Greek Salad

Had a great meal at The Greek. Delicious Greek salad, of course. Very tender lamb youvetsi.

Came here as part of their "Fan Favourites" Promotion. We tried the moussaka, and lamb youvetsi. Both came out great and quite tasty. The Dip Trio was kind of a disappointment in what you get for the price (and there is never enough bread...) but it was a good starter. I think I would pick something else next time. The biggest disappointment was their Baklava. It was not crispy at all, and it was just not very good. A+ on the server for helping us celebrate our special night though, for that it redeemed itself from the mediocre dessert :)

Absolutely loved the experience. After a long flight and a long day, I had a very chill dinner of delicious food with the friendliest service. I made a reservation but had to change it last minute and they were so nice about it. My friend ordered a greek salad and spanakopita while I ordered the souvlaki platter. Everything was amazing! Her salad was full of fresh veggies and a home made dressing that I wish they'd bottle and sell. Spanakopita was crisp and perfectly baked. My platter was so full of flavor. The veggies tossed in a kind of tomato sauce, chicken grilled well, the potatoes with the right amount of lemon. I definitely recommend! They had good music playing (lo-fi) and not too loud and everyone around us seemed to be regulars so that should say something.

Stopped in for appetizers on a Saturday night. They were busy and there was a little bit of a wait but we were able to get in without reservations which was nice. The vibe inside is cool...we sat upstairs overlooking the string lights below. They have a decent but not overwhelming variety of options and we finally decided on the calamari (regular although they have a vegan version too that intrigued me) and the spicy baked feta dip with banana peppers topped with blistered tomatoes. The calamari was great - perfectly fried and the tzatziki made a good dipping accompaniment. The feta dip was good as well. It came with pita that wasn't as fluffy as I'd have liked but nothing wrong with it. Service was really friendly as well! All in all a nice evening in Gastown. Thank you, The Greek!

Greek place (surprise, surprise) in Gastown, right by Maple Leaf Square. Parking is pretty awful here. Not sure what to say. The inside is pretty modern and classy, with a mezzanine as well. However, on a summer day, the street patio is pretty awesome. Honestly I felt I was on vacation, with the bustling pedestrian area. Staff were friendly and professional. No complaints. Pricing is a wee bit high, but this is Gastown after all. My group of 3 polished off 2 2-person platters without much difficulty. Meat and skewers (souvlaki) were of good quality. Most of the filler was of rice, with some potatoes and some cooke vegetable chunks (peppers, zucchini). Both platters were served with souvlaki. Wouldn't mind eating here again, though a big eater can probably clear out a 2 person platter without much difficulty.

It was a delicious meal. I love coming to The Greek! Their sangria is also delicious. The service van be hit or miss depending on the night if they're busy. The ambiance is kind of the same. If it's a slower night, I find that it'll be more calm. On busy days like Friday and Saturday, the music is turned up really loud and the lighting is dimmed.

As someone who's been to both the Greek locations, this one is absolutely my favourite. I hosted a celebration dinner here and I can't even exaggerate when I say that it was the best special occasion dinner I've ever had. The ambiance is so cozy. The food was all really good. I especially like the new pork dish that they serve with fries (I forgot the name) and the platters are all amazing too. They have a house-made tzatziki that I think about ALL THE TIME. The drinks are also amazing, I've tried quite a couple off their cocktail menu, and they hit the mark every time. The espresso martini deserve their own shoutout. Absolutely incredible. However, what made this place the best special occasion dinner I've ever had was the service provided by Adam and Olivia!!! Beginning to end, the service was so impressive. I don't think I've ever dined at a local restaurant that made me feel so at home and taken care of. I felt like they went through lengths to make it felt special. We even brought in a cake that got smushed during transit and they did their best to fix it up for me and it looked impressively amazing. Seriously saved my night. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back. With so many restaurants in the area, this one is a gem

I was in Vancouver for a night and ended up meeting a beautiful date who wanted to take me to the Greek. It was an awesome spot right in downtown with a very cool ambiance. All the servers were super friendly and personable. One Ukrainian server came up before my date showed up and told me her life story. It was an incredible and humbling. My date and I split The Greek salad and the trio pita dip. It was plenty, and we had leftovers she took home. We split some dessert recommended by our server, but it was just meh. Service: 9.4 Food: 9.0 Dessert: 7.7 Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after trying once

5 of us walked into this restaurant without a reservation and was sat right away. We were drawn in by the 40% off house wines on Mondays and Tuesdays and opted for a decent bottle of red. The ambiance was great, except I wish the music was a little less loud. The service was great too - my partner asked our server to chill the wine after tasting it because it was too warm and they were very willing to do it. Now for the food. I was disappointed by the potatoes that were served with the braised lamb shank. Potatoes have a certain "chewy" quality if they're stale, and these potatoes certainly had that... I was expecting a bit more from a restaurant that charges $30 for a lamb shank that is 75% bone. Granted, the meat part itself was quite good.

Stopped by today (Monday) for a late lunch around 2:00pm. The restaurant was empty but still open for lunch! We got seated right away but our server was basically on the phone for the majority of the time. We waited a long time for our food after we ordered - we heard the bell ring from the kitchen but our server was still outside talking on the phone... Food wise it was pretty good. I had the pork souvlaki and it came over a bed of rice with salad, pita and tzatziki. Flavors were on point.

Stopped in for happy hour and enjoyed one of the best sangrias I've had in a while. So flavorful! I could have slurped down another but I had places to go LOL Staff was super friendly and very welcoming. Loved the whole vibe I there.

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot.
