    Norwegian egg benedict
    Andrew S.

Finally able to try this place as it is always packed on weekends. Came on a Monday and we were able to get a table. They have a variety of food items, from brunch, burgers, skillets and salads. They have different drinks too. We got the Korean skillet and Norwegian eggs benedict. The skillet was good, but I don't think they baked it in it as the handle wasn't hot. The bottom of the skillet was hot but you don't need a wooden plate to hold it. The smoked salmon on the benedict was fresh and good. The English muffin was soft. The TVs in there were tuned to the kids channel so paw partol was on. They do have high chairs so good to bring family. Service was good, place was spacious and I'd recommend going on weekday for lunch if you can.

Revisited pur and simple for breakfast as it's one of my go to places in Burnaby. It has great ambience nice lighting and seating and amazing breakfast and brunch options. This time decided to try their garden fresh skillet which had veggies ,potatoes, guacamole and a different sauce which was kind of empowering the whole dish. I did not like the sauce to be honest and so the skillet overall was just okay . The sauce is there in the picture . Service of the staff is okay and accommodating and they divide the plate if needed or if you want to. They always charge a bit for anything small on the side so be mindful even coffee or a single slice of bread. Overall I think I should stick to my favorite dishes for a while here and enjoy them for breakfast options. But still will recommend this place .

    French toast crisp

Went for lunch and was seated right away. The menu had a wide variety of savoury and sweet breakfast and lunch options. We ordered a pur western omellete and panko breaded French toast with berries and whipped cream. The omellete was solid portion and came with potatoes and toast. The panko breaded French toast was crispy and went well with the English cream and berries. It's good if you have a sweet tooth. The interior was simple and homey (lots of families and children at the time). They also offered a variety of healthy options on the menu.

Solid family-friendly brunch spot in Burnaby. Large portions and tons of options to choose from. We tried the Canadian, the big three, club sandwich, avocado salmon toast and the Roro 123 (kid's menu) and all were pretty good options. The coffee here is decent. Ambiance is bright and welcoming and services was also friendly and kind. Great place to meet up with friends and family!

A bit pricey, but totally worth it for brunch lovers. The French toast was rich and perfectly made, and the Guava Margarita was super refreshing. The place gets packed, especially on weekends, so make sure to join the waitlist online before heading over. The menu has a great variety, with lots of tasty vegetarian options too. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the mood for a satisfying and flavorful brunch.

Great service, ambiance and food! I had the breakfast poutine and my 4 year old ordered the strawberry/banana crepe which was huge! Food was super hot, fresh and a good portion size. I also ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice latte that was great but pricey at almost $7. It's very bright and sunny inside. Will for sure go back!

I got the Shrimp taco and bananaberry waffle. The shrimp taco was underwhelming. I felt the shrimp had too much batter. The bananaberry waffle was a good size but could be crispier

I've had a few brunch items at Pur & Simple before and they were all fine. The prices are reasonable and the food is consistent. The chicken tacos however were not my favorite. The torilla wasn't toasted, salsa tasted like jarred stuff too. Stick to the brunch items and you won't go wrong. They get a 4/5 though because this isn't a rating only on the tacos.

The check in process was a little confusing. Was told it would be 30 mins wait and we would get a text when it's ready. So I thought I'd do a little shopping nearby but less than 5 mins later got a text table was ready! lol. That's a good thing I guess cause I was starved. The waiter was attentive and happy. The food was very satisfying! So glad it's nearby and service is fast.

    Chicago Benedict ($19.25)

I stopped by for lunch during the weekday. The restaurant was not too busy and we managed to get seated right away. The menu was extensive and I decided on a coconut mocha iced latte and a Chicago (bacon, ham and sausage) Benedict. There was choice of regular or spicy hollandaise sauce. Our server was slow. We asked for water and it took her awhile to come back to drop off water. It also took her awhile to come back to take our orders. The food and drink arrived in reasonable time. The food arrived lukewarm or almost room temperature. Not sure if it was just the timing of the food was off or it took our server awhile to bring the food over as she was somewhere else. The flavours were good. There was a decent amount of hollandaise sauce. Egg was soft poached as requested. The coconut mocha iced latte was good. Unfortunately, I could not customize sugar level so it was on the sweeter side. Overall, this is an okay option in the area. I liked the menu options. I hope the next time I stop by, the food would be served at a warmer temperature. I would consider this visit a 3.5 star experience.

