely be back!! Note their website has correct hours. Yelp for some reason says they are closed on certain days which is not true! Check them out.

A delay review here, but just like to express how impress I am of this place! They have specials and platters every now and then prior to the dine-in restrictions and I had the opportunity to catch on their Tomahawk platter offered a while back and it sure made a jaw dropping grand entrance at our table tonight! It was HUUUGGGEEEE! 50oz of meaty goodness and it also comes with a generous amount of crab legs and vegetables. And guess what...this was a platter for 2 for $90!! What a deal! We also ordered some sides and tried out some other dishes to share for our table for 4 and they were just as impressive! Definitely keep an eye out on their menus and hopefully there will be fine in soon so there are more opportunities to enjoy all the specials in their beautifully plated platters!

We had a girls night out pre-proposal dinner at this establishment for the Dine Out Menu. Unfortunately, it was very under staffed. All the waiters were very nice but very obviously stressed out and over worked. We were seated at 7pm and it took until 7:30pm to get waters and until 8pm to receive our appetizer. The beef carpaccio was tasty however they forgot the bread on one of the dishes. We ordered 3 mains, 2 beef dishes and 1 scallop risotto. This was our fault for not reading the menu closer, but one of us was keto and could not eat the pasta and ate the limited beef that was on the dish. The beef was more like a soupy beef. It would have been nice if they were willing to replace the dish considering the slow service. They also forgot the scallops in the scallop risotto. They quickly brought out 5 scallops which was nice. The dessert was sub par. They also forgot to bring out the wine pairing for the dessert and then accidentally brought 2 wines out for dinner (and let us keep the extra glass which was nice of them). By the time we left it was 945pm and that isn't because we were chatting... I'm sure the night we dined in was extra busy and perhaps a one off, but we will not be returning to find out.
