avocado dip
Anna A.

Couldnt think of anywhere for a quick lunch after an outdoor trip, we settled at good old cactus club. they have some new happy hour items and as usual, their quality is quite reliable and consistent. We tried the avocado dip, honey fries and tuna temaki all items ate decent except the honey fries (with honey butter), taste is good but likely due to the high temperature of the honey butter, it made the fries slightly soggy when it arrived

Mushroom sirloin

Great food! The mushroom sirloin was delicious and my steak arrived a perfect medium rare. My wife's chicken parm was also delicious and the skin was so crispy. Something that could've been improved was the serving spilling our drink and she set it on the table - she didn't acknowledge the mess or wipe it up and I looked at it all night.

Great late night spot for a birthday celebration or girls night! Drinks are top tier quality and the ambience is very chic and trendy. I love the sichuan beans on their late night menu and the burger is a great deal as well!

Raincoast Greens Salad

I came here for a group lunch a few weeks back. The restaurant was quite busy already for having just opened that day, but staff were very efficient. I ordered the Raincoast Greens Salad and it was quite delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the greens were crisp. My only drawback was that the cost of the salad alone was more expensive than most of the other dishes on the menu. Maybe this is standard practice now, but it seemed abnormal to me. Other than the pricing, everything was quite lovely for a lunch out with friends.

Excellent food, drinks and service. We ended up there on a Friday night and were able to reserve a table online (highly recommended as they were super busy). They have a very nice drink menu and we got a cocktail and sangria. The sangria was simply amazing with peach and fruit in it, yummy. We also loved the calamari, crab cake frites and the steak was dynamite, so so good. I'm sad that we weren't able to go a second time, but hopefully we are back soon to try more items.

Came for a late lunch and caught their early happy hour which was amazing. Loved the crispy chicken sandwich and the kale salad. The crispy chicken was perfectly crispy not too heavy breading and great toppings and flavors. Kale salad was fresh and had delicious dressing with these awesome crispy chick peas Outdoor patio had a nice atmosphere and our server was fantastic. Bathrooms were very clean and very nicely done. Loved everything about our experience here.

Szechuan lettuce wraps, the Bellini and Blood 'N Blanco

Being sat on the patio took a moment due to there being only one host to seat people, but that just goes to show how popular the spot is, especially with beautiful weather. Our server was so friendly and polite, and fun to chat with. She followed all of the steps of service that are expected in great restaurants. I had the double Bellini and a Moscow mule, and my fiancé had the Blood 'N Blanco and Midnight Hour; all of them were delicious! The lettuce wraps were the best we've ever had. The lettuce was perfectly fresh and crisp, the filling was not too spicy and had a great crunch from the wontons. Would recommend if you are able to be a little patient!

Amazing food and amazing service. I had the chicken lettuce wrap. It was so good. The waitress brought me a refill without me asking. She was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Definitely will come back. Our waitress's name was Alexa B.

The place is great. We walked in during lunch time and we were seated almost immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious! It definitely lives UpTo it's reputation of being a great restaurant. The reason I took away one star is because I struggled quite a bit to find something to eat due to a shellfish allergy. The waitress had to check with the kitchen each time I requested for a dish which was about 4 different times until I told her it might be easier if the chef just told us what would be safe to order. It came as no surprise that only chicken or beef entrees were safe to order. I know it's not the restaurant's fault but considering it's a very common allergy, perhaps they could limit the cross contamination when ordering/storing produce

Great vibe Great price point Lively Fantastic drinks Great food Absolutely love this place! Best lettuce wraps I have ever had! Great fries and wings! This place is insane Can't wait to be back!

Hot water and lemon without someone else's lipstick stain please!
Mori N.

This lunch was a real mix of an experience. The vibe of the restaurant, the front staff and the food were good but what really let it down was the service, which is surprising because Cactus Club is known for it's unyielding standard to service. When we sat down the booth was dirty with the previous guest's left over crumbs on the seat. We ordered a hot water and lemon and my cup had a lipstick stain on it and we had to chase down our server to replace it. This always surprises me. In college I waited tables for many years and not to check for such details before you serve is ....well...beyond me. Once she came around to replace it....It must've been another 15 min just to get a cup of hot water and when it did finally arrive ...she quickly dropped it off and disappeared again and there were no side plates, no cutlery and no napkins and so we had to decorate the table with the squeezed lemons...actually kinda funny now that I think about it....lol....I mean this is Server Training 101. When we asked for it she forgot...again. I ordered the The Med Bowl. It was nice. Many wonderful flavours going on. The falafel portion should've been slightly more generous considering that was the main side we picked as the addition to the meal and also it tasted a bit dry. But, the design and flavour pairing was great. The Raincoast Greens Salad I've had many times and still tasted the same. Fresh, plenty, light and filling...enjoyed it. I guess what I'd like to add here is that no matter how good your food is; when the service lacks it takes away from all else that is in parallel and harmony. If I wanted a salad just as good or a falafel just as good or maybe even better, I could've stopped by a take out place, paid1/3 the price and been done with it. Service is everything....you know....in a service based establishment.

Truffle Parmesan Chicken with Potato Gnocchi, Mushrooms, Arugula, and Pan Sauce

Mmmm. Truffle Parmesan Chicken was absolutely delicious. It was also so cool to sit inside there and the food was lit af. The plates and glasses looked so good too and all the workers were classy af. Lit af I would go back!!

Plastic container for the Zen roll

Never disappointed with the Vegan options here tonight deviate from the reg and got the Zen roll and I'm sooooo happy I did! I have to say that I visit once per month through the pandemic and I'm never unhappy with their service or menu. I noticed even more new Vegan additions to the line up. I have one small suggestion, that they upgrade their take out packaging to compostable, biodegradable and limit waste. However everything else is Gucci!

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

My second drink was spreadsheet (beefeater, st. germain, lime, strawberry syrup, green strawberry bitters).
