Great food! The mushroom sirloin was delicious and my steak arrived a perfect medium rare. My wife's chicken parm was also delicious and the skin was so crispy. I ordered the Raincoast Greens Salad and it was quite delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the greens were crisp. My only drawback was that the cost of the salad alone was more expensive than most of the other dishes on the menu. Maybe this is standard practice now, but it seemed abnormal to me. I just wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink. Didn't even see or hear the beefed up guy at the door until he was suddenly behind me being verbally abusive about just walking by and ignoring him. He said all the seats at the bar were taken (they weren't) and continued to yell. Clearly I wasn't going to be allowed to stay and headed back for the door. Being sat on the patio took a moment due to there being only one host to seat people, but that just goes to show how popular the spot is, especially with beautiful weather. Our server was so friendly and polite, and fun to chat with. She followed all of the steps of service that are expected in great restaurants. I had the double Bellini and a Moscow mule, and my fiancé had the Blood 'N Blanco and Midnight Hour; all of them were delicious! The lettuce wraps were the best we've ever had. Great service, great deals, and excellent quality food. This was my first visit to Cactus Club, famous for their good vibes and yellow umbrellas. My friends made reservations at one of the larger tables with great people-watching views, and the couch was very comfortable and made relaxing on a Monday evening very pleasant. Our server, Courtney, was absolutely fantastic. She shared plenty of recommendations with us, and continuously kept us happy with several drink orders, and shared plates that kept on coming. I enjoyed the unique summertime drink options, with the frozen Aperol being my favourite. The menu options are broad, but provide the perfect amount of diversity. The sushi rolls were tasty, and the raw beef dishes were terrific. I was surprised to see such an excellent curation of art, especially with the reproduction of a Warhol near the washrooms. The team and management clearly love their space and the vibes that they curate. I hope to enjoy the patio next time when the weather is hopefully warmer. The place is great. We walked in during lunch time and we were seated almost immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious! It definitely lives UpTo it's reputation of being a great restaurant. The reason I took away one star is because I struggled quite a bit to find something to eat due to a shellfish allergy. The waitress had to check with the kitchen each time I requested for a dish which was about 4 different times until I told her it might be easier if the chef just told us what would be safe to order. It came as no surprise that only chicken or beef entrees were safe to order. This lunch was a real mix of an experience. The vibe of the restaurant, the front staff and the food were good but what really let it down was the service, which is surprising because Cactus Club is known for it's unyielding standard to service. When we sat down the booth was dirty with the previous guest's left over crumbs on the seat. We ordered a hot water and lemon and my cup had a lipstick stain on it and we had to chase down our server to replace it. This always surprises me. In college I waited tables for many years and not to check for such details before you serve is ....well...beyond me. Once she came around to replace it....It must've been another 15 min just to get a cup of hot water and when it did finally arrive ...she quickly dropped it off and disappeared again and there were no side plates, no cutlery and no napkins and so we had to decorate the table with the squeezed lemons...actually kinda funny now that I think about it....lol....I mean this is Server Training 101. When we asked for it she forgot...again. I ordered the The Med Bowl. It was nice. Many wonderful flavours going on. The falafel portion should've been slightly more generous considering that was the main side we picked as the addition to the meal and also it tasted a bit dry. But, the design and flavour pairing was great. The Raincoast Greens Salad I've had many times and still tasted the same. Fresh, plenty, light and filling...enjoyed it. I guess what I'd like to add here is that no matter how good your food is; when the service lacks it takes away from all else that is in parallel and harmony. If I wanted a salad just as good or a falafel just as good or maybe even better, I could've stopped by a take out place, paid1/3 the price and been done with it. We came by for Happy Hour and I must say I was pretty impressed by the menu. We ordered a peach Bellini, Joe's flat bread, ravioli, steak a frites and the cheddar burger. You can't go wrong with the Bellini it was delicious and it just tastes like fuzzy peach. The flat bread was my favorite! The arugula went nicely with balsamic vinegar reduction and the fig. The flavors were so complex and complimentary. The ravioli was also tasty but it was smaller than I expected. The steak and frites was great value but I did find the steak a little rough but you can't complain about it for $20. I Cheddar burger was super juicy and savour. This is a really good choice in Vancouver and Cactus Club Cafe has a great menu, great happy hour and if that isn't enough it has great