There wasn't an option for me to change the tip amount.

It was my first trip to Fort Langley and I noticed this place when I got off the bus. I walked around town first and checked out other ice cream places, this one looked more special so I decided to give this store a try. I ordered the pumpkin gelato since it is a limited time special. It is rather expensive at $6 for a small cone. The taste was better than normal ice cream from the supermarket, in fact, it was a little too sweet and I got thirsty afterwards, leaving me to wonder if there were taste enhancers used. The cone was very fresh, it was the only positive. But for a total cost of $7, I could get much better quality and better taste gelato in Vancouver. Last but not least, the reason I gave this store a one star is it forced me to give them a 10% tip. I tried changing the tip amount but the terminal did not allow me to do that at all. I do not mind giving a tip, but forcing me to do it just put me off, I will never return.

This was such a great treat on a hot summer night! There was a line up out the door, as it must be a very popular on warm nights. But I'm glad to say that it is worth the wait. If you're looking for a smooth, creamy, vegan friendly and gluten free friendly treat location this is a great spot! It is on the pricy side, but if you're looking to treat yourself with a treat I highly recommend! All the flavours we tried were great. This has to be the largest selection of vegan gelato I have yet to find! Seating maybe hard to grab outside and the garbage maybe a little overwhelming. So grab the gelato and go for a stroll.

I've been here twice, and I don't get why people dislike it. The service is great, atmosphere is cute, and the gelato flavours are delightful. To be fair, I've only come here later in the evenings when there aren't a lot of people, so I can't speak directly to how they would handle the pressure of a large summer crowd. Most recently, I visited with a group of 7 people and we all left happy. Service: the ladies behind the counter are quick to greet you and are willing to give you a sample of whatever you're interested in. How long it takes to get your ice cream is solely dependent on your decision making abilities. Atmosphere: there aren't a ton of tables, which makes for a pretty cozy atmosphere. This store is located at the edge of the row of stores, but is worth finding. Flavours: I tried all my friends ice creams and shared a medium gelato with Rob W. We got the orange chocolate and white raspberry gelatos. They were really good! My friend's Ferraro was also tasty. The only one I didn't like as much was the green tea with coconut milk. This wasn't their fault, it's just an inherently underwhelming combination. The scoops could be more consistent. My medium was smaller than my friends'. Otherwise, this could be the perfect little gelato shop. I'll be back!

Just ordered a small size coffee, but only allowed to have one milk, otherwise have extra charge. Ridiculous.

Great variety of flavor and everything we tried delicious. I wish portions were a bit bigger, same for the waffle cone.

BUYER BEWARE - WEBSITE HACKED?…read more I've ordered from Republica a bunch of times before with no issues and really enjoy their roasts but my last order was a mess. Paid through their website using PayPal and the money went to some random business name I've never heard of. A few days later they emailed me saying they never got the funds and basically told me to contact PayPal to try to get the money back. Their explanation was that it was a "PayPal technical issue" and that I should always double check the payee name before sending money. That doesn't sit right with me. If I'm checking out on your official website I shouldn't have to second guess whether the payment is actually going to you. Their site was either hacked, their PayPal setup was compromised, or they misconfigured it. How can I check out on YOUR website, have a receipt showing 4 lbs of roasted coffee, but the seller name on PayPal is some random name not associated to them? In addition to that, when they contacted me about my order they accidentally CC'd other people who were most likely affected by the same issue. Their official responses: "Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with PayPal's payment system, some payments were mistakenly authorized to an account not associated with us. In some cases, transactions have shown the recipient's name as "Toko Maria" or "Toko Putri." Please note that Republica Coffee never received these funds." "We wanted to clarify that due to a recent technical issue with PayPal, some payments were mistakenly authorized to accounts not associated with Republica Coffee. If your transaction shows any recipient other than Republica Coffee Roasters Inc., the payment did not reach us. As a result, your current order has been cancelled, and you can place a new order." Instead of owning it they downplayed it, canceled my order, and asked me to order again!? I'm still fighting with PayPal to dispute the original charge with no success yet. Buy at your own risk.

This isn't a sterile chain shop--it's a warm, sunshiny hub built from beautiful wood tones, welcoming you to slow down and stay awhile. What immediately strikes you is how wonderfully curated the space is. Despite being "jam-packed" with thousands of quality used and collectible books, the store manages to feel open, airy, and inviting. The selection is fantastic, especially their deep cuts in Pacific Northwest History, general fiction, and esoterica. Browsing is a delight thanks to the meticulous organization that makes finding that hidden literary gem feel like a genuine discovery. The "Coffeehouse" part of the name is equally crucial. Serving delicious, locally-sourced coffee (like Olympia Coffee Roasters beans) and boasting a pastry case filled with unique treats--the legendary rosemary sea salt rolls, figgy bars, and baked goods are must-tries--it perfectly complements the reading experience. The friendly, attentive staff, who are clearly passionate about bookselling, are always ready to offer a recommendation or assist, often going above and beyond. Whether you're looking for a quiet, bright nook to get some work done, a comfortable chair to sip a vanilla bean latte, or an engaging evening out for a poetry reading or live piano music, Pelican Bay delivers. It's a bookstore with character, clearly beloved by locals and a mandatory stop for any visitor. It's the kind of place you'll remember long after you've left Anacortes. Highly, highly recommend!

I was told by the staff that the business has been around eighteen years and is still doing great. Being inside the café is like being in a very nice cabin. I ordered the Wicked Thai Chicken soup and the Pumpkin Spiced Latte with whipped cream. The soup was fantastic and did not taste watered down whatsoever. The Thai chicken was full of piquancy and zest. The latte really stood out with how potent the pumpkin spice was and the whipped cream was a very nice addition. The drink was thoroughly enjoyable with how sweet and flavourful every sip was. I also ordered the Apple Caramel Muffin and the Haystack Brownie; both were very great baked goods to follow-up from the soup. I really like the service there; staff is very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed eating at Kanaka and I know everyone that went there does as well. I cannot wait to come to patronize at this lovely café again.
