Loula's is an upscale Greek restaurant with very cute interiors! They had a pink trees in their restaurant which was very Instagram worthy. The restaurant is a good size and can accomodate big parties. I would recommend getting reservation especially if you are going on a weekend! For drinks we got their kafe negroni and I'm usually not a fan of negronis, but the cold brew went so well with it! Would definitely recommend. The other one I really liked was their agora drink, it had coffee and orange which surprisingly tasted really well together! For appies - :: their Calamari was amazing! Perfect amount of crispy and yet not too oily. :: crispy zucchini was also good but was a bit bland. But I liked the concept! For mains, we got their vegetables and halloumi souvlaki and their arni psti which was roast lamb shoulder, mashed potato, and veggies. I would give both those dishes a 4/5! Love the vibe, elevated takes on Greek classics, decent cocktail and mocktail options, and impeccable service! My favourite items were the moussaka (presented as croquettes with tomato ragu underneath), tiger prawn souvlaki, and grilled broccolini (the fresh lemon squeezed overtop really took it to another level). I also got the kalamari, but found it a bit overcooked as the squid were tough to chew at times. To drink, I'd recommend the kafe negroni. If you enjoy espresso martinis, you'll love this cocktail too. The cold brew definitely comes through. Service all night was very attentive, maybe because my table was one of few at 6 pm on a weeknight. I was surprised, but grateful. Came back for a friend's bday and everything was SO good! Had a much better experience in terms of the food, and only the feta on the Greek salad was a touch salty. The chicken souvlaki was soo juicy, the spanakopita was great and the lamb chops were so tender. The set menu was around $60 with auto 22% gratuity. Also loved the spicy feta dip with the pita. Came to celebrate and catch up with a friend for her belated birthday and she picked Loula's. Decor is small but cozy with two small sections and the decor is super cute with white walls and blue decor to boost the Mediterranean ambiance. We came on a Monday and it was all day Happy Hour so the restaurant was quite busy. My friend ordered a sangria and we decided to order the trio dips, spanikopita, and calamari appies to start. My friend said the sangria was good. The appies come in a generous portion - the trio dips came with its own small plate of pita. We choose the spicy feta, tzatziki, and smoked eggplant. I usually love the smoked eggplant dip but didn't care for it here. However, my friend really liked the spicy feta dip. Spanikopita comes with two pieces but each piece was huge! It was creamy and delicious and we got an extra order so my friend could have an extra piece and take one to go. I had the calamari to myself as my friend is not a fan. It was a huge portion - more like a dinner portion. Was average but had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Part of the reason why I'm giving Loula's 3 stars was there was a Birthday and the music got cranked up, Opa! was shouted continously, and many many plates were smashed on the ground. I get it if the celebrations lasted for a few minutes but it went on for 30 minutes and they never turned down the music. My back was facing away from the celebrations, which was in the other section of the restaurant, but felt at least 2 pieces of broken plate pieces hit me - not cool. They also didn't sweep any of the broken plate pieces and just left it there for customers and staff to walk on and walk through. Definitely not a family recommended joint I would recommend. 5 appies at Happy Hour prices plus a Sangria worked out to be $68 before tips so not bad. Stopped by for dinner and had a great time. It was easy to make a reservation online. Restaurant was nice and service was attentive. We shared calamari, hummus and pita, as well as the souvlaki. Enjoyed all the dishes and it was enough food for two. The souvlaki was my favourite- we got one lamb and one chicken and it was well portioned. A friend and I have been wanting to go try this place for a while. It just so happened we were in the area for Italian Day and chose to dine one. A few things: - The staff were friendly and great with their service so grateful for that. - The location may be small but super cute. - They have a decent menu. - Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience. They had a DJ when we were there (even though it was around 2pm) and the music was super loud. It made it difficult to chat with each other as we had to tell or speak loudly for the person next to us to hear us. It sucked coz every table ended up doing that which got way too loud. - It is a little pricy for what you get but felt that not everything was the 'true/authentic' Greek food. We felt it was Greek food with a modern twist. - On a personal note, I found my dish to be a tad bit over salty. read more

