This is a very loved cafe - it was busy and definitely full of great meet ups, lunches, to go treats and study sessions. There is an amazing amount of seating inside and outside and has a wheelchair/baby stroller friendly entrance but there are still steps from the two levels so be aware if you're heading there. The food was great and we ordered a sandwich, breakfast sandwich and scramble (with of course, some sweet treats!!). You order at the front and then they give you a number and you find seating. The kitchen was definitely busy bringing over dishes and baked goods. The food was good and the chocolate chip cookie was the fan favourite amongst my group. The sandwich was good and came with chips. Scramble was also good but nothing particular to write home about, would be nice if it came with a piece of toast! Thought it'd be a tourist trap but I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely large cafe with lots of upstairs seating and patio seating. Really enjoyed my French Onion Soup ($15 I think), also ordered sourdough bread on the side which came toasted and lightly buttered! Side of bread cost a few dollars more. French onion soup was delicious, nice and cheesy with soaked through bread inside. Flat white was good too. I didn't like their cinnamon twist pastry though, very little cinnamon sugar and it wasn't really flaky. Staff were friendly and decently quick on service. Bustle cafe at 9:30am on a Sunday. My friend recommended me to go to this place and we went together! I thoroughly enjoyed my time. The staff was very kind and as much as it was busy, it wasn't overstimulating; it was quite lively! The interior was cozy as well. I ordered the chocolate babka and an iced matcha latte. The chocolate babka was to die for!! However I wish I had the option to heat it up. Honestly, would prefer to give 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up. Visited here for a casual lunch the other day with my kid. Because we visited mid-week, and at an off-time (around 2:30-3pm), the place was fairly empty. We were taken by how cute this cafe is! Really charming, inside and out (the interior is lovely, and they also have a fabulous, large outdoor dining area in a courtyard! Because there were so many mosquitos out, we decided to dine inside). The display case at the front counter was heavily laden with the most beautiful pastries and quiches and cookies and dessert bars and scones and muffins, and more. Everything looked scrumptious. My kid and I decided to share a ham and cheese sandwich, made on a fresh croissant. My kid also ordered an ice latte. The food was SO fresh and the ingredients top notch. The proportions of ingredients were also on point; they included the perfect amount of spicy Dijon mustard (nothing worse than too much or too little condiment. Am I right?). And the croissant was excellent. My kid's coffee was delicious, she said. Prices here are a tad high IMO but at least the quality of food is excellent. I see other reviews mention the friendly service. Our experience did not bear that out. The servers were business-like with us. They weren't rude or anything, but they weren't warm, either. I'm actually so surprised by some of the poor reviews on Saba because we had the best time this weekend! My partner and I checked it out for brunch and got a table right away in their courtyard which is so beautiful! Our server came right away and was attentive but not suffocating and let us take our time and enjoy the atmosphere. I ordered the half farmers breakfast ($13) and my partner got the mushroom skillet. The Farmers Breakfast was exactly what I wanted - tasty lamb sausage with an over easy egg and buttered sourdough. I'm a sucker for a buttered bread. The smashed potatoes were also great and I liked how fresh the greens were on this plate too. I wasn't starving as I'm never super hungry in the mornings so this was perfect for me. I was however eyeing my partners meal hcore because it was SO GOOD. The Mushroom skillet had three types of mushroom with smashed potatoes, goat cheese and a poached egg. The egg was done brilliantly and the mushrooms almost created this lovely gravy at the bottom of the skillet that you could lap up with a side o sourdough, yes we got a side o sourdough. Overall we had a wonderful experience and have already booked to go back in august! We picked up some goodies for the drive home and dropped some to my sister on the way and she loved them - the monster cookie and sausage roll. I do agree that the layout isn't the easiest to manage lineups and I could see it being abit busy/chaotic at another hour but I'm not going to fault them for it because the decor is gorgeous! Driving home from Chilliwack this morning I decided to stop in Fort Langley for coffee as I went to high school there and had t visited for ages. Drove around a bit and happened upon Sabà on a side street. Hope was with me otherwise I would have sat down at a table - the bistro in the back was so inviting! Beautiful selection of baked goods and the front. I was craving a scone and the only one there was gluten free. I couldn't bring myself to do it. All my experiences gluten-free in the past have been awful. Fortunately for me the regular scones were about to come out of the oven. I had a choice of two and went with the lemon lavender and I'm so glad I did!. I cracked it open in the car - it was still warm and it smelled heavenly. It was delicious as well and it went down well with my Americano. I was able to get cashew milk for it. They make the cashew milk in house and it was really good! I will happily make the trek to Fort Langley in the future to try something else! Heavy flow of traffic and the bistro was quite full in the back. read more

