Super fresh ... simple yet delicious!

Great find!! Its still possible to discover "New" Greek restaurant in this traditional Greek neighbourhood ... and so glad we did! First off people here a genuinely friendly, big smiles from the lady Boss and warm welcome from other staffs once we stepped inside, menu is simple and yet full of choices! Since we love grilled meats, we decided to go for the Platter for 2, oh wow, when it came out, I thought I was Fred Flintstone! Anyways, I have not had pork in Greek cooking that often, and was eager to try their Pork Souvlaki, one bite and I am hooked ( not many Greek places offers pork on their menus ), other items on the platter : Chicken Souvlaki, grilled Lamb Shoulder, Beef Patties, Pork Sausages, all came fresh off the grill with delicious char flavours! Oh and their fresh cut fries are also outstanding! For $65.00 this is a great value for such a generous portion of quality meats! As for sweets, please please try their Portokalopita ( Greek Orange Cake ) its a super super moist orange cake that goes well with a cup of coffee! Our Server Jack makes you feel relaxed and also very helpful with giving you recommendations plus a sense of humour! Street paid parking available, and if you venture into the side streets you may find free parking on your lucky day!

We found this place on Yelp after realizing our regular Greek haunt was closed for a private event. Had good reviews and we were excited to try a new place out. We ordered the potatoes, a side Greek salad and the lamb shoulder. While everything tasted good, well cooked and seasoned, we were disappointed with the value of the half kilo of arni for $35. It left us wanting more. I would recommend this place for family/friend gatherings, as more dishes are served tapas style/family style instead of an individual plate. But be prepared for a heftier bill especially if there are big eaters in your group.

Fantastic, authentic and delicious. The service was great, very knowledgeable and helpful. The decor is very fitting, stone walls, lots of wood and white wash, pleasant and comfortable. Clean and rustic modern. Two of us came in early evening for some snacks and chose all vegetarian items; they were great. Horta (Swiss chard with lemon and olive oil), side Greek salad (they also have a large and family size), saganaki and lemon potatoes. Everything was hot and fresh and very well flavoured. While we were dining several large pre booked tables came in, the rise in noise level just added to the traditional type atmosphere for us. :) We will definitely be back again, this is some of the best Greek food we've had in Vancouver. Our waiter also mentioned they often make special, more labour intensive Greek food like spanakopita (I forgot the list of the others) on weekends so we'll be sure to check back in on weekends to see what they're cooking up.

During our recent trip to Vancouver Canada my wife and I were recommended by a local to try the Nostos Taverna for dinner. Luckily were arrived a little early prior to the dinner crowd and were seated immediately. My wife and I split a Greek Salad, Tzatziki and Greek fried cheese and tasted great. The prices and service were also good. As we were leaving the customers started pouring which made us think this was a popular local hangout.

We started off with the Taramasolata. It was really delicious, super fresh and definitely do not have any fishy taste. The pita was lightly grilled and I had to stop myself or else I would have finish this dish before the rest shows up. Grilled octopus was perfection! I love the simplicity of this dish and how fresh the octopus was. We also have their house made chorizo. The tomato based sauce cooked with green peppers was another dish I could finish up all too quickly. The service was incredible, from the amazing recommendations from Tom to the servers who were all so gracious and really made our evening truly memorable. We love the bottle of Greek wine for our dinner. Lamb was well done too! We can't wait to try the rest of the dish. Reminded me of being in Greece all over again!

    Meat platter

Prawn saginaki was very rich and tasty. Could use a couple more bread for soaking up the sauce. Meat platter for 2 was also very rich and filling. Would have been better with a bit of Greek salad or veggies instead of so many fries. Service was very friendly.

    Meat Platter for 2

most authentic Greek food outside of Greece. Must try! Amazing service and wonderful atmosphere.

