It was full of flavor and wagyu was tender. Great item. Tonnato was also good. Very solid item. I did not have stacciatella. Tapenade was sour side, with strong olive and roasted pepper flavors stand out. Vongole(savory clams, fermented Taragu mares chilli white wine and parsley, squid ink linguine) Highlight! Clam and Vongole sauce were very delicious! Squid ink linguine was also good. It was good to have sauce with bread. Bistecca(Babette steak, Amaro jus, garlic scapes, frisee and hazelnuts) This item was also very delicious. Medium rare steak was tender(a bit chewy) the garlic scapes, hazelnut and frisée combination was excellent. i really enjoyed having together with meat. Overall, I really liked this restaurant. I would like to visit late night next time.

It had gruyere cheese, honey and Dijon mustard. It was super addicting. The chorizo was oily and savoury. Might come in just to share this The steak tartare ($17) was not bad. Bread was nice and crunchy. Would have been nice if it had a bit more seasoning on it Gambas ($18) the prawns were huge and perfectly cooked. Had a good snap to it. Wish it had a bit more garlic flavour Espresso martini was okay. Nothing memorable. Wouldn't order it again. Service was great. Super friendly and nice. They came to check on us multiple times. Food came out fast. Overall would come back for some quick snacks and try more of their cocktails

My friend and I got espresso martinis for $10, which I thought was a steal of a deal! Plus, the espresso martini was one of the better ones I've had. Not too sweet; smooth; very easy to drink (multiple of, haha). The food menu is a mix of small bites, plates, and build-your-own charcuterie. The latter was the standout. Other than the charcuterie, what I had was decent. Small bite: anchovy with honey and walnuts on baguette slice - delicious, although the honey kind of took over towards the end. Plate: beef tartare with tomato water, egg yolk, and capers - I feel bad saying this, but honestly the most flavourful part of the tartare were the capers. And the bread on the side! Dessert: Basque cheesecake - rotating flavours. This one was chocolate. I liked it, but found it was not as smooth as previous versions I've had. Charcuterie to the rescue! We selected the bresaola from the meat section and Sheopshire blue from the cheese section. The charcuterie also came with house-made lemon pepper jam, olives, nuts, honeycomb, and crackers. Every element, on its own or all together, was delicious.

I'd describe it as more "nouveau Japanese" than a typical izakaya place (I was expecting ramen and fried food when my daughter said we were going to an izakaya), but it FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. We enjoyed the salmon, tuna, red crab, and hamachi and each was a creative delight, both in flavor combinations and presentation. They even were kind enough to adjust the serving sizes as some dishes had 2 pcs but we had 3 people, so they added a piece to accommodate (charging accordingly, of course).

They also had a TV playing episodes of Naruto which was a throwback to my childhood, but in a very classy way.  The service overall was also fantastic. They were all very friendly, and were able to answer our questions related to the menu, providing recommendations based on what we liked for both drinks and food, but honestly, given the quality of everything we ordered, any item on their menu would hit the spot.  We ordered the Tonka, Kuri, Mango and Ume. Of the four we thought the Kuri and Ume were the most delicious, with the Kuri tasting the most unique. For food, we ordered the BGB King Salmon, Prawn Toast, Red Crab, Hamachi Tartare and the Ice Cream Sando. Each item was meticulously prepared. Our favourite was the Red Crab, as the blend of crab, tamago salad, truffle, on a toasted piece of milk bread, was fantastic, our favourite bite of the night. The hamachi tartare was my second favourite, as each delicious bite was complimented by the fried noodles on the side. We had a fantastic experience overall. Great service, food, and vibes inside. Seating did feel a bit cramped however nothing out of the ordinary for an izakaya. Would 100% return to try the other cocktails on their menu and eat another bite of the Red Crab. Side note, the audio in the washroom was a pleasant surprise!

