Stopped by Bodega on Main late night (10pm) on a Thursday and they were empty so it was easy to get a spot for 5 people pretty easily. Their interiors are pretty nice and a good place for a large group. It's a tapas place so you would want to order multiple things for the table because it's all shareables. Patatas Bravas: 5/5 this was my favourite thing from their menu. It was fried potatoes with a zesty, tangy dressing. Really enjoyed it! Chorizo iberico: 5/5 again, super garlicky and lots of flavour!! champinones: basically garlicky mushrooms! For dessert we got their - churros: SOOO good!! The chocolate dipping sauce it came with really made the experience better. membrillo y queso: such an interesting dessert, it came with machengo cheese and a jelly! It was salty, tangy and sweet. 4/5

I came here just to try paella and I was not disappointed! The menu said that the paella comes with two servings per order, but I was able to split it two other friends as the pan is quite large. We also got the soup of the day (a tart tomato cream soup with goat cheese), an order of ceviche (it had a bit of a spicy kick to it), and beef tongue (super tender and tomato-y) and was so full after! Everything was very delicious and the aesthetic interior of the restaurant really completes the experience. The staff were also very helpful and friendly so I'd definitely come back here again. The total came around to $35 per person (before tips)!

Nice spot for happy hour on Main St. Lots of seating and easygoing atmosphere. I enjoyed my red wine and the patatas bravas - nice sauce. The meatballs were just okay but was a good portion.

Came at a Friday at 4:30 PM and we were seated immediately--no need to make a reservation bc the restaurant was quite empty. Place was charmingly decorated and service was friendly. Food also came out pretty fast. Ordered: calamari, patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, arroz español. Would skip the gambas as they came out lukewarm and did not have a the garlic flavor. Calamari and patatas bravas was decent, arroz español was the favorite out of the four tapas as it was buttery and savory. Higher price point, but would be a decent place for the vibes and just to grab a drink.

I really enjoyed my experience here. We walked in and found a spot downstairs. We had some great recommendations from our server and some yummy drinks. I'll be back next time with a bigger group to try the paella and sangria pitcher.

Came here on a date and we ordered way too much food! But that way we were also able to try a bunch of different things. Apparently this is a really popular date night and group celebration spot as there were lineups out the door! Staff were attentive and came by to check on us often. Our server was knowledgeable and suggested great options. My favourite dish was probably the beef and then the paella!

Cool vibe Friendly staff Large bar Pros- Tons of seating Intimate dining Great for large groups Tasty sangria Paella is delicious- Salad tasty Cons- Paella DID not take 30 minutes as suggested Food came out in a weird way Some of the food came out luke warm which made those items unappetizing Fried chicken wings were very salty Overall a cool experience- Suggest- serve tapas before paella

Food: tapa dishes are very foodie friendly, the quality and dishes are prepared with great finesse, the paella senyoret is a must have, a dream come true for patrons like us, who enjoy clean and comfy ambiance Service: friendly staff, not the easiest to get a hold of, but did bring everything in a promptly fashion, it is a heritage establishment, so respect all the standards of services Ambiance: highly recommend people to take public transportation there, such as bus, uber, etc, if you are driving please park on national ave, not on back Love the photos of Spanish plays on the walls, takes customers down a memory lane Tables are old, it fits the overall vibe

Splendid place with Spanish tapas. We came here for the brunch but just ended up with a whole bunch of tapas to share. Portions are pretty reasonable. - fried chicken wings - these are really good - Patatas bravas - we loved the sauce. Pretty good. - mushrooms - great flavour - tortilla espanola - love the texture flavours and it goes well with the aioli - albóndigas - great sauce and flavour. - eggplant - not bad I would definitely recommend this place for some tapas.

We've been coming to la bodega for 30 yrs from when it used to be downtown in a heritage two story house. I miss that location as it was good for big groups and felt homey. The food is still awesome. Especially the happy hour menu. I always get the palates bravas, calamari, chicken wings, also divas and of course sangria!

We came here for girls night and shared the paella and ceviche. The paella was not bad and had many pieces of fresh seafood. The food was good but didn't make a strong impression. I might come back once more to try other dishes!

We had begun our night at Bar Gobo and just was not feeling it, so we decided to come to La Boqueria instead for dinner. We were able to get a table right away with a quick phone call, and they saved us a table upon our arrival! We mainly came here for wine and the delicious Pintxos, and between the two of us we shared a bottle of the Blasted Church Hatfields Fuse, and a platter of 5 Pintxos (great date meal!). Due to the current circumstances they seemed to be understaffed so the food was taking longer than usual so they offered us a complimentary dish of Pulpo a la Gallega - perfectly cooked giant octopus with potato, mayo and paprika - if I knew how delicious it was I would have definitely ordered it as an appy! The Pintxos are to die for - perfect for sharing. Our favourite was probably the negitoro, and the ultimate sardine. The platter of 5 is a perfect portion for 2 people and a great way to try a selection of Pintxos and a delicious explosion of variety of flavors. This place is a must-visit for seafood lovers, and such a unique offering comparing to the many tapas options in the city. My only feedback is I would have probably liked a more extensive list of red wine; maybe more full bodied reds? The cocktail list also looks amazing as well but sharing a bottle of wine is such a great date idea that we decided to leave the cocktails for our next visit. If you are looking for an unique romantic date night spot, I would highly recommend La Boqueria because it will be sure to delight and surprise your date with a great meal, ambiance, and great service. Truly a hidden gem in Vancouver for seafood and wine lovers. They are only open for dinner service for now so be sure to make a reservation.

