AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. You can feel the respect for vegan food at this place and the owner is so incredibly kind. The chickpea tofu is transcendant and has the best mouth feel of anything I've eaten in my entire life I was literally salivating while eating it. If you love veggies and if you hate veggies, you will love Folke. I also love that they change their menu around so frequently and will be going back to try their new additions. It is also very reasonably priced but feels so elevated inside; they deserve their biannual spot in the Michelin Guide.

The food was excellent, as was the service. Top notch vegetarian restaurant. We did the Chef's choice fixed course option and it was terrific. Will return next time in the Vancouver area.

My friend and I decided to go here a little last minute, but we were able to make a reservation on Sunday morning for 5:30 later that day. We had a fantastic time! Started off with a warm welcome from the staff into the restaurant. Decoration is on the simple side, but classy and welcoming. To start, our waitress offered to bring us samples of any of the drinks if we wanted to try something without committing. We were both really intrigued by the orange wine on the drink list since neither of us had tried orange wine before, so we asked for samples of that. They actually brought us each two samples: the wine from the menu, and another orange wine that they'd just brought in and wasn't on the menu yet. The first tasted more conventional, the off-menu wine had a smoky taste yet went down easily. I was pretty into this one, but after two tastings I no longer felt the need for more alcohol, so I ended up ordering their Summer Soda instead, which was refreshing and only very mildly sweet. Our waitress advised us that for 2 people, they recommend 4-6 dishes, so we ordered the Beets, Tofu, Shishito, and Dumplings, plus the Plum dessert. The plates are all portioned for 2 people to share and the portions with this number of dishes worked out well for us - it was a very satisfying meal but I wasn't overstuffed. I think you could split the dinner plates with up to 4 people and everyone would still get a decent taste, but the dessert would be hard to split more than 2 ways, maybe 3. The plates were brought out one at a time, and someone from the kitchen explained each as they brought it. A few comments on each dish (they were all fantastic, this is just to give more detail than what you see on the menu) Beets: This was kind of like a tartare, and was served with crisps. I forget what they said the crisps were made of, but they were kind of different and very tasty, and also pretty light. I really liked the sweetness and floral notes in this one. Tofu: If I had to pick a favourite, this would be it! It was actually chickpea tofu, not soy tofu, which has its own texture and flavour. The tofu itself was very very nice, but the sauce ALMOST stole the show (and the radish, chile, and greens it was garnished with complimented the dish perfectly). I could've eaten that sauce by the spoonful. Shishito: This was relatively straightforward: shishito peppers, potatoes, and pickled onions in a simple soy-based sauce. What stood out was how everything was cooked to perfection and the quality ingredients. I'm not much of a potato person but I found myself enjoying the potatoes as much as the peppers here. Dumplings: Vietnamese-style mushroom filled dumplings in a light ponzu sauce. The flavours worked very well and the cooking was again top-notch. Plum: Fermented plum cake/tart with miso and citrus infusion, with cream and a crumble topping on the side! I loved that this included some unique flavours, yet even though the ingredients sound a little "out there", it wasn't one of those things where you eat it and it's overwhelming or strange at first, it was really very easy on the palate. Bonus Caramels: Not a proper dish we ordered off the menu, but they brought us each a caramel coated with nori flakes with our bills. I saved mine for the next day. The nori with the caramel was definitely a slightly funky combination, but I ultimately decided I was into it and it left me curious about other ways to incorporate nori in sweets, so this was a fun way to end the experience. Besides the great food, the staff was really amazing. Everyone was polite and passionate about the restaurant, and it was especially nice to be able to learn about the food directly from the chefs. This place could not have done anything better.

