    Panini sandwich

This place is mainly a coffee place. We had ordered their panini sandwich for lunch. I had it toasted as it tasted better on a cold day. Nothing wowing about the sandwich. Since we're not coffee drinkers, we had herbal tea which they offer a few choices. They also offer other sweet treats. There's both indoor and outdoor seating even on a cold day. Parking is complimentary on the street.

Lovely local hangout in the courtyard of Lynn Valley Square. Friendly staff. Variety of beverages to chose from. Yummy treats. Parking underground. Plenty of seats inside and out My date & I prefer the outdoor seating to enjoy our warm drinks.

If you don't know that this place is here, then you can easily miss it because unlike other businesses it doesn't have a bright, colorful sign. It's "tucked away" in the back part of Lynn Valley Village just on the pathway that leads to the bus stop (210, 227) and right next to the library. It is very nice that it has two entrances (one from the outside and one from a pathway that connects to the library. Now I have been here twice but only once was I able to secure a beverage. I ordered a chai latte (my go-to drink for my first visit to a new shop) and I was eager for it to be in my hands cause it was a cold, wet day and to me, that's the perfect scenario for a nice hot drink. The moment my fingers gingerly wrapped around the cup (I was careful cause it was hot and all) I felt an instant warmth start to fill my hands. Once I was able to sip it, I searched for the spice that usually comes with a chai latte but that was probably my own mistake because I had asked for it to be slightly sweetened. It was still good and I would order it again. Overall, I had a great experience. If you're looking for a quaint coffee shop, then this is the place for you. Though, I couldn't find a wifi network so I don't think it's very conducive for working.

So I'm visiting Vancouver, specifically North Vancouver; and have a little bit of time to kill... This for me, means coffee! Upon reviewing the choices, including a Starbucks nearby, I choose you Pikachu, Delany's Coffee House. In the same general area as the Lynn Valley Centre, is a unassuming coffee shop, next to the library. Lots of parking and looking at it, you feel It's warm setting, and perfect for a sip of bean-based golden brew. Seating can be rough, especially on a cold day, families and friends look to find a comfy seat(s) within. Once down, it's a cozy comfortable shoppe, with everything you expect. The coffee is good and balanced, the flavors are good, and the service is on point. They were friendly, and smiling, and welcomed a conversation. I can't say anything for the food, doesn't look like it is prepared there, the food prep is only visibly suited for coffee, and coffee shop related drinks.i did see plenty of people scarfing down food, so that indicator would be, it's probably not bad. You can sneak complementary WiFi from the library, if you are in the right seat, or Shaw internet seems to be around for subscribers. I think if I'm in this area again, I would not hesitate to stop on by, get a coffee, and just relax. Great place!

This shop is in the charming Lynn Valley Village. It's big and bright with lots of tables outside, the customer service is always friendly and polite and the cafe is right next to the entrance to the fabulous Lynn Valley, North Van library. If you need wireless, just pick up the library signal. I've had their Cappuccino's too many times to count and as much as I appreciate the effort and service, the espresso and coffee both lack pizazz for me now. I usually need to ask for an extra shot to boost it. When I'm in the area with our hiking group, I will still choose Delany's, but I don't know if they changed or my coffee pallet has become more discerning. The hot chocolate has dairy in it, sad for me, but I'm so delighted that the manager of this Delany's brought in some Non gluten, non dairy Peanut butter dark chocolate chip cookies. What a nice surprise! They are tasty and not too expensive either. This is a great gathering place for large groups, just scoop some tables and chairs together. After a hike, many times we've arrived at the village to find locals relaxing at the outdoor tables in the sun at Delany's. Shoppers with their dogs leashed at their feet, all enjoying the ambiance that this cafe brings.

Nice coffee, nice people, nice atmosphere. No wifi, you have to use free wifi from library next door, which is weak. Really!

Wifey ordered French toast. I also ordered perogies. Fairly standard breakfast fare. Nothing fancy. The waffles imo could be better.. they were kinda dry inside bit fluffy. Def crispy on outside but with the missing fluffiness inside it kinda detracted from the enjoyment of having waffles. Rest of the breakfast food was as said standard and decent. The one thing that did stand out was the home made perogies.. they were very delicious. Over all, decent place to get your breaky but i don't think I'd go out of my way again to visit.