    Cheese steak Benedict

It was recommended by a friend and my friends and I decided to give it a try. Ambiance 4/5 - the place is clean and tidy. I would say a good place for a meeting or small gathering. Service 4/5 - I feel the service was ok. They were friendly but one thing I didn't like was their tip option at the end. The machine only gave me 18%,20%, 22%. (I might have missed it) I honestly think that the service wasn't 18% standard. I would tip 12-15% Food 2.5/5 - I felt they need more care and effort towards their food. We all felt that the potato bits were cold. Cheese steak egg Benedict (3/5) Chicken waffle (2.5/5) As for the chicken waffle we felt the chicken portion was too small. I would expect each waffle would have a piece of chicken with it. The waffle felt like it was from those premade frozen food that you can find in the grocery store freezer section. Make sure you ask for sauce on the side because the chicken sauce is delicious but it will overpower the whole meal. Avocado toast (2/5) The avocado toast was not appetizing. At the end, I really felt that there are better brunch places in the area for the same price. I personally wouldn't go back again

I finally checked out this place after walking by it multiple times. We had lunch here. If you're into breakfast or brunch, this is the place for you. Ambience: 5/5 - nice vibe & clean Service: 4/5 - great and attentive server Location: 5/5 - across the street from the Public Library. Parking is available at Station Square or the parking lot near Save On Food: 4/5 - There's a good selection of breakfast items but there are burgers, wraps, sandwiches, greens & a kids menu. Ordered the Don Chorizo Benedict - delicious with a spicy kick to the meal & the Canadian - delicious portion of food. It was a choice of 2 eggs with potatoes, 3 strips of bacon, sausage, ham, French toast & either white or whole wheat bread. Both entrees were of decent value.

    French Toast Crisp
    Vanessa W.

Pür & Simple has an extensive menu, including all the breakfast classics! If you're craving something sweet, there are crepes, waffles, french toast, and pancakes. As for savoury options, there are benedicts, skillets, omelettes, and more. French Toast Crisp - This panko-breaded french toast is a must-try and the best french toast I've ever had! The panko creates such a nice, crispy texture. It was surprisingly not too sweet, especially if you don't dip it in the custard or raspberry sauce. I got 3 slices because I shared one but if you're eating it on your own, I think 2 will be enough. I liked that it was topped with fresh blueberries & raspberries. Santa Fe - 2 silky poached eggs with hollandaise sauce & sriracha on top of an English muffin. This is their only eggs benedict with avocado. It's so flavourful since there are also black beans, peppers, tomatoes, red onions, and corn. Served with soft potatoes that were fluffy on the inside. We waited for 40 minutes on a Sunday at noon, which was reasonable. Around 30 minutes in, the hostess asked us and other groups to wait outside. It was super cold on this day, literally -2°. If we had known from the beginning that we'd have to wait outside, we wouldn't have agreed to it.

Gray Olive Cafeteria is a bright and simple brunch spot that serves a variety of classic, but well-executed brunch dishes and drinks. The popularity of the place showed as we waited almost an hour for a table today (granted it was a stat), with people continuing to flow in while we were dining. My boyfriend explained that they were originally a small diner, but later upgraded to more spacious seating. The waitress (who was also hostessing) was kind and apologetic for the wait. After we sat down and ordered, the food arrived very quickly. The chicken and waffles immediately caught our eye as it seemed almost one person at every table had ordered it. For $1.75, you can also opt to have your chicken made spicy, and it was very worth it! I also really liked the waffles, despite usually preferring chewier waffles. These waffles had a crispier bite, but were fragrant and delicious regardless. The crab cake benny was also a delicious umami bomb with great textures and flavours. Keep in mind, there probably isn't a lot of actual crab (mostly imitation from what I saw and tasted), but it still tasted good. One standout was the hashbrown potatoes. They were perfectly seasoned and so crispy! I also appreciated that everything wasn't too salty and perfectly seasoned for my asian taste buds. I will definitely return, but on the basis of coming for a reservation only!
