Having been there with a client previously, the lovely K picked this place for us and her Mom, who was visiting us for a later lunch. The place is bright, airy and nicely appointed, although the seating was a little close together. We were greeted immediately by a very nice young lady, and shown to our table. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The lively K had the grilled Caesar with chicken which she loved. It was a good sized portion as well. I had the prawn tacos which were also very good. You built them yourself which was a little messy and the plate a little small. I would have preferred the tail shell removed as it was not easy to remove them and created further mess. The portion was also a little on the small side for the price. It's also a wash your hands afterwards, kind of meal, and you might not want to wear your Sunday best. All in all I'd go again to explore a little more of the somewhat limited menu, which isn't overly surprising given they do not serve dinner. read more

Ambience: Loved the ambience - rustic, modern and elegant. Lots of seating; some tables are quite close to each other but that was OK for us. Service: Great service. Friendly staff. We were seated right away at a table of our choice. They do take reservations and it might be better to make one during weekends and evenings. We went on a weekday for brunch and it got busy right after we got there. Food: Good selection for brunch. I love that they have GF options; and can accommodate requests. Prices are a bit on the higher side for brunch but I think it's worth it. It's comparable to most places in Downtown Vancouver. I love Shashuka, so I ordered it. Cost was $22 but I paid $24 because of the GF toast option. It was okay; way too tangy than the way I cook Shahuska and how I've had it in many places. I was hoping for it to be less tangier. I wish the meatballs were a part of the Shahuska dish and not served one the side. I wouldn't order this again because it was too much for my pallet at 10am. My hubby liked his dish but not loved it because it was too dry. Would've been nice to have some sauce to hold everything together. Coffee was great. All in all, a lovely place and good service. On September 20th we went to Fort Langley for the day and decided we were gonna try this Saba. Looking in, it was very inviting and a definite plus with outdoor dining as we had our dog with us. We informed them we would like to dine in as there are two adjoining tables available on the patio. They took our number down & told us they would text us as soon as the tables are ready. So we waited................ For them to clear the tables. (Crickets chirping) We patiently waited for a good 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, the ladies that were seated before us on the patio was already being served. And our said tables were cleared. After awhile, my daughter went in to try inquire how much longer it would take. No one came over or made eye contact. By this time, quite a few tables had cleared up. We motioned each other to saunter away as we felt ignored. We never got that "text" to inform us our table was ready. So we went to another establishment for lunch. Saba lost our business. What is it about this town? People (the general public) are so unfriendly & rude. I will never return or recommend people to visit Fort Langley again. This last experience left me with a bittersweet feeling. The people working in the stores are super nice while the general public was just plain nasty. We arrived pretty late walking around Fort Langley. There are so many decent restaurants in the area but this one caught my eyes. Mainly due to my mom instinct is telling me that this place would be kids friendly. You have no idea how many restaurants I have been to either doesn't have a baby change table or a broken change table. Anyways, I did not regret coming here at all. Their egg benedicts are to die for! The egg is perfectly cooked and I like how they use scone for the Benedict base. I think it's a really nice touch. The staff are friendly and nice. A group of seven of us went for brunch. The food was outstanding in every way. The service was great,friendly and unassuming. The dish I had was the peaches and cream French toast which was delicious and so beautifully presented as was my lavender latte. I would luv to go back for lunch or dinner. Came here to celebrate my birthday and take a break from Vancouver and I'm so glad I picked here! The restaurant is stunning inside, all of the food was delicious, and the drinks were well priced. We got the buratta and Brussel sprouts to start which were great. For mains I got the lamb lollipops (since they ran out of the lamb dinner) and my husband got the halibut special. Both entrees were so delicious. Only thing was for the price point, we felt the portions were a bit small. We also got a tiramisu for dessert which isn't normally my favorite but it was amazing!! Often tiramisu can be soggy but this one was fluffy and moist but not soggy at all. I loved how it was almost more like a custard rather than a cream. We happily come back here again but only for special occasions as it is very pricey. read more

They have a short menu with just a dozen mains to choose from. I had the Roasted Marbella hicken . It's OK. It was better than what my wife ordered, the pasta with a shrimp., Rigatoni Arrabbela. We came to Saba Bistro for brunch based on the reviews and got a mimosa and a braised short rib benny to share. We came here late on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait to long to get seated although it was quite full when we sat down. They were nice to split the mimosa for us and it tasted quite good. We also got the braised short rib benny. The short rib had good flavour but was a bit dry and the egg that we asked for medium poached did not ooze like how we normally like it to. Unfortunately when we got there, they let us know that they no longer sold plain croissants and the next option was the double baked almond croissant. I was delighted when I heard that Saba Cafe and Bistro down the street on Mavis was expanding to this location. This is strictly a Bistro, while the old location is now just a Cafe. The menu is refreshingly free of the usual West Coast Casual that you can get everywhere else. They seem to be aiming for fine dining, with pricing on the low end for that class (entrees range from ($28-$50 as I recall). Quite a few Moroccan dishes. Servers know what they're doing when it comes to food and wine, and in my experience are fairly hands-off (or perhaps just extremely busy, which is understandable given staff shortages these days). The room is gorgeous and spacious. Sadly, the pasta and shakshuka were over-salted. I thought it may just be me, but people I've gone with confirmed. Losing one star for that. Otherwise, The food was quite good - perfectly cooked fish and pasta, rhe flavourful shakshuka for lunch was otherwise delicious, and the fried Cauliflower wasn't too oily. read more