Cute cafe and quite big as a cafe in Fort Langley but always busy. Street parkings around and a paid public parking lot. Bus stops at walkable distance. Not hard to find because it's at a corner. Quite a few options to choose from for drinks, pastries, and soup. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Clean washrooms and nice decor. It's a place it'd go back to when I visit Fort Langley, but not a place I'd travel all the way for just for coffee. But I definitely recommend to check it out if you haven't! read more

Over the weekend we decided to go out to Fort Langley to try some delicious goodies and this was the highlight! * Braised short rib hash ($21) ~ this was phenomenal one of the best hash I've had in a while. The braised short rib was ultra tender and soft, the sauce was so good with the sourdough bread and potatoes. There was melted smoked cheddar on top which went super well with the caramelized onions and short rib. I asked to get poached eggs instead of sunny side... 10/10 recommend. * Smoked wild salmon Benedict (half $14 // full $18) ~ we got the full size. this was made on a herb biscuit and paired with roasted potatoes and salad. The salad was refreshing because the vine vinaigrette was refreshing and delicious but light. The potatoes were nicely roasted and seasoned. Eggs however was a bit on the medium side. The smoked salmon was super fragrant and it was definitely a salmon fillet which was smoked rather than smoked salmon slices. The biscuit was nice and herby which added amazing flavour to the smoked salmon. There is also red onions on the bottom and it tasted amazing with the smoked salmon and dill. * DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE PORTION. It's pretty heavy! * 9/10 ~ the hash was amazing that was perfection. The Benedict I wish the egg was more soft but there was still a bit of a egg yolk pop. Highly recommend the hash! * 7/10 ~ it isn't the cheapest but it also wasn't the most expensive brunch place I've had. It was delicious we were full after as it was heavy. Portions were good. I decided to stop by Fort Langley on the way to Vancouver from Abbotsford. Originally I was going to go to the little White House because that's always the go to spot there. After some walking around and not wanting to see any ghosts that day (apparently it's haunted?! I could be wrong but ITS A NO FROM ME). I spotted a new spot I've never seen before and it was quite busy so I decided to try it. This place is so cute, it has a rustic vibe to it. There's a huge barn door in the back for all your instagram needs. They also have a cafe/bakery in the front and a dining area in the back and outside. The service there was friendly. My boyfriend and I both got the short rib hash and we ordered an extra side of lamb meatballs, sausage, and sautéed kale. It looked amazing but the taste was alright (It's probably amazing for Fort Langley though but in Vancouver we're spoiled with loads of restaurants). The skillet underneath consisted of shredded short rib, cheese, mushrooms and lots of potatoes. The sourdough that came with it was grilled perfectly (appreciate those grill marks) The meatballs were a bit dry but the lamb sausage was sooo smoky (perfect if you like the Smokey flavour) and the kale was your plain ol' sautéed kale for that veggie fix. The food was also a bit on the pricey side, our bill ended up being $71 (before tip and everything in the picture). In a word: frustrating. This is a new, trendy cafe in a trendy little town, and I took my daughter here one morning because we were curious. My first thought when walking in was, "Wow, pretty nice decor." There was a lineup of people along the counter with a decent assortment of baking, so we squeezed past them and the small tables encroaching on the line in the other side. Kind of awkward but whatever. There were a bunch of bright-eyed young women behind the counter which seemed eager to serve and please, and they asked what we wanted. Note that they offered no more info than what we could readily perceive. Examining the menu board on the wall, I saw it was a selection of beverages, no food items, so assumed it was just the baking and drinks offered there, and despite momentary disappointment that I couldn't get breakfast items like eggs, I ordered a cinnamon