Came here on a Monday with my mom and a family friend. Havn't tried coming here on a weekend but don't think I'd wanna chance it. Weekday is a great time to come here if you can. Second time coming here without having to deal with any lineup! I had the Herald St. Omelette. You get to pick 3 fillings for this omelette so I put cheddar cheese, mushrooms, and onion & pepper medley. It was delicious! The hashbrown they gave was really nice too. It was a rectangular shape, had a lovely golden colour to it and nicely crisped on the outside while being soft and moist on the inside. Our family friend ordered the Apples Cinnamon French Toast. It looked very tempting and I might order it for myself next time!
This place was an incredible breakfast find. Go early. The lines formed as we left. Service and all food just nailed it. Pumpkin pancakes and eggs Benny rocked it!
Jam was seriously my most favorite meal during our 1 week stay in Vancouver. Friendly and attentive service, excellent food, and a bright/open space made for a great experience. I ordered the Walnut Pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were a huge, delicious portion and so fluffy. The bacon was incredible - literally some of the best bacon I've ever had. My partner got the Blackstone Benny and the kids shared a fruit cup and side of bacon. Everyone was happy! The staff was super accommodating and friendly to our 2 kiddos (ages 1 & 4). They have high chairs and even a family restroom with a changing table.
The menu is deceiving. You think you're getting $4.50 pork sausage but apparently that's the gravy? It's not "pork sausage" OR "mushroom gravy ". This was not explained by my server and I ended up paying $8.50 for sausages. Pancakes here are enormous. Don't expect to eat them in one sitting. I had to pack it to go.
Everything here is just delicious, you can't really go wrong. And some of the unexpected combinations are surprisingly tasty. I would have never ordered 'the Elvis ' if it weren't for a friend wanting to sample the menu, but now I can't wait to go back and have it again! Hearty meals, modern, fun atmosphere and great service. Can't ask for more than that
Stopped by in a group of 3 on a cold rainy Saturday. As expected, there was a line up and we were seated after a relatively short 20 minute wait. Split the Blackstone Benny and the Chicken & Waffles so could have a little of everything. The Blackstone Benny was excellent in taste and presentation. My expectation was high for the Chicken & Waffles...but I was not overly impressed. The presentation was nice but I found the chicken not crispy and the gravy lacked taste. Still it was a great breakfast. And tried the Jam Caesar...with bacon....what? The taste was ok but the presentation was bang on. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend this Jam Cafe.
The north vancouver location is much bigger than the original Kitsilano location and offers more seating. The service was quick even with a full restaurant. We ordered the old town breakfast and Fried chicken benedict. The fried chicken was crispy served with perfectly poached eggs. Both came with shredded hashbrowns that were crispy and delicious. The portions were generous and the menu had a huge selection to choose from. Presentation was also very aesthetic, the dishes tasted as good as they looked. Always a favourite brunch spot to take visitors to check out in Vancouver.
Went back here after a while, it was great as usual but super busy for a rainy 11:30am. We waited 50 mins before getting a table for three. Food was very good - I ordered the eggs and meatball skillet; it was originally served with a brioche bun but I asked for it to be substituted for has brown and they did it gladly. My friends ordered one of the bowels and French toast; they said it was delicious! Lots of seating. Rustic decor. Constructive feedback: have a better system of managing your seating because the lineup you have at the moment does not work. We were told to line up and that we'd get a table when we were at the front of the line but that wasn't the case, we waited until a table for 3 was available. It might make more sense to have a waitlist and customers put down the number of people in their party, then you can serve them better? Maybe give it a go and see how it goes.
Always so busy even on a weekdays! The host and servers were courteous and attentive. The food were beautifully presented, eggs were nicely cooked to the way we like them. The portions were BIG! Hubby had leftover from his Charlie bowl and I brought home some of the leftover from the chicken coop plate. Despite their well presented plates, I feel like the sausage gravy is lack of seasoning. I had been to the South and these definitely lack of something. My biscuit and friend chicken were dry, I feel like it needs a bit more gravy. Our highlight was the delicious apple cinnamon french toast! The apples were nicely caramelized and the brioche french toast were soft, had some crispy parts and the cinnamon were balanced. The place was busy but not too noisy. Our out of town guests loved the place and enjoyed their brunch! Parking can be a hassle around Lower Lonsdale, so come early!