Per media review, this is new authentic Greek on commercial drive. We came here for dinner on snowy night. I found the interior pretty nice and clean just the music a bit too loud. We asked for hot water before we settled down. Our waiter told us they don't hv kettle and no hot water to be served. Seriously? Restaurant has no hot water? -2 degree outside... My hubby would like to order cocktail Caesar and he said they don't make it. We ordered the dishes and turned out pretty disappointed. Greek salad - fresh but blanded Calamari - cooked squid to deep fried, turned out so dried. Lamp chops - just ok Pork ribs chops - it overcooked and sliced like Asian Cha Siu when it served. I was super stoked to return here only to find out that the menu changes seasonally so most of my items were not available and my dreams were crushed. We ordered to lamb meatballs, lamb chops, and fries. The dessert, whipped feta, and sides were all removed from the menu. I was pretty heartbroken and had to just eat meat and fries. I made a reservation a few weeks back for six people. I saw photos of a very pretty table with flowers covering the ceiling and I was really looking forward to eating here to celebrate my birthday. To our surprise upon check in they took us to the back of the restaurant in a separate closed off bar room. This space wasn't as cute and only had five chairs and plates. I was disappointed that we didn't get to sit where I thought we'd be and that it felt like we got shoved in the back to be forgotten about. The amount of chair/placemats was wrong, especially putting in a reservation ahead of time I excepted they would have everything ready. Our waitress was very pleasant and she always kept our waters full and checked in on us which was nice. Our food was good,but some people in my party complained that their food was to lemony and the music being to loud. Overall my party made it a lovely dinner and the food was good, but I just wish they took the time in the beginning to start out on the right foot. I ended up initiating ordering my birthday dessert even though I added a message about a birthday dessert in my reservation. Again I just feel like they dropped the ball. read more

I wish I could dine at Loula's every day for the rest of my life. Seriously. We were lucky to secure a reservation, which I highly recommend if you are planning to dine here. When we arrived at 19:00, the place was packed and we were happy to get a cute table in the centre of the room. All of the staff that we interacted with were honestly amazing - especially our male-presenting server who brought us a few samples of wine before making any decisions. As a low-key sommelier, I was thrilled to see 50% off bottles for the menu on Wednesdays. Before ordering, we ordered the espresso martinis, which by the way are phenomenal. I really enjoyed the thick creamy froth with cinnamon on top! After we finished, we settled on a bottle of the pet-nat rosé from Greece. Our group ordered several staples to share, and, we were amazed that we were not even able to finish everything. The calamari was to die for, and the greek salad took my breath away. I cannot even quite recall what else we ordered since everything was fantastic. My only advice for anyone who takes food home is to be careful with the olive oils, as they may leak out of the box. Not an issue for us - since we didn't have far to go and we could have ordered fewer items. I was a huge fan of the interesting bathroom art - be prepared to fangirl if you like Friends! Definitely don't come here if you're starving, you might break the bank. Been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally had the chance for dinner. They book up quick so I recommend calling in advance. It's quite small so be prepared that if you plan on going for a date night, you will need to speak up as it's very loud inside. Everything is meant to be for sharing so I recommend ordering a min of 3-4 dishes. We ordered their meliztanosalata (egg plant dip), saganaki, octopus, lamp chops and fries. Everything tasted great however if I were to do it again, I would order their greek salad and a couple more lamb chops as they are bit size as I think we had a little too much carbs.. One neat thing is their washrooms. If you are a big fan of Jennifer Aniston or John Stamos, go check them out and you'll see what I mean. Overall I can see why they are always busy as it's definitely one of the better Italian restaurants in Vancouver. Go check them out and let me know what you think. read more

yes, for the record, you need to book advance for this quaint little greek restaurant. the tables are a bit tight and the music does get loud so....fair warning there. now that that's over, this was our restaurant of choice for our annual foodie grp christmas gathering. i was too busy in my own little world - don't ask - so thank you a and e for ordering. all the dishes are done family-style so portions are larger and meant to be shared! drinks-wise - s had a normal vodka martini (which was not dirty enough for her), a loved her athni martini and while i did remove the cucumber frm my gaia g&t, i found the masticha liqueur to be too over-powering. now food, highlight was def the greek salad. vegetables were crisp, feta was great and the onions were tangy. i cant speak for the olives because i don't eat them lol. the octopus had a nice smoky flavour and done perfectly - not overly chewy. we all found the prawn souvlaki, while good, had parts that were too salty. we liked the chickpea mush on the side - it did help cut the saltiness a little bit. what rly helped was the prassorizo - greek leek risotto. it tied our whole meal together and the leek flavour was def present in the dish. so when do i start booking for my next dinner here? and yes i did check out the jennifer aniston washroom lol read more