It was really awesome to try so many different types of cider. We also enjoyed the well made vegan menu and shared: Burger with side of poutine - the burger was very tasty, and the fries were top notch. The mushroom gravy was a bit too heavy on the corn starch or whatever thickener they used, making it weirdly gummy, and was somewhat lacking in flavour. But otherwise this was quite good. Jackfruit Tacos - we ordered an extra one. This was decent, but a bit underwhelming for me. The ingredients were fresh. As for the Pottery Night, that was fun! Anais, who runs the event was very kind and patient, and gave us guidance along the way. I ran out of steam after making a few Christmas ornaments, so my husband used the rest of my clay for his projects (ashtrays). I recommend signing up the next time they do this!

If I had to find a fault I would say the fries could be a little crisper. They have 19 ciders on draught, which are available by the 12oz or as a 4x4oz flight. I recommend doing the flight, as there are so many delicious flavours of ciders that this is the best way to try many. There is a small outside patio, and reasonable sized seating area inside. We were there mid-week for a late lunch, so they werent too crowded, but I can imagine this place is very popular in the evening and weekends. It's also a convenient short walk to Kitsilano beach. What better way to cool off after some sun than some cold cider!

A big thank you to Mallory and the kitchen staff! This review is 3 months late, but even a few months later, we remember our meal like it was yesterday and can't wait to return the next time we're in Vancouver. Getting to experience a Michelin Guide-recommended vegan restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip! We had (from the June 2025 menu): the Bread, the Broccolini, the Chickpea Tofu, and the Potato Cavatelli. Not a single crumb, morsel, drizzle of sauce, or even pea was left on the plates! Every bite was so full of flavor and decadent, we were so sad when the meal was over ;) The stand-out though was the Chickpea Tofu, the best tofu we've ever had and it seemed to just melt in your mouth. We also loved sitting at the bar that overlooks the open kitchen. They offer those seats for guests who want a more immersive, interactive dining experience. It was really cool to watch the chefs create each masterpiece. Overall a truly memorable and delicious experience!

I think I paid almost $27. I was really not impressed. The nugs. Tasted great. Half was still luke warm INSIDE the potatos so I'm guessing re heat on the pan etc. half hot. Half sorta warm. The bacon. Can anyone complain about bacon? It was great. The eggs... I liked the eggs but I wish they threw that on top of the bread. Because a wooden fork that doesn't pick up nothing. It was a mess to get the sunny off the take out container bottom. Otherwise the eggs was great. The toast... well I wasn't a fan of it. Maybe if it had been packed on the side in a bag I might of. I don't know. It wasn't great and it tasted sweet cuz of the salad they put on the other side of the bread in the box. I didn't like the salad. I don't like sweet salads and the dressing ruined the bread. Yep so the salad. The ingredients in the salad was fine. I just didn't like the dressing. Had this been dressing on the side I would have liked the salad. The avocado. I paid $3 for half an avocado. I wouldn't so much complain about that. If the whole meal itself wasn't such hit and miss. But overall. $27 including a $3 tip I was not impressed for what I got. And I'd dare say the highlight was the potatos even though half of the wasn't even hot. I would of really enjoyed the eggs if there was a way to get them on the toast (without the dressing contamination) without the egg breaking before I could get it on the toast (sunny side up) While I work practically next door, I can't say I would do this order again. Service was fast. For take out. Less than 10 mins. But I think I'd of prefer to wait 2 more mins if the potatos would of been reheated through

The menu changes constantly depending on what is fresh and in season. Take a look at my photos on this page to see the range. Last night an heirloom tomato and onion salad tasted like the last of summer exploding in our mouths. There are usually 4 - 6 different fresh pastas to choose from. We shared a halibut with tomato one and bolognese last night. These pastas are the definition of al dente. No place in Vancouver does it this well. There is an extensive wine list sure not to disappoint and make sure to start or finish with a cheese or two. The parmesan is mind blowing perfection. They don't take reservations and this outstanding restaurant is quite small and busy so be prepared for a wait. If you are going with a group larger than 2, the La Querica side does take reservations and I've found that to be an equally exceptional option. Just a little more casual on the L'ufficio side.