This upscale vegan restaurant deserves all the praise it gets. My wife & I went for date night on a Saturday. We made a reservation, but it looked like we probably didn't need one. The host and server were extremely friendly and personable, explaining how their dishes work. Basically, the dishes are made for sharing (ideally among 2-3 people), and they recommend 5-6 dishes for 2 people. We took their advice and it was about the right amount. Alternatively, they have a tasting menu ($75 pp) in which they select smaller portions of ~7 courses (including dessert). We ordered: -Bread ($10) -- this was a good way to start the meal. It's served with a buttery spread with a drizzle of butter-like olive oil. The bread itself is hearty, made with rye, leak and miso. Really solid. -Snap Peas ($24) -- such a creative dish! This was served with morel mushrooms, fennel, and dill, with a rich, tangy, pleasantly acidic dressing. I don't think I've ever had snap peas as fresh as this, nor this combination of ingredients. Delightful dish. -Dumplings ($19) -- the dumplings are stuffed with mushrooms primarily, and topped with a thin bok choy-like Asian green. The wrappers are made of tapioca starch, which gives them a wonderful chewy and glutinous texture. Very tasty. -Potato ($18) -- new potatoes sitting in a miso gravy, topped with a massive kale chip and garnished with fresh shredded kale, chili spice, and a few slices of chili peppers. Another delicious dish. -Broccoli ($20) -- we both agreed this was the highlight of the meal. The broccoli florets are roasted, then they layer on the roasted stems, and garnish the top with thin slices of the stem. The sauce is absolutely divine, served with fried bread crumbs, toasted sunflower seeds and who knows what else to create that explosion of flavour. Just phenomenal. -Turnip ($23) -- lightly cooked turnip, with some fava beans, served in a rich buttery sauce, and garnishes with raw and cooked pea shoots. Wonderful way to end the main part of the meal. -Strawberry ($16) -- pleasant dessert, served in a tart, with a thin cheesecake base, and filled with fresh strawberries, a bit of dried strawberry, roses and ice cream. It all goes well together. My only complaint is that the shell is quite hard, so it's hard to slice without the tart crumbling and shooting off your plate. Oh well, was very tasty. Another nice thing about this restaurant is that they paid their staff enough so that gratuity is included in the price, a nice touch for those annoyed at the North American tipping culture. All in all, this place is pretty fantastic. It's nice to see more plant-based fine-dining restaurants in Vancouver (I think I prefer this place to the also excellent Nightshade in Yaletown). Highly recommended for a special treat.

DELICIOUS vegan restaurant with tasting courses so you can try everything! I loved the agnolotti, dumplings and the tofu! A lot of these dishes had Asian flavours and ingredients so I really enjoyed it. The service is super great and they're very accommodating. I was so shocked when we couldn't choose which dessert to share so they gave us both!! It's a perfect spot for dates or celebrations.

Possibly some of the best vegan food I've ever had - EVER. And my standards are very high when it comes to what good plant based tastes like. Service was very good, dishes came out pretty fast, and everything was surprisingly very filling. I went on the Greek menu takeover day but I have to say, that I possibly tasted the best hummus of my life; if it was on their regular menu that's reason enough to go back.

It was really awesome to try so many different types of cider. We also enjoyed the well made vegan menu and shared: Burger with side of poutine - the burger was very tasty, and the fries were top notch. The mushroom gravy was a bit too heavy on the corn starch or whatever thickener they used, making it weirdly gummy, and was somewhat lacking in flavour. But otherwise this was quite good. Jackfruit Tacos - we ordered an extra one. This was decent, but a bit underwhelming for me. The ingredients were fresh. As for the Pottery Night, that was fun! Anais, who runs the event was very kind and patient, and gave us guidance along the way. I ran out of steam after making a few Christmas ornaments, so my husband used the rest of my clay for his projects (ashtrays). I recommend signing up the next time they do this!

If I had to find a fault I would say the fries could be a little crisper. They have 19 ciders on draught, which are available by the 12oz or as a 4x4oz flight. I recommend doing the flight, as there are so many delicious flavours of ciders that this is the best way to try many. There is a small outside patio, and reasonable sized seating area inside. We were there mid-week for a late lunch, so they werent too crowded, but I can imagine this place is very popular in the evening and weekends. It's also a convenient short walk to Kitsilano beach. What better way to cool off after some sun than some cold cider!

The menu changes constantly depending on what is fresh and in season. Take a look at my photos on this page to see the range. Last night an heirloom tomato and onion salad tasted like the last of summer exploding in our mouths. There are usually 4 - 6 different fresh pastas to choose from. We shared a halibut with tomato one and bolognese last night. These pastas are the definition of al dente. No place in Vancouver does it this well. There is an extensive wine list sure not to disappoint and make sure to start or finish with a cheese or two. The parmesan is mind blowing perfection. They don't take reservations and this outstanding restaurant is quite small and busy so be prepared for a wait. If you are going with a group larger than 2, the La Querica side does take reservations and I've found that to be an equally exceptional option. Just a little more casual on the L'ufficio side.

For dinner we shared a diavola pizza and smoked salmon parpadelle. The pizza was good but the crust was soggy. The salmon parpadelle was good but I think it would have been better with another pasta - spaghetti, linguine or fettucine as the pasta could not be twirled with a fork and spoon and had to be cut up. The service was excellent. When our server Malaka heard that we were coming in from Abbotsford she said that she would give us the "best seat in the restaurant".
