Had dinner here recently and its quite different from the average Greek restaurant in Vancouver as the dishes are more of a sharing style and the prices are on the higher side. We tried their moussaka, calamari, dip with pita and the grilled broccolini. The calamari was my favourite as the pieces were nicely battered without being too oily after being deep friend. The ambiance is definitely a little more high end with nice lighting and a lively vibe. read more

We had a wonderful Friday evening at Nammos Estiatorio after work, and thankfully, it wasn't too crowded even with a reservation. We found a cozy booth along the wall. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, and the service was quick. We kicked things off with some drinks. We should have arrived 30 minutes earlier to enjoy their happy hour. Their drinks are both strong and delicious. It's a fantastic opportunity to try something new, especially since you don't get to experience Greek spirits every day. The food was just as tasty. We started with the calamari and the house spreads - we had the hummus, tzatziki, and roasted eggplant dip. It was so good that we had to order more pita bread. For our mains, we shared three different dishes: short ribs, lamb meatballs, and lamb roasted shoulder. The flavors were rich and well-seasoned. That, combined with their drinks, was a perfect match. Don't come here after eating a snack beforehand; make sure you're hungry because you'll be finishing your plate and the person you're with. I have been here three times now. Each time, I've had an excellent meal, the service was attentive, and I felt the prices were very reasonable. I LOVE the moussaka here! It's become my go-to meal. Always excellent. We've also had chicken here (also excellent), and the potatoes and Greek salad sides are fresh and flavorful. The baklava is also excellent. (Can you tell we love the traditional Greek dishes? lol). They have a decent wine and cocktail menu here, too. even though it's not a Greek drink, I've ordered sangria here in the summertime and, man, they made it very well! You can tell this is a popular neighborhood restaurant. The servers and the majority of diners here seem to know each other well. And if feels like this place has been in business for a while, too. That says a lot. In the winter, the restaurant interior is so pretty, bedecked in lights, and in the summer, there's a great patio outside. Also, I've always been lucky finding a parking spot on the street, regardless of season. This place has become our go-to Greek restaurant, despite many Greek places closer to me in Yaletown. We've had dinner here a couple years ago and I remembered how juicy the chicken souvlaki was and the roe dip so I had to visit again for lunch recently with a friend. We ordered the beet and orange salad, the roe spread with bread and a chicken souvlaki skewer to share. Family style Greek - hell yeah! We took my dad here for his bday and had 8 people total so we did family style set menu and oh my goodness IT WAS SO LEGIT! Highly recommend if you're celebrating a special night with a crew, go to Nammos! We got so much food and every single plate was delicious from the Saganaki to the chicken souvlaki to the beets and dips oh god the dips so damn good! We also had a pescatarian in our crew and they made sure he had plenty to eat! They also char their pita and it's so flavourful. It's a little on the pricier side of things for Greek food, but... Small menu, but delicious food! Personally, I really enjoyed the Oktapodi. The octopus was grilled to perfection and the sauce very unique and refreshing. My 2 other friends each had their own favourite. 1 enjoyed the moussaka and the other their prawn souvlaki. The kalamari was good, but not the best one I've had. Service was normal. I do wish their ceilings were a little higher though, it gets pretty noisy. So not an ideal place if you want to have a nice quiet conversation. I do like that they're dog friendly with their patio though. read more

Ok so this is the underdog of Fraserhood - take my word for it. Did you ever go to Earnest Ice Cream on Fraser and while in line, notice a solid crowd of diners on the patio right next door? Because I did. Years later we finally venture to Nammos Estiatorio. Reservations were made the week of and to our surprise, they seemed to be pretty based on the limited availabilities online. To our surprise the interior seating space was rather unoccupied during the dinner rush on a Friday night. Several tables filled after we ordered, we did notice the odd occasion that pets (absolutely not service dogs) were allowed in the main interior dining area... nonetheless, our server was attentive and very patient introducing some of their personal favorites for consideration. Classic dips with pita could not go wrong in the world of Greek / Mediterranean cuisine. The salmon dip was divine. It was the perfect blend of salty umami-ness, a light and airy consistency and paired to a tee with warmed pita slight charred to taste. The lamb chops cause our eyes immediately, second to the lamb shank which will be on the top of our order the next time around. Lamb can easilyyy go wrong - over pr undercooked, overpowered by spices or gamey to taste. This lamb chop was cooked to perfection. Each serving consists of 2 chops, minimally seasoned so you can really taste the meaty flavours with each bite. The centers were JUICY, just tender and finger licking good. I have not had a better lamp chop dining out in Vancouver. Highly recommend. Note - minimum 2 servings per order. What intended to be a quick pre-late dinner stop ended up being the highlight of the evening. read more

Came here for brunch with my family and had a lovely time. The food was definitely elevated in quality and presentation: no rice pilaf here. The portions were a decent size and everything was very good. We shared some pita bread, olives and calamari and I got the moussaka. It comes with far too much sauce but I can see how it's a decorative matter. I tried some of the roast lamb dish and it was very good. Service was friendly and I would go back but at the same time, nothing was outstanding for me to make the effort to go back soon. read more