I always like Jam Cafe as the food is really good and they have boozy coffee and drinks. Great combination! The best thing about this location is the lack of a line on a weekday. It makes it so much more accessible for me. Many times I want to dine at Jam Cafe in Vancouver but the lines outside even on weekday mornings deterred me. I guess this will be my go to until I see lines all the time. Service is friendly and ok. Need to flag them down for water top up though. I finally get to try the Charlie Bowl after hearing so much good things about it. Sadly I was very underwhelmed by it. I think the lack of color, mostly beige after the eggs are gone, played a part. I had no idea what I was eating. The biscuits were a bit dry. Surprisingly it actually tasted better the next day after I microwaved it. Not so dry after that. The portion was huge and I couldn't finish it. Looking at other diners' dishes, it seemed like everything was a generous portion. Come here very hungry. I would get my favorite fried chicken with waffles, French toast or Benny in future. That never disappoint. The Fat Elvis also looked so good. I'll be back again. Street parking is available.
Located on the corner, street parking and a pay lot near restaurant. Came in on a Wednesday late morning, it was busy. Everything ordered was delicious. The maple butter waffle was my favorite. Eggs, and hash browns were cooked perfectly. The house made jam was a nice surprise. Side order of sausage gravy was so flavorful it's now my favorite gravy to date. Restaurant has a diner decor inside quaint seating and some ample tables for larger parties. Staff were friendly and did great in checking in. When in Vancouver I will be back!
Happened to stumble upon this place in Vancouver, and so lucky we did. There was a line already outside, that moves relatively quickly. Staff is really friendly and service is quick. The food was delicious! I had the fried chicken Benedict. It had some southwest flare with corn and tomatoes. Chicken was juicy and crispy and their potato hash browns were really good, kids absolutely loved them. Husband had the smoked salmon Benedict was that also really good. Eggs were nice and runny, everything was fresh! Kids also had the apple and walnut pancakes which was decadent and fluffy. Tasted so good, like eating an apple pie. Kids dug into them so fast, couldn't get a nice pic. Would definitely come back here again. The interior is very cute and cozy feeling with a huge moose head over the reclaimed wood (cabinet doors) fireplace
Breakfast here on game day before wifeys hair apt. Was hoping it wouldn't be super busy due to the game and was correct. Able to get seated quickly with a super friendly host. Establishment was bright by the windows a little darker inside but very cool vibe with the decorations. Lots of bar seating. Our server was very nice and able to answer any questions we had about the menu. Wifey ordered the mighty Monte cristo benny. I ordered the Charlie bowl. The bowl was very hearty hott mess in a good way. Very filling, tasty with all the good bits of bacon, ham, sausage gravy all throughout. I had to take half home as it was a bit much for me. Wifeys Benny was decent, the hollandaise was more mayoee than regular hollandaise and there was a sweet drizzle on the eggs I personally was not a fan but I can see it's appeal to others. Serving size are very decent. Overall this location is good and we will visit again. Lovely servers, good food and atmosphere! read more
I was visiting the city for work and got a chance to see my close friend. For a relaxing weekend experience, she took me to this restaurant for a Sunday brunch. We arrived early yet the place was already full, vibrant energy throughout the cafe. The decor had lots of funky and antique items, which added to the relaxing theme. After waiting for about twenty minutes, it was our turn to sit down and eat good food! Our waitress was a friendly lady who welcomed us and brought water. After browsing the items on the menu, my friend chose The Tater Bowl and I picked Mushroom N' Ricotta Benedict. Finally, when our orders arrived, we were ready to eat! The portion was so generous and everything was cooked just right. We were so full at the end, so we didn't get a chance to try other items. Friendly service, delicious food and warm vibe- you can't go wrong here! A must-try if you are visiting Vancouver! read more