service along with a nice atmosphere where you can relax, unwind and enjoy a nice meal or drinks with friends and family. Every item we had during our recent trip to Vancouver and their two locations downtown were all excellent and the happy hour choices are spot on. What I recommend is one of their Bellini's or a botanical cocktail which are really tasty and refreshing. Smashed burger - 5 stars for the one I had Dijon salmon - my entire family devoured this dish and it was a favorite for sure - 5 stars Butternut squash ravioli and shrimp duo on happy hour is another must try. $8.50 for only 2 of them but they are so good! 4 stars for taking into account value but I recommend them. The tuna stack with pesto was really good, melts in your mouth. The salmon bowl was delicious - I wish there was more salmon. Loved the tabouli rice and veggies. Number one- the staff, what a wonderful group of people, positive, friendly and super helpful. It was like we had a connected chain of positive hospitality from the moment we walked in. I had the Mediterranean bowl with falafel and I really enjoyed the beet flavour underlying the dish set against the saltiness of the olives and the feta. I was really craving some greens which is why I chose this dish to start with. The only thing that is really a pet peeve of mine is that there are televisions dotting the dining area. Ya so I have to admit I do love Happy Hour @ CCC ! Their Bellinis are by far the best in Vancouver - smoothly blended so they are creamy without those annoying ice chunks ! Topped off with yummy sangria. They also have alcohol in them - so that I actually get a buzz ! So tasty - and at $5 each - they are by far the best in town. Mini sliders are quite good, as well as the flatbread. Service is always on point - more then likely due to the fact they are always being tested by the secret shoppers the company employs. After seeing so many Cactus Clubs around Vancouver I figured it would be a homogenized chain of bars that weren't really worth visiting, but my co-worker brought us here as a last stop on our multi-bar night on the town. She loves Cactus Club and explained that each location is a little different because it reflects the neighborhood where it's located. As we walked in I noticed the DJ with his laptop at the hostess stand which was odd and awesome at the same time, mostly because his music mix was epic. We grabbed a few seats at the bar and ordered their happy hour cocktail special which was only $5.50. I also got their chocolate bar dessert which was surprisingly epic! Service was also fantastic as our bartenders were friendly, attentive and gorgeous to boot. Very rarely am I taken by surprise, but when it happens I'm always stoked that it's because I've underestimated a business. Cactus Club you've won me over! read more

It was my first visit to this Cactus Club location. Sam was our server and she provided excellent service. I ordered the Feenie(sp?) burger and it was delicious. Sam suggested the garlic truffle aioli and it was delicious as well. My partner ordered the quesadilla and he thought it was good. I really want to address how well they handled a couple of tables that came in with a half-dozen loud and unruly children that appeared to be between the ages of 4 and 10. Their parents seated them together and there was no adult seated at the table with them. They sat at a table next to them and although at first were intervening, as soon as their beverages arrived, they sat. The children were yelling, tearing up napkins and throwing them all over the floor, getting out of their seats and getting in the way of the servers. Eventually, every table around them asked to be seated elsewhere. The entire staff in the area handled the situation with such grace. As a former server, I understand the difficult and dangerous situation they were put in by these customers. Serving plates full of hot food and beverages in glass containers with children going back and forth between tables is a nightmare for a server. Your staff deserves a bonus after dealing with this situation! read more

Everyone from Vancouver has their own opinion of Cactus Club. You either love them or hate them. I fall into the 'love them' category. They are by far my favourite chain restaurant. Now there are a couple reasons that keep me coming back to Cactus, so let me tell you. 1. Their spicy chicken, dirty fries (secret menu item), pesto chicken quesadilla, szechuan chicken lettuce wraps, rainforest salad, and butternut squash prawn ravioli. At least 99% of the time I visit Cactus, I get one of these options. 2. Their creative cocktail and drink selection. Their current special is the whiskey sour smash, which in my opinion is my favourite drink on their menu. 3. Their vibes. Each restaurant is a little bit different, because they each reflect the neighbourhood they're in. This particular Yaletown location is one of my favourites because of the fun, lively, party vibes as represented by the Yaletown strip. 4. Level of service - I know there are a lot of people who would like to complain about the service from these "chain restaurants", but I have had nothing but excellent service from Cactus Club employees. From the moment I walk in the door to the moment I leave, it's always been such a wonderful experience. If I'm looking for a good patio to grab a happy hour drink at or just looking to satisfy my spicy chicken craving, I know I can always count on Cactus Club. read more