I've got to be completely honest, I've never been a huge fan of Greek food because it never seemed that spectacular for me. However, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at what we got for lunch during our visit. My biggest regret was not being hungrier to try more of their options but the food served was honestly really good. Top favorites were definitely the anchovies on toast. I was very envious of other parties with larger groups that managed to try more of their options. Great spot in a cool part of town. We made a reservation here for 2 people and it was quite busy on a sunday night. I loved the lighting, the setting and in general the ambiance of the place, very calming and high end feel without being too much. We ordered a few dishes including the kalamari, trio dip, oktapodi, and paidakia, many of these based on the recommendation by one of the waiters. We also got served olives which we didn't order, so we thought it was complimentary but we ended up getting charged for it. Despite that, everything that we ordered were excellent! The oktapodi was such a simple dish but one of my favorites. The octopus was cooked to perfection with simple olive oil and pickled onion. The paidakia also surprised me, I've never had lamb that tender and flavorful, every bite was a juicy goodness. Our dip came with the tirokafteri (spicy feta), melitzanosalata (eggplant), and taramosalata (smoked fish?) and our lamb came with the tzatziki so we got to try everything. I especially loved the melitzanosalata and the taramosalata. The eggplant was so fresh on the warm bread and the fish dip was so rich, decadent and smooth. Overall, it was a really great experience but on the pricier side. Our bill came out to be over $140, which I felt was expensive considering the amount of food we got. read more

Met a group of friends for dinner. Interior of the restaurant was pretty & intimate. Decor was nice too. The staff were friendly & made good suggestions when we couldn't decide what we wanted. Since there was a group, they suggested that we do a group sharing plate for $68 pp. Great recommendation, there was so much food, several appetizers, the grilled octopus was so tender, got gobbled up pretty quickly. There was the fried cheese, unlimited amount of flat breads to go with your meal... baked fish... lamb chops, chicken, kebabs... it goes on & on. Yes... all of us had doggy bag as there was so much food. And YES... there was also dessert, some kind of donut drizzled with Nutella sauce. Possibly the best Greek restaurant in BC, but hold on to your napkins here . . . . . . It's also the loudest venue in the Lower Mainland. You will need to yell at the servers and everyone sitting at your table. There is not a modicum of effort to deaden the roar of this hockey stadium experience. We ordered calamari, a chicken and beef souvlaki, lemon roasted potatoes, a couple of lamp chops and the Moussaka to share. The lemon roasted potatoes were a tad too sour and lacked flavour when compared to lemon potatoes we had previously, and we found the portions a bit small for the price. Would definitely recommend the Rooibos Tea Lemonade to drink and the moussaka, which tasted fresh and packed with flavour. came here for a pre wedding dinner and while the food was great, it took forever to get each dish in the preset meal. there were like 7 veggies dishes before we finally got a meat dish and although the lamb and chicken were delicious, it wasn't worth such a long wait. service was good, they were attentive and explained each dish as they brought it out. we had a lot of leftovers but it felt like it was bc we were being served nonstop appetizers before a main course. Love the chicken souvlaki. The meat was tender and well marinated. You order by skewer which is awesome because it is a good add-on. Comes with a side of bulgur salad as well as tzatziki sauce. It is not as garlicky as other Greek restaurant so for those who prefer a milder taste, this might be the one for you. I also had the octopus. It is not an entree size but deeply satisfying. Our waiter came and explained the specials promptly and took our order. Since it's a tapas-style place we started with 1 appy (the eggplant dip) and 2 mains (spanakopita and chicken skewer). Their menu is nicely laid out to separate out the veg dishes as well which is nice, and there's lots of vegetarian options! The food came quickly which was awesome, and the portion size was bigger than expected! They're no typical huge Greek food portions but for a tapas-style plate there was lots to be full on. We were stuffed with just those 3 dishes. The food was delicious and the eggplant dip is a must try! As for ambiance, today was the first day that they were playing live jazz music which was a fun twist but slightly loud since the space is quite small. Other than that the restaurant has good sized tables for share plates and is nicely lit (dim but not TOO dim) Our server was also really attentive throughout the night, coming to check on how we were doing and filling our waters. Overall, I'm a fan of this spot! There's not a ton of tapas-style places in Vancouver so I'm glad to have come across a good one! I lived in Greece for 4 years! And I can say every dish I ate here tasted just like it did in Greece. I ate everything right up. It was so delicious !! fresh, flavorful and good quality food worth my money. Haven't eaten at a restaurant this good in a long time! The inside of the restaurant is also very cute! We went to Nammos for the first time tonight, having an early celebration of my birthday and CNY. We were promptly seated, server greeted us and explained how their dishes work (family style sharing dishes). Since we have 7 adults, and didn't want to think of what to order, so we opted for the YaYas menu, which is their chef designed menu from start to finish for $60 per person. It first came with pita with several kinds of dip, Greek salad, calamari. All the appies tasted good, nothing to complain about. We weren't huge fans of the dolmathes, potatoes and sea bream. I find the dolmathes was a bit too acidic and rice is too soft and mushy. They gave us potatoes and fries, and with all the pita bread before, it's just way too much starch. The sea bream was unfortunately so over cooked and pretty tasteless. On the other hand, calamari with beet sauce was very tasty, the chicken & beef souvlaki is very juicy and flavorful. My favourite is their moussaka, the layers of eggplant & zucchini, ground beef, mashed potato and bechamel sauce tastes heavenly, it's crispy, creamy and wonderful. As for dessert, we unfortunately had to wait for a really long time. Our party had two toddlers and a baby, so I felt really bad keeping them for such a long time. The server offered the kids ice cream, so at least could keep the kids happy. Our dessert finally came, it was honey donuts and bougatsa. They tasted fine, just wished the wait wasn't that long. I absolutely love the food here. The Bougatsa is my favorite dessert in town, sometimes I order for pick up. Other times the chef has let me take home unbaked Bougatsa along with a small container of the sugar and cinnamon topping. The service is great, and always very friendly. I enjoy the portion sizes, not too big and not too small. The Greek salad is an absolute fav. Another great dish is the chicken, rice, and lemon soup. Last week I was dropping something off at a real estate office. It was a gift for a buddy of mine who had lost his dog. It was a card and a stuffed animal just to make him feel better. I noticed a restaurant across the street named Nammos and I went over there to check it out and it looked great plus they had a decent size patio and the days of Covid that's pretty important I booked a reservation and a few nights ago my gal and I went there and had an absolutely fabulous meal. Everything was great I would say that if one thing wasn't top-notch would've been the calamari but other than that it was a fabulous Meal and would highly recommend it read more