Some of the reviews here are for the Sabà Cafe and not the Sabà Bistro. They are two different places, although they are under the same ownership. Sabà Bistro is not the place for baked goods. Had lunch at Saba Bistro with a friend and we both had the Braised Short Rib Hash. It was good, although it wasn't a "hash"... the potatoes were neither smashed, crushed nor hashed... they were simply cut in half. It was tasty, however. Service was decent. Our small circular table by the window was a bit cramped... I prefer not to fight with my companion as to where I should put my legs. Definitely will return to try out their dinner menu. read more

Warning- dinner review... the brunch is AMAZING here, so I had high expectations for their dinner...it was definitely disappointing. The service was fine, ambience was lacking, the music was very quiet and most tables were empty. The drinks were yummy. The Brussels appy was pretty good. For the mains the were disappointing, i had the vongole and my partner had the lamb ragu. They were flavourless, the lamb ragu texture less, and my gluten free pasta underdone. Dessert was good enough. Will return for brunch, but never for dinner with the prices of dining downtown van. read more

Love the ambience in this place. The lighting, the high ceilings, the clean airy-ness is relaxing and calming. I've been here twice and ordered the wild mushroom skillet the first time which was delicious and tried the mushroom Benny this second time. The smashed potatoes are really good and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The bread itself served on is okay, kind of grainy when the hollandaise soaks through. Not my favourite texture. Service tries its best but I feel like they were understaffed for weekend brunch the last two times I've been there. It took a loooong time to get a coffee order in and after our plates were dropped off, they stayed on the table for a long while before our server finally came over to clean the table and give us the bill. We were probably there for 30 min longer than we needed to be. Service is very friendly, I think this is moreso feedback for mgmt. I suggest hiring a coffee/drink bartender to help get orders out faster and have that person bus tables when there's downtime. Your servers are really busy during the morning rush and a bit of front floor help would make your business run smoother. Other than that, I still love this place and will return! read more

Was super hungry & had brunch at this place & ordered " Saba Sammy" which was basically available egg burger with onions. I had bacon removed & mashed potatoes replaced with yam fries. After the first bite, the words that came out of my mouth automatically were "wow! How can someone so masterfully take out all the flavours from food?" I requested for salt, pepper and chilli sauce thinking it may help make it bit palatable, but honestly speaking nothing worked and I couldn't eat much despite being hungry. My husband ate his shashuka though it wasn't much flavourful either despite all the tomatoes and bell peppers. However he didn't believe that avocado sandwich could be tasteless. However his opinion quickly changed when he took a bite of it and agreed that even after adding all the salt and chilli sauce, it was yukky and hard to consume consciously. This cafe on Glover is an extension of their original cafe on Mavis. We had an amazing breakfast there! Started off with mimosas but not your idea of the classic one with orange juice. We had a peach one and a guava one. Well we got another round because they were so good! Our food consisted of the Bacon Benny and the Braised Short Rib Hash. Both were excellent. Service was top-notch even with the crowds for the Cranberry Festival. We will be going back to try something else on the menu. read more

On Tuesday November 21 My wife phone to make a dinner reservation for 3 at 6PM on Saturday. She was told that they do not take reservations on Saturday but that if we phoned an hour ahead of time they would put us on a waiting list. We arrived in fort Langley and called them around 5PM. We were told that they were fully booked until 8:30PM and when questioned, they said that the no reservation policy was for the brunch only. This was rather disturbing so we went into the restaurant to discuss it further with the greeter. It was the same lady we had spoken to on the phone and so she merely restated what she had told us on the phone and that there was a miscommunication. implying that we had not understood. We asked if they could please seat us in light of the fact that it was not our fault and we had travelled from White Rock. She said the best she could do was to seat us at the bar and we decided that this was not reasonable for us. At this point she was not willing to accommodate us in any fashion and the discussion was over. I suggested to her that perhaps her manager should look at reviewing staff's training. She replied that that was disrespectful and appeared to be losing her patience . I responded by saying that comment had been a legitimate one and not at all disrespectful. I don't know how good their food is but I can tell that this type of behaviour was uncalled for and that we will not be finding out what their food tastes like in the future. We were disappointed with this pricey restaurant in town. Our order took almost an hour to arrive at our table. The stripling was overcooked & we ordered medium rare. The duck breast order was cold & may have been sitting for some time. The paella special was not authentic tasting & came in a small portion for $42. Was visiting family in the area and was looking for a place to take my brother for his and wife's anniversary They squeezed us in on a busy night and we were so happy they did. I will start by saying the service was great, the atmosphere was amazing and the food was very delicious. My wife and I went on a Wednesday night for their Mexican themed specials and the live music. The menu's were put in front of us, but we did not see the fish tacos or margarita flights on the menu, or feature sheet, so we had to ask our server. I ordered a margarita flight and a spot prawn appetizer. We then both ordered the fish taco special. The spot prawns were good, but small in size, the tacos were delicious, but the portion size was extremely small. My wife rarely eats all her meal when we go out for dinner, but even she said that the portion size was very small and she was still hungry when she was done. We both ordered the churro desert special to try and fill the void. I will keep saying it, I had no issues with the quality of the food or how it tasted, but I can't say enough about the small portion size!! When the server brought our bill, we both did a double take and almost fell out of our seats! We thought maybe around $90.00, seeing as there was no prices anywhere for the specials we ordered, but when we saw the $190.00 bill, we couldn't believe our eyes. We both had 4 little 4oz margaritas, 6 prawns between us, and 3 small fish tacos each. This was no more than like sharing some appies before a main entree, but we never got a main course. $32.00 for a flight of margaritas, or basically, 2 oz of Tequila , $20.00 for 6 little spot prawns, $24.00 for 3 fish tacos, only 2 bites in size and $12.00 for 6 miniature churros!! Again, we were both still hungry!! We could have gone to the Keg and ate and drank till our bellies were full, and still paid $50.00 or more less than Saba Bistro.