The food was absolutely AMAZING -- seriously, so, so good! Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was just as impressive. Annie was our server, and she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire visit. She made us feel so welcome and took great care of us. I ordered the lavender mimosa (which was perfectly balanced and refreshing) along with the Charlie Bowl, and both were outstanding. Everything from the presentation to the taste exceeded expectations. So happy we found this beautiful and delicious place to eat!! You have to try it! read more

Fantastic experience, excellent food & drinks. We were looking for a good brunch place while on a road trip. We are really glad we found this place, it was a highlight of our trip. Two of us had the Chicken & French Toast, and the other two both got Benedicts. Everyone loved what that they ordered. The Caesar and the Old School Mimosa were great too, as was the coffee. The one in Kits. I went to. The one on Beatty. I went to. The one in North Vancouver I would have to say I like best. Here's why. So, take all the good stuff from the other two locations and remove the bad stuff also from the other two locations....and you end up with the one on the North Shore. The floor plan with this one allows enough room for each table, so that you don't become part of someone else's conversation next to you. The Feng Shui and energy is open, light, airy and large.....you don't feel cramped. These two factors are an issue with the other two locations. Especially, the one in Kits is very noisy, so if you're into a more quite beginning of the day....you won't have a problem with that here. Now the food: The Green Eggs and Ham. Wonderful. The spinach was freshly cooked, the biscuit was freshly baked and the pesto was just the right amount, and the ham was not too salty. Beautiful. This is to say that I don't even like biscuits, but after this dish I am now a fan. Says a lot. The Avocado Benny. Well..you know I'm a Benny nut...and it hit the spot. Created with care and attention. Speaking of attention.....the service was on point. From the front hostess, to our server to anyone that worked there who made eye contact, walked over and checked up on you, to a smile and a thanks for coming.....You guys rocked it Nothing fell short. The Jam Cafe originated out of Vancouver Island, Victoria with the first Metro Vancouver location on Beatty St downtown. That location was so popular (& still is today), such so that it is common to wait up 2hrs to get in! The second location on 4th Ave in the Kitsilano neighbourhood, aliveated some of the agony of that long torturous wait as the hunger pains got worse, the longer you waited. JCs portions are massive so come here starving. I really dig this 3rd location (in Metro Vancouver) a lot here in North Vancouver. It's easy to get to, on the major high street - Lonsdale Ave, parking is easy & with a quick hop, skip & jump you're at the Shipyards District in a flash. The decor of JC is rustic & has a 'out in the country' away from the city feel. Some of my fav hits over the years in no particular order - the Charlie Bowl, Fried Chicken & Waffles, Cherry & Ricotta French Toast & The Flying Buffalo Sandwich. JCs milkshakes are pretty decent as well. Watch out for this one on limited release - the Coconut Triple Berry French Toast! Hot Tip Alert - JC does not take reservations - first come first served! Put your name down with the host & wait till you get called. Can be challenging in the winter & anytime you're really starving. Remember, the early bird gets to eat first. read more
After going Jam Cafe on Beatty Street for a number of years I was excited to try this new location and it didn't disappoint! First thing I noticed was that it had much more seating room and didn't feel nearly as cramped. My folks and I arrived at 8am when they opened and there was no line and by the time we left around 8:50am only 3 more people had sat down. The food! I can honestly say the quality is just as good as their downtown location! I got the Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, mom got The Old Town Breakfast and dad got the Apple Cinnamon French Toast. The pancakes were fantastic as always. My only gripe is wishing there was icing in the center too rather than just the top! Mom gave me her aggs which were yummy. Some people may find them slightly underdone but I love how they're cooked. Just remember if you want them a certain way, let them know. Dad is a super picky eater but thankfully he really enjoys the French toast here. I had a few bites and it was fantastic. SO FLUFFLY. Our waiter was also friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere, great food, and a great experience. We live down in Washington but always try to eat at Jam when we take trips to Vancouver. Still hoping we get one in Seattle one day! read more

Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a bit of a wait, but well worth it. Big portions, yummy food and excellent customer service. We got the blueberry lemon pancakes, waffle & a side of hashbrowns. Their house made jalapeño hot sauce went great with the potatoes. Everything was very tasty! read more

The bennies are so good!!! I tried the avocado Benny which was light and creamy, and my partner had the fried chicken Benny which was also quite light, not greasy and really tasty. The wait to get in was quite lengthy with the line wrapping around the corner and up Lonsdale, but we got in within about 45min-1hour. It was well worth the wait and I can't wait to return! read more
Spacious location in North Van with friendly efficient service. Love the vibes of the space with old fashioned decor. Candies bacon is delicious albeit pricey at $8 for 2 strips. I got one of the hashbrown bowls that was loaded with meat. It was too rich for me to finish. Hubs enjoyed his dish, especially the accompanying cornbread. read more

Oh my gosh! Talk about delicious!!! The prices a not bad once you consider that each plate is two meals for the savory dishes and the pancakes are at least 4 portions a plate!!! read more

Overall Jam is awesome. Food is great. Staff is lovely. Only 2 areas they need to improve 1. Please train your staff not to spray cleaner on tables next to where someone is eating. Three times I've had my arm and my food sprayed. Just spray the cloth and wipe with it. I find that really gross. 2. It gets really loud because of the acoustics. So not a great place for anyone who is hard of hearing . Not sure if they can fix that..? read more

Went to jam in North Vancouver for lunch. No line up and got a seat with ease at 1130 am but it filled up quickly at 12. Food was delicious. Hashbrowns were a nice change from the usual shredded potatoes. Portion was small for my breakfast item but the king chicken sandwich was a good size. Ambiance was clean and staff were courteous read more