bun and a beverage. My daughter ordered a brownie and a drink as well, and when they kindly asked if we'd like those items heated, we agreed that would be nice. As they bustled around to get our items and the line got closer to the till, I noticed a tiny chalkboard sign by the till advertising three different breakfast items. Dang! I wish I would have known, but those eager little elves had already heated up my cinnamon bun, so although I was a bit annoyed, I left it. I paid for our goods and saw the area near the counter was very cramped, and there was a raised seating area with a number of empty tables, so we headed there. As we were seating ourselves, a woman walked up to us and bluntly told us those tables were reserved for brunch guests. WTF!?! THEY HAVE BRUNCH!?! Pretty darn annoyed now. As we made our way sheepishly back to second-class-citizen-seating and found a tiny table where we were wedged in tightly between other patrons and had to balance our trays on said tiny table, we looked around to see if there were any signs denoting brunch. There were none that we could see, but finally noticed a 'please wait to be seated' sign near the section that was mostly blocked by people standing in line at the counter. The final thing we had to do now that we had a table was to line up at the cramped beverage 'fixings' bar to get cream and sugar and such for our beverages. It allowed basically one person at a time to squeeze in, and was one more annoying feature to the layout that, though looking nice upon first entering, was pretty poorly conceived. We finally got to our pastries, and the seemingly keen employees had put napkins beneath the items prior to heating, so we had paper stuck to the bottom of them that we had to unceremoniously scrape off. Grrrr... I was just really freaking annoyed by this time. Jostled about by people squeezing through the too-tight seating area, we downed our food as quick as we could because we couldn't wait to get out of there! As we appreciated our freedom again outside, we both agreed that the food was alright, but nothing special. In a town where there are some exceptional bakeries and cafes, 'meh' just isn't good enough. So one star for nice decor and clean establishment, one for edible food, but no more stars than that for the completely annoying and frustrating experience. Will I give them another shot? Maybe someday, but there are a lot of spots in Fort Langley that I already love, so it will be some time until I brave this place again. read more

This was definitely a memorable brunch experience, but not in the way you'd expect. We got seated outside, and my parents and I were literally attacked by mosquitos (the restaurant's mosquito repellent didn't do anything lol the mosquitos seemed to love it) and I came back home with 30 mosquito bites. The food was good though, and the presentation was nice. They didn't have any vegan desserts that I wanted to try that day which was a shame, but I did end up getting a vegan sausage roll from their pastry case. Hopefully they'll make more vegan pastries soon! Hummus Bowl (4.5/5) This was quite nice, and it had a lot of veggies but also a good amount of protein unlike a lot of vegan dishes at non-vegan restaurants which I appreciated. The hummus was decent both in terms of taste and creaminess, but not exceptional. The roasted red bell peppers were nicely charred and soft and sweet, as were the yams and cherry tomatoes. The bowl also came with a portabello mushroom, which was nice, though it could have been grilled a little more to make it juicier. The kale could have been seasoned and massaged a bit more, but it wasn't too bad. The toast was grilled and had a smoky flavour to it, but unfortunately it wasn't hot or crispy enough. Veggie Skillet (4.5/5) This was quite nice as well, and I love how it's served in a skilled. The best part about this was the crispy potatoes, which were cooked very nicely and were very flavourful. The kale was tastier than the one in the hummus bowl, probably due to the smokiness from the potatoes and it being in a skillet so it may have been cooked a bit longer. The skillet also came with yams, which were soft and sweet, and onions which were nicely grilled. The chimichurri didn't have much taste, but that may have been because there wasn't much of it. My only complaints are that it was too salty and that there wasn't any protein. I would have liked some mushrooms/chickpeas/lentils/beans or something to amp up the protein. Sausage Roll (3.5/5) This was pretty. decent in terms of flavour but it was way too oily (like you couldn't imagine) after being heated up. The pastry was pretty flaky, but it ended up being a bit mushy due to the ridiculous amount of oil. The texture of the vegan sausage wasn't the best, as it was quite dry. Overall, it was a nice attempt, but I think that the recipe still needs some tweaking. My dad got the short rib hash which he said was very good. Overall, the food is nice and the portions are decent for the price. I hope they have more vegan options in the future and I'll make sure to sit inside next time. read more