They were served with fresh grated horseradish which I rarely see. There were also a few sauces to try with the oysters if you want to get a little more variety We ordered Garlic Prawns in a tomato sauce, Steamed Clams in a wine sauce, and a ton of garlic bread to dip. I could have just eaten that and been happy. Fried Oysters are massive and come fully loaded with sauce and garnish Po-boys are almost like a half Po-Boy on that same garlic bread 1 lb bucket of crab - snow crab served with butter - we even dipped this in the tomato and wine sauces This was just a fun experience using our hands and making our way through the pile of seafood delivered to us. It was quite hot the day we went, so we had to survive the outdoors and partial sun. But overall, really good time for everyone in my family. They gave us a few wet wipes, but there was no way they would get the job done. I needed a sink to handle what my hands had become by the end of the meal. We had the best time at Odd Society, and I am still smiling two days later. Initially perplexed,…read moresince our Uber dropped us off one block away, we had no idea where we were in the dark of the Canadian night. Surrounded by warehouses, did the driver want us to experience a "call of the wild?" However, Odd Society beckoned one block from the corner, and two seats were available at the strange bar. Strange because our view was blocked by a kind of ersatz plastic and wood wagon wheel blocking our view of the servers and bar. It was reminiscent of Utah's Zion Curtain. Later, I was told it was part of Odd Society's Covid protection and helped the bartenders stack things up. Okay, fine, but tear the damn things down. They're obnoxious. Odd Society creates an array of liquors made from ingredients sourced locally by law. It's required by their license. I tried almost all of them, and most were fantastic. Abby and Colin, our servers, were charming, fun, and educational, answering my questions, which became increasingly inane as the alcohol took effect. The distillery also mixes fantastic cocktails, and mine, named Midori, was friggen unbelievable. I had two of them along with my liquor tasting. My Midori was made with a special concoction called Portuguese Sweet Milk, or something like that. It was amazing. I want one for breakfast. The fun kept coming, and I didn't want to leave. Alas, we had reservations at Lunch Lady up the street. We should have stayed at Odd Society. Lunch Lady was a disappointment. Try Odd Society out as both a distillery and cocktail bar. You won't be disappointed about either one.

I have a friend who loves to drink so when he was back in town, I bookmarked this place to bring…read morehim to as I saw many great reviews and pictures. In summary, the place was ok, but noticed after the fact that we were overcharged for the drinks. It's a small space - about 3 high tables, one lower one, each seating 4 to maybe at most 5 people, plus a bar. I reserved a table for the 2 of us at 3:30 pm on a Sunday (earliest reservation they had as they open at 3 pm) and we were seated at 3 pm. They checked our vaccine passports and then seated us. Not long after we were seated, the remaining tables were all taken just after opening for 30 minutes so I would recommend reserving if you prefer tables over bar seating. The waitress brought over a drinks menu and food menu. The menu showed cocktails at $13. We chose our drinks and ordered, then the waitress came by with a second menu that she said was for Sunday only. She apologized and said she normally doesn't work Sunday's so she didn't know this promotional menu was available. This menu had some cocktails on promotion that I would have not minded to try, but I had already received my cocktail. Oh well. I had the Violet and Claire, which looked great and tasted pretty good for the first half. However by the second half of the drink, it started to taste too sweet. It was not bad for a cocktail, overall. My friend said the Smoke Between the Sheets cocktail was alright as well. We got our bills quickly as we had a second place to visit afterwards. After paying, I snapped a picture of the bill at the time but did not notice until I got home that to my surprise, each cocktail was listed on the bill at $14.95. I recalled their physical menu saying $13, and verified this with their menu online. Unfortunately, I did not notice the discrepancy until I was home, otherwise I would have mentioned something. Note that our visit was at the end of November 2021, and at the time I'm writing this review (December 26, 2021), their online menu still has cocktail prices at $13. So, I am not sure if this was a one time mistake when we paid, or if they have just forgotten to update their menu? Either way, this was disappointing. Because of the entire experience I probably won't visit again, especially with all the other options Vancouver has for cocktails.

I was over it, but we put a name down and walked down to find a bar for a drink and bites. They sent us a notification 30 minutes earlier than quoted so we finished up at the bar, paid our tab and walked over. We were seated in the corner area that only had one other table neighbor. Our drinks were great. The presentation even more entertaining. None of us were particularly hungry, but the table decided to get the donuts. Let me just first mention that it was dark af in there. We got two orders so that two people could share one. I took two bites and knew something was off. My friend took a bite and immediately said it didn't taste right. The other side took a bite of theirs and said the same thing. One person decided to turn the flashlight on their phone and flashed it at both plates to see what exactly was wrong. Them donuts were burnt. Fully. We called our server over who confirmed they were in fact burnt and told us she would take them off the bill. It was a bummer to have this be the end of our first day in the city.