Nammos is one of the few solid Greek restaurants in town. The food selection is good, authentic and tasty. It's a nice place to go to have a nice lunch or dinner with a friend or date as it's cozy, quiet and intimate. If you go during non-peak times it is usually not very busy. I recommend trying it if you are looking for Greek food and in the area. read more

Have you ever been to Earnest Ice Cream on Fraser and always wonder about this restaurant? I did and I never thought about checking it out until my friend recommended it. The food here is amazing! Must order are the lamb chops (so juicy) and ossobouco (so good)! The service is excellent. I would totally go back and check out the pastas. One downside is that it's a bit noisy. Otherwise, I would recommend checking this place out and keep in mind, they're tapas so no chicken souvlaki "platter." Lol read more

Ive been planning to visit this place long time ago,but since pandemic placed a lot of restrictions in ourlives it took a while for me to try this Greek place. There's patio area that seats few clients,thats a plus sign,i love places with outside seats where you can enjoy the good weather. The interior design is very nice it feels like i am dining in Greece. Large TV monitor, a whie and blue decors with large mirrors on wall,very clean place,roughly can accomodate morethan 30 guests. by the entrace the wall has a tile mosaic of an elephant and it was very very artistic,kudos guys im loving it. I ordered the spaghetti thalasinon,its a dish with calamari,squid,prawns,octopus and a choice of red or cream sauce,i got the red sauce. the dish resembled with the marinara or the paella dish. I have no single complaints with it,delish and the blending of sauce and the sea foods were cooked the way i like it. Wifi is free,street parking,also you can park on the residential area with no restrictions. Very friendly service,getting busy when i came and i was surprised that so many people still dining out despite the threat of this corona virus. servers wearing masks and hand sanitizer is all over the place.they also do contact tracing which is very very good. This place is okay for group and kids,if you have friends visiting bring them here for a good Greek cuisine. Noise level is average. Pricing is not cheap but im teling you you get good dishes in here. Accept cards and cash. I recommend this place for all the yelpers to check it out. My hubby so glad to see a Greek Restaurant opened in our neighborhood. We had the Greek salad was fresh and calamari just perfectly fried. However, the lamb chops was so salty and souvlaki chicken just ok. Good portions for the reasonable price. However, we left on our second visit after we got seated. First, no one come to serve us water and menu for 5 mins. Second, the music was so loud. Third, the big group of table drinking and laughing loudly. We are frequent repeat customers at Nammos however tonight was a fail. We ordered right away when I sat down fava/pita, dolmathes, greek salad and beef/chicken souvlaki. The fava/dolmathes came right away and was delicious. Then nothing......we waited and waited and waited someone came to take away some of our empty dishes. I finally asked a server if they could check on our food. They said the souvlaki will be out in 10 minutes, something about their system down. I said what about the Greek salad? she said I'll check. She comes back it will be out in a minute. OK....we wait and wait and wait and still nothing far past a minute. I flagged our server and said we'd like our bill we are really disappointed and just want to go home. She said it's going to come out in a minute and then leaves. We wait and wait...she comes back with our bill for $37.80 and says the reason it took long is because I staggered the order. No apology, no let me get the manager for you. So we left hungry and disappointed. Sadly we will not be your repeat customers anymore. It's too bad as the food is good but the service is not. read more