The café has a welcoming, neighborhood feel and offers a selection of hearty breakfast dishes with both classic and fusion-style options. Tommy Hash Bowl Corned beef, roasted red peppers, and onions, topped with poached eggs and hollandaise. The dish is hearty and well-portioned. The corned beef adds a savory depth, while the roasted peppers bring a light sweetness. However, the overall flavor could benefit from a touch more seasoning to fully elevate the components--thankfully, having salt and pepper readily available on the table allows diners to adjust to their preference. The hollandaise, while smooth, leans slightly mild and could offer more richness to tie everything together. 7/10 Seoul Bowl Kimchee, scrambled eggs, spinach, mushrooms, scallions, sesame seeds, and gochujang sauce. This bowl stands out for its balance of flavor and texture. The kimchee provides a welcome acidity and gentle heat, complementing the umami of the sautéed vegetables. The gochujang brings a subtle depth rather than overpowering spice, allowing the ingredients to harmonize. A thoughtful and enjoyable fusion dish that feels both comforting and vibrant. 8/10 Espresso Milkshake A playful combination of espresso and ice cream, offering both sweetness and a pleasant espresso bitterness. Refreshing, creamy, and surprisingly well-balanced. 8/10 Ambiance The café is small and inviting, with a warm and friendly neighborhood feel. Clean tables, casual décor, and a steady morning buzz contribute to an approachable and comfortable dining experience. 7/10 Service Despite a busy breakfast rush, the staff remained attentive, welcoming, and efficient. There is a genuine friendliness in the service that enhances the overall visit. 8/10 Price Reasonably priced, especially considering the North Vancouver location and generous portions. Final Verdict Tommy's Café offers a comforting, approachable brunch experience with a few standout items and a relaxed local charm. While not every dish reaches exceptional heights, the balance of flavor, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere make it a place worth returning to. I would happily stop by again to explore more of the menu on my next visit to the area.

Jalebi: enjoyed the slightly crunchy texture, but on its own it was a little too sweet for me. Would have again with tea. 2. Chickpea cookies: you know that delicious, melt-in-your-mouth quality you get with shortbread? These cookies were like that, but even better because they weren't overly sweet! 3. Shortbread sandwich: that's what I'm calling this treat, because it had two sun/star-shaped cookies with a layer of jam in between. The two elements were perfectly balanced! 4. Assorted shortbread: if I remember correctly, the flavours were lime and cardamom. Both were good, but not my favourites in this dessert box. 5. Heaven shortbread: definitely lived up to its name. Out of all the shortbread cookies, this one was the most buttery. 6. Apricot pistachio cookies: these were my favourite cookies. The apricot jam was sweet and tart, and the pistachios on top added a bit of texture contrast, which I always appreciate. 7. Baklava: I've seriously been missing out on good baklava until now. Despite the stickiness, it wasn't too sweet. And the mixed nut filling was sooooo good. The spices mixed in made this treat even more craveable! 8. Coconut macaroons: didn't even make it out of the parking lot before devouring these, lol. The macaroons were golden on the outside, moist and chewy inside, and the layer of cream sandwiched in between was light and airy. The perfect bite! Kourosh has become a go-to spot whenever my family has a sweet craving. Service is always super friendly and everything is very affordable. Thank you Kourosh!

Kourosh Bakery is located in Lynn Valley Mall which also houses their grocery store (Super Koroush). We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 4:00pm) to grab some sweets to take home. They usually offer samples but not during the pandemic. Their display cases had a variety of cakes, cookies, baklava and goodies. All sold by the weight ($9.99/lb). - Box ($10.00 for 10) - we opted for the coconut macaroons, walnut cookies, pistachio apricot, wild pistachio blueberries, apple filling and three pieces of baklava (cashew cinnamon, phyllo walnut and mixed nuts). The coconut macaroons and walnut cookies were similar in texture; soft and delightfully chewy. The pistachio apricot reminds me of my childhood (eating those Linzer cookies). We didn't love the apple filling or pistachio blueberry; more of a dry texture and it needed more filling. Baklava wasn't too sweet. Come for those deliciously soft and chewy macaroons! 3.5 stars.