Fort Langley might be my new favourite place. This little village is the true definition of a hole in the wall! Located right off the Golden Ears Bridge, tucked on the side of Langley. It's filled with delicious eats, cute cafes, yummy gelato and a nice cozy atmosphere. I was walking around and I walked past "Saba Cafe and Bistro" and it immediately caught my eye! As soon as I went in, I was in awe over how beautifully decorated and bright it was. It's filled with bright, open, slightly rustic but modern decor and lots of natural lighting. The front part is a cafe with one giant communal table and few individual tables and the back side is a bistro serving some delicious smelling food. I got the cashew milk latte and a slice of their carrot cake. I wasn't a huge fan of their cashew latte but the carrot cake was to die for! I just had the best time sitting outside, enjoying my cake and drinking my coffee. 10/10 recommend. read more

I am rating the ambiance, beverage and a piece of vegan chocolate cake I tried (from my sister's order). Drink prices are reasonably priced compared to cafes in the area. My bottled tea was $1 cheaper than at Lelem. There was plenty of seating available inside the cafe and in the courtyard. I tried a small piece of the chocolate cake and it was decadent. The ambience is modern and follows the same airy feel that many trendy cafes are creating. My only complaint is the communal butter and jam due to hygienic reasons. Literally, a slab of butter in a bowl and jam in a bowl self service style. I would prefer staff to serve personal sized portions rather than have anyone grab that out in the open. read more

Have heard so much about this new little bistro-cafe in Fort Langley! We went there today to check it out! This is a bustling place filled with a great energy. Walking into Saba you are greeted warmly by both the staff and a beautiful array of delicious looking fresh baked goods! At the back there is a sit down Bistro with a separate menu. We opted to sit and ordered off of the brunch menu! The coffees were delicious...they have beer and wine as well! Love that they serve Republica coffee which is roasted right in Ft Langley...supporting local business! In our typical style we ordered a few menu items to share so that we could try a wider selection of items! Right away they offered us some share plates to accommodate our family style eating! We ordered the *Eggs Benny with smoked bacon served on a savoury scone, Smashed Potatoes and Mixes Greens *Challah French Toast with mixed berry compote, yogurt and maple syrup *Grilled Veggie Bowl...not sure if this is the right name with caramelized onions, sweet potatoes, baby potatoes, roasted kale and rosemary AND a grilled sourdough toast!! All of the dishes were delish and presented so well! My fav was the Eggs Benny! This is a family owned business that reflects a beautiful family serving, greeting and creating amazing food and environment, together! Some might refer to me as a "coffee snob," but I really just believe life is too short to drink bad coffee - specifically lattes! So, when I discovered SABÀ last week, while visiting friends in Langley, I was keen to give it a try. We were welcomed by the warm, earthy décor and neighbourly vibe. But speaking of the coffee - their baristas are well trained and consistently produce impeccable lattes - at just the right temperature, with the sweetest balance of espresso and milk, topped off with the thinnest layer of foamy goodness. I tried one of their gluten free scones while my friend had an excellent cheese cake. (I tried a bit, I must confess.) We didn't have time to try out their continental-style meals but if and when I'm next in the area I think I may. My friend and I were out for a 'girlfriends' lunch together. Checked out online the different options in Fort Langley and decided on Saba. i had the Shakshuka with lamb meatballs I'd heard others talk about. It was different, in a good way, and so flavourful! I enjoyed every bite! my friend had the lamb burger and salad and loved it also. To end off our meal we stopped in at the coffee shop and each got an Americano. oh man! That's good coffee!! Not sure if they roast their own beans, or where they get their coffee from, but it was a super smooth, dark roasted coffee that I enjoyed to the last sip! Not good first let me say the environment with the inner courtyard is nice. Wish the food was the same way. Had the traditional eggs bacon and toast and potatoes. The potatoes were just ok no garlic or spices to dress them up. The eggs were awful.... Don't have scrambled you will be disappointed. The ketchup was homemade and tasted like pizza sauce . The toast was sourdough and they buttered them so much hardly eatable. Won't go back because to top it all off the large traditional breakfast was $16.00 and not worth it. Other people at our sit down table of 7 all said the same thing. read more
