Great atmosphere and decor -- it's definitely giving Greece vibes! Hadn't heard of this place until my husband found it online looking for a good Greek restaurant in Kits for Father's Day. Seems to be a family-run place and their friends and family were also dining and visiting, so it also felt very homey. We ordered the meat platter for 4 and had enough for leftovers. We waited a bit for this to come out, but it was worth it! My fave of the meats was the ground beef (keftedi, I think??). We also got the small Greek salad to share, lemon roasted potatoes, and grilled octopus. For dessert, we tried the phyllo dough with vanilla custard -- never had anything like this before but we truly enjoyed it! Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the share platter and it was a good amount of food for the table. I would have preferred more rice and sides instead of so many fries, but it did keep us nibbling the whole time. The patio is great for the summer and has a nice relaxed vibe. They also had Greek beer, which was fun to try since I had never had it before. Great find!! Its still possible to discover "New" Greek restaurant in this traditional Greek neighbourhood ... and so glad we did! First off people here a genuinely friendly, big smiles from the lady Boss and warm welcome from other staffs once we stepped inside, menu is simple and yet full of choices! Since we love grilled meats, we decided to go for the Platter for 2, oh wow, when it came out, I thought I was Fred Flintstone! Anyways, I have not had pork in Greek cooking that often, and was eager to try their Pork Souvlaki, one bite and I am hooked ( not many Greek places offers pork on their menus ), other items on the platter : Chicken Souvlaki, grilled Lamb Shoulder, Beef Patties, Pork Sausages, all came fresh off the grill with delicious char flavours! Oh and their fresh cut fries are also outstanding! For $65.00 this is a great value for such a generous portion of quality meats! As for sweets, please please try their Portokalopita ( Greek Orange Cake ) its a super super moist orange cake that goes well with a cup of coffee! We found this place on Yelp after realizing our regular Greek haunt was closed for a private event. Had good reviews and we were excited to try a new place out. We ordered the potatoes, a side Greek salad and the lamb shoulder. While everything tasted good, well cooked and seasoned, we were disappointed with the value of the half kilo of arni for $35. It left us wanting more. I would recommend this place for family/friend gatherings, as more dishes are served tapas style/family style instead of an individual plate. But be prepared for a heftier bill especially if there are big eaters in your group. read more

Fantastic, authentic and delicious. The service was great, very knowledgeable and helpful. The decor is very fitting, stone walls, lots of wood and white wash, pleasant and comfortable. Clean and rustic modern. Two of us came in early evening for some snacks and chose all vegetarian items; they were great. Horta (Swiss chard with lemon and olive oil), side Greek salad (they also have a large and family size), saganaki and lemon potatoes. Everything was hot and fresh and very well flavoured. While we were dining several large pre booked tables came in, the rise in noise level just added to the traditional type atmosphere for us. :) We will definitely be back again, this is some of the best Greek food we've had in Vancouver. Our waiter also mentioned they often make special, more labour intensive Greek food like spanakopita (I forgot the list of the others) on weekends so we'll be sure to check back in on weekends to see what they're cooking up. read more

During our recent trip to Vancouver Canada my wife and I were recommended by a local to try the Nostos Taverna for dinner. Luckily were arrived a little early prior to the dinner crowd and were seated immediately. My wife and I split a Greek Salad, Tzatziki and Greek fried cheese and tasted great. i wanted to like this place, had in fact requested it based on yelp reviews. is it possible to eat at a greek restaurant and have the odd feeling you haven't? maybe that, like so much of what i say lately, isn't very clear but that's about the best i can do. the menu has the usual and familiar items at most taverenas, but it's lacking somehow. i ordered fried anchovies and what came out looked for all the world like that very thing. but the key to these small fish like sardines or smelts or anchovies is that must be fresh... these weren't. in fact there was the telltale fishiness that made the entire dish unpalatable no matter how much lemon was squeezed on them. somewhere in the lineup was fried zucchini balls which were ok for tasteless fried food, but again no sense inside the things that the zuchinnis had been picked in the last week. tasteless is a word i rarely use, but do so here. the meat platter was generous, but uninspiring in the way only meat grilled in greece seems to do in spades. i found them better with a goodly measure of salt sprinkled on, which is cheating in a way. last up was the greek salad which would have been fine had there been more of it. this was the large order and it was enough for 1 person. we were 3. retsina was probably best of the lot, but for the price i'd want 750 ml, not a 375 split. overall, much as i wanted it to be good, it suffered from small portions of lackluster entrees, and an overpriced small bottle of resin wine. read more

We started off with the Taramasolata. It was really delicious, super fresh and definitely do not have any fishy taste. The pita was lightly grilled and I had to stop myself or else I would have finish this dish before the rest shows up. Grilled octopus was perfection! I love the simplicity of this dish and how fresh the octopus was. We also have their house made chorizo. The tomato based sauce cooked with green peppers was another dish I could finish up all too quickly. The service was incredible, from the amazing recommendations from Tom to the servers who were all so gracious and really made our evening truly memorable. We love the bottle of Greek wine for our dinner. Lamb was well done too! We can't wait to try the rest of the dish. Reminded me of being in Greece all over again! read more