If you want to catch COVID, come here. 1. No one checked my vaccine passport when I walked in. 2. Most of the servers had masks on down below their nose/chin. 3. Half of the kitchen staff, including the Chef weren't even wearing masks at all! 4. The staff were allowing multiple tables to stand and mingle WITHOUT MASKS all over the restaurant. 5. Staff were not asking new guests arriving to put masks on while they were waiting to be seated. It's disappointing because the food was really good. LOUD because their music just masks everyone's voice which made it very difficult to hear anyone. Plus, their staff was wearing face masks (good thing) but the loud music made it even more difficult to hear the staff :( Nonetheless, the food we ordered was great for sharing and during happy hour their prices were extremely reasonable. We ordered the signature dip by nammos (meliztanosalata), pork gyro, chicken boutakia, and spanakoptia. All in all, we spent about $65 after taxes and gratuity - very good. Everyone enjoyed the pita because was so so soft, a bit chewy, and perfectly charred - it complimented the dip nicely. The spanakoptia was good too but nothing out of the ordinary. The chicken boutakia was lemony and herby, not my favourite but quite flavorful. My favourite was the pork gyro, the pork was flavourful and cut into pieces and was complimented with pita, tzatziki, red onions, and tomatoes. Honestly, for a place that opens late, decent price, decent food, I'd recommend coming here and it is especially worth it during happy hour. In terms of ambiance, this place offers a hip contemporary remix on Greek restaurant offerings in the city. I had a good experience at Loula's but it's more in the 3.5 range for me because while it's solid - a lot of it is hype if you're looking for a foodie experience. The food was good but not particularly memorable. It felt overpriced for the most part when there are more options for heartier portions if you're looking for comfort-style Greek food - or if you're looking for that elevated tapas take, Anatoli still stands out. Like other reviewers have said, the music is loud (we arrived for an 8:30pm Wednesday reservation made about a month before - make your reservations early!). An ekmek fan at our table was not a fan of their ekmek. Wish the pita to dip ratio was a bit better. As a fan of ouzo, I loved the Oh My Zeus ouzo cocktail. Servers were all great and were wearing masks. Most guests make it a point to mask up if they're headed to the washroom. read more

Incredibly disappointing. We ordered: Kalamari - cooked well, but lacked salt / seasoning. The sauce made up for a bit of the taste Spanikopita - probably the only decent dish, but could've used more spinach. Chicken - SO disappointing and SO over priced being $20 for FOUR DRUMSTICKS. Chicken was dry and over cooked. Under seasoned despite being "marinated for 48 hours" Octopus - the server sold us on this being fresh off the grill. The octopus itself did not taste fresh as it had a very chewy, jerky like texture. The grill taste was overtaken by the olive oil that was drenched on. Potatoes - tasted ok, but was super over cooked with a very mushy texture throughout. We were looking forward to the crispy outside, soft inside texture that was sold to us in IG photos. I'd also like to mention that the person seating us had his mask pulled down the entire time while talking to us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. There were also many staff that weren't wearing their masks properly and they were fine with people being seated and walking around without masks. It's obvious they're very loose with mask rules here, I can only imagine what other rules they're also loose with. Overall, food ranged from lacklustre to sub par while being over priced. If I could give this more then 5 stars I would! I booked us for my boyfriends birthday party of 20 people for dinner, and wow they pulled out all of the stops. As we were a large party we had the set tasting menu, and I can honestly say I have never seen such high quality, well portioned, and not to mention TASTY food provided for a set menu. In my past experiences with set tasting menus they usually do not bring enough nor bring the more expensive dishes, but Loula's vastly changed that concept. Our group of 20 left full to the brim (with leftovers to spare), and got to try many of their stand out dishes, including; the saganaki, kalamari, lavraki, rotisserie pork, lamb chops and the octopus. In addition to the food being top tier, the service was immaculate. The GM, Nico, was hospitable, kind and made sure to make my boyfriends birthday feel incredibly special. He went out of his way to ensure everyone was having a great time, and left us feeling very welcomed and taken care of. The server for our party was a star, and handled our large party (and many drink orders) with complete grace. She managed to keep our bills perfectly organized, while staying very friendly and engaging! To end off the perfect evening, they brought out all the deserts on the menu along with sparklers, and sugar plates for smashing! A simple few touches that rounded out to make one of the best birthday dinners I have ever been to. Headed to Loula's today as it was my wifes birthday. Due to the nature of the event we had one extra guest added to our party and upon requesting the staff we were met with the worst hospitality/service i have seen in a long time, this person was either the owner or a really bad server who definitely doesnt belong in this industry. After i suggested a solution to the predicament, we were told there is a 2 hour seating policy right as we sat down and hadnt even received our menus. Due to this we decided to just have a drink and leave this terrible restaurant. I wish them the best but i will never ever be a customer nor would i recommend them as a destination fo family/friends. Menu was confusing to look at with the dark light and the type of text. Had to flag a server over to explain how to order items off the menu. Ordered the pita with tzatziki, calamari, spanakopita, potatoes and 1/2 kilo of lamb. All good items were quite good and portions were enough for three. First of all, it is a very very loud place, the music was very loud, almost to a torturous level. The food was good, but service was not. The server was a bit aloof, specially towards the end.