The mushroom toast was rich, savoury, and full of umami. Just a heads up not to let it sit too long since it softens the bread. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. Not my personal favourite served on toast, but still really enjoyable overall. The paella was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp, tclams, and crispy pork belly chicharrón that added the best salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage completely surprised me and was easily one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. We wrapped things up with churros and shared a pitcher of sangria. For three people, it came out to about $68 each before tip, which felt very fair for how much we ordered. The slight heat from the sauce was perfect in cutting through the richness of the meat. - Chicken fried maitake - The coating was very flavourful but we found the the seasoning a bit too heavy. - Scallops - They were fresh and sinfully delicious with the sauce. - Sunchoke Dumplings - A dish with simple ingredients but it was easily the most flavour rich and balanced dish of the evening. - Hunters Chicken - I like that both dark and white meats were served on the dish. Although I generally stay away from white poultry meat but all the pieces were tender and juicy. The seasoning was a bit on the saltier side for us though. - Hay - The custard dish was interesting and we were told it's been the most popular dessert offering since the restaurant doors opened. I had the bartender mix up a "strong drink". It was a shot of JD mixed with something out a green mystery bottle. Hopefully it wasn't antifreeze. Came to $4.50. Not bad! My biggest problem (though this is not the only place guilty of this) is that the music is too freaking loud. I couldn't hear anything, and had to shout in people's ears. Yes there's a DJ there (and he's quite good, hello Snoop Dogg, blast from the past), but seriously, please turn it down a notch. The other thing I didn't like is that the interior is quite plain. The cozy converted house was full but not loud with dim lighting and close‑set tables for an almost home‑dinner vibe. From my visit, we shared three standout plates. The alcachofas con jamón paired confit baby artichokes with roasted onion and jamón Ibérico. It was a good balance of textures and classic Spanish seasoning. The ensalada de ajo blanco con tomates asados y atún semicurado brought a creamier, richer profile: silky almond‑garlic dressing on fire‑roasted tomatoes with chunks of semi‑cured tuna and a drizzle of ash oil that added a nice aromatic note. The arroz negro arrived with seafood mixed into deeply flavoured squid‑ink rice; it was hot, savoury, and rich, perfect with a squeeze of lemon and garlicky aioli. Service was a definite high point! It was warm, knowledgeable, and paced so we weren't rushed. Portions were generous enough for sharing among two, especially with the more substantial rice dish in play. That said, the overall meal trended toward the rich and dense, so pairing with a couple of the lighter salads or crisp wines next time would help round things out. Would recommend for for date nights, small groups, or anyone curious about Spanish flavours. Lighter eaters might want to mix in a salad or a vegetable forward plate to balance the richer offerings.

I could list them all by name but some of the names are quite long and might not mean much to anyone who doesn't speak Spanish! The Paella dishes are the filler dishes and then we ordered smaller appy sized dishes to get a little taste of things here and there. A noodle dish called Mariscos Fideua was highly recommended so we made sure to order that. On top of that we ordered 2 different types of Paella. One had chicken & rabbit in it while the other had squid ink in it. While the Paellas weren't bad, we all preferred the appetizer dishes better. There was a potato salad dish that had tuna and anchovy in it, which seemed to be quite the crowd pleaser at our table. I wouldn't have minded a larger serving of that. Whole roasted sea bass was also quite nice. There was at least one of each type of dessert on our table. A Basque Country Cheesecake, a Torrijas (Spanish style Brioche French Toast) and Ice cream. For the ice cream, some of us ordered Rum n Raisin while others ordered Turron. When we asked what Turron was, the waitress described it as an almond candy somewhat similar to Marzipan. After trying it...can't say it tasted anything like Marzipan to me. It had a nice roasted almond flavor, but it didn't taste like Marzipan and the texture was quite grainy. Enjoyed the flavor but would have enjoyed this Turron ice cream more if the texture of the ice cream had been smoother. The rum in the Rum n Raisin ice cream was very very strong! I half questioned whether it would be safe for me to get behind the wheel of my car after eating this ice cream! I have not ordered Rum n Raisin ice cream very often throughout my life so I could be wrong but my impression is that the rum should be more subtle and not quite so potent. Less potent would certainly be my personal preference even if it's not the standard around here! Still a good ice cream. Especially if you're someone who likes rum. Just a matter of personal preference. Service: Good Parking: Paid parking on the street
